Chapter 5: 5: Applejack/Rarity

5: Applejack/Rarity

It wasn't long before I was standing in Twilight's library, the door shutting closed behind me.

I levitated Twilight off of my back with my telekinesis, placing her on the floor gently to rest.

Whatever Celestia wants with me, I hope it isn't pointless.

"Whoever you are, could you please tell me why my student was unconscious on your back?"

My head turned up to Twilight's bedroom and faced a tall white unicorn (with wings similar to Luna's) that has purple-ish eyes and a multicolored mane that I can't exactly describe. She wore a (seemingly) golden crown, necklace, and slippers.

Celestia (or at least I assume it's her) was giving me a mixture of a confused and grim look.

"I am Christian Gordon," I spoke up, "and Twilight here had passed out likely from exhaustion. You must be Princess Celestia, correct?"

She nodded, looking relieved and walking down the staircase. "I was told that you were a 'unique creature', but you seem like an ordinary pony to me."

I removed my hood from my eyes with my telekinesis, ignoring Celestia's surprised expression, and I morphed into a human.

I pulled my hood back up before I sat on the ground Indian-Style (as I learned to call it as a child).

Celestia blinked with her jaw hanging open, obviously at a loss of words.

She cleared her throat, saying "Ah yes, I had forgotten that Luna had told me of your ability to change your appearance. You had me fooled for a moment there."

"I could tell," I responded. Celestia joined me in sitting on the wooden floor, which reminded me of a dog that's told to sit.

"Why did you come here, exactly?" I questioned. "Before Twilight passed out, she said that you were here to see me."

"I was here to see you for myself," Celestia answered. "A creature as unbelievable as you is not something I come across very often."

"I understand. In my work, NOTHING that I do is even thought to be possible. Oh, would you like a cup?" I added, catching Celestia staring at my tea.

"Is that tea?" She asked. "Do you have tea where you are from?"

"Yes, and yes. In fact, my world is very similar to this one. And you didn't answer my question yet."

She smiled slightly, nodding as I gulped down the remaining tea in my cup.

I conjured a second cup of tea in the air, levitating it in front of the princess.

"It's an old recipe of mine," I explained, releasing my telepathic grip on the cup as it glowed a sunshine-yellow, identical to what color her horn was glowing. "It probably won't be the best thing you'll ever taste, but I personally like it better than the kind that's sold in my town."

Celestia raised the cup to her lips, taking a very small sip, unsure of what she should expect.

She lowered the tea, swallowed, and sat in silence.

I refilled my own cup and watched as Celestia took a second, larger gulp of tea before lowering the cup down again.

"How is it? I asked at her unreadable expression.

"I don't know what to say about it," she admitted. "It's not bad, but yet it's different than any tea I've tasted before."

The princess drained the rest of the tea following it being given back to me, and vanishing.

"How are you able to do that?" She asked.

I finished the last of my tea, made the cup vanish, and spoke "All of my abilities are connected to my mind. If I want something done, I just say it in my head and my powers do it. I don't know how, it just happens."

"Anyway," I said, getting back on topic, "is there anything else you would like to know?"

"Is it true that you are over three thousand years old?" She asked right away, smiling a little.

"Yes," I confirmed. "Three-thousand and eighty-nine to be exact."

"Twilight's letter had also said that she had "accidentally" summoned you. Could you explain in better detail?"

It's pretty easy to remember; it wasn't very long ago.

"As I recall, I was walking around the city, when out of nowhere my foot got caught in this symbol that you likely wouldn't know what it meant in my world. I couldn't pull my leg free, and what made it worse was that I starting sinking into the symbol. I started panicking, and then everything went black. I felt myself fall onto a wooden floor, and after that I heard that Spike gave Twilight a 'demon summoning spell' on accident."

"In quicker words; I was sucked into and trapped in another world because Twilight used the wrong spell."

Celestia's smile faded as she tilted her head down.

"The letter also explained that you are unable to return home," she said. "I truly am sorry."

"But he is free to stay in my custody as long as he likes."

