In the Crystal Empire the three leaders had decided the day to attack Ponyville had come. Sombra, Chrysalis and Cadence were all confident and ready to go, as were their army. Even the royal guard with the exception of one was ready and raring to go. The one pony who was really nervous was Flash Sentry and this irritated Sombra and Chrysalis. It made Cadence far angrier. She stormed over to the captain and shouted, "WHY THE HELL ARE YOU SO SCARED? NONE OF THE REST OF THE GUARD ARE."

Flash was still angry because he had no powers. He shouted, "You know what Cadence, just forget it. I'm not going without any magic to defend myself."

Cadence slapped him so hard it knocked him to the ground. She shouted, "THAT'S COMMANDER CADENCE TO YOU!" When Sombra and Chrysalis saw this, they were beginning to wonder what was happening to Cadence. They knew for sure that she wasn't the sweet little princess that ruled over the Crystal Empire. She then headed over to Chrysalis and Sombra and said, "Well, it looks like somepony wants to die before the battle even starts!"

Sombra growled, "Let me handle this." Sombra believed that perhaps Flash couldn't handle a female authority figure so he marched over to him and asked, "So soldier, it appears as though you are causing your commander quite a few problems. What is your problem?"

Flash growled, "Look, I think you guys wanting us to go in there without magic is ridiculous. Yes I know you will provide us with armor shields but still, those aren't permanent." He paused and continued, "Unless you give me magic, I'm not going."

Sombra threw his hooves up in the air, walked back over towards his allies and said, "Well Commander, it looks like you are right. It looks like somepony is going to have to die before we head off to battle."

Cadence began to lick her chops dreaming of a pegasus dinner when Chrysalis shouted, "Stop! Cadence, before we kill him let's see if we can find a spell. The library here should have some sort of spell."

Cadence growled, "Alright Chrysalis, let's go into the library and find a spell. I just hope this doesn't push our attack too far back."

Sombra added, "You and me both."

They headed to the Crystal Library which has some advanced magic, but nothing compared to the black tower's library. The three looked through the books for five hours before Cadence finally stumbled upon something. She saw a book about transforming ponies into different races of ponies. She called for her allies to come over to her and they read through the book. Chrysalis patted Cadence on the back and suggested, "Well since you are an Alicorn I think it would be best if you worked on this."

Sombra added, "I'm not thrilled over this but we will have to wait until you get this figured out. We will wait to attack until you get the pegasus guardsponies transformed."

Cadence smiled and replied, "Well I'll make sure it doesn't take too long. I want to conquer Equestria just as much as you two do."

Chrysalis and Sombra knew that Cadence would need privacy to go over these books. After supper that night she continued to read over the book and through the spells. Finally around three in the morning it came to her. She said, "A-Ha! I will test these on them tomorrow, well I mean today and if it works, we can get going as soon as they learn how to use the magic!"

After getting a few hours sleep an upbeat Cadence showed up for breakfast that morning. Her good mood was irritating her allies and Sombra wanted to know why she was in a good mood. He asked, "Cadence, why are you in such a good mood?"

Cadence replied, "I believe I have this spell ready. I will need to test it first though."

Chrysalis smiled and suggested, "Well let's eat breakfast first. We can worry about the royal guard afterwards."

After a normal breakfast the three headed to the camp the guardsponies had gathered. Flash saw the three coming and was surprised to see Cadence as the one in front. They walked over to the royal guard and Cadence said, "Well boys, I have quite the surprise for you."

Flash was a bit nervous. He asked, "Uh, what is that C-Commander Cadence?"

Cadence gave them an evil grin and replied, "You'll see. I'm sure you'll like it."

Cadence ordered Flash and his comrades over into an open field and ordered them to stand at attention. She pointed her horn at them, she began to glow pink, her eyes began to shine green, she recited, ""The ones who can fly like to fly free yet they desire the powers that allow the unicorn to be, they wish so much to levitate and create, rather than berate, for the winged ones now have magic, without that it would be tragic."

As she recited the message a powerful beam of dark pink energy shot out of her horn along with green lasers from her eyes. The guardsponies were encircled in energy for five minutes before floating to the ground. Cadence saw the new Alicorn guard and was thrilled. They were shocked when they saw a change in Cadence's appearance. Flash asked, "Uh Commander, you're a darker shade of pink now and are your eyes supposed to be radioactive green?"

Cadence asked, "What are you talking about soldier?"

Sombra and Chrysalis walked around to the front of Cadence and were shocked by what they saw. Chrysalis said, "He's not kidding you Cadence. You are a darker pink and your eyes are a radioactive green, a green of pure evil."

