Shining Armor gulped as he looked up and saw the Judge of this emergency case, but among the politicians in the council was a couple glaring at him, which hurt him the most: his parents Twilight’s parents who looked like they had a long rant prepared for Shining when they got the chance.

Below the podium was a stern looking unicorn with glasses, a black polished black mane with stripes of white, a light red fur, his Cutie Mark was a closed fist with only the thumb facing down and he had a red tie. He was Canterlot elite member Arthur E.T. Figure the prosecutor of this session who held the titles of the head of the Equestrian Council and five times winner of the Canterlot Weekly’s Annual Most Forced Name Award.

“Captain Armour.” Arthur said in a stern voice that held nothing but seriousness “We have testimony from Princess Mi Amore Cadenza that she had been in the caverns, hostage by the Changelings three days after your proposal, therefore about three months. Therefore you have been with the Changeling Queen in her disguise for about that time without even noticing her changed different explanation. Your response to this?”

Shining had nothing....his sister and parents were made at him and his fiancé did not want to marry him anymore.

“I want to know what authority you are doing this in!” Princess Celestia stated form her seat with a glare at the council “last time I checked the council had no power over the princess...”

“Actually your majesty the law does state you can be overridden if the council has the backing of somepony equal in authority to you.” Arthur responded with a glare as Princess Luna made herself known glaring at Shining, Celestia and the Element Wielders,

“Luna?” asked Celestia in shock at her little sister, wondering just how this day could have been worse.

“When I saw what was happening I asked the guards what had been going on, I didn’t believe it until I took a peak of where the wedding was supposed to be where I saw you all talking and confirming it.” Luna said shaking her head looking between apologetic and angry towards her elder sister “sorry sister but to please our subjects and maybe prevent something like this from happening again, I have given the Council authority to suspend you of powers until this matter is cleared!”

Celestia was taken back that it seemed that her sister was against her now.

After ten minutes most of what Shining managed to say what was that he was too concerned about his wedding and it didn’t help that he ignored recommendations from his fellow guards about getting check for spells.

The Princess herself didn’t fare much better, she stated she regretted at least hearing her out and should have known her better than just to accuse somepony without some sort of reason.

Then the Elements themselves were questioned.

Applejack not having experience with talking to politicians was silent and would have made her brother Big Macintosh look like a loudmouth by comparison.

Pinkie Pie drone in a long sentence about how sorry she was and hoping she could make things up to Cadence, Twilight, the Council and everypony else with a huge party with balloons, treats and an “I’m sorry!” cake. The Council decided to excuse her before they would have headaches.

Fluttershy could only look down in the floor and state “I’m sorry Twilight.” Quietly every few minutes when she was up.

Rarity was thinking about how caught up she was in being a part of a big media crazy wedding, she felt worse seeing among the Council was Prince Blueblood the prince she had covered with cake at the Gala. She gulped even further, knowing he especially would not be giving any sympathy to her with the stunt she and her friends pulled at the Gala.

Rainbow Dash after seeing her friends be frightened at the sight of the Council during their turns let her anger take her over again:

“I’M SORRY BUT SHE BARGED IN CLAIMING THE BRIDE WAS EVIL WITHOUT PROOF!!!”

Arthur had the right evidence to counteract that idea when it would be brought up. “I have it on record form servants we managed to question that Ms Sparkle tried to make her concerns known to you all many times before the incident, did you actually listen before shunning her at the Rehearsal?” asked Arthur with a glare “maybe her bursting in acting ‘crazy’ as you might put it, maybe the result of her concerns being ignored before without even a glance?”

Rainbow Dash looked down, she had no defence against that. Before accusing the Fake Cadence publicly, she did try and make her concerns known but was ignored each time.

“I would have done the same thing as Twilight in her position; she had managed to put up with the ignoring longer than I would have.” Dash whispered to herself after thinking it over.

Soon the Council excused themselves for fifteen minutes to talk it over, even Princess Luna joined them. They rejoined the court and Arthur used his magic to give the judge a piece of paper with the Council’s verdict.

“The Court has made this ruling.” The Judge said facing the defendants “Shining Armor you are hereby discharged as Captain of the Guard and will have to take training before retaining a spot on the guard.”

Shining nodded sadly, it seemed a little more lenient than the sentence he thought he was going to get.

“To the five Elements of Harmony.......we sentence you five to community service, you will all have to help pay for the damages caused by the Changeling Incident and each will be monitored by a different guard for a period of three weeks after returning to Ponyville.” The Judge stated.

Fluttershy and Pinkie nodded sadly, however Dash, Rarity and Applejack were not too pleased but they knew better than to dig themselves deeper by complaining.

“Princess Celestia we hereby ask you step down from the Throne of Equestria and allow your sister Princess Luna to rule in your stead along with a monarch selected by the Council, until the Council and Princess Luna agrees you are fit to handle the responsibility again.” The Judge said.

“I guess I can spend the time working to repair my relationship with Twilight......” Celestia muttered with a sigh.

“Can the guards please find Ms Twilight Sparkle and her to come here to the court, due to a ruling the Council has made.” The Judge asked the guards present.

“Wait they are not going to punish Twilight, are they?” Dash asked, the six would not be able to accept it if Twilight was further punished by their mistake, they would fight it despite the trouble the Council would bring.

Twilight was managing to rest in the room she was in with Cadence, at least her tears had stopped. Spike had come in asking to speak with Twilight who was still being comforted by Cadence.

“Spike it will be Twilight’s choice if and when she would be able to speak with you!” Cadence said glaring at Spike who just sighed to herself.

Then came a guard who said “sorry to bother you Princess Cadenza but the Equestrian Council has asked Ms Sparkle to come to the courtroom to discuss a ruling they have made.”

“You think you would be able to handle going down there, Twiley?” asked Cadence and Twilight managed to nod.

Soon the pink Alicorn and the purple Unicorn had came to the courtroom, they were now facing the podium.

Twilight stammered and said “If this is about not being able to stop the invasion......”

“You have no reason to apologise for that Ms Sparkle.” Arthur said sounding gentle and did not have the same glaring scowl he did when interviewing her brother, her mentor and her friends “in fact we have decided you could have a special role in our government after the times you have helped save the Land of Equestria.”

“Huh?” asked Twilight while the defendants looked confused. The Judge then addressed her.

“Ms Twilight Sparkle for your part in helping to stop Nightmare Moon and Discord, plus as the individual who done the most in attempting to stop the Changeling Invasion and rescuing Princess Cadenza which led to the victory against the Changelings: the Council has offered you the title of Monarch to run Equestria alongside Princess Luna.” Next Chapter: This day should have been just perfect... part 4 Estimated time remaining: 10 Minutes
