The following morning arrived and Cadence was ready and raring to go. She made sure that everypony had a good breakfast for the flight to the Everfree Forest that day. She saw that Flash Sentry was kind of standing around away from the rest of the army. She stormed over towards him and asked, "Flash Sentry, why the hell are you over here? Get with everypony else, we shall leave in a couple of minutes."

Flash replied, "Listen, I just don't like the idea of attacking Twilight. I can't help it, I love her and I always will."

Cadence pointed her horn at him and shouted, "Well that forever won't be for long if you don't join everypony else."

She had her horn pointed at him and led him towards the rest of the army. Once he was with the rest of her forces Cadence flew to the front and addressed them. She started, "Alright troops, today we embark on our endeavor. By tomorrow evening your Dark Goddess shall be in the black tower feasting on Twilight's corpse!"

Flash shouted, "No! I will not allow you to kill Twily!"

Cadence levitated him up to the front and asked, "What did you say soldier? Are you daring to disobey your Dark Goddess?"

Flash realized that he better not question her and just go along with her plans. He decided that once they attacked Ponyville, that he would defect and aid Twilight. Deep down he believed that he could win her heart and get her to want to marry him. He replied, "No your Majesty." He then got a angry look on his face and shouted, "Death to Twilight, let's take Ponyville!"

Cadence smiled and replied, "Good decision soldier. You must value your life more than we thought."

Cadence then looked at her soldiers and motioned for them to follow her. Everypony took off and while Cadence was in front, Sombra and Chrysalis were right behind her. While they did not like being subordinates to Cadence, they knew how powerful she had become and decided they would rather serve her than wind up in the void again.

It was mid-afternoon when they landed in the forest not too far away from Ponyville. The place they landed was perfect. There was a large lake and an abundance of trees and bushes bearing fruit. Cadence said, "Alright troops, here we can get ourselves plenty hydrated and there is no shortage of food, so let's feast!"

Green Toxin asked, "Your Majesty, what are you going to do tomorrow when you duplicate the drones and dark Alicorns? Won't they have to eat and drink before we head into battle?"

Cadence replied, "No they won't. The duplicates will be just as full and hydrated as the originals."

Cadence then walked over to Chrysalis and Sombra and said, "You two will need to help me keep an eye on Flash Sentry. I have a bad feeling that he may try to sneak to Ponyville tonight and warn Twilight of our coming."

Chrysalis replied, "Don't worry about it."

While Flash was drinking water Chrysalis flew over and covered him in ooze. He shouted, "What the hay are you doing? We're all on the same side!"

Cadence said to him, "We're just making sure you don't have a change of heart and go aid the enemy tonight. We know your feelings for her and your Dark Goddess just wants to make sure who you stay loyal to."

Flash grunted as he could only stand there covered in ooze. In Ponyville Twilight was watching all of this and saw that her enemies were not too far away from Ponyville. She quickly flew down to the base to warn her soldiers. While she wanted them to be alert, she did not want to go attack them in the forest, she wanted to bring her foes down in Ponyville.

Once she arrived at the base she shouted, "ATTENTION!" Everypony stopped what they were doing and gave her their undivided attention. Twilight was pleased to see that her friends and allies were also at the base as she did not wish to have a meeting after supper. She started, "Alright everypony, the enemy is only ten miles away in the forest. From the sounds of things, they will be attacking after they eat breakfast tomorrow morning. So you know what that means?"

Galaxia asked, "Does that mean that we will be attacking them in the middle of the night?"

Twilight replied, "No. We will be waking up early tomorrow to have a substantial breakfast. Also, I need some of you to get the civilians here evacuated. I do not want to see any of our citizens die."

With the way Twilight is, that surprised some but her friends she has had since she moved to Ponyville expected this. Rarity raised her hoof and said, "Twilight, I along with the rest of our friends can do it."

Twilight smiled and replied, "Thank you Rarity." She looked out at everypony and said, "That is all, you are dismissed. Just clear your minds and prepare for the battle tomorrow."

While Rarity and her friends were evacuating Ponyville, Twilight headed to her room to monitor the enemy some more. When she saw that Flash was covered in ooze she couldn't help but chuckle. She thought to herself, "It looks like nopony trusts Flash Sentry! What does it matter, I can see everything to start with." She then growled, "So Cadence, you want to kill and eat me? Bring it bitch, I'll be the one feasting on your corpse!"

Both armies were ready for battle. Cadence and her allies were relaxing by the lake making sure that all their forces got adequate food and water while Twilight had her meal delivered to her room that night as for the first time ever, she did not wish to be bothered by those she considered in her inner circle of the government.
