Chapter 8: Maui owie!

"Tell me again how you lost the dinosaur card to these Kids? NOT TO MENTION THE MONEY!?" Dr. Z screamed angrily. "I send you three on an important simple mission, and yet you didn't come back with anything!"

While it is true that they failed to get Whirlwind, Dr. Z does not know that the money is safe. The three hid it away for their own needs, instead for him. They were better off coming back with something and giving it to the doc straight away, as before they could sneak away, Dr. Z dual wielded two stun rods right in front of them.

At the moment he took them out, thunder clouds were rolling in. At an instant, lightning struck the whole island, shocking everyone around and electrifying the island.

(zooming up on a body of water, the D-Team is seen. The guitars kick in and Pterosaurs flew near the D-team and flew into the blue skies. They then flew past the Humane six and Sonata as the prehistoric era was seen)

Chilling out with the crew in the schoolyard

(Max is seen, running along side his baby version of a baby Triceratops.)

Finding trouble, never working too hard

(Rex is seen next, running with a baby Carnotaurus.)

Back in class they never taught us this

(The humane six, Sonata and the D-Team join up as the three dinos glowed)

(Max takes out a card with an adult Triceratops and sweeps it along a handheld device.)

(Rex and Zoe follow suite and swipe their cards as well.)

(Both groups stand together with the three dinos at full strength with the dinos roaring.)

(Chomp and Max stand side by side as Chomp charges in.)

(Rex draws a new card as Ace stands ready for battle.)

(Zoe and Paris are right behind them as Zoe performs one of her unique moves when using her own move cards.)

(Sonata runs with a card in her hand, while being chased by a T-rex and tosses the card to Rex, who swipes it. A guitar solo then comes out as multiple dinos from the different elements ready their own signature moves. Among them are Terry, Spiny and Tank, tackling the Alpha gang and Terry biting Dr. Z's beard.)

(As all of the dinos begin fighting, on yeah, Max and Sunset give each other a high five. Then all of them are shown.)

(Chomp, Ace, Paris, even Terry, Spiny and Tank in their full forms dash around one another, fighting for what's at stake on both sides!)

(All three raise their cards into the air as the title shows, Terry's roar shaking it up just like in the original opening.)

At the Taylor household, Rex and Max were feeding their dinosaurs food. Ace was eating his happily, but apparently, Chomp was not. He was licking under paw and refusing to eat his food.

At that Point, Sunset and the others came by with their dinosaurs. They recently fed theirs before they arrived.

"Hey guys!" Rainbow said.

"Hey girls." Spike greeted. "Wait, I seem to notice you're missing someone."

"Oh, y'mean Rarity. Yeah, she's takin one of them relaxing vacations over somewhere." Aj replied.

Fluttershy noticed Chomps weakened behavior. "Oh my. What's wrong with Chomp?"

"We were figuring that out. He was fine this morning when we were taking them a walk in the woods." Rex explained.

"Yeah, and Chomp never turns down food. He'll eat basically anything." Max added.

"Wait, so does that mean you've been giving him junk food too?" Rainbow asked.

"Yeah, I've seen him. He gave him potato chips once, and ice cream sandwiches yesterday." Rex said.

"What?! No one told me I could do that with Fang!" Pinkie said.

"That's only because Fang won't go near your kitchen for some reason. He's a carnivore, so he wouldn't be interested in sweets." Sunset said.

"Either that, or he might have seen how much sugar pinkie puts into her cupcakes." Rainbow said.

Fang nodded, as one time he saw Pinkie adding a whole bag of sugar into a mixing bowl. Even after finishing them, she devoured half of the tray, and she was still fine. Fang thought then that maybe she ate so much sugar, her hyper behavior is just common and not caused by it. It didn't bother him a bit though. Give him a prime rib, and he's happy.

"Y'think Fang has it easy? Razor here's seen what mah family cooks for a livin." AJ said.

AJ made a solid point on Razor's behalf. He couldn't believe his eyes, apples in every single direction. It ranged from pies, muffins, donuts, any dish you can think of, is with apples. Of course, Razor liked to eat them just the way they were, but he was still curious about this "fizzy apple cider". Then again, looking at Chomp not eating and all these rumors of junk food not sitting with him, he'd rather wait to see if they were false.

"Anyway, we better take him to the vet, see if we can find the solution to his situation." Rex said.

They did so immediately, meeting Zoe there, as the girls found out this is what her family actually did for a living. Her mother was the owner of a pet shop, while her father was a vet.

"What are you saying, Max? That our dog food tastes bad?" Zoe asked.

"No, It's good! I mean…" Max tried to say.

"The food isn't the issue here. Chomp isn't feeling well, and he isn't eating like he used to. We were hoping the vet can help." Sunset explained.

