Chapter 6: The Nasty Grogar

 

The gang arrives in another part of the woods; some of them are still feeling saddened over Spike's head and Lorcan's departure, not believing what has happened.

"Lorcan..." Luna said in sadness.

"Can you believe that crazy dragon?! How could he call me a drama queen when I acted so much nice to him?" Rarity asks her friends while rambling in a drama queen style. "I mean, have I ever acted like that? I am not a drama queen nor do I ever act like one."

"Dis is why he called ya 'dat!" Apple Bloom exclaims to Rarity, much to the white unicorn's shock.

"How dare you!"

"No! How bout I show you...you." Fred said as he then morphs into Rarity. "Help me! Eeew, I hate mud and dirt! Ooooh, that dress you're wearing is a dress! No! My life is ruined, ruined because of bas fashion!"

"I don't act like that!" Rarity snaps to Fred in annoyance.

"Come on, we don't have time for this nonsense." Megan said to her friends with a sigh as Fred changes back to normal. "We still got to find the Moochick."

"I can't believe that Spike is dead, man." Rainbow said with a groan then frowns. "Whoever took his life is going down!"

"Huh. Those pink legs look familiar, especially the way they bounced." Nyx said in concern, wondering where she saw those pink legs before.

The group saw two ladybugs and attacks them. The minions try to escape but they got rid of them quickly. The gang took the right path, destroying the plant there.

"Into the hole," Alpha Prime said as the gang jumps down, following the path in the hole. They either jump across a gap while some of them flew across.

Now the gang reaches an intersection with Scootaloo asking, "So where do we go from here now?"

Outside the pathway, a familiar pair of pink legs bounces up and down again, causing one of the pathways to get destroyed. Sweetie yelps, "Oh great!"

"Troggle," Megan exclaims as the gang saw a Troggle which Luna fires at, destroying the thing.

"Come on." Luna said sternly.

The gang jumps onto a glowing mushroom and bounce off to a path with crystals. Next they walk onto the narrow bridge while taking the right path way, flying across in the next area.

Now Megan's group came to the ledge, heading to some cards by the crystals and following the path. Nyx comments, "Wow, more cards."

"Let's go." Rainbow remarks to Nyx. The group climbs onto the ledges at the end of the path and saw a plant. Alpha Prime destroys the creature before the gang continues on.

The gang now took the path while getting rid of two ladybugs in the way. Next they jump and grabs a rope. Rarity saw something, making her exclaims, "Angry plant and Troggles nearby!"

Megan uses her knife to strike down the Troggles while Alpha Prime flew down and took down the plant. Everyone jumps off and heads to where the Troggles came from, jumping into a hole and head down a tunnel.

Suddenly Megan and friends heard a noise, making a human girl ask in concern, "What the hell was that?" They look outside to see the ladybugs screeching like mad, then a few came with one of them holding a giant marble.

"Crap, everyone run!" Rainbow exclaims in alarm.

"Why?" Ed asks Rainbow in confusion. As if to answer his question, the giant marble was thrown, rolling onto the path at them.

"That's why, stupid! Run!"

Most of the group panic as they ran quickly. Rarity whines, "Oh, I didn't expect to be run down by a boulder today!"

"Stop whining and keep going, don't look back!" Fred exclaims to Rarity in alarm.

The heroes kept running down the path and saw some mushrooms. Alpha Prime calls out, "Quickly, this way!" The gang jumps onto them, allowing the heroes to reach other side to escape the marble.

Megan's group crosses the bone bridge, reaching an icy lake. As they run to the other side, the gang yelps while falling down through the ice, "Whoa!"

The gang lands on the ground, which is slippery. Sweetie exclaims, "Wow, this ice is sure slippery."

"How about we skate fro' here," Apple Bloom suggests to the others thoughtfully.

"I am not good at skating." Alpha Prime said a bit uneasily at the idea of skating. "Perhaps we should."

"Come on! It'll be fun!"

