"There's no way I'm wearing this." Supernova said pouting as he threw away multicolored hat of shame as he called it.

"Please Nova," Luna said as she grabbed the said hat with her magic, "it's the newest fashion amongst, well umhh,"

"Sophisticated ponies?" Nova asked.

Luna smiled with a small blush on her muzzle and nodded. "It's not that bad." She said and flew the hat towards Nova who looked at it with disgust, huge yellow material from which the hat was made for some reason reflected every ray of light that dared to touch it, making it look like a shining beacon of embarrassment.

If that already wasn't enough, its top was covered by multicolored streamers and feathers, "It only lacks balloons." Nova thought out loud and sighed in defeat. "Fine, I'll wear it." He said and snatched it from Luna's magic with his hoof. "But only this one time."

Luna clapped her hooves, "Glorious! I am very thankful." She said and chuckled few times, Princess of the Night moved to the big wardrobe and started to search through Nova's small collection of suits. "We need to buy you a new one."

"Again?" Nova asked, "I didn't even have any suits before but you insisted on buying me one, than another one," He looked into the mirror and tried to make use of hats huge size to cover his face with it, "and another one, and another one, and—"

"Fine I get it," Luna said as she finally choose the one proper for occasion, dark-blue suit designed by Prom Ford, "I couldn't let the coltfriend of Princess accompany her to the party without a proper clothing now could I?" She threw the said suit on the bed.

"Sure, but one or two would be enough." He said and sighed in resignation 'There's no way I can make this hat look any less ridiculous'

"I shall leave you for now and finish my own preparations." Luna said as she walked towards doors, she opened it with her magic and raised her hoof to make another step but stopped for a second, she turned around and with a small blush she said "Don't you go chase after other mares during the party."

Nova chuckled. "I'm all yours," he said and bowed, "my highness."

Luna smiled and left Nova alone, in his private chamber.

Private chamber, now that was something, this previously guest room was now all his, after Luna decided that her coltfriend shouldn't live in guards barracks, which caused another fight between her and her sister, but soon enough they came to an agreement.

Void was very against it, but not because he would miss Nova, but as he said 'What if my new roommate will be an ever bigger idiot than you?'

Thanks to Luna Void didn't get new "idiot" and so their old room became all his, much to his delight. It took Nova few nights to get accustomed to new environment but he quickly began appreciating his new room.

He was together with Luna for three months now, and without any exaggeration these were three best months of his life. He still was a simple soldier, but ever since Celestia found out about him and her sister being a couple, Luna started to take him to many different parties and galas, changing their dating from secret to hot topic that newspapers wouldn't shut up about.

Nova preferred when only few close ponies knew about them, but sooner or later their relationship would have to hit the world, Luna thought the sooner the better.

And now another boring party was coming, well maybe this time it wouldn't be that boring, after all it was the Grand Galloping Gala, he worked as a guard on few of these before, but he never was an invited guest.

"Yeah, maybe it won't be so bad." He said to himself with a smile as he looked at himself wearing a suit Luna chose for him, "well at least I won't look bad." He said and frowned as his mind reminded him of the huge hindrance in form of the illuminating hat, laying on the floor.

Luna trotted through the hallways of great Canterlot Castle, chuckling every now and then, the usual silent stone walls were now full of loud hoofsteps of ponies hurrying up with their chores, making sure everything is ready for the Gala that starts in less than an hour from now.

Princess of the Night stopped for a second as she saw a familiar face running past her. "Hello there Moonlily, where are you heading?"

Castle maid stopped in her tracks, almost falling over from all the speed, she forced a nervous smile, "Oh hello Princess, I have to go and quickly change into my dress."

Luna smirked, "How could I forget! You too have a date tonight, don't you."

"Well I, uhh—" She scratched the back of her head nervously and forced another smile. "I have to go." She stated and dashed away, leaving Luna's vision in an instant.

Luna laughed loudly and wiped away a small tear that appeared in her eye, "Poor filly, she's always nervous during these events and now she's has a colt to worry about." Luna turned towards the window and stared at full moon that adored this night's sky.

"Well I should get ready myself." She thought out loud and trotted towards her personal chambers, on her way she met few other familiar faces, but only nodded a greeting this time, soon enough she arrived at her destination and walked inside. She stepped towards her wardrobe and looked through her dresses.