"It's the truth, Zoe." Rex said. "So, is the animal hospital opened today? It kinda looks closed up."

"My dad has some calls, but I believe he should be back soon." Zoe replied.

Speak of the devil, her father came back in the shop.

"I'm back." he called.

"Dad! Perfect timing!" Zoe said smiling.

"Ah, the gang's all here, and I see you brought some friends over. A pleasure to meet you ladies." He said smiling at the group.

"Likewise, Mr. Drake." Sunset said.

"And this must be the tambourine girl that worked at the animal shelter a town away. I heard a lot about your records with how much you helped with the animals there." Mr. Drake smiled at Fluttershy.

"Check it out, Fluttershy, he knows you!" Rainbow said.

"Um...n...nice to meet you...sir." Fluttershy greeted shyly.

"Please excuse her, she's a bit shy around others." Sunset said.

"I see. So, what seems to be the problem?" Mr. Drake asked.

Meanwhile, along the beaches of maui while the power of Zeta Point was being fixed, the same thunderstorm rolled in over at Hawaii, which happens to be the place the groups fashionista was at. She decided to stay in for the storm preparations, but what she didn't know is that a lightning strike hit a sign, then a palm tree, then bounced back into an open capsule that was dug up, missing an additional move card.

Nevertheless, it activated, and from it came another horned Dinosaur, the lightning struck the card and it glowed to life, revealing a new dinosaur. It was a green horned herbivore, Styracosaurus.

Back at the vets…

Mr. Drake was checking Chomps heartbeat. He knew he was sick, but didn't know why.

"Huh, that's strange." he said.

"What? Is he really sick?" Max asked in concern.

"I have no clue." He responded, making Max and the girls to fall over.

"What is it then?" Zoe asked.

"I'm not sure. I'm not exactly good in dinosaur sickness. That said, it could be food poisoning or just a cold." Mr. Drake said.

"Um, maybe you should keep the dino thing on the downlow?" Rainbow asked.

"Oh, not to worry. I did keep Spike my word to keep this a secret." Mr. drake said. "As for Chomp, since he isn't eating well, I'll give him a little vitamin booster shot."

Chomp was surprised, as what was supposed to be a little injection needle was actually a massive one. Seeing to how big the needle was to his small size, Chomp whined in fear and jumped into Max's arms, not wanting the big needle to be injected into him.

"Jesus! You could gouge someone's eye with that, for crying out loud!" Sonata said.

"Why do you even have a syringe that big?" Sunset asked.

"This is supposed to be for elephants, but with a large dinosaur, it seems about the right size." Mr. Drake answered.

"He isn't at full size right now, though." Fluttershy said. "Why not give him some chewables instead?"

"Oh, very well. I guess I'll have to save it for later for another sick dinosaur in my office." He said.

The holders and shots beeped at that moment.

"A hit!" Rainbow said.

"But why is it in the middle of the ocean?" Max asked.

"Not exactly in the middle of the ocean, look closer." Rainbow said.

The two looked closer to see a small dot of land, hidden by the red blink.

They Hurried to the D-Lab.

"It's actually in Maui, along the Hawaiian coastline." Reese said.

"Hawaii? Really?!" Zoe asked. "Then it's a good thing I packed my bathing suit!"

"You packed a bathing suit for a mission?" Rainbow asked.

"You forgot, this isn't a vacation, sis." Reese said.

"Ah!" AJ said. "Now ah remember where Rarity was goin!"

In Maui, the storm had finally cleared as Rarity was in her new beach outfit with Scales being just himself.

"Ah, it's good to finally have a relaxing vacation, and in Hawaii. Wouldn't you agree, Scales?" Rarity asked, while she sun bathed.

Scales didn't mind so long as his back was getting a tan, but he would've done it without the outfits rarity brought for him to wear. He never understood all of these designs she created. It was clear to him that a species like him doesn't normally wear clothes. Good thing he had it in him to deny them politely. Suddenly, he perked up as he heard a roar. He nudged Rarity a bit.

"Oh, can't it wait five more…" Rarity said before seeing what Scales was looking at. On the hills, dozens of cows were stampeding. "...minutes?!"

Behind them was Styracosaurus, chasing the cows. It suddenly stopped when it spotted Rarity and Scales. It roared and charged at them.

"Eeeek! Of all the times for a dinosaur to be here on my vacation!" She shrieked while running with Scales in her arms.

Styraco got ahead and halted in front of Rarity.

"Don't eat us! Or, wait… you're a herbivore." Rarity said. "Well, that just so means I was running for nothing. Now, what are you doing here?"

Styracosaurus looked at the cows, who were still going.

"You thought they were dinosaurs?" She asked.

The herbivore roared gently, to her question. In truth, he felt kinda lonely when he arrived on the island, and just wanted to graze around with other dinosaurs.