I spun around to see that Twilight was standing directly behind me, grinning.

"How long have you been there?" I said.

"Not very long," she responded, walking to my side and sitting down. "I heard you and the princess talking when I woke up, so I came over here to join."

"I am happy to see that you are conscious again," Celestia told Twilight, who responded with a "Thank you".

"Now, is there anything else you require from me?" I said to the princess. "Anything at all?"

She brought a hoof to her chin, thinking for a moment and said "I believe that everything I came here for was answered." She stood up and walked towards the door. "Thank you for your time. I shall be on my way."

There is something I wanted to tell her... But what is it?

I was telling her about myself, then we had tea, and-

Wait... My powers!

"Princess!" I called.

She was close to the front door, just far enough so that it wouldn't hit her if it swung open, twisting her neck around to see me.

"I must ask for you to not mention anything about me, my powers, my species, my world, or anything that relates to me. If you must, call me Christina. It's my temporary identity in this world."

Celestia smiled softly. "Yes, Luna had instructed me to not mention you to anyone you don't allow. Though she did not say that we could call you Christina..."

"I don't think I told her that part. Could you transfer the message for me?"

"Of course. Now, I must e on my way. I have some urgent business to attend to down in Canterlot."

Celestia inches the door open with her magic, peeking through the crack. She swung it open and walked outside quickly, shutting it closed behind her.

I assume she was being sure nobody saw anything through the door. That was pretty nice of her.

"About those books you promised yesterday..." Twilight brought up out of nowhere.

I rotated myself to face the purple unicorn. "What about them?" I know perfectly well what she wants, but I want to hear what she says anyway.

"You had promised to give me the books to me today," she responded. "Are you going to keep that promise?"

"You'll have to tell me exactly what kinds of books you're looking for. I need to know what the books are about."

Twilight sat silent and still in her own thoughts.

I laid on my back with my hands behind my head as a pillow, trying to fight the urge to touch Twilight's neck.

"A book that tells everything about your species," Twilight burst out, "and another one with everything about your world."

"The terrain of my world, or the flora and fauna? The anatomy of my species, or my civilization and history?"

As I (somewhat) predicted, Twilight said "All of the above."

I want a pile of books containing everything about humans and Earth, written in a way that a unicorn like Twilight would understand. I want them next to Twilight on her right.

"I hope these have everything you're looking for," I said, assuming the books were where I instructed. "If you need to know anything else, let me know."

This floor is unnaturally comfortable.

"I'm going to sleep in the meantime. Feel free to wake me up any time you want."

Put me to sleep. Only wake me up if the sun rises tomorrow, someone nearby mentions me, or if I'm being woken up by Twilight or her friends.

"Could you explain what in the name of Celestia that THING is?" We're the words that woke me up.

I opened my eyes and lifted my head up to see who just called me a "thing".

Applejack was standing in front of Twilight, her hoof and face pointed at me while Twilight looked surprised that someone was standing there.

"I-it's awake!" Applejack panicked, grabbing Twilight's hoof. "Let's get out of here!"

Twilight lost her balance from the sudden pull, and was being dragged across the ground as Applejack ran for the exit.

I teleported (standing upright) in front of the doorway. I know I'm not really a muscular guy, but I'm big enough to block an average doorway easily (especially a pony's doorway).

Applejack saw me and skid to a stop. She let go of Twilight's leg and stood onto her hind legs, raising her front hooves like fists.

"Whatever you are, I suggest moving out of the way before I move you myself," she threatened.

Her accent strongly reminds me of a ranch girl I met once. Well, we didn't really "meet", we just said hello and talked for a minute.

"I'm not going to hurt anyone," I said, "especially friends of Twilight and myself."

Applejack stood her ground in silence.

"Look, I just said I'm not going to hurt anyone. Let me explain a bit about myself: My name is Christian Gordon. We met in town a few days ago. I was disguised as Christina do nobody would freak out like you."

Twilight lifted herself off of the ground behind the puzzled pony, shaking her head. "I brought him here on accident", she said, "but he's actually really nice."