Alpha Prime looks concerned but agrees to do some skating, the gang slid on the ice, keeping their balance. Some of them laughs while Rarity exclaims eagerly, "Amazing! This is fun, actually!"

Once the gang got across the ice, they found a ledge that has two paths. Megan said, "Let's take the right path."

Megan and her friends climb/fly down some rocks, and arrive to the lowers ones then head to the lower stone bridge. As they follow it, Rainbow spots something and picks it up, asking, "What is this thing?"

"Looks like an ice wand." Nyx said as she observes the ice wand in Rainbow's possession.

Twilight appears, speaking mysteriously, "Withering cold freezes an enemy more completely than the deep wounds. Warning though: winter doesn't last forever."

Twilight disappears while the bridge fell behind the group. Luna said, "Best we take the narrow path."

The gang did so, dodging a falling rock while jumping over to the next part of the path. They walk around a big pillar and climb up the rocky part to the left, returning to the ledge where Megan's group first started at earlier.

Megan's group heads back to the stones to the right and right at the tunnel they went to before they themselves found the ice wand. Scootaloo sighs in annoyance, "Man, this is not going well."

"I know. How could things get worst?" Sweetie asks with a sigh.

As if to jinx it, a familiar boulder is heading right to the group. Apple Bloom exclaims in alarm, "Gah! Yew had 'ta say it!"

The gang run nonstop to escape the boulder, reaching the opening and going off to the side to cause it to past by them. They then saw more ladybugs, killing them before following the path to the right of the exit.

Megan and her friends spots some smoke and heads over to a clearing where someone is making dinner. It's a balding gnome with a gray beard, a green hat, a green jacket, a brown belt, a green suit, a pair of brown boots and an old cane. This is the Moochick.

"Moochick," Megan calls out to the Moochick who notices her and her friends.

"Oh yes, Megan...you've returned." The Moochick said to the group with a nod.

"Wait, weren't yew absent-minded or something?" Apple Bloom asks the Moochick in surprise.

"Yes, but I have gotten better over time. Must be the changes in Equestria; Spike must've send you to me."

"Yes, but he never told us why." Nyx explains to the Moochick in sadness.

"And now...Spike's gone with Lorcan leaving us." Megan said in sadness to the Moochick.

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. As for the reason why, it's because Equestria, which was once Ponyland, is severely damaged," The Moochick explains to Megan and her friends sternly. "Megan, you and your friends must set right what is wrong! That's why!"

"But I barely recognize this awful place anymore. What is it to me?"

"It's home...well, it could be. Having lost what you loved, you nearly wiped us out. Megan, you've started rebuild but your task, as well as your pain, is not over."

"She's right, Megan." Alpha Prime said to Megan in agreement. "Equestria has been tainted with darkness since your last visit because of what happened to your family."

"How did you know that I lost my family?" Megan asks Alpha Prime in concern.

"Let's say that when you're an Autobot like me, you know these things."

"Still, why must I suffer?"

The Moochick pauses then sighs, "Because, Megan, your mind is fouled by self-deception, even your fantasies are being discorded into torture versions of themselves. You are wracked with guilt as you have survived, fearing the prospect of a life alone."

"But she isn't alone." Nyx said to the Moochick gently.

"She got us, all of us..." Luna adds in but looks a bit down in sadness. "Well, not all of us..."

"As long as we're here for Megan, she is not truly alone." Sweetie said with a smile on her face, making Megan feel a bit better.

"So what do you think I must do?" Megan asks the Moochick in concern.

"You must destroy Celestia...or at least the corruption that took her." The Moochick said seriously to Megan. "Once that's done, your entire world will be whole again. I must rest now. You all must regain your normal size."

"Yeah...but…"

"Grow up, Megan, and embrace the truth. Travel to Tambelon and nibble on the mushroom of life and take care. The voracious Grogar guards it sinisterly and rules over what you require."