"So you thought chasing us was meaning you found someone? I'd certainly say you have the right taste." Rarity said as Scales was a bit unsure what she was implying. "But wait.. If you're here, the others most certainly will be on their way, but where are those Alpha Gang ruffians? Hang on, let me try something." Rarity said. "Hello out there?! Is there an Old lady here!?"

As of like she knew, Ursula heard the shout from miles away. "I AM NOT OLD!" She bellowed.

Rarity didn't hear her or anyone else. "Well if she didn't hear that, she must not be aware of you right now."

Styracosaurus nodded in agreement. He then directed his attention to Rarity and Scales again.

"You want to know who my friends are? Well, I know six more of them, and three kids. One even has a dinosaur like you." Rarity said. "He's big and orange and has three horns and a crest, similar to you, but pardon my honesty, but your horns are more different. Eight along the rim your crest and one near your snout."

Styracosaurus knew this, but what was she doing, analyzing her?

"Oh, now I see your potential, your crest horns act as a shield to protect you from harm, and the one on your nose drives into your enemies like a…" Rarity got an idea. "... like a Lance. Of course! Your name should be Lance."

The Styracosaurus, now named Lance, actually liked his new name. In return, he licked her cheek lightly.

Scales then looked to the sea, and saw something coming. Two big shadows aweer on a sailboat coming right to them, and it was all too familiar.

"Hmm? Oh!" Rarity said.

On the rim of the boat was Terry and Spiny themselves waving back and forth as they cruised along the ocean with the Alpha Gang in a cockpit behind them.

"Spiny and Terry. I should've known how quick they'd get here." Rarity said.

"Rrrrgh! I heard what you said about me, you fancy brat! Now, I'm gonna get my revenge!" ursula snapped angrily.

"Wow. You heard that over a massive mile radius?" Rarity asked in surprise. "Well, I'll give you points on your acute hearing, dear."

"Somehow, I think Ursula's revenge always means more work for us." Zander said.

"And More bruises." Ed added.

"Would you two quit your whining? Were the Alpha Gang, and we strike fear into others! And if we don't bring back another dinosaur card to Dr. Z today, we'll be the ones getting struck!" Ursula snapped at the two.

"Good point, start the attack!" Zander said in panic.

"Listen up, you fancy brat! We're gonna grab that Styracosaurus and your Saltasaurus and send you back to your friends in tears faster than you can say Waikiki!" Ursula snapped as the area shifted into a dimensional battlefield. Terry and Spiny roared as the boat picked up speed.

"Wait, I just thought of something! If the boats all balanced now, then what's gonna happen if they jumped off of it?" Ed asked.

"Now you decide to grow a brain?!" Ursula said as Terry and Spiny jumped off, and they fell into the water. The two carnivores landed on the beach and roared at Rarity.

"Two carnivores against one herbivore, is it? Well, how about we even the playing field? Ready, Scales!?" Rarity asked.

Scales nodded before rarity's beach outfit was tossed off onto him and Rarity was already back in her usual attire. Lance was confused as to how that just happened.

"I'll just say this to you Lance, never underestimate my considerable skills in fashion. Now, ready yourself!" Rarity said holding her shot.

Lance nodded and assumed battle position, showing his massive horn at the carnivores. Rarity called Scale's card and spun her shot and inserted the card.

"Energize!" She called spinning her wheel, and having water spin around her. "Unleash the power!" She shot Scales card out and he appeared in full size, roaring. "Now, let's teach them not to interfere with my vacation! Oh, but first I should…"

"Rarity, you alright?!" Zoe asked as he visual cam up with the others. "I can't believe you were in Maui and you didn't tell us a dinosaur was there!"

"She's just jealous because you went there for some R and R, but whats happening? You run into the Alpha Gang?" Sunset asked.

"Afraid so. They arrived when I found Lance." Rarity said.

"Were on our way. Chomps ready to go, because Fluttershy found the real reason Chomp was down, a thorn! Can you believe it only took that to stop him from eating?" Max asked.

"Cut the chatter later, darling! I'm in a battle, and hurry!" Rarity said as Terry bashed Lance.

(Cue-Tekken 7 OST- Jungle Outpost Round 1)

Spiny swatted Lance with his tail, as Scales charged in and swatted him his own tail.

"Stop ganging up on Lance, you! It's bad manners, and you remember Scales from the amazon, don't you?" Rarity said.

The three emerged from the water while holding onto whatevers left of the ship.

"Does it sound like we care about fair battles, fancy wench?" Ursula shouted.

The others arrived at that moment and headed to the beach.

"Rarity!" Sunset said.