Applejack went back onto all fours, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. "I'll take your word for it, Twi," she said calmly. "If you trust him, I guess I can too."

"Glad we got that settled," I said to no one in particular. "Would you allow me, and Twilight if she wishes, to explain more about me?"

Twilight trotted over from behind Applejack to my left. We both stood waiting for her response.

Shortly, after a moment of nervous thinking, she agreed.

I opened my mouth to speak, but a sudden knock on the door made me close it again.

I morphed into Christian and raised my hood as I stepped away from the door, trying my best to ignore Applejack's startled face. "Don't say anything," I added quietly, walking to her side.

Twilight turned about and opened the door; Rarity was standing there, wearing some sort of crown encrusted with a variety of jewels. The large diamond I gave her a while ago was sitting upon the top of the crown.

"Is Christina here?" She asked, looking past Twilight. She saw me, and walked inside without invitation. "I wanted to thank you for giving me this diamond," she said as she approached. "It was a very nice touch to this crown I'm wearing. I've been working on it for several weeks, but I didn't know what to top it off with until you came along. I still need to finish the robe to go with it, but I thought I should come to thank you for the diamond anyway."

I don't think Rarity knows about me yet. Maybe I can tell her and Applejack at the same time.

I shut the door with my telekinesis, startling all three of the ponies.

"Rarity, there is something Twilight and I need to tell you and Applejack..."

Once Twilight and I had finished explaining everything about me, Earth, and humans to Rarity and Applejack, I laid down onto the wooden plank floor, looking up at the ceiling and using my hands for a pillow.

I honestly don't understand how this floor is so comfortable.

"So... We can't talk about you to anypony?" Rarity's voice asked from somewhere out of view.

"No," I replied. "You can only mention what I had told you to your friends... Well, the friends I met, and the princesses. Any other time, don't mention anything I told you."

"Out of curiosity, what would happen if we DO tell someone?" Twilight asked.

"If they believe you, they'll either come to see me for themselves like I'm something up for display, ask for a ton of crap for themselves, or they would freak out like I'm some kind of monster," I explained. "At least I assumed they would. I never took the chance."

There was silence for a moment, then Twilight said "What does "crap" mean?"

Does nobody here ever curse?

"Crap is a more "adult word" where I'm from. It has multiple meanings, but the one I used was a replacement for the word "stuff"."

"But why is it an "adult word"?"

"I'm not so sure. Everyone always says it is, so I guess it became one."

"Well, I'm sure that you won't be surrounded by folks asking you for crap. Did I use that right?" Applejack added, to which I nodded in response.

"Don't use that word too often," I said. "It's something from my world, and I don't want it to catch on.

"And let me ask you this; if a strange creature that you have never seen before is able to understand you and can create almost anything, would you ask it for something?"

There was a short pause before the three mares admitted "yes".

"Exactly," I continued. "And there are those who will ask for something else, again and again. Now, you have a single person... or pony in this case, who constantly asks for things. Multiply that by several million. They would all ask me, constantly, for something of their own needs and desires.

"It really would annoy me if everyone knew about me, because almost everyone would start asking me for things, run away screaming, or staring at me like I'm a trophy at a museum," I concluded.

I closed my eyes, trying to relax.

I inhaled a deep breath of air, feeling my chest expand full of air, and exhaled it outward, feeling my chest deflate.

This is what I was worried about of humans. I don't know for sure if it goes for ponies as well, but their civilization is very close to mine, and Applejack helped show me that it could happen.

"I never thought about it like that..." Twilight said, suddenly.

What would really happen if I were to reveal myself? I never did it on Earth, and I can't ever do it now, so what about this world? Will it be what I expect, or would it be the complete opposite?

What am I saying? I'm not going to take that chance. I'll go mad within three days.

"What did you do before Twilight brought you here?" Rarity asked out of the blue.

"Not much, to be honest," I said. "My plans were to watch civilization grow until it falls, again and again from almost every place in the world. Only once did I see my planet actually die out, but I was planning on seeing it repeatedly."

