So tomorrow were off on a quest to save the world, you know Shepard I occasionally wouldnt mind for our little crew to go somewhere where we arent getting shot at. Garrus said as they sat around the main room of their large house.

Where would the fun be in that Garrus? Shepard asked him seemingly aghast at the idea as he chewed a bite of muffin with a smile. Garrus shook his head back and laughed, it was late but neither of them were tired yet and Ash had told him to wake her when he came in. So Garrus I keep forgetting to ask, howre you and Tali doing? Shepard asked Garrus, who shook his head.

Things are going better then I possibly expected them to, I think that weve really connected. Which reminds me Shepard why did you pick Tali Than and me for this mission? Garrus asked Shepard.

Well Garrus youre pretty much my best friend, along with the fact that you have enough experience commanding a squad that if I get hurt or die the squad will still be able to carry out its main objective. Tali has amazing tech skills that will be really useful if we need someone to hack our way into someplace besides being very good with that shotgun. And Thane not only seems to know a lot about this land but every team needs an effective ninja assassin to be effective. Shepard replied honestly, Garrus considered that for a few seconds before he nodded.

What about Twilight and her friends additions to the team, how do you think theyll do? Garrus asked Shepard.

Twilight will be invaluable, Dash will be extremely useful, and Fluttershy has turned into an intimidating fighter, I think well be fine. Shepard replied with a slight smile.

I think youre right the Illusive Man wont know what hit him, then again when were involved nopony ever does. Unfortunately I promised Tali that wed have time totalkbefore tomorrow so Ive got to go, see you in the morning Shepard. Garrus told him rising from his seat across from Shepard and heading towards his room. Shepard spent a few minutes looking into the fire before putting it out and heading towards his room. When he opened the door Ash looked up from a book she was reading.

Well you certainly took your time Ethan, I was afraid Id actually fall asleep before we got a chance to talk. Ash said setting the book on the table beside her.

Sorry Ash Garrus and I needed to talk about some things for this upcoming mission. Shepard replied apologetically.

Speaking of the mission I want to know the real reason that you dont want me following you into hell like I have before. Ash looked at him seriously; Shepard rubbed the back of his neck with his hoof before he went over to sit next to her on the bed.

What I said was true Ash you are the one best suited to lead the others, but theres another reason too. He told her

What is it Ethan? She asked him in concern.

Ash, I know you know already but I love you. If anything bad happened to you while you were with me then even this colorful world would be grey and bland, I cant risk it, I cant risk you. Shepard told her quietly.

Shepard Ash said at a loss for words, Shepard put his hoof to her lips.

Stay here and advise Celestia, keep the others from doing stupid things, and if it comes to it kick some flank out on the frontlines. Shepard told her before he leaned in for a kiss

SHE DID WHAT! Mordin yelled at Anderson who winced slightly My weapon wont be ready for another month and shes sending Shepard out to stop the Illusive Man now. Have to finish faster; the journey wont take a month. Mordin said to himself before walking back towards the lab.

Well at least hes going to be in a brighter mood for a while. Kaidan deadpanned, Miranda and Anderson sighed, it was going to be a long week.

The Illusive Man had been in Equestria for four years, at first hed been confused but once he understood the situation he knew what his goal would be. He walked along the corridors of his base heading for the command room, as he walked his talons clicked against the floor. When hed arrived he was surrounded by his troops, all of whom he knew had died in the explosion of his base or subsequently during the attack on the Citadel. He had been unfamiliar with his body but had soon decided that he liked it more than his old human form; it garnered far more respect and it was certainly more durable. He walked into the meeting room which was an impressive five hundred meters tall, it also functioned as a control room, and a lab.

Sir I have bad news to report. Squawked one of his tech griffins uncomfortably.

What is it? The Illusive Man asked the techy, his voice was still a little deep for his liking but that didnt matter now.

It appears that Leng is dead, along with the entire army that you sent to Ponyville. The Illusive Man was silent for a timewhich worried the tech griffin; he had a family after all.

That is most unfortunate, Id hoped that Leng would be able to handle Shepard himself, I certainly sent more than enough guards to help him. The Illusive Man said quietly, the tech griffin winced visibly drawing the Illusive Mans eye. Youre Jenkins arent you? he asked Jenkins nodded.

Yes sir, I joined the cause after the day you destroyed the Kings army. The Illusive man smiled.

That was a good day; tell me Jenkins do you have a family?

Ye, yes sir I do. Jenkins stammered, almost like he was afraid the Illusive man would eat him.

Well good, at least you have something worthwhile to go home to. Nodding in relief Jenkins raised his courage for a second time.

Umm sir I would just like to tell you that shes still out there. The Illusive Man sighed, she just wouldnt go away and hed so far been unable to kill her.

Shes just a minor nuisance, nothing to get worked up over, remember we kill her if we get the chance, if thats all youre free to go. Jenkins nodded and left quietly letting the Illusive Man look into the lava at the bottom of his volcano base that was visible below twenty feet of glass and steel. You should have killed him for his disrespect! Her voice spoke up in his mind, he ignored her, or it until the Elements got here he had decided that he had better people skills. The members of Cerberus had been a little skeptical when their leader had chosen the volcano to be his secret base, but then again he was the boss, besides it fit him. What he hadnt been expecting was the large temple located at the very bottom of the volcanos main shaft, inside had been a large collection of powerful oddities with which he had managed to fashion some fairly interesting devices. The temple came at a cost though; one mare wouldnt stop trying to get into his base to discover the temple, what drove her the Illusive Man couldnt begin to fathom. Feeling a distinct hunger in his stomach he launched himself airborne using his powerful wings and started the short trip up the volcano tube, sighting a large manticore he angled in for the kill. Later after he was done enjoying his roasted manticore his mind went back to plotting, after all that was what he did best.

AN
Now what is the Illusive Man I think I left enough evidence for you to figure it out, heres a hint. He isnt a pony
