It was late afternoon and everypony had gathered at the base, her whole army, her friends who were still around and her allies. Twilight glared at her forces and growled, "Well everypony, we have a serious problem."

Rarity asked, "Twilight, whatever has happened?"

Twilight replied, "Well I have been monitoring what has been going on in the Crystal Empire and Cadence is FAR MORE powerful than I thought."

The very mention of Cadence's name made everypony who knew about her and how she was laugh. Rainbow Dash asked, "Cadence, really? That's a good one Twi. What happened, since she escaped the void have her love spells become more powerful?"

Rainbow's lack of seriousness did not sit well with Twilight. Her eyes began to shine green and she pointed her horn at her friend. Twilight shouted, "NO. SHE HAS BECOME A DARK GODDESS LIKE ME."

Black Mist asked, "Wait a minute? How the hay did she become a dark goddess?"

Twilight realized that screaming and shouting would accomplish nothing. She regained her composure and replied, "Well, here is how I think it happened. First, I think Sombra and Chrysalis have really rubbed off on her. Then the royal guard I banished when we went to get the archives in Canterlot needed to be turned into Alicorns, so Cadence found a spell to do that."

Pinkie asked, "Did she put a lot of energy into that spell?"

Twilight replied, "Unfortunately Pinkie, yes she did. She put more power into it than I did the hurricane spell I cast," She cast a glare in Rarity's direction and added, "Which I wouldn't have had to do if SOMEPONY wouldn't have committed treason so many millennia ago."

Rarity shouted, "Twilight, I was merely doing what I thought was right at the time."

Twilight rolled her yes and continued, "Well when she cast this spell her eyes turned the same color of green as my eyes but her coat turned a darker pink and the damn heart in her cutie mark turned black! So now I have a dark goddess I have to face."

Black Ice asked, "Has she done anything else besides that?"

By this point Twilight's mane and tail were a complete mess and she suddenly didn't have all of her composure. She replied, "Y-Yes captain, she has. She has cast an iron clad loyalty spell on Chrysalis and Sombra! How the hell she has that much power is beyond me, but she did it."

Her forces could tell that she was very upset. Her allies, who are more knowledgeable about things like this realized that Twilight's dark magic may not be enough to defeat the suddenly evil Cadence. They began to talk among themselves. LaurFa said, "Well this does change everything."

Celestia asked, "With Cadence being a dark goddess now, does that mean my Twily will have a harder time with her?"

Twilight heard them talking while she was addressing her forces and was very irritated. She fired a powerful bolt of energy at her allies and shouted, "YOU DO NOT TALK WHILE I AM ADDRESSING YOU!" Her eyes began to shine a bright green and she continued, "What, do you not think this meeting is important enough to give your full attention to? I ought to banish you to the void right now!"

LaurFa replied, "Twilight, you have to calm down. Cadence's transformation will make things more difficult for you. Two ponies with powerful dark magic may not be able to use magic to defeat one another. They may have to fight the earth pony way."

Twilight took off and landed right in front of LaurFa. She shouted, "Oh, and what am I supposed to do? Beat her with my hooves? Bite her? Kick her in the head? Look LaurFa, I'm not an earth pony. I will fight her MY WAY and if you don't like it, the void never runs out of room."

Twilight knew that things were going down hill. She shouted at her troops, "DISMISSED." Twilight took off towards her balcony and her room. She plopped down on her bed burying her face in her hooves. Despite her reaction to LaurFa out at the base, she knew that she was right. She could only hope that Cadence did not know that two dark goddesses can not defeat one another using magic.

Meanwhile in the Crystal Empire a much more confident and composed Cadence had called the entire empire to gather at the base of the crystal tower. She knew that she would need the loyalty of every military member and every civilian to accomplish this. She stood up on her balcony and began, "Citizens and members of the military, very soon we shall embark on an endeavor which shall result in us becoming a superpower!"

A citizen out in the crowd asked, "What is that your Majesty?"

Cadence replied, "Good question citizen. Tomorrow Sombra, Chrysalis and your Dark Goddess shall lead our forces to Ponyville to crush Supreme Commander Colgate and claim Equestria as our own!"

The whole crowd began to cheer as their newly transformed monarch was quickly winning their adoration. While this pleased her she knew that a loyalty spell would still be a good idea. She shouted, "Everypony, I need your complete and absolute, undivided attention."

Her forces and citizens looked up at their monarch to see her glowing a dark pink, her eyes shining green and her horn glowing. She recited, "From another to me, that is where your allegiance will now be, you thought your old commander loved you like pie when all they wanted was for you to die. With me all shall be great, there shall be no hate."

As she recited this a dark pink and black bulb formed at the end of her horn and then spread outwards, quickly being absorbed by everypony. Before she could even ask them who they were loyal to, the whole empire shouted, "ALL HAIL DARK GODDESS CADENCE, OUR ONE AND ONLY LEADER!"

Cadence stood up there on her balcony with an evil grin on her face. She looked down and saw that Chrysalis and Sombra, rather than being in the tower were down with the rest of the crowd. She was ecstatic over this as this made her control of those two even more powerful. She was rubbing her hooves together and said to herself, "This is perfect, soon the Dark Goddess Cadence shall not just rule Equestria, but the whole world!"

While Cadence was eating up all the attention a pegasus pony started floating up towards the tower and asked, "Your Majesty, I have some news that might change things. Could we talk for a minute?"