Rarity suddenly took a gasp, and said softly "Your planet was killed?"

"In a way, yes, because my species was rather stupid when it came to decision making. But I had rewinded time to when it was still alive, so I could watch it grow."

My body was very well relaxed, I can feel it. It makes me feel like getting up will use up all of my energy.

"Anyway, I had already explained everything you should know to both of you. If you have other matters to attend to, I'm not stopping you."

I heard of couple of "clop" sounds (meaning they must be getting up from their sitting positions). Next thing I know, a pair of lips pecked me on the forehead, gone as quickly as they came.

I opened my eyes immediately, looking straight into the blue eyes of Rarity, who was standing over me.

"Thank you again for the diamond, darling," she said with a smile. "And don't you worry about a thing, your secret is safe with us."

I expected her to mention something about my eyes, but I got a "thank you" instead.

That was rather unexpected, but polite.

"Anytime," I replied.

Rarity back away, allowing me to sit up straight to face Twilight and Applejack, who were both standing.

"Sorry for freaking out earlier," Applejack apologized. "I just-"

"I understand," I interrupted. "I would have been the same way in your situation."

I stood up and stretched widely.

I conjured a clock hovering in front of, which read 5:32 P.M. before it vanished.

Time really does fly by these days.

Out of nowhere, a random idea appeared in my head next to the image of the night sky.

It might be a tiny bit crazy, but it's worth a shot.

I looked over to Twilight and said "Where is a good place for stargazing?"

"Near Fluttershy's cottage, there's a cliff," she answered. "Why do you ask?"

"I have an idea that I'll explain later, if you're coming," I said.

"If you're going, I don't mind going either," she said as I morphed into Christina. Once I had my hood pulled up, Twilight yelled into the house "SPIKE! WATCH THE LIBRARY! I'M LEAVING WITH CHRISTI-"

I conjured a bandana and tied it around Twilight's mouth telepathically before she could continue.

"Don't ever scream my name," I said in her voice. "Someone might hear you."

It must be pretty weird to hear someone else talking with your voice.

Twilight gave me a "What the hell?" kind of look, followed by a single nod of the head.

I had the bandana vanish; Twilight's mouth was open for some reason, so she closed it shortly.

"Mind if I come along?" Applejack asked.

"Room for one more?" Rarity added, after I told Applejack that she could.

I agreed to Rarity's request, and she smiled in response.

"I think you lead the way," I told Twilight. "I forgot the way to Fluttershy's house."

"Can't you just teleport there?" She questioned.

"I don't like to use my abilities too often, sometimes I like to do things the old fashioned way."

Twilight didn't say anything, but took the lead of the four of us and faced the door.

I opened it with my telekinesis for her, and I got a "thank you" in return.

I let the other two ponies go outside before shutting the door behind myself.

We walked in the sunset's golden light in silence for a couple of minutes (surprisingly, no other ponies were walking around the town), then something covered my eyes.

I stopped walking, because the thing blinding me was weighed down to something.

"Guess who?" And excited, cheery voice said from my ear.

After spending a morning hearing it, she was fairly easy to identify.

"Could you not do that when I'm in the middle of walking, Pinkie?" I said.

"Sorry," she replied with a giggle, removing her hooves (I just realized what they were) from my eyesight. "Where are you girls going?" She started hopping next to me while I tried power-walking to catch up with the others. "Are you doing something fun? Can I come? I love fun! Fun is-"

"If you want to come along," I interjected, "I recommend not talking so much."

Pinkie ceased her hopping and began to walk at my pace once we had caught up with the group.

A quick glance showed me that the teddy bear that I had given to Pinkie earlier today was riding Pinkie like a wounded soldier on horseback.

It's funny, because she's a horse.

"Where are we going?" She asked.

"We're heading to this cliff over by Fluttershy's house," I stated. "I want to get a view of the stars."

"Stargazing? That has to be the most BORING thing I've ever heard!"