Sombra and Chrysalis looked at each other with a nervous look in their eyes. They realized that since Cadence had used that much energy, darkened her coat and altered her eyes, that she was no longer their subordinate, that she was an equal, if not even more powerful."

Cadence had an evil grin on her face and asked her allies, "What's with the nervous look? They're Alicorns now and all we have to do is teach them to fire energy at the enemy and we can get on with this."

Sombra replied, "Oh we're just surprised by your new appearance. You ought to go take a look at it for yourself."

Cadence nodded and headed to the crystal tower. Chrysalis looked at Sombra and asked, "You know what this means now don't you?"

Sombra replied, "No, I don't. I am assuming that with those new eyes that whatever it is can't be good."

Chrysalis shook her head and said, "It isn't good. There is an ancient legend that if a pony does what she just did, using so much power that it darkens her coat and changes her eyes that color of green, that she is no longer a regular Alicorn."

Sombra gulped, "Don't tell me she is something along the lines of a dark queen like Twilight."

Chrysalis replied, "Well not exactly. She is a Dark Goddess now. I just hope she doesn't know about this old legend. If she does, she will know that she is more powerful than us and we will become HER subordinates."

While Sombra and Chrysalis were talking about Cadence's change, she was up in her bathroom admiring herself in the mirror. She saw that her coat was a darker color, her eyes were a radioactive green and the heart in her cutie mark had turned black. She smiled and began to laugh, "Well, well, well. It looks like we are a Dark Goddess now doesn't it?" She stopped laughing, glared into the mirror and said, "It looks like Dark Goddess Cadence is in charge now! Now we better go put our underlings in line after we study a couple more things."

Cadence knew that she was going to have to quickly learn loyalty spells, armor spells and duplication spells. While Chrysalis knew the duplication spell, Cadence wanted to know them all because she realized she was far more powerful than either one of her allies. After reading through the necessary spells for a couple hours she sped back down to the training grounds.

Sombra and Chrysalis were wondering where Cadence was when she came flying down towards them. Cadence's extended absence angered both of them but a different emotion began to flood their minds when they saw her flying towards them with those shining eyes, FEAR, which is something that neither one of the two have ever experienced, except for when Twilight banished them to the void.

Besides developing Goddess-tier powers, she had also developed the ability to smell and taste fear. She could smell it radiating from her allies so she swooped down and landed in front of them. She sneered, "What's wrong you two? Why are you so scared?"

Chrysalis replied, "What fear? We are-aren't scared."

Sombra added, "We've nev-never been scared."

Cadence knew they were lying. She stared into their very souls and asked, "Well then, why can we smell your fear so easily? Why were you so scared of Twilight back when she banished you.?"

Sombra asked, "How did you know we were scared of Twilight?"

Cadence laughed, "Oh, lucky guess." She glared at them and ordered, "Over in that field, NOW!"

Cadence pointed her hoof in the direction she wanted them to go. Once they got there her eyes began to shine green, she began to glow a dark pink, her eyes were shining a radioactive green and her horn began to glow as she recited, "From another to me, that is where your allegiance will now be, you thought your old commander loved you like pie when all they wanted was for you to die. With me all shall be great, there shall be no hate."

Like with what happened with the royal guard, Cadence fired a beam of powerful dark pink energy into her allies. The energy was quickly absorbed into their bodies. After a minute they stood up and looked at Cadence very attentively. She asked, "Who are you two loyal to?"

In unison they shouted, "I am loyal to the Dark Goddess Cadence and no other!"

Cadence had a huge smile on her face and replied, "Thank you, your Dark Goddess is most pleased to hear that!" She paused and continued, "Now where were we, oh yes, we were going to train the royal guard to fire beams of energy."

Sombra asked, "Your Majesty, who is going to be in charge of doing that?"

Cadence smiled and said, "You two have went through enough today. Let your Dark Goddess handle them. After all, your Dark Goddess transformed them so she shall train them."

Sombra and Chrysalis nodded and headed to the crystal tower. While Cadence began to teach the new Alicorn guard how to fire energy, Chrysalis was kind of confused with how Cadence was talking. Chrysalis asked, "Sombra, why is she talking about herself like she is talking about somepony else?"

Sombra growled, "Well she didn't start speaking that way until she used so much energy she became a dark goddess. Perhaps it is just a dark goddess thing."

Chrysalis nodded and the two headed to the crystal tower for a snack. In Ponyville Twilight was watching all of this and was not amused. She realized that this changed absolutely everything and what really bothered her was that Cadence was putting more power into all of her spells than she ever did. She decided that she better call a meeting with her higher ups as this was extremely important. She then realized that hearing Cadence's name may jog Celestia's memory so she realized that another loyalty spell may be necessary.
