Supernova and Luna walked side by side towards the most glorious restaurant in Canterlot known as “Porte-monnaie tueur”, they were accompanied by unstoppable flashes of paparazzi’s cameras as they walked on the red carpet.

Supernova, smirking the whole time, waved his hoof towards the crowd quite pleased by all the attention he was given, his beautiful marefriend leaned into him and although she was not as excited as he was, she surely was happy to be here.

They finally made it through the entrance and were guided into a room which could only be described by one word: posh.

Waiters helped them take their seats and Supernova finally could take his time to relax and have dinner with his marefriend, the Princess of the Night herself.

“Heh Luna, would you look at that, this started as a stupid bet and look where we are, a happy couple in most expensive restaurant in Canterlot.” He said and smiled towards his lover who returned the gesture.

“Nova, it’s time for our shift.” Luna answered

“W-What?” He asked suddenly thrown into utter confusion.

“Get the hell up dude, sun is setting already we’ll be late.”

Supernova’s eyes flew open wide as his marefriend spoke with a low voice that he recognized very well. Soon everything around him started to collapse…

*THUD*

“Oh good you’re awake.” Void Night blankly commented staring at his friend whose muzzle had a close encounter with the floor.

“What the heck was that?” Supernova asked rubbing his sore face with his hoof, as he tried to stand up his mind remembered few parts of his dream which resulted in a smooth facehoofing.

“Woah dude! You all right?” Void asked pretending to care.

Supernova nodded “Yeah I just couldn’t sleep too well, you know, nightmares and all that stuff…” He answered half-lying.

“Well then we better get going, sun is setting and royal guards of her majesty Sun-Butt are going to sleep soon.”

“I always wondered if you would dare to call Princess Celestia “Sun-Butt” in the presence of her guards.”

“Depends.” Void answered quickly.

“On what?”

“How many guards are we talking about.”

Supernova chuckled and shook head, he walked up to his wardrobe and took out his night guard armor.

“Oh by the way Nova.” Void suddenly said while putting on pieces of his armor.

“Yeah?”

“I was wondering if you already gave up on that little bet of ours.” He smirked mischievously being sure of his triumph.

“Yeaaah, about that there’s something I’ve got to tell you.” He answered wearing similar smirk while putting on his helmet, rest of his armor already set in place.

Dashing Star and Adamant Sky trotted together through the royal hallways of Canterlot Castle constantly gazing throughout the windows at the raising moon, soon enough they arrived at their destination, doors leading to their captains office where they were given orders every night.

Star raised his hoof just about to knock on the door…

“No bucking way you did that!”

Both bat ponies looked at each other in confusion before turning around and noticing their two friends, Supernova and Void coming towards them through the hallway.

“I totally did and she agreed.”

“There’s no way in Tartarus that she agreed to go on a date with you! You’re just a freaking guard and she’s the Princess!”

“Guys, what the heck are you talking about? And stop shouting for Faust sake.” Adamant Sky asked his approaching friends.

“This cocky bastard claims that he asked our Princess out on a date, and she agreed.” Void said with rather furious expression, on the other hand Supernova stood there proudly puffing out his chest.

“You did what?!” Now Adamant shouted in disbelief which resulted in Dashing Star covering his ears on reflex.

“What? You too?! Well then Mr. Fastest-flier-in-whole-of-Equestria what about you? You don’t believe me as well?” Supernova asked turning his attention towards Dashing Star.

“Well I…”

“What the Tartarus is going on here?!” Dashing Star was cut off by the Captain of the Night Guard who was standing in the open doors, he was a huge bat pony with dark-brown fur and scarlet red mane, he had a huge X-shaped scar on his muzzle as well as many others smaller ones hidden under his armor.

“Oh captain Riddick, we were just…” Supernova tried to explain but was soon cut off by him.

“To be honest I don’t care what was all that shouting about, but let me catch you four screaming at my doors once more and mark my words, you will wish to be banished to the moon, you got that?!”

All four bat ponies nodded quickly quite intimidated, Riddick nodded and gave them their assignments for tonight, luckily enough they were going to patrol the same area, Canterlot Royal Gardens, just on the night when they really needed to talk.

What a coincidence.

Soon enough four night guards stepped into the gardens and got on their posts, for first few minutes silence fell on them like rain on a rainy day.

But every rain must stop sooner or later and so did their silence.

“Ok Nova, let’s get this out of the way, did you really ask our Princess out?” Void Night asked.

Supernova nodded.

“And she, said yes?” He asked another question with a bit of hesitation in his voice.

Nova just stood there for few moments wanting to build some tension like he saw on the movies, but after few quick seconds he nodded his head once again.

And the rain of silence came back upon them as everypony pondered over the information Supernova just revealed, but soon enough Adamant Sky smiled and walked up to Nova.

“Well I don’t know if this is true or not, but I guess I will believe you and soo…” He finished by raising his hoof in the air.

“Dude you have a date with a Princess, I require a brohoof.”

Nova smiled as well and bumped his hoof with Adamant, Void and Star looked at each other, shrugged and walked up to Nova repeating the gesture.

“Thanks guys, I guess that’s cool.” Supernova said trying to look like he didn’t care that much.

“Cool? Cool?! Come on man you’re having a DATE with the PRINCESS OF THE NIGHT, that’s not cool that is Legen…” He suddenly stopped making other three bat ponies look at him with confusion.

“..wait for it.” He added.

And they did.

But soon got tired of waiting and Void turned towards Supernova “So my friend there are so many questions I want to ask but firstly, where are you going to take her?”

Nova’s expression melted into panic upon hearing his friend words “I-I didn’t think about that yet.”

“Well then, when are you going on your date?” Void asked with confident look on his muzzle.

“Saturday night.”

Suddenly Void’s confidence melted into a frown “Dude that’s like… two days from now?”

Nova sat there in panic, all the colors left his face along with his earlier confidence.

“Ok man, don’t worry we will figure this out.” Void said and quickly looked around making sure nopony else was in the garden at the moment.

“Ok let’s sum this up, you want to go on a date with Princess who, because of her duties, doesn’t really leave the castle, not counting the travels connected to her job.”

“Ok” Nova added with hope in his voice “What does that give us?”

“Absolutely nothing.”

Nova facehoofed.

“Maybe you could take her to a Club?”

Void and Nova turned towards Dashing Star.

“Club?”

“Yeah, you know these night clubs with loud music and stuff, I never was in one but I heard it’s a lot of fun.”

Suddenly Supernova hugged him in a way friends do sometimes “Star you don’t talk too much but when you it’s always brilliant.”

“Well I do actually talk a lot, it’s just you guys are constantly cutt…”

“...DARY!”

All three bat ponies turned towards Adamant Sky and simultaneously facehoofed.

After that the four friends returned to their duties and started to patrol Royal Gardens, not wanting to have anymore trouble with Captain Riddick.

However unbeknownst to them a pair of red eyes was watching throughout their whole conversation, and he was more than amused at what he learnt.