I looked upward to see Rainbow Dash flying above us.

"Then you don't have to come," Twilight said from the font. "We're just taking Christina there because she wants to try something."

"I'm only going because all of you girls are going. I'm not going to be staring at stars all night."

After maybe ten minutes of walking (something tells me that Twilight made the walk longer than it was supposed to), we arrived at the pass to Fluttershy's cottage.

We didn't stop, but we kept walking past the animal caretaker's house.

"Go get Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash," Twilight suddenly said.

Dash zoomed off to the small cottage while we continued our trotting down the dirt road.

It soon turned into a grassy field; small animals ran about, flowers bloomed here and there(isn't it February?), trees were scattered everywhere, and the grass appeared to be painted gold in the setting sun's light.

Shortly, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash touched down with us, keeping up with our pace.

"Hey Dash," I brought up, "you and Fluttershy were in the air just now. Did you see anyone around?"

"No, why?" She answered.

I threw my head back to take my hood off of my head and morphed back into my normal form, continuing to walk.

"All six of you already know my secret," I said before anyone could say anything. "There is no need for me to hide it when it is only you around."

"When did you tell them?" Pinkie asked? "Did you tell them about our game too?"

"Game?" Twilight questioned.

"Pinkie and I can explain later," I said. "Anyway, I told Applejack and Rarity everything not too long ago. They know as much as you do."

"Did he tell you about Mr. Fuzzy?" Pinkie said, slipping in front of the group and showing off her teddy bear.

Everyone stopped walking and gather around Pinkie. I did too to see everyone's reactions.

Twilight said "That's very interesting," Rarity and Applejack both smiled with a small giggle, Fluttershy brushed it with her hoof, and Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes.

"I named him Mr. Fuzzy because of how fuzzy his fur is," Pinkie said. "It's really fuzzy. Not like really fuzzy, I mean REALLY fuzzy. Fuzzy with a sort of-"

"I think we all get it," I said. "Are we close to the cliff yet?"

"We still have some ground to cover," Twilight replied, getting back on track. "Come on everypony."

Some time passed, and it had gotten dark out. I had conjured a rectangular lantern with a candle inside (I really like those kinds of lanterns) hovering over the six of us for some light.

It's pretty odd how a group of seven is able to remain so quiet for so long.

"Have you ever had a special somepony?" Pinkie asked randomly.

She must mean "a special somebody".

"If you are talking to me, I have not been in this world long enough to find a partner," I said. "In addition to that, I prefer to be in a relationship with my own kind."

"No, silly! I mean did you have a special somepony where you're from?"

"No, truthfully."

"But why?" Rarity said. "A kind gentlecolt like you is sure to be surrounded by other girls."

"I think you should look at the situation I'm in right now," I said as a joke. "But to be serious, I never talk to others that often, so I never made any friends."

"You never had friends before?" Fluttershy said.

"Not exactly, no," I said. "I also wasn't looking for a relationship. I had no interest in finding one."

"Why is that?" Twilight asked.

"I...I-I just wasn't looking for anyone. I was more focused on what was going on in the world than what was going around in my own life."

Now that I think about it, what was I doing for over three thousand years? "Watching civilization grow", what was the point of that? It was the only thing I ever did with my life, after I gained my Immortality.

"Well, you have some friends right here with you," Applejack said.

"Yeah! You get to hang out with us now," Rainbow Dash said, flying high enough by my side to wrap a hoof around my shoulder.

Her hoof and coat felt soft against my shoulder. It made me feel more at ease, somehow.

"Thank you," I said to them all. "Not many people from Earth would be so kind to me."

"What's "Earth" again?" Pinkie wondered.

"It's Christina's-"

"Christian," I corrected. "Nobody else is around."

"Sorry. It's Christian's home planet," Twilight went on. "It's around the size of Equestria, but it has a LOT more water."

"It's funny, because everyone in my world lived on land," I said as we began climbing up a hill. "About eighty percent of my planet is water, but yet we all lived on the land."

