Chapter 31
A for an argument.

Supernova followed Luna into the depths of high-rise restaurant, his steps were visibly shaky and his expression was showing a nervous grimace as his eyes quickly looked around trying to count all the priceless paintings, sculptures and vases that adorned the hallway.

He couldn’t help but notice how every other stallion except for himself was wearing an extraordinary suit, some of them also had a monocle and a top-hat, while the mares that accompanied those rich colts were all dressed in breathtaking dresses, each one of them special and eye-catching.

Nova suddenly became overwhelmed by the world he jumped into. No matter where his eyes went he could always feel being observed by those ponies, judged by those ponies. His ears were ringing painfully with their insults, his vision was slowly crumbling, he wanted to close his eyes and escape from this place as fast as possible.

“Is something wrong?”

Supernova’s eyes opened wide and focused entirely on the mare in front of him, Luna gazed at him with eyes full of concern.

He stared at his marefriend for few moments in silence, he didn’t say anything, he didn’t move or even blink, because he finally realized that this world is the world she lives in, his mind finally comprehended that if their relationship will continue then this is what his life will look like more often than not.

Nova smiled, he finally realized it but it didn’t change anything, with the realization of this new world came another one, as long as she will be with him, no number of rich snobs staring at him and badmouthing him will be a problem.

“Nahh, just my imagination.” He said and smiled.

Luna didn’t want to push the matter and simply smiled back, she once again started to walk towards another stairs which lead them to next floor of this outstanding building.

By the time they finally arrived at their destination, Nova felt a bit out of breath, but it wasn’t because of exhaustion, no it was something entirely different.

If previously the decorations of this place were overwhelming, this time what he saw rendered him simply speechless.

He was used to being high in sky as he was a bat-pony, but the scenery that was visible from the highest floor of this place was beyond his imagination. Nova gazed around as his eyes were taking in vibrant colors of all kind swimming in the air above the mountains, he was sure this was some kind of magic, but he never saw a show quite like this one before.

Sometimes a gentle streak of moonlight gazed through the dancing aurora, saying hello to all ponies safely enjoying their meals this night, when Nova thought that there was nothing better than this, he heard something.

The music.

His eyes quickly searched through the crowd of ponies, it took him a moment but he noticed them, a duo of ponies on the stage.

There was a mare, with white angelic fur holding a violin with her left hoof while gently yet firmly keeping the bow ready in the other. Her partner in music was an old stallion with black fur and gray mane, his hooves were slowly falling down on the keys of his equally old piano.

First notes were played and soon younger mare joined in, her music synchronized in perfect harmony with piano creating almost godly music, calm but firm, fast but not violent, sharp but gentle.

“They’re amazing, aren’t they?”

“W-What?” Nova shook his head, “Could you repeat the question?” He asked Luna.

Princess of the Night chuckled. “I have my answer already, come on let’s sit.”

“Luna can I ask you something?” Nova asked as they passed by a couple of ponies, who visibly were as mesmerized with the music as he was.

“Sure, what is it?”

“How are those lights created?”

Luna stopped and looked up into the sky, her eyes reflected the whole spectrum of colors, making them even more beautiful, she chuckled and turned towards her stallion. “I could tell you in details how are they created,”—she moved few steps towards him—"but don’t you think that some things should stay a mystery?” She said and nuzzled him gently.

"Maybe you're right." Nova said and returned the favor, soon they once again walked towards their table, which was placed right in the middle of this magical restaurant.

When they finally arrived at their reserved place Nova gallantly helped Luna take a seat, and then he sat down himself. “I can’t believe how beautiful this place is, and this music is simply—“ He stopped midsentence and tried to find a good word to use.

“I know what you mean”—Luna chuckled—“those two are really an incredible duet, they are father and daughter by the way.”

Nova whistled in admiration.

“Bonjour Monsieur and Mademoiselle, how can I be of service to you ce soir?” A waiter asked as he suddenly appeared.

“Well uhm, what would you like to eat, darling?” Nova asked and grinned dumbly.

Luna chuckled, “We will have two portions of Crème brûlée, and a red wine.” She said.

“Of course! I’ll be right back with your order Mademoiselle, Monsieur.” He bowed a little and left the scene.