Cadence, who normally would not allow a pony to enter the tower like this, had a nagging voice in her head telling her to listen to the pony. She motioned for her to follow her into the tower, who was followed by Sombra, Chrysalis, Lieutenant Dark Crystal and Colonel Green Toxin. They all followed Cadence and this pony into the throne room. Cadence wanted to know all about this right away. She glared at the pony and asked, "Who are you and what is it that you have to tell your Dark Goddess?"

The pony replied, "Well my name is Pumpkin Pie and I do a lot of traveling across Equestria and I want you to know that Colgate is no longer in power."

Cadence asked, "Well, who is in power now?"

Pumpkin Pie replied, "Twilight Sparkle has returned to power and she is now a dark goddess."

Cadence's jaw dropped open. She asked, "Twilight Sparkle, a dark goddess?"

Pumpkin Pie replied, "Yes, a dark goddess. I have seen her and her eyes are the same color of green that yours are."

Cadence patted Pumpkin Pie on the back and said, "Thank you for letting us know this. Now we will know who to prepare for." She paused and asked, "Do you know what happened to Colgate?"

Pumpkin Pie replied, "Yeah, I heard that she along with this Alicorn named Fluttershy headed to Neigh Zealand to nuke it, whatever that means. After this pony named Lyra had her forces attack Equestria, Colgate declared war on Neigh Zealand. I'm sorry I don't know more but that is what I heard when I was visiting Ponyville."

Cadence remembered about how tender and sweet Fluttershy was. She was wondering if it was the same Fluttershy from so long ago. She asked, "Pumpkin Pie, is this Alicorn you are talking about yellow with pink hair and does she have three butterflies for a cutie mark?"

Pumpkin Pie replied, "Yep. I take it you know her?"

Cadence replied, "Yes. When I knew her she was a very sweet, loving pegasus. I have a feeling Twilight transformed her and Colgate made her bloodthirsty."

Pumpkin Pie said, "Well when I was down there both her and Colgate seemed to be thirsting for the blood of every Neigh Zealander. It was kind of odd, Fluttershy seemed more bloodthirsty than Colgate." She paused for a minute, got a nervous look on her face and continued, "I'm sorry that is all the information I have. I tried not to look like I was listening in because Colgate brutally punishes those she views to be a threat."

Cadence smiled and asked, "Why are you saying you are sorry? You have let us in on a huge amount of valuable information. Your Dark Goddess would advise that you avoid Ponyville for a while though, because after our invasion and takeover, it will not be the most pleasant place to be. Now we need to discuss some things so could you go back down to town? Oh, and don't tell anypony anything about what we discussed."

Pumpkin Pie nodded and replied, "Yes your Majesty." After that she took off back down into town and flew to her house. Luckily for her and Cadence nopony approached her about anything. In the tower Chrysalis and Sombra had nervous looks on their faces while Cadence had a more determined look on her face than ever.

She saw the nervous looks on their faces and growled, "What's wrong with you two? You act like you are scared."

Chrysalis replied, "Well we are just scared of Twilight. What if she banishes all of us to the void again?"

Cadence rolled her eyes and said, "You know, for two leaders who are supposed to be so evil you sure are chicken when it comes to Twilight. We aren't scared of Twily. We're ready to go in and crush her."

Chrysalis asked, "Your Majesty, she banished you to the void many millennia ago as well. Aren't you worried about her using her dark magic on you too?"

Cadence laughed, "Chrysi, dark goddesses can not use their dark magic on one another. I will have to figure out another way to defeat her." She got this evil grin on her face and continued, "Hmmm......Perhaps I could ram my horn through her heart! Magic won't work on her but brute force will!" Cadence began to lick her chops and finished, "Perhaps your Dark Goddess's victory meal shall be Alicorn steak!"

Sombra asked, "You'd seriously consider feasting on her corpse?"

Cadence was wondering why he would ask that. She asked, "Sombra, you are a dark Alicorn. Why would the thoughts of cannibalism bother you so much? I thought you would want to join us for such a tasty meal!"

Chrysalis and Cadence just nodded and said, "Yes your Majesty. It is whatever you desire."

Her allies knew that she wanted to get this taken care of sooner rather than later. Chrysalis asked, "So when do you want to go through with the invasion?"

Cadence replied, "Tomorrow morning after breakfast we will head out. We shall stop around ten miles away from Ponyville in the forest and rest for the night. The next morning, your dark goddess shall duplicate the changelings and dark Alicorns so we will have a large, strong army when we attack."

Sombra asked, "So are we still going to send the Alicorn guard in first?"

Cadence replied, "Yes, we will. All they know how to do is fire energy and if I know Twilight well enough, she will go after Flash and probably kill him while the rest of us wipe out her forces. Then Yours Truly shall take her out."

Chrysalis asked, "So Flash Sentry is pretty much going to be a sacrificial lamb?"

Cadence was irritated by this question. She glared at her and replied, "So Chrysi, since when have you become so soft?" She paused and continued, "Well no shit he's going to be a sacrificial lamb. His infatuation with her makes him a weak link, so we may as well get that weak link out of our mane." Cadence was starting to get hungry so she finished, "Come on, let's get some food in our stomachs. This negative talk is most unpleasant."

Cadence headed towards the dining hall and was quickly followed by her allies. Chrysalis and Sombra, while they were evil, did not much like the fact that Cadence would sacrifice a pony in such a cold hearted manner. They began to worry that she might see one of them as a weak link and try to take them out as well.