Being twice as tall as the others, and Rainbow Dash at my height, we saw the grass glimmering in the moonlight over the hill end in darkness.

It must be the cliff.

"Race ya!" Dash said out of nowhere, zooming off from my side.

Slow down time.

I walked around the others and walked at a fast pace towards the cliff, being devoured into the moon's natural light as I left the golden glow of the lantern.

Halfway there I passed Dash, who looked odd in mid-flight in the dark. She looked like some kind of floating statue with a frozen rainbow trail behind her, while she moved as fast as the occasional slow walker on thr sidewalk.

I kept walking until I hit the edge of the cliff.

Let time flow how it does normally.

In less than a second, Rainbow Dash had stopped and was hovering right at my side, looking surprised, confused, and frustrated all at once.

I chuckled unnecessarily. "You shouldn't underestimate my capabilities," I told her.

She responded by crossing her front hooves (like I do with my arms pretty often) and turning her back to me.

Once everyone else had caught up and put us back in the light, they all started talking about how fast I was.

I stopped them all to say "This IS the right place, correct?"

They all nodded.

I looked up into the sky; not a star was in sight.

I raised my arm straight upward, and slowly moved it to the left, moving the clouds with my telekinesis.

"How are you doing that?" Fluttershy asked, apparently watching.

"Telekinesis," I stated simply. "Just give me a minute to clear these clouds out."

"I'm sure Rainbow Dash can do it," Rarity spoke up. "Could you be a dear?"

I turned around  to see if she would answer.

Her back was no longer turned, but her hooves and moody expression were still there.

"Hey, at least you can fly," I said. "Even if I had wings, I would never be as fast as you."

It was an obvious lie. To me, at least. I don't know if she would believe it.

"Yeah... You're right!" She said, getting a smirk on her face and soaring into the sky.

Her shadow in the dark sky started kicking the big bunch of clouds, making them burst and go out of existence.

She went from cloud to cloud, breaking bunches into pieces, and coming back to break the pieces.

Within maybe eighteen to twenty seconds, she was back on the ground, saying "I bet you would never be able to THAT off!"

I looked back into the sky.

Literally every single star was in sight. Even gas in the atmosphere could be seen.

But none of these stars match any constellations...

I backed up a few feet away from the seemingly-endless abyss-into-darkness, creating a Morvian Telescope (invented in 2847) and placed it's legs on the flat grass.

Now that I think about it, it looks a lot like a telescope from the 2000s with a keyboard attached...

The ponies watched with interest as I typed in the coordinates of Earth's orbit into the keyboard.

I hit enter, but yet it didn't move, turn, or point in any direction.

It must be calculating.

"What are you doing with that... Doohickey?" Applejack questioned.

"It looks like a telescope," Twilight added.

It still hasn't moved.

Just be patient, I'm sure it'll come up soon.

"It's a special telescope from my world," I told them. "It allows me to type in the coordinates of anything within four light years around it. It's invented in about eight hundred years from now."

"That's from the future?" Pinkie said. "I wanna go to the future!"

"I don't want to try taking others time-traveling, Pinkie. Something bad might happen."

I sat down and crossed my legs in front of the telescope, waiting patiently.

"Why are you using that telescope?" Twilight asked.

"To see if I can find my planet," I responded.

The group went silent all of a sudden.

Several minutes of dead silence passed.

It was broken by a loud BUZZ sound from the telescope, and a calm woman's voice saying "Coordinates do not exist within range."

Oh God...

I looked at the bundle of ponies.

Fluttershy was hiding underneath her mane behind Rarity (who looked speechless), Applejack was kicking the ground with her hoof, Twilight was avoiding eye contact with me, Pinkie was busy messing with her teddy bear, and Dash was hovering in the air and rubbing her neck.

A sudden thought popped into my head; what about the other planets?

I typed in the coordinates for Venus and pressed enter.

In a much shorter amount of time, the buzz sounded again, and the woman's voice said "Coordinates do not exist within range.".

Over two hours later, I typed in Pluto's coordinates, my heart pounding against my rib cage as the others spectated in silence.

