Chapter 6: Don't mess with Maiasaura

The majestic Swiss Alps. Home of the tallest mountain in the world, Mt. Everest. But the capsule of today wasn't to be found there. Rather on a grassy field, where a sheep was looking at it on the side of the cliff face. As the sheep touched it, the capsule bounced off and landed. Not able to understand what it was, the goat turned around and kicked it. The capsule landed and broke open, revealing a new dinosaur card, along with a move card.

The wind brushed the grass, as the grass brushed the cards. Feeling the green nature, the crd glowed green and shifted. The sheep was then surprised to be staring right at the face of a full-grown Maiasaura.

The herbivore landed on the ground and bellowed, until she saw its newcomers. The sheep and goats were confused to what was going on.

(zooming up on a body of water, the D-Team is seen. The guitars kick in and Pterosaurs flew near the D-team and flew into the blue skies. They then flew past the Humane six and Sonata as the prehistoric era was seen)

Chilling out with the crew in the schoolyard

(Max is seen, running along side his baby version of a baby Triceratops.)

Finding trouble, never working too hard

(Rex is seen next, running with a baby Carnotaurus.)

Back in class they never taught us this

(Zoe was next, running with a baby Parasaurolophus)

Some things you gotta learn, hit or miss!

(The humane six, Sonata and the D-Team join up as the three dinos glowed)

Tough times, hard climbs

(Max takes out a card with an adult Triceratops and sweeps it along a handheld device.)

We'll take them all together!

(Rex and Zoe follow suite and swipe their cards as well.)

Right now, let's go!

(Both groups stand together with the three dinos at full strength with the dinos roaring.)

Game on, get your game on!

(Chomp and Max stand side by side as Chomp charges in.)

Come on, you better play your cards right!

(Rex draws a new card as Ace stands ready for battle.)

(Zoe and Paris are right behind them as Zoe performs one of her unique moves when using her own move cards.)

You'll make the grade and win this fight!

(Sonata runs with a card in her hand, while being chased by a T-rex and tosses the card to Rex, who swipes it. A guitar solo then comes out as multiple dinos from the different elements ready their own signature moves. Among them are Terry, Spiny and Tank, tackling the Alpha gang and Terry biting Dr. Z's beard.)

You'll make the grade somehow,

(As all of the dinos begin fighting, on yeah, Max and Sunset give each other a high five. Then all of them are shown.)

Game on, get your game on!

Come on, you better play your cards right!

(Chomp, Ace, Paris, even Terry, Spiny and Tank in their full forms dash around one another, fighting for what's at stake on both sides!)

(All three raise their cards into the air as the title shows, Terry's roar shaking it up just like in the original opening.)

It was a quiet day at Zeta point, as the Alpha gang was doing their own thing. Ursula, being herself, was about to make some fashion purchases with some company money until Helga swooped in on time and canceled it.

"Cancelled?!" Ursula asked in shock. "What's the big idea!?" She snapped angrily, before she noticed it was Helga.

"No using the company money on such things!" She snapped.

"But, it's an emergency! You expect me to keep wearing the same outfit all the time!? It's a fashion disaster!" She fake cried, hoping she would buy it.

"Pretending to cry will not help." Helga said, making Ursula pout.

"I love how others get into trouble." Zander chuckled, along with Ed.

"Especially since it's not us." Ed said, but Helga scowled at the two as well.

"You keep your hands off of this diseased candy!" Helga snapped, taking the sweets Ed was eating.

"Start cleaning up after yourself!" She said next, vacuuming up the little pieces of a toy Zander was working on.

Dr. Z came into the lab at that moment, not knowing Terry was latched onto his beard by the jaw. He may be getting used to it, or the fact he doesn't know since he's excited by a new announcement.

"A new dinosaur has appeared! Everyone at the control room!" He announced. They all moved in to see the location of the dinosaur.

"Where is it at? Paris, Mullan, near a shoe store?" Ursula asked.

"It seems the card is located in Europe, but near Switzerland." Zander points out.

"The swiss alps, to be more exact." Z said.

"Oh great, what do I need to buy there, a snowboard?" Ursula said.

"Just wait, I've already booked your flight. First class, all the way!" Z exclaimed.

At the Taylor Household….

