Soarin's head was held low. His eyes closed. The chains around all four hooves hung heavy. His mind filled with sorrow, anger and guilt. He didn't cry, he couldn't. His mind focused on the image of Commander Feather Tail choking the mare he loved. He helplessly watched the life slip away from her. Whatever her plan was, it failed. It failed so badly.
They were back in the cells again. But with a new prisoner this time. As the alicorn and the stallion sat in the same cell as before, the unconscious cyan pegasus was right next to them, in a different cell.

Commander Feather stopped strangling the pegasus after she passed out. Muttering that he had another use for her. And ordered her to be in the next cell.

Twilight glanced at the cyan mare. Laying across the floor with all her hooves chained together. Her wings outspread, her still blue hair covering her face. The mare's saddlebags were thrown in as well. The only contents was a scroll, quills and a golden key around a chain.
The alicorn watched as her friend's chest unsteadily rose and fell. Still mesmerised by the fact that Rainbow believed that she ran off with Soarin. Why would she believe such a thing? Why would she believe that a close friend like hers, ran off with this handsome, charming, funny...heart melting stallion?

Twilight shook her head.
She can't. Soarin loved Rainbow. She couldn't distress him more by kissing him. It wouldn't be right. Afterall, Soarin has only just learnt that his foal was dead. His unborn foal. After all of the excitement of decorating rooms and buying toys, the baby died. Inside of the mare he loved.

"Soarin?" Twilight whispered, placing a hoof on his shoulder. But the stallion held his head down.

"Why? Why does this happen?" He muttered.

"Why does what happen?"

"Why does this happen?! Every time there's a flicker of happiness, something destroys it! When I finally met Rainbow, she's an assassin! When I admit my feelings for her, she pushes them away. When I help her, we both get taken away! When I offer to take her punishment, she receives both of ours! When we finally became one, she nearly dies. And then when everything was about to end, I get stabbed, fall in a coma, Rainbow gets sent back, and nearly dies again!!" He cried. His tears streaming down his face.

"But Soarin-"

"No!! I finally propose to her! She's pregnant! Everything was perfectly planned! And then I get kidnapped on my wedding! To make things better, my fiancé has a miscarriage!! When she comes to rescue us, she's nearly murdered!! Why does this happen, Twilight?! Why can't anything go right?!" He shouted at the princess. Sadness and guilt filling his eyes. He wanted so desperately to make things right. So both he and Rainbow can live in peace. Twilight's heart melted again. Feeling sorrow for the stallion.

"Soarin. You are focusing on the bad things. What about the good things?" She reassured. "If you concentrate on the good things in life, goods things will come."

"And what if they don't?"

"Then you make them come to you." She smiled as the Soarin's anger finally left.

"You're right." He gazed at the unconscious mare, watching her unsteady breathing. Remembering the rose gem eyes that he fell in love with. That was a good thing. He fell in love with extraordinary mare. "Thank you." He smiled as he stared at his love.

"That's what friends are for." She sighed. Watching the stallion as he stared at his mare. She was never going to be able to tell him. Or do anything to make know that she loved him.

Unless, she make things come to her.

A couple of hours pasted. The two ponies chatted about random stuff in hope to make the time go past quick. The pegasus in the other cell was still unconscious. However, a griffin named Gilda walked in, and placed a clean blanket over the cold mare. Carefully folding the pony's wings. She tussled the blue hair, a bit of dye coming onto her claws.

"I'm so sorry, Dash. I didn't know." The griffin mumbled sadly, as she walked off. Locking the door.

The two sat in silence. The echoes of a shouting and prisoner filled the unbearable prison with sound. Nothing relevant came to mind. Nothing to speak of. The both of them were unable to think of anything to say, until one finally spoke up.

"What if she never wakes up?" The stallion uttered under his breath. Catching alicorn completely off guard.

"She will." She finally replied. Hoping that she was right. But, a part of her wishing she wasn't.

"I have no idea what I would do if she does die."

"She's not going to."

"But what if she does, what do I do?!" Soarin nearly shouted. His tears brimming his eyes again. If Rainbow does die, he'd probably kill himself too. He loved Rainbow. And nopony else. There would be no point living if the pony he loved dies.

"Find another pony." Twilight felt her heart beat faster. She's going to say it. She's going to do it. She's going to show him. All those pent up feelings to be released as she would merge her lips with his.

"But who? I don't love anypony as much as I love Rai-"

"Me." Twilight interrupted. Soarin stopped, shocked by the mare. His emerald eyes wide open.

"What?" He squeaked, not sure whether he heard her right.

"You can love me."

Soarin's mouth hung wide. Unable to think of anything to say. His mind on overload as he stared at the alicorn.

"You can love me, as I love you." Twilight hushed, edging closer to the uneasy stallion.

"But Twilight-"

"Sshh." The princess placed a hoof on his lips. Her heart exploding, and her mind screaming yes. She stared with half lidded eyes at Soarin. Who stared in utter shock.
She moved her head closer to him, not noticing the waking pony behind Soarin.
"I love you, Soarin." She whispered. And before Soarin could react to anything, Twilight pushed her lips onto his. He muffled a gasped as Twilight tried twisting their tongues together.

Just as he was about to push Twilight away, he heard a quiet, and saddened croak behind him.

"Soarin? Twilight?"

Another dun dun duuunnn.

Just a quick chapter. I need to get this idea out of my head, seeing as I've slightly changed the plot. I apologise if it seems rushed. But another big chapter will come out soon.

Rainbow gets angry, and puts her real plan into action.