"Oh thank goodness, I was about to lose my temper because she called me a wench." Rarity said. She then saw Chomp looking at lance and was worried as Terry was battling him in the water. "Max, if you would be so kind as to give Lance a hand with Terry? He's thrashing him around like a cruise liner in a hurricane!"

"You got it!" Max said and called Chomp's card. "DINO-SLASH! Go, Triceratops!" Chomp bursted out from lightning and roared. He then charged in and gave lance a hand.

"Let's help them out!" Rex said to the others.

"Right!" they all called their cards.

"DINO-SLASH!" Zoe and Rex called.

"Carnotaurus, blow them away!"

"Parasaurolophus, Bloom!" Their partners sprung up by their elements and roared, and joined the battle. As Paris went to help Chomp and Lance, Ace stopped at the shoreline and roared in fear.

"Uh, what's wrong with Ace?" Rainbow asked.

"Oh no…" Rex said as Ace backed up a bit. "Ace is… afraid of the water."

"What!? We need his help to get Lance out of there!" Rainbow said.

"Paris will help them. Since Scales and Spiny are fighting closer to shore, how about ace helps him?" Sonata said as they saw the two giants bash up into the hills.

"Now that Ace can do. You up for that instead?" Rex asked.

More comfortable fighting on land, Ace roared and charged in to help Scales. He jumped into the air and headbutted spiny across the jaw, giving Scales an opening to clamp down on his neck.

Meanwhile on the water, lance got tossed back and was a bit damaged from the beating he took from Terry early on.

"Zoe, Lance could use some help!" rarity said.

"On it!" Zoe replied, taking out a card. "Natures Blessing! Paris, heal Lance!" Paris roared and charged her healing skill, but Terry bashed her before she got the chance to heal Lance.

"He went for paris first instead of going after chomp?" Fluttershy asked.

"He knew from last time in Egypt that move helped Chomp win. He must be learning about our dinosaurs moves." Sunset said.

"He may have gotten smarter, but he still can't stand against this." Max said. "Time to use Electric Charge!"

"Not so fast." Ursula said holding two scanners. "Tail smash… and Neck crusher." Ed and Zander took the cards and swiped them on the scanners, causing both Spiny and Terry to glow.

"Max, ya gotta beat em to the punch!" AJ said.

"I know! Electric Charge!" Max called and activated Chomps move card. Chomp was engulfed in lightning, ready to strike. But spiny and Terry were faster, as Spiny leaped into the air and slammed down on Chomp with a downwards strike with his tail, this gave Terry an opening to push Chomp into the air, and cause both predators to bash him with their tails, causing Lance and Chomp to tumble back and fall.

Unable to withstand the damage, Lance returned to his card.

"I got it, I got it!" Rainbow siad running for the card before the grapple claw of the Alpha gang grabbed it off the water first.

"No, WE got it first!" Ursula laughed.

"No, they got Lance!" Zoe said. Their work done, Spiny and Terry were called back into their mini forms as the trio kicked what remained of the boat back to HQ.

"NO! Come back!" Rarity shouted, but they were out of reach for them to swim to get Lance back. Chomp roared in sadness, in lost of a family member, now in the hands of the enemies.

At sunset…

"I can't believe they got another card." Zoe said.

"Don't worry, it's like Rainbow said before, we win sometimes, but today we lost a battle, but they didn't win the war." Sunset said.

"But what about lance? They have them, and we don't know where their base is." Max said.

"When we find them, we'll get Lance back, promise." rarity said, though she was sad that she lost a friend. "I know he's going to be the next one I acquire. I swear Lance, when we locate you, I will bring you back. I promise."

"Hey wait, what's this?" Max said picking up a card in the water. "This is… Lance's move card!"

"Lighting Spear. This card must have dropped when he was awakened." Rainbow said.

"Max, why don't you hold onto it for right now?" Rarity said.

"Yeah, until we get Lance back." Max said.

At Zeta point, Dr. Z had already brainwashed Lance with the Alpha controller.

"Well, you three did something right for once." Z said, now happy by their accomplishment. "For that you get a reward."

His reward was a blow kiss. Ed and Ursula dodged it, but Zander was hit by it, making him fall.

"Uh, could we have a different reward, like a big dinner?" Ed asked.

"Or maybe some money perhaps?" Ursula added.

"We could celebrate with a dinner, but Helga doesn't know how to cook anymore, due to the lightning shock. As of now, you three are on kitchen duty, and make it good, I can eat a whole dinosaur." Z said as his stomach growled loudly.

Sunset: Woah, you alright, Rex? You look horrible.

Rex: I didn't get any sleep from the construction going on last night.

Max: I didn't hear a thing.

Rainbow: Guys! An Ankylosaurus is rampaging down in the towns subway system!

Fluttershy: The poor thing. It must be because of all the noise scaring him or something.

Rex: Looks like we have something in common.