Things were different at the Taylor house for the D-Team. After finishing up their school days, Sunset and their friends finally got out and headed to Max's home. They entered to see Zoe already there.

"Hey Zoe, you look upset for some reason, anything wrong?" Sunset asked.

"Anything wrong? Just look at this mess the boys made!" She exclaimed, holding her hand out to the messy family room and dining room. There was garbage, clothing, and even left dishes left out all over the place.

"Dear me." Rarity said.

"I know! Ohhh, it makes me so mad!" Zoe growled, until she stomped to Max's room. "Max!?"

She opened the door quickly, seeing Max on his floor, reading a book.

"Hey, ever heard of knocking, Zoe?" Max asked.

"Oh no you don't! Do not change the subject here! We're supposed to keep the house clean while your mom is away!" She snapped angrily. That was then Rex came in.

"Hey, everything alright?" He asked.

"Rex, before Zoe turns on you, please tell me at least you kept your room clean." Rarity said.

Rex calmly smiled and guided them to his room. He opened it, allowing the girls to see. They all gasped in surprise. His room was clean. Not a single piece of garbage anywhere.

"That answer your question?" Rex smugly smirked in triumph.

"Wow Rex, I didn't take you for the responsible type." Rainbow said.

"Ah already saw in him. He looks it too." AJ said.

"I'm not one that likes to trash up the place. To be honest, Max was the one was made most of the mess, part of it Spike Taylor as well." Rex explained.

"Zoe, you're not gonna make him clean up, right? Rex really isn't the messy one here." Fluttershy asked.

"Well...I guess not, but since he is part of the household, he should at least contribute to at least helping out a little." Zoe said.

"Wow, compromise by fluttershy." Rex said.

"It's the simple case of good cop, bad cop. Zoe puts the instructions out, while Fluttershy mediates things from going to far." Rainbow said.

Zoe walked back into Max's room, while Rex entered as well.

"Since you and your dad are responsible for making most of the mess in the house, you and him will be cleaning most of it up!" Zoe snapped. "What made you think that we were gonna do it?"

"Well, isn't cleaning a girl thing?" Max asked.

"Why of all the nerve!" Rarity said.

"Max, sometimes guys have to pitch in too. You can't dump everything on someone." Sunset said.

"Not to mention having better manners with ladies." Rarity swished her hair back.

"Get up, lazy bum!" Zoe snapped, making him jerk up. "The first thing you're gonna do, is start cleaning up your room!" She grabbed some of his clothing and threw it on his head. "We'll be back in 10 minutes to inspect!" She then left.

"Wait, when did we get a part in this?" Rainbow asked.

Downstairs, the dinos were doing their own thing. Zoe came down and noticed that Razor was using his tail to sweep the floor. Blaze was holding a Garbage bag to get the garbage in that Razor was sweeping.

"Wow, you two really work nicely. You clean up nice unlike some people in the house." Zoe said.

"Look, even Scales is helping." Rainbow said as the girls and Rex came downstairs.

"Even Blaze is. I gotta say, you girls really know how to handle dinosaurs." Rex said in amazement.

Fang was looking around, looking for something to do, he then walked off before Zoe caught him.

"Fang? You're new here, so you have to help too! Just find a job to do already!" Zoe said.

Fang was a carnivore, so hed make things worse. But he did find something to do. He leaped up to the table and grabbed a dirty dish in his jaws. Aiming for the sink, he tossed it like a frisbee dwarf-company style.

"I got it!" Rainbow quickly caught it in time before it can shatter against the wall.

"Thats an idea!" Pinkie said playing the dwarf company's song from An Unexpected Journey on her phone. Fang got the rhythm and went to the other plates.

Blunt the knives and bend the forks!

Smash the bottles and burn the corks!

Chip the glasses and crack the plates!

That's what Bilbo Baggins hates -

Cut the cloth and tread the fat!

Leave the bones on the bedroom mat!

Pour the milk on the pantry floor!

Splash the wine on every door!

Dump the crocks in a boiling bowl;

Pound them up with a thumping pole;

And when you've finished, if any are whole,

Send them down the hall to roll!

That's what Bilbo Baggins hates!

Paris was listening to the song the entire time, and decided to add her own voice to the song. But to Chomp and Ace, It was just as if she was screeching the entire time. Chomp had enough and bit down on Paris's tail.