"I think this one will be good," she heard someone say as long, sharp talon motioned towards the obsidian colored dress.

After a second that her brain needed to realize the situation she shouted and turned around startled, only to see the smiling face of her brother in law, "Discord! What are you doing here?"

"Helping you chose the right dress for the Gala, duhh." He said and took the one he motioned before from the wardrobe. "I think this one will work great."

Luna cocked her eyebrow and sighed, she looked at the dress and smiled after a moment, "For once you might actually be right." She said and picked up the dress with her magic.

"Oh please, I'm always right." He said and puffed out his chest, "so, did you, you know do the thing?"

"Did I do what?" She asked.

Discord smirked. "You know, the 'hat operation', did it success?"

Luna smiled, "Oh without any problems." She laughed. "What about 'no-more cake' operation?"

Discord gave Luna thumbs up with a smirk, "Special surprise muffin is ready." He chuckled. "This will be a wonderful Gala."

Celestia, already in her vibrant, teal dress waited in the main hall for the Gala to begin and guest to come in through the huge gate, excited to be greeted by their great Princess. Only pony at her side being her most faithful student, and a fellow Princess, Twilight Sparkle.

"I really hope this Gala will go without any problems Princess." Twilight said with a hint of guilt apparent in her voice, "I'm really sorry for what happened that one time."

"Twilight," Celestia said smiling, "I told you already that it was the most fun I had in years." She said and chuckled, "besides, I'm afraid it's not possible to have no problems with my husband attending it."

Twilight smiled nervously, "Yeah, right." Princess of Friendship looked around, trying to notice any familiar face in the crowd of ponies that swirled around the main hall, maids, guards, waiters all getting ready before the main gates opens.

She was about to give up before she noticed not just one, but two friendly faces, with a small smile she shouted out, "Octavia! Vinyl!"

Two mares carrying their respective instruments, cello and a portable DJ stand, stopped and turned towards the pony who called them, they smiled and quickly trotted to Twilight.

Young alicorn left her teacher's side for a moment and trotted to her old friends from Ponyville, "It's been so long since we last saw each other, how are you two doing?"

"Oh splendidly, thank you for asking, Princess." Octavia said.

"Please, call me Twilight."

"Sure thing Twi." Vinyl added.

"Were you both invited to play this year?" Twilight asked.

Octavia smiled. "Yes indeed, we have worked on combining our music styles together and, I wouldn't like to brag but—"

"It's absolute fire!" Vinyl shouted out. Startling her friends a bit.

Octavia blushed and nodded.

"That's great," Twilight said excited.

"Come on! We're going to be late." Adamant said as he ran towards Canterlot Castle, adjusting his bowtie with his left hoof.

"Oh please, so what?" Void commented but ran after his friend nevertheless, "This stupid thing won't end until dawn anyway."

Adamant stopped in his tracks and turned towards his friend, surprising him, Void barely stopped in time, being only an inch or two from his friend.

"Don't you understand?!" Sky said, not caring about how close to each other they stood, "I have to get there quickly, so I can prepare my hunting grounds."

"Excuse me?"

"Gosh, you guys don't understand anything," he said massaging his temples, "I have to check out all mares before I decide on my prey."

Void stared at him dumbfounded. "Excuse me?"

"Sheesh, I have to make sure I'll hit on the best mare there is, while also checking whether she has a coltfriend or not beforehoof, I need to prepare my hunting grounds." He said making it sound as obvious as possible.

Void stared at him for few seconds, he scratched the back of his head, "Excuse me? Aren't you with Twinkle?"

Adamant roared into the moon, "You guys don't understand anything!" He jumped back into running, "Just hurry up will ya?!"

"Oh for fucks sake." Void commented and ran after his friend.

"Is Dashing Star already there?" Adamant shouted.

"What?!" Void shouted back.

"I asked if Dashing Star is already there?!" He shouted louder.

"He was supposed to meet up with his date, so yeah!"

"Lucky bastard, hitting it off with a hot maid." Adamant commented under his nose.

"What?!" Void shouted.

"Nothing! Just hurry up!"

"What?!"

"Fuck you!"
