Chapter 8: A Suspicious Truth

Some of the heroes muffles in worry. Hoagie exclaims, "Hey! Myxy, what gives in taking our gals and friends hostage?!"

"Yeah, start talking or..." Stitch growls as he prepares to assault Myx.

"Hold it! I could do terrible things to them as well as other prisoners that Chef told me about over the phone unless you two back out of the race!" Myx exclaims wickedly as he points to the prisoners.

"Wait, what? Youga want us to drop out of race?!"

"As well as give up the glitch girls along with Mikey! So how about it?"

Trent spits out the gag angrily as he protests, "Don't listen him! He's lying to you just like he lied to Heavy and DJ to make them try to get Gwen, Mike and Zoey out of the race!"

Angelilo removes her own gag, exclaiming, "Yeah, don't listen to him! Whatever he's doing to Gwen, he's..."

"Wait, stop!" Gwen exclaims as she, Mike and Zoey came out of hiding. "Myx, are you saying that you lied to Heavy?!"

"I knew it! I knew it!" Zoey exclaims furiously. "We don't know what you told Heavy and DJ to cause them to go against us and for Heavy to break our karts but that is low!"

"Hey, Gwen! Wow, I didn't think you were real!" Numbuh 3 exclaims cheerfully.

"Oh, so you're the one who helps me get into the race sometimes?" Gwen ask the girl in surprise. "Wow."

"Yeah, more like 'very stupid' wow." Numbuh 4 remarks grudgingly, causing Numbuh 3 to kick him. "Ouch! What?!"

"Look, Myx, just because you don't like Gwen, Mike and Zoey, doesn't mean they don't belong to this game!" Pleakley exclaims to Myx sternly. "Who knows? They may belong to this game all along!"

"Shut up! Listen, I will give the hostages up if you give up the racers and the position in the race in return! Otherwise..." Myx exclaims as he pushes a button, moving the crane with the hostages over to a lava pit that is hidden nearby. "...these guys will be having one hot cola bath! Ha ha ha!"

"You monster!" Jumbaa exclaims furiously to the crazy evil king. "Even evil genius like me wouldn't stoop that low!"

"So how about it?"

"Wait, stop, don't do it!" Gwen exclaims in horror. "Don't hurt them!"

"Right!" Numbuh 5 exclaims after spitting her gag out. "Don't listen to them, Hoagie, Stitch! Forget about us! We rather die than let any harm come to you guys and them!"

"Awww, man, this is conflicting!" Hoagie exclaims with a groan while slapping his forehead. Should he give up the hostages or the glitches, Trent and the position in the race?

"Wait, stop!" Stitch exclaims frantically. "Don't hurt family! Stitch will drop out of race if it means keeping them safe."

"Don't listen!" Trent exclaims frantically. "Our lives isn't worth it! The king, he's..."

"Decision time in 5, 4, 3, 2..." Myx exclaims as he reaches for the button to drop the hostages in to their doom.

"Wait, stop!" Mike exclaims as he, Gwen and Zoey walks up. "Don't do it."

"We give up, we will turn ourselves in." Gwen said in tears in her eyes. "Don't harm them, especially Trent."

"Awww, how cute!" Angelilo exclaims happily. "You two really do make a cute couple."

"Just let them go and we will go in their places." Zoey said in sadness while looking down. The race isn't worth it, if her friends get hurt.

"All right, fine. I will give up my position too." Hoagie said gloomy. He doesn't want his friends to get hurt, even though it means that Gwen, Trent, Mike and Zoey get locked up too.

"Deal!" Myx exclaims wickedly as he moves the crane, dropping the newcomers near Hoagie and Stitch. Trent is the only one being held. "I am keeping Trent BTW, but I MAY release him one the race is over."

Myx then pushes another button, sending a rope onto Gwen, Mike and Zoey, tying them up. Gwen, teary eyed, said, "I'm sorry...and if you find Heavy, tell him I'm sorry...."

"Now stay out of the race if you value their lives." Myx said, giving a stern look to the Freelance Police while Stitch works on getting rid of the ropes that is tying up the KND operatives and aliens.

"Yeah, considered us dropped...but we're keeping the car!" Hoagie exclaims sternly to the king.

"Eh, fair enough."

And thus, Myc leaves with the Total Drama racers as his hostages. Stitch nods as he finishes untying the others. They are freed, but their new friends are captured.

"Wow, you guys gave up your positions just to help us?" Numbuh 5 ask Hoagie and Stitch in amazement.

"Yeah, can't let my pals get hurt." Hoagie said with a nod. "Too bad we lost our new ones. What are you guys doing here?"

"Evil genius and group was with commander girl and her pals from game you, 626, and big villain man was in coming in here with little fixing men." Jumbaa explains to Hoagie and Stitch as to why they're here. "Turns out you brought Heartless into game."