"Are you okay, Paris? Hey, what's going on!?" Zoe snapped when she saw Chomp biting her tail. "Chomp! What do you think you're doing?!"

She grabbed Chomp and forced him off Paris's tail.

"That's not nice. Y'know, you're almost as immature as Max is." Zoe said.

"At least Ace didn't act up. Look at him." Rex said as they saw the little carnotaurus pushing a garbage bag with Blaze.

Soon enough, Spike joined in when Zoe caught him lassoing.

"Now, I want this place Spotless by the time Ms. Taylor Gets home! I'm going to finish up the kitchen, and don't try to goof off because I will know!" Zoe said walking off.

Rex grabbed the garbage Ace and Blaze were pushing and threw it in the big garbage can in the back.

"Wow. She acts worse than mom." Max said.

"I dunno Max, your mom can be pretty fierce at times." Spike mentioned.

"Really? Are all girls like that?" Rex asked.

"Uh, were standing right here, y'know." Rainbow said crossing her arms.

"Uh, no offense to you ladies of course." Rex said chuckling sheepishly.

"But Zoes still young, if I'm being honest. Why would she want to act mature?" Rarity asked.

"Probably because she likes being bossy." Rex said.

"I'll tell you why everyone. There's something in all women. It's called maternal instinct." Spike explained.

"I think Zoe just has annoying instincts." Max said.

"A good mother wants to be strong to protect their children. That's why she's being so bossy." Spike said.

"Yeah, but the fact is, Zoe is not a mom." Sonata said.

"Now, if you all don't mind, I'm heading to the D-Lab." Spike said.

"You just wanna get outta cleaning for Zoe and you know it." Rainbow said making Spike stop as he was leaving.

"Th-that.s not true at all." Spike said nervously.

"Guys, be honest about this. We can't drop everything and leave unless we have a good enough reason." Sunset said.

As if on cue, the Holders and shots beeped.

"Looks like we have a good enough reason now." Max smiled, happy that a dinosaur popped out.

"But wait, we aren't finished. We can't just go after the dinosaur and not think Zoe will know we skipped out." Sunset said.

"Not to worry. I got that covered." Spike said.

A little later, Zoe returned to the family room. It was somewhat clean, but still messy.

"Hey, where did they go!?" Zoe snapped. She then noticed a note on the table and read it.

"Zoe, if you see this, we left to head to the D-Lab in a hurry. A dinosaur has been located. We thought we should leave you this note to help you understand we had to leave for a reason. Get to the Lab immediately so we can get that Dinosaur before the Alpha Gang does. Sunset Shimmer." Zoe read. She understood it was a dinosaur, but they could've at least told her in person. By the time she got it, the others were already to the Swiss Alps.

At said location, the goats and sheep had adapted quite well to the Maiasaura living amongst them. As per their nature, the Maiasaura had laid an egg almost minutes after it arrived. The goats and sheep gathered around, as if they knew what to protect. Suddenly, Maiasaura heard the sound of a motor, as the Alpha Gang's flight was right above them.

Knowing they had first class, they decided to show off. But Ursula, as usual, tried to make the flight for herself, and made the mistake of having all of them transfer to economy class, under the pilot of a strange individual. Get used to him, because in certain episodes, he'll be in different roles and personas, so keep your eyes out.

Over the alps already, the plane's engine started to smoke.

"Looks like we have a problem." he said.

"What? What do you mean?" Ursula asked.

However, he got up and placed a parachute near them and saluted. "Farewell, and good luck!" Shocking them, he then jumped out.

As the plane lost power, they started to fall. The three started to fight over the parachute, until Ursula grabbed it and jumped out. However, Ed and Zander were not far behind and grabbed her feet as the parachute opened. Due to the weight, they fell hard.

As for the plane, it sailed down to the field where Maiasaura was living. Sensing danger, the goat herd scattered. But Maiasaura stayed by her egg, for it will hatch pretty soon. The plane barely missed her, but exploded close to her, making her panic and roar at anything that might take her egg.

Fluttershy was the first to arrive on the scene and right in front of the Maiasaura. She teleported away from the group a little, while they teleported a different distance from her and the Maiasaura.

"A Maiasaura! And Fluttershy's right in front of it!" Rex said in panic.

