Chapter 6: Twilight Sparkle's Offer

The loud clinking sounds of glasses against the tables and the scraping of plates could be heard at the restaurant.

Rarity and her friends were sitting in a circular cushioned booth and were busy enjoying their breakfast.

"So, why haven't you been hanging around with us anymore, Rarity?" Rainbow Dash asked.

Rarity took a sip of her water and put it aside. "I have just been so busy and I haven't had much time," she said.

"How come you told us that business was so slow and that you didn't know what you were going to do about it?" Fluttershy nervously asked.

Rarity squirmed around in her seat uncomfortably. "I uh, I've been getting a few more new customers at the shop now," Rarity lied.

"Oh, that's so wonderful!" Twilight Sparkle said. "If you ever need any of us to lend you a few bits though, don't be afraid to ask. Right, girls?"

The rest of Rarity's friends murmured in approval.

"Oh, that's just wonderfully generous of all of you, but I would feel terrible to have to borrow money. I'm doing quite well now and that shouldn't be a concern."

Rarity looked out the window and gasped when she saw her own reflection. "Oh my word, I must have forgotten to put my make up on because I was in such a rush to get here! Of all the worst things that could possibly happen, this is THE....WORST...POSSIBLE....THING!" Rarity cried out as she put her hoof to her forehead in an overly dramatic manner.

The restaurant went silent and everypony inside was staring at her.

Rarity's cheeks turned bright red as she said, "Sorry about that. Do please go back to enjoying your meals, everypony."

All the ponies turned back to their meals and conversations with each other.

"Rarity, what's the big deal? I know you love to feel pretty and wear make up, but you're still easily the prettiest pony out of our little group here," Twilight Sparkle said.

Rarity turned back to the glass and looked at her reflection and messed with her mane a bit. "Why that's very nice of you to say such a thing. Perhaps I do get a bit over zealous when it comes to my looks. I guess I really am the prettiest pony in our group, aren't I?"

"And a bit arrogant about it too," Rainbow Dash said as she rolled her eyes.

Applejack forcefully elbowed Rainbow Dash in her side and said, "And yer a mighty fine one yerself when it comes to talkin' 'bout arrogance. Sounds like the pot is callin' the kettle black right here."

Rainbow Dash glared at Applejack with anger and said, "I'm not like that anymore! I might be the best, but I don't brag about it anymore." Rainbow Dash suddenly felt convicted and paused for a moment. "Well, at least not all the time anyway."

"Pinkie Pie wrapped her front leg around Rarity's neck and said, "So will you have any extra time to come back to Twilight Sparkle's Bible study with us again? We are doing a study about lust and sexual sins right now."

All the other girls stared at Rarity hoping that she would say yes.

Rarity gulped and felt drops of sweat trickle down the side of her forehead. "Go back to Bible study?" she asked in an unsure voice. "I'm afraid I'm just too busy right now and can't. I'm so sorry."

All of her friend's ears lowered when their hopes were shot down by Rarity's response.

"There may be a time in the future where I'll be able to come back though," Rarity said.

"Well, I understand," Twilight Sparkle said. But it's very important to be spiritually fed every now and then. I hope you'll get some free time later on. You can also feel free to stop by my library at any time, if you're ever free and we can do our own personal study together, if you truly don't have the time for our normal meet ups. I am so excited because I got my new shipments of Bibles for our Bible study group. It's my new very favorite version. The E.S.V. Bible." Twilight Sparkle began to clap her two front hooves together because the inner nerd was raging inside of her. She was getting excited talking about books and God at the same time.

"Oh well, that's very nice, Twilight, but I don't think I have the time at all for that right now. If I am free later on, I will try to remember to stop by," Rarity said in hopes that the conversation would change now. She was feeling convicted at the moment and it was making her very uncomfortable.

Everypony went back to eating their meals. When they finished, Twilight paid the bill and looked across at Rarity. "Please don't forget my offer, Rarity. I'm always here for you."

Rarity smiled awkwardly and said, "Thank you, darling."

Twilight Sparkle put her front hoof across the table and asked, "Sisters in Christ?"

Everypony put there front hoof on top of Twilight's hoof and then looked over to Rarity.

Rarity was a bit reluctant at first, but she slowly raised her front hoof above the table and she had a look on her face that spoke of uncertainty. Her front hoof was shaking a bit as she put it on top of all of her friend's hooves. "Sister's in Christ," she said.