"Grogar? As in the ruler of Tambelon," Rainbow asks the Moochick puzzled. "I thought both were cast away into that shadowy place centuries ago!"

"When Equestria got corrupted by the darkness, the barriers between our world and the shadow one got broken down, allowing Tambelon and Grogar to return." Luna explains to her friends in concern. "Celestia didn't bother to do anything about it due to her own corruption."

"Make sense to me!" Fred remarks in amazement.

The Moochick then uses his magic to make a portal. Apple Bloom said with a nod, "'Dat must be a portal 'ta where Tambelon is at."

The group jumps into the portal, heading to the Tambelon area. They must eat the mushroom of life to get big again, one way or another.

Megan's group arrives at a strange place, landing on the ground as four monsters roar at them. Rainbow remarks, "I got these guys." The pony uses the ice wand before breaking them into pieces.

Megan and friends goes down the tunnel and found another monster which Alpha Prime got rid of quickly. Now they saw two Troggles with a fighter one which the two Changelings got rid of.

The gang continues onward, fighting another mushroom along the way. Rainbow comments, "Damn, and I thought that bitch Gilda was bad enough."

Two ladybugs came and attacking, Scootaloo uses the mallet to hit them before Nyx quickly finishes them off. As Megan and her friends move onward past a mushroom, a plant woke up and tries to attack.

"Freeze," Megan exclaims as she took the Ice Wand from Rainbow and froze the plant before destroying it.

The gang continues on, destroying three monsters and three Troggles. Once that's done, they went past the root and under a big tree where they found two Meta Essence in some water, along with a Piranha.

"I got him." Megan said while throwing a knife right at the Pirahna, killing it.

The ones who can't fly put on their bracelets and dive into the water, swimming and crossing it. After getting to land, the gang got rid of the monster and move on, dealing with a plant and another Troggle.

The group goes to the right, Alpha spots something as he pick them up, asking, "Another Demon Dice?"

"Best to save them," Nyx said to Alpha Prime thoughtfully. "We may need them for another time."

The group continues along the way, dealing with mushrooms on the right. Soon they came across a big dark city known as Tambelon. Upon arriving, a roar is heard, "You foolish weaklings of warriors! Form a line!"

"That must be Grogar." Ed said, getting a bit worried by the tone of voice.

"It is, I know that tone of voice anywhere." Megan said with a deep frown. The group heads into the castle and moves forward, seeing several Troggles that point their weapons at them. "Yes, I was right."

"No good!" Fred yelps in worry at the frowns made by the Troggles.

Inside a tower where a mushroom is at, a monster roars. It's a giant blue goat with bloody red eyes, the usual beard and is wearing a collar of red with orange circles and a silver bell. His name is Grogar.

"Bring the intruders to my tower!" Grogar roars to the Troggles sinisterly. "They shall pay for their insolence one by one as I dispose of them!"

The group yelps as they were forced into the tower where Grogar was at. The Troggles point their weapons. Megan sighs, "Figures Grogar is forcing you all into this."

The Troggles push the heroes into what appears to be a giant tiki mouth. They scream as Megan and her friends slide through a tunnel and right into a den where Grogar is waiting for them.

"What is this? The human known as Megan, the one who helped the ponies beat me before, has returned? And with no friends," Grogar taunts Megan's group as they got up, "Ha ha ha! And here I thought you couldn't get more foolish!"

"Watch it, jerk!" Rainbow exclaims to Grogar furiously. "We ain't afraid to take you on!"

"Right, get ready to fall once more, Grogar!" Megan exclaims to Grogar in agreement.

"Time to did, human," Grogar roars madly. He slams his hooves, sending out spiders at the group.

"Gah; Spiders," The Changelings exclaims in alarm as they and their pals dodge the spiders while hitting them away.

"Get away from us, disgusting freaks!" Rarity exclaims while using her magic to get rid of some of the spiders.

"Megan, listen, use the ice wand on Grogar. When he's frozen, I will use my lasers to finish him off!" Alpha Prime exclaims a plan to Megan in determination.