"No worries, it sank into the taffy pool!" Stitch exclaims happily. "It's not a problem now!"

"But Heartless are hard to kill!" Numbuh 4 exclaims in alarm upon hearing that.

"Well, how did you guys got into the video game world?" Hoagie ask the others as to how they end up in the video game world.

"We were playing Warrior's Duty back at the arcade, Jumbaa jammed a quarter into the arcade, and things got crazy." Angelilo explains to Hoagie, causing Jumbaa to clear his throat awkwardly. "What were you two and Heavy doing in there?"

"Oh, Heavy wanted to win a medal to beat Carter Pewterschmidt's challenge and we wanted to get home."

"Oh, well, evil genius can make way to do so without going through all that mess." Jumbba said to the heroes, much to their surprise. Why didn't Hoagie and Stitch thought of that before?

"We better get to back to Fix It Hiccup and Wander!" Hoagie exclaims as he and Stitch got into their car. "Heavy must know that he was lied to and maybe the possible Heartless threat!"

Everyone got into the cart and zips off with Pleakley screaming like a girl. This is going to be one big drive!

A familiar small train pulled into the station, ringing its bell as Heavy returns sadly to Fix It Hiccup and Wander, this time with Sev and Scorch in tow. He got his medal and saved his friends. But at what cost?

As Heavy looks up, he saw the apartments all quiet and dark. Perhaps the citizens didn't know that he was coming back. Heavy then spots a light coming from the penthouse, someone must be up.

"Come on." Sev said with a nod as Heavy sighs, getting out of the train with the soldiers.

A while later, Heavy, Sev and Scorch came into the apartment, looking around. The big guy spoke, "Hello? Anyone home? Err, Hiccup? Wander? Lois?"

"Well, so you went and did it after all." A familiar voice said dryly. Everyone turns to see Carter sitting at the bar, drinking a Martini as if he was waiting.

"Carter? Where is everyone?"

"Well, they're gone. After Hiccup and Wander left to look for you and didn't return, they panicked and jumped ship."

"Wait, what?" Heavy ask in surprise with the soldiers looking surprised. Hiccup and Wander are missing now? "Boy I'm here now, I came back! Just let Hiccup and Wander know I am okay and..."

"Too late, Heavy." Carter snaps bitterly to Heavy, interrupting the big guy. "Bundy is pulling our plug in the morning."

"So wait, you're giving up?" Scorch ask Carter in disbelief.

"Yeah, he's actually doing it! Look outside and see."

Carter points to the balcony causing Heavy and the soldiers to peek out, seeing something to their shock that they failed to notice until now: an "Out of Order" sign taped right onto the console window! With Heavy missing earlier, that means...

"No...what's going on?" Heavy ask in concern to Carter.

"What did you expect? Your little stunt caused our game to be out of order." Carter sighs. As he finishes his martini, the man got up and takes the keys out, handing it to Heavy. "But of course, I am a man of my word. The place is yours, Heavy. Enjoy it...well, until the whole place comes crashing down."

"So you got your wish then." Sev said gloomy to Heavy who looks at the keys bitterly.

Carter takes his suitcase and heads to the door. Heavy spoke up in an upset matter, "Carter, wait." The man stops, glancing as he continues, "Listen...this isn't what heavy wanted."

"So what did you want, Heavy?" Carter ask Heavy with a frown.

"Don't know...I just...Heavy was tired of living alone in garbage."

"Well, newsflash! You can now live alone in the penthouse. Enjoy it while you can."

"Wait!" Sev exclaims, grabbing Carter by the shoulder, stopping him from leaving. "You could've at least fulfilled your promise to the Users and get them home!"

"Right, and don't you even care about Heavy's loneliness?" Scorch ask in agreement and concern. He is shocked that Carter would be insensible here.

"Yes, I know about his loneliness...and he will may as well deal with it! The big stupid gorilla was meant to be alone! He's a clumsy idiot, got a bad temper, shoots off his gun like a maniac, toss me away from my apartment every time we start the game and got no social skills outside of being a bad guy!" Carter scowls at the soldiers, much to their and Heavy's shock. "Oh, and newsflash. I was being sarcastic earlier! And there is no other way back for your User pals here!"

"Then you lied?!"

"Yeah! Well, take one last look at this place, Heavy. It's be the last time before it goes crashing down like you always do when you break stuff!"

Sev looks outraged. Carter has started this whole mess by making a challenge...when he was sarcastic and lying in the first place! The soldier got his gun out, preparing to attack but Heavy stops him, saying bitterly, "Forget it. He isn't worth it."

Carer frowns as he leaves the penthouse, leaving the trio alone. Sev sighs as he put his gun away. Heavy is right, Carter isn't worth it. He never was anyway.

Heavy shakes his head as he drops the keys. This penthouse is his...until the arcade opens, then it will get destroyed once the game is unplugged. The big man sighs as he turns on the TV which shows a clip from "Clue: MLP Style", showing one of the endings of the movie.