Nova leaned in a bit towards Luna and half-whispered, “Why are waiters in best restaurants always Prench?”

Luna shrugged. “Don’t ask me.”

Nova leaned back in his seat and sighed. “Well then, at least we can finally enjoy some time together.”

Luna smiled. “Indeed Nova, and there’s nothing that will interrupt us tonight.”

Supernova smiled, he gazed deeply into Luna’s eyes and took a deep breath, he opened his mouth, but unfortunately somepony cut into their conversation before he could even say a word.

“Mind if I join you two for a moment?”

Nova’s face distorted into irritation, with his eyebrows lowered and his smile turned upside down, in this state he slowly started to turn around and didn’t notice the pale, terrified look on his marefriend’s muzzle.

“Well actually we were in a middle of a conversation here so if you could—” He didn't finish as he finallyturned around, standing behind him was the Princess of the Sun, protector of Equestria and most importantly, overprotective older sister of his marefriend.

Celestia.

“H-Hello.” He squeaked out.

Celestia stared at them with the not so happy face. “Well then, I suppose we could talk somewhere, less crowded?” She commented motioning with her gaze towards the small crowd that started to gather around.

Without waiting for Nova and Luna’s response her horn shone with magic and soon the trio was gone, leaving nothing but dust behind them.

Disappointed customers went back to their tables, in the middle of the crowd a single waiter made his way forward with two Crème brûlée and a bottle of wine on his tray, when he finally arrived at his destination he could only scratch his head in confusion, as the guests disappeared.

“Was it something I said? I knew this fake accent was a bad idea but nopony listened to me, of course not!”

***

“That hurt.” Nova commented about his sore head that directly hit the stone floor of Celestia’s chambers they arrived in.

“Are you okay?” Luna asked and quickly jumped towards her coltfriend.

“I’m fine, actually this calmed me down a little.”

“Good, so you can explain now.”

Luna and Nova stared at each other for few seconds before simultaneously changing their attention to Celestia, who still infuriated stood in front of them. “Let us start with simple question,” Princess of the sun added, “are you two in a relationship of some sort?”

Nova felt colors escaping from his muzzle, leaving it in once again in pale and terrified state, while Luna who overcame her initial shock of meeting with her sister tonight stood up.

“Yes my dear sister, we are, do you have any problem with it?” She asked firmly.

“I’m glad you asked, I do have a problem, firstly, why didn’t you tell me?!” She shouted

“Because I knew you would overreact!” Luna shouted back.

“I don’t overreact!”

“Oh sure you don’t, so what do you have in plans for us?”

“You are grounded,”—she motioned her hoof towards Nova—“ he is going for ten years in dungeon, no trials!”

“Are you kidding me dear sister?!”

“All right fine! Twenty years no trials!”

Supernova sit down on the floor and could only stare in both awe and horror on the scene before him.

“I bet ten cookies on Tia, this is so much fun.”

Nova jumped in place and felt his heart almost bursting through his ribcage as suddenly the God of Chaos himself appeared next to him with a bag of popcorn.

“Discord?! What are you doing here?”

“Ohh I got waken up by all those screams and I’m glad I was cause there’s no way I would ever want to miss a show quite like this one!”—he put his paw into the bag and shoved a huge portion of popcorn into his mouth—“Oh wait, where are my manners, you want some?” He asked.

“What?! No! Discord can’t you help me out here? I’m going to be send into dungeon for twenty years!”

“Twenty? Oh don’t be silly, I already heard thirty somewhere in there.”

“What?!” Nova shouted and for a moment looked back at Luna and Celestia, who were screaming at each other, at least for now because for Supernova it looked like they are about to jump at each other and start a fight.

“This is crazy!”

“I know right? Simply incredible.”

Nova gave Discord a quick glance and then he gave up, his limbs became limp and he sat down on his haunches. “Can I have some?” He asked motioning towards the bag.

God of Chaos snapped his fingers and a new bag appeared in front of Nova, he took it with his hooves and started to munch on his snack, watching his marefriend and her sisters as they were about to turn their argument into a bloody duel.

“I wonder how Voids date is going.”