Grogar roars as he fires out a blast at the group, but they dodge it in time. Fred and Ed quickly distract the fiend as he slams his hooves right at him. Megan jumps at the goat villain and uses the Ice Wand, freezing all but his head.

"What; No! This cannot be happening!" Grogar exclaims in shock and alarm.

"Yes it is, now time to end this!" Alpha Prime exclaims as he points his laser at Grogar. "Never again will you and your Tambelon forces plague Equestria!"

Alpha Prime fires a huge blast at Grogar, the villain screams as he got blown into pieces. The heroes sigh in relief, Grogar is gone for good.

"Time for us to get big again." Megan said as she and her pals get some pieces from the mushroom that Grogar was guarding."Or at least back to normal."

Twilight teleports in, speaking up, "I never trust toadstool, but I guess some have their good points, I guess."

"Makes me wish I was hallucinating myself."

"Horrible choice, eh," Scootaloo ask in amusement to her friends. "Either be food for the insects or eat mushrooms. I rather take the second choice."

The group eats their mushrooms pieces...then feel the rumbling, making them all yelp in surprise, "Whoa!" Look like they are returning to normal somewhat.

"While it's rude to eat and run, sometimes it's unavoidable." Twilight remarks as her friends begin return to normal somehow...

Soon Megan and her friends are in a new area. The girl looks around, saying, "I remember this place. We're near Flutter Valley."

"It's now the Flutter Province now." Luna corrects Megan in worry. "My sister Celestia has declared war on the Flutterponies, sending her special troops to take them on."

"We got to help them!"

Twilight appears once more, speaking, "The dimensions of this desolate tract are unknown to every pony...minus the inhabitants. Only one path will get you to the endgame."

Once Twilight disappears, Fred notices something, making him asks, "What is that thing?"

"Yikes, a Mini Demon," Ed screams like a filly as a Mini Demon appears, roaring.

"I will take care of him." Luna said as she fires a blast at the Mini Demon, sending the creature to the lava below. "We must go onward."

The group jumps/fly over the lava, following a path down and climbing down some stones. Along the way, Megan spots some sort of the staff and pick it up, asking, "I wonder what this thing is."

Twilight teleports in, speaking, "The Discord Staff is very powerful, but its individual pieces are worthless than the carcass of a Parasprite."

"Discord?"

"An evil Spirit of Chaos and Disharmony," Alpha Prime explains to Megan with a frown. "He loves to make chaos and madness throughout Equestria, appearing only twice."

"One thing, that creep discorded me and my friends." Rarity explains to Megan in an upset tone of voice. "If it weren't for Twilight, we would've been lost."

"Last time, Twilight and her friends has defeated Discord, turning him into a statue." Luna explains to Megan with a nod.

"You think Discord is loose again?" Megan asks Luna in worry.

"Must be the case, with Equestria turning darker and chaotic, I wouldn't be surprised."

"You need the pieces from somewhere else and Discord in order for the Discord Staff to work." Twilight explains to her friends a bit madly. "Good luck."

Just then a gate is heard opening. Nyx comments, "Sounds like a gate is opening. Let's go; Later, mommy!"

Once Twilight disappears, Megan's group head down to the path, following it back up before jumping over the lava again; They saw a sign nearby which Rarity reads, "'Beware of Lava Demons. Flutter Province is up ahead'; Lava Demons? Aren't they nice now?"

Of course a Lava Demon appears, making the group gasps. This made Nyx exclaims, "Try telling him that!"

Megan uses the ice wand to freeze the Lava Demon, destroying it. Then a Phantasmagoria appears at the group but they took it down before killing it. Next the heroes head through a tunnel. After getting out, Megan's group saw two Boojums and a Mini-Demon appearing, ready to attack.

"Not these jerks again!" Apple Bloom exclaims with a groan. Regardless, Megan, Rainbow, Alpha Prime and Luna quickly took out the enemies.