"Well, it won't do any good to blackmail ME anymore, madam. Not only am I broke, but even if I weren't, I would still refuse to pay to the one who killed the mare I still love." Boris snaps sternly to Photo Finish. "At this point, I don't mind going down as long as it means you go down with me. And, if you DO use the last bullet on me, I'll still find a way to come back from the grave just long enough to make you pay for what you did to Trixie."

"He really loved her THAT much?" Spike ask the others in amazement.

Photo Finish admits, "Yes, he DOES. I know. I can sense it. There was only ONE other time I have ever sensed love that strong."

"What?! You can SENSE it?" Upper Crust ask in surprise.

"Never mind."
Spike to the readers spoke up, "That just serves as a little bit of foreshadowing for the REAL ending"

"Even if you DO rat me out, Colonel Boris, my lawyers will make sure I get acquitted and YOU will be the only one going down. And then your replacement can pay me in government secrets." Photo Finish said to Boris wickedly, making him frown angrily.

"Heavy." A familiar voice said. The trio saw Hoagie, Stitch, and their pals come into the apartment. Hoagie, the one who spoke, said, "There you are."

"We would've got here sooner but we have to deal with some stupid mustached jerk at the station!" Numbuh 4 exclaims in annoyance by Carter's attitude earlier.

"And who are they?" Scorch ask, glancing at the newcomers in surprise.

"More of our ohana or family." Stitch remarks to Scorch with a nod.

"Are you okay, Heavy?" Angelilo ask Heavy who shakes his head, going to the balcony while looking at the sign.

"Non. I ruin everything. I destroyed game, game-jumped into another and ruined the lives of four individuals who understand me and were my friends until I backstabbed them. And for what?" Heavy ask, ripping his medal right off his neck in disgust. "To be a foolish hero and FOR A STUPID MEDAL!"

Heavy roars as he threw the medal right to the glass door. As it fell, a ding noise is heard before the paper on the console moved a bit, allowing everyone to see the Total Drama Rush console in the arcade.

"Some hero Heavy was." Heavy said in sadnesss as he took out the candy necklace, clutching it without breaking the necklace.

"Heavy, listen, we know Myx told you that Gwen, Mike and Zoey would die if they got into the race and won, and risk heaving the game unplugged." Pleakley said to Heavy calmly. "But..."

"Wait, that is why Heavy destroy those carts?" Sev ask Pleakley in surprise.

"Yep. He did it to save them...or so he thought anyway."

"And now, Heavy lost three friends." Heavy said, shaking his head in sadness.

"Awww, I'm sure you will see them, especially Gwen who is on the console cover right now." Numbuh 3 said gently as she pats Heavy on the back.

"What are you talking about, Kuki?" Numbuh 4 ask Numbuh 3 confused.

"She's right there, see?"

Numbuh 3 points through the window, causing everyone to take a look. To everyone's, especially Heavy's, surprise, there's Gwen in a racing outfit, driving on the console.

"Wait, she is on the console game!" Numbuh 5 exclaims in surprise. "Wait, she is part of the game?!"

"Hang on. Heavy may be bad guy but even I know that glitches aren't supposed to be on console cover." Heavy said, frowning in suspicion. "Unless..."

"Gah! So imp king has known all along, even when he threatened to harm us into hot cola lava unless fat boy and 626 give up positions and forced glitches to give themselves up!" Jumbaa exclaims furiously and angrily.

"So wait, that's what happened?!"

"Right, Gwen, Mike and Zoey gave themselves up to keep us safe...and unfortunately, Myx also got Wander and Hiccup locked up as well." Angelilo explains clearly to Heavy. Most likely Hiccup and Wander got captured which explained why they didn't come back.

"Ugh! Stupid short man stoop low and tricked Heavy!" Heavy exclaims furiously. He can't believe it! Myx has lied to him all along! "Oh, Heavy should've blasted him when I have chance!"

"Now that is bizarre from all we heard about them." Scorch said.

"We have to confront that imp about this." Hoagie said.

"Won't work, he will be very tight lipped and hard to get to considering race will be starting soon." Heavy said.

"Hmmmm...what about his number 2 Chef, he may know something." Sev suggested.

"Da, let's find him." Heavy said nodding.

"Consider the detainment lifted, for now." Sev told him still upset about what Heavy did.

And thus, everyone leaves the apartment. Time to confront Chef Hatchet and find out what's really going on!

So; Looks like Myx has been lying the whole time! The mystery deepens! In the next chapter, Heavy's group confronts Chef Hatchet who was forced to reveal what's going on, especially with Gwen. A rescue is under way to save Hiccup, Wander, Gwen, Trent, Mike, Zoey, and Boss from the prison. Meanwhile, Astrid's group found something...disturbing. Read, review and suggest.