Once more, the buzz came and went, followed by "Coordinates do not exist within range."

I sighed heavily.

"I'll give it one more shot," I said to myself.

In one last, hopeless effort. I entered the coordinates for the sun (Earth's sun, anyway).

Please, let it work this time. Please.

I sat on the lantern-lit grass, waiting for it to find the coordinates.

The others gathered around it with me, sitting down on the ground, staring and waiting for it to do something.

It remained still and silent for several minutes. Not a single sound nor movement came from the Morvian Telescope.

"I think it's busted," Pinkie Pie said after some time.

"It might be," I said, wanting to believe her, "but I'm going to give it some more time."

Nobody else spoke after that.

It felt like hours passing by.

If its taking this long to find it, but the other times were so short, then maybe it'll point to the sun's direction.

It could be possible.

The others are starting to doze off. They keep closing their eyes, yawning, and shaking themselves awake.

"You guys don't have to stay here with me," I said, loud enough to catch their attention (Twilight, Rarity, and Fluttershy jumped). "Why don't you all go home and get some rest?"

"I'm fine," Applejack yawned. "If you're doing something that's important to you, then I'll stay here right with ya."

"I can stay awake," Twilight said, standing and stretching her front legs like a dog.

Pinkie, Fluttershy, Dash, and Rarity didn't say anything, but they didn't move either.

The telescope still hasn't done a damn thing.

I want to try re-entering the coordinates, but it might restart the long-enough search, so I'm not going to risk it.

More time passed, and still nothing happened.

Pinkie fell onto her side with a THUD, snoring. Mr. Fluffy was lying next to her face-up, as if the wounded soldier had fallen off of its carrier.

Pinkie's sudden collapse startled Fluttershy (who was sitting next to her, asleep in her sitting position). She jumped onto her feet, wide-awake from the unexpected awakening.

I couldn't help but to smile a little. I don't know why.

Out of nowhere, surprising us all (and waking Pinkie Pie), an ear-splitting BUZZ emitted from the telescope, followed by the calm woman's voice saying "Galaxy containing coordinates is not within range".

A sudden sinking feeling came across my chest, as if I lost a close family member all over again.

I made the telescope vanish and rolled onto my stomach, resting my head in my arms. I always did this as a child whenever I was upset.

I'm never going home. My only chance to go back to Earth failed. I'm going to be stuck here in Equestria for eternity.

I can't even talk out loud without saying words that nobody would understand.

How would I be able to live here until the end of time?

Someone soft wrapped themselves around my right side in a warm embrace (I assume it was Fluttershy, by the feeling of her long mane on my back); her head pressed against mine like a loving cat.

Her coat was rather comforting against my body.

I didn't look up. I didn't want to.

I'm comfortable like this (though Fluttershy is making me even comfier).

Another pony got down and hugged me similar to Fluttershy, except from my left side.

Her mane felt pretty curly against me.

Pinkie and Fluttershy were both consoling me with their embraces.

I felt another two ponies' hooves wrap around me.

It was hard to tell who they belonged to, because it felt like they were reaching over Fluttershy and Pinkie.

A pair of hooves came from in front of me, squeezing between my head and arms and getting a hold of my neck. She then pulled herself closer to me, and I felt a forehead bump against my temple, part of a horn and a fragranced mane included.

Immediately after Rarity became still, the last member of the group climbed on top of me.

She laid down on my back (and on several hooves), slipped her hooves under my shoulders, and pulled herself as close as she could.

Her head tested upon the back of mine.

I identified it was a cheek pressing itself on the back of my skull.

"I'm sorry, Christian," the voice of Twilight said from on top of me. "You still have us."

I was buried by hugs from Twilight and her friends (my mother always said "the ladies will be all over you").

They were all helping my "sinking feeling" fade away, and they were all making me feel warm and comfortable.

It made me want them to never leave.

"You still have us."

Twilight's friends will always be there for me when I need them.

My friends will always be there for me when I need them.