Just then Ed yelps as he saw two Unicorn Royal Guards up on the roof of the tunnel, "Yipes!"

"We got them." Megan said seriously as she and Alpha Prime took the two Royal Guards out and not for dinner, let me tell you!

Once that's done, the group heads to the right, grabbing three Meta Essence hidden on a ledge above the lava. Then they took the left path and saw two Boojums. Rainbow remark, "Kick their asses, Alpha Prime."

Alpha Prime nods as he attacks the Boojums, destroying them. Now the heroes follow the path further one, reaching a cave to the left.

As Megan's group arrives in a new area, a voice greets them, "To destroy the palace that is your mission, is the daring work of noble Megan. An endgame with Celestia is possible only after you defeat her ally, the vile, chaotic and vengeful Discord! Without the staff that bears his name, destroying it is a hopeless work of a wasted life."

The group glances at the cave while Megan shows the first piece that she found, saying, "We got one piece of the eye staff."

"Right, where are the others?" Nyx ask the voice curiously.

"Scattered throughout Equestria; only when you have them all in hoof will victory be possible, the Flutterponies may be of use." The voice explains.

"Obsure allusions to my friends are fine, but it troubles me that anonymous oracles seem to know more of my business than I do." Megan remarks to her friends with a frown on her face.

The gang goes over to the three Meta Essence which is located at the end of the place. Two Boojums attack the heroes as they got rid of them along with three Mini Demons. Once those baddies are dead, the good guys continue back to the path where they destroy another Boojum and more Mini Demons.

Megan and her friends move on, getting rid of another Phantasamgoria while getting three Meta Essences. Scootaloo notes that Rainbow is wearing black slippers, making her ask, "Hey, Rainbow? Where did you get those black slippers?"

"That is none of your concern, meatbag!" Rainbow snaps to Scootaloo. The others look a bit startled by the Pegasus pony's tone of voice...not to mention that it sounded rather...robotic; odd.

Megan and company arrive in the tunnel again and exit it. Now they head straight, taking a left turn to reach the home of the Flutterponies known as Flutter Province. Two Boojums appear and attack them. Rainbow and Luna got rid of them quickly.

Megan and her friends saw a few black ponies in armor appearing, wearing certain armor. Nyx gulps, "Those looks like members of the cult that used to worship me....but why?"

Twilight appears in front of the gang, startling the group. Rarity exclaims, "Goodness, Twilight! Don't do that!"

"You do know the moves, Megan. Best play the Flutterponies." Twilight advises to Megan carefully. "They go first here."

"Such order in the middle of chaos makes me woozy and disoriented." Megan said in amusement that such order can be found in a hell like Equestria.

"Yes, but the regularity of the battlefield disguises the major menace of certain ponies."

Twilight disappears as the armored ponies attack Megan's group. The gang got rid of them quickly and furiously. Soon they saw an Earth Pony Royal Guard with a Pegasus one. Alpha Prime kills them quickly.

"There's a portal!" Megan exclaims as she saw a portal heading to Flutter Province. A Unicorn Royal arrives to attack the good guys but Rainbow quickly slashes him, killing the guard instantly.

Megan and her friends nod as they jump through the portal, entering the Flutter Province itself.

 

Author's note
Looks like to defeat Celestia, Megan must assemble the Discord Staff. But where are the other two pieces? In the next chapter, the heroes arrive in the Flutter Province where they must help the Flutterponies fight off the cult members that used to worship Nightmare Moon (from 'Past Sins') but to save a friend of theirs, they must defeat the insane Sir Spell Nexus! But another old friend of theirs is waiting for them. Read, review and suggest.

 

The Moochick is the lovable but absent-minded gnome who helped Megan and her friends in the first series of My Little Pony.

 

Grogar is the evil leader of Tambelon from the first series.

 

I got the new name of Flutter Province from 'The Elements of Harmony and the Savior of Worlds'.
