Chapter Ten:

Fully Rested and Operational

Axe woke up with his leg feeling a little better. He looked down and saw Spark still with her head laying on his chest with a little drool on his coat. He didn't mind it and let her sleep on him.

Spark woke up slowly seeing drool on his coat. She looked at him and said “I'm sorry Axe, I didn't mean for me to drool on you.”

“It's ok it doesn't bother me” he said with a smile.

Spark got up off him and saw the camp fire has burnt out with smoke coming from the burnt sticks.

Axe just laid there and watched Spark. She stood on her hind legs, stretched, and yawned. He watched her and just stared at her as she fell back on her four legs.

Wow, I have never seen Spark look this hot before. Especially on a morning. What am I thinking? I don't...I couldn't...do I?

“Get up Axe...we still have a long way to walk and you're holding us back from your injured leg. We cant go behind schedule.”

“What?...Oh sorry.”

Axe got up slowly and started folding the blanket.

“What wrong Axe?,”said Spark catching him off guard with his mind wondering with so many thoughts that he could blurt them out loud at any second to Spark.

“um..uh...nothing.”

“You sure cause you have been acting weird this morning,” catching him off guard again.

“uh...I'm pretty sure. I'm just...tired,” lied Axe.

“Does your leg still hurt?”

“A little less then before.”

“Thats good news.”

“What?”

“Well I'd thought you be happy with your leg feeling better.”

“You sound like you're trying to rush the healing.”

“No I'm not.”

“Yes you are.”

“NO I'm not.

“YES you are.”

What's your problem?”

“Nothing what yours?”

“I'm not talking to you anymore.”

“Lets just go. You lead and I follow yadda yadda yadda.”

“No.”

“Why?”

“I don't like being talked to like that.”

Axe sighed and then he said in defeat “I'm sorry Spark. For my intolerable actions Spark.”

Spark looked at him and then said “I forgive you Axe. Now...lets get ready and go. We're burning daylight.”

Axe nodded with a grin and picked up the blanket with his mouth and put it into Spark's saddle bag.

Spark smiled at him and then used her magic to levitate the saddle bag onto her back.

“Now I believe we have to go this way to get to the river.”

“Well you know more then I do so where ever you think it is then lets go for it.”

“Yeah my senses say that we were planning to go this way but we stopped to camp for the night.”

Spark immediately started running through the forest and Axe had a hard time keeping up.

“WAIT! Great she ditched me, its gonna be real easy to survive now! Son of a bitch,” he said to himself as he went to maximum speed to attempt to catch up with her.

As Axe paced himself, he saw Spark at an edge of a cliff surrounded by small mountains covered with snow.

“What are you doi...”

“Look!”

“Wait is that...”

“It is. Thank you Celestia I knew you'd help us!”

“Well what are we waiting for? Lets...”

“Get down there? Great idea.”

“You just love...”

“Interrupting me? Yes I do.”

“Yeah. Like that.”

Spark started laughing at what he said and kept tugging on him to get to the river fast.

“Whoa slow down! Your making my leg hurt!”

“Do you know what else I saw besides the river?”

“What?”

“FOOD!”

“What where?”

“I saw some grass on the other side of the river that can suite our standards.”

“Seriously or are you bluffing?”

“Really seriously!”

“This better not be a trick or I swear that would be torture.”

“You're funny!,” Spark said as she laughed.

“I'm confused how was that funny? A matter aff...,” Axe paused himself before going any further with his questionable opinion.”

“What?”

“Nothing I'll tell you tonight.”

“ Okay but we still got a long walk to the river you can tell me now and get it over with. I'll be happy to answer your question.”

“I...will ask you tonight. First lets just get ourselves to the other side of the river.”

“Fine.”