"No problem! Let's go, Chomp!" Max said as he called Chomps card. "DINO-"

"Max, wait!" Sunset quickly said, stopping Max from swiping Chomps card.

"What? I was just about to.." Max started, but then saw Fluttershy carefully walking over to the panicked mother. "Oh."

"I think Fluttershy knows what's wrong with it." Rainbow said.

Fluttershy looked at the egg, then back to Maiasaura.

"You poor thing. Whatever happened to scare you must have made you protective over you egg." Fluttershy calmly said.

The Maiasaura slowly calmed, but kept her defense up, in case of she was a threat.

"I won't hurt you, I promise." Fluttershy said almost to her heat before a threatening roar pierced the air and Terry made a crashing entrance down into the two. The impact made the egg roll over to Fluttershy. "Eeep! But he might!"

"It's Terry!" Max said in shock.

"The Alpha Gang is here then!" Sunset said.

"But where? I don't see them." Sonata said.

"I have an idea." Pinkie said. "Hey, Old laddyyyyyy!" She called out into the vast valley.

"I Am Not Old!" Ursula shouted from a different distance.

"Over there!" Rainbow said seeing them on the other side of the valley.

"Fluttershy, just let Maiasaura battle and protect you, we'll find a way down there!" Sunset called.

"Make it quick!" She called.

Terry then bashed Maiasaura out of the way, and faced the timid girl. The egg was close to her. The Tyrannosaurus grew interested in the egg and started to approach it.

"Uh oh!" AJ said. "I'd better get Razor in there, and quick!"

She revealed Razor's card and whirled it around, opening the compartment and putting the card in and closing it. She put it up to face level by whirling it around. "Energize!" she said spinning the wheel and kicking up earth. "Unleash the power!" Shooting out his card, Razor grew to full size and roared.

Terry grew very close, as Fluttershy backed up into a cliff, carefully holding the egg close to her. At the last second before going into bite, Razor jumped in the way and blocked Terry's teeth with his spiky armor. Gums penetrated by the razor sharp spikes, Terry roared in pain and stepped back.

"Oh, thank you Razor." Fluttershy said. Razor nodded and held his ground.

The Maiasaura then got up and recovered only to find her egg missing just as Zoe and Paris warped in.

"Guys! Leave me behind, will you?!" She snapped.

"Uh oh, busted!" Rainbow said.

The Maiasaura saw her egg in Fluttershy's tender arms, while Razor was blocking Terry's attacks. She knew immediately that Fluttershy and Razor weren't the enemy, but Terry was. But even she knew better than to take a tyrannosaurus head on. Luckily, she had a move on her, and decided to use it. Glowing green, she bellowed and leaped into the air, catching Terry off guard and slamming into him.

The alpha gang saw this while running down the hill.

"Whoa! She just did a Diving Press!" Ed said and he lost his footing and rolled into the other two.

The impact of the attack caused Fluttershy to lose her footing and drop the egg as it rolled down the hill.

"No! The Egg!" She shouted and ran for it. The egg continued to roll as it was heading for a cliff. The Maiasaura saw it and knew she didn't have enough time to save it.

However, due to the group and her shock, Fluttershy jumped when the egg rolled off the cliff. She caught the egg in her arms and rolled onto her back, taking most of the damage, while the egg remained unharmed.

Maiasaura saw all of that. There was someone else besides her own kind that was willing to risk their life for something. She saw Kindness in Fluttershy's heart. Deep down, she was grateful that she risked her life to save her young one inside the shell.

"Owww." Fluttershy moaned a little, while getting up. At that, she looked over the egg, making sure it was alright. Seeing no damages, she sighed in relief. "Thank goodness."

"We have to help Maiasaura and Razor." Max said.

"I don't think that will be a problem." Rainbow said, pointing at the battle. With her egg safe, Maiasaura focused back on terry. Still enraged to almost destroying her young, she Bellowed and used every ounce of her strength and rammed terry in the stomach, sending him flying and crash into the ground. With no energy left, Terry moaned and returned to his card.

"Yes!" Rex said before hearing a cry.

"And just in time, too." Sunet said.

Knowing that was the cry of her young, Maiasaura walked to where fluttershy was and saw her baby has hatched safe and sound. The young one was getting acquainted with the shy girl, as she licked her cheek, making her giggle.

"I gotta admit, it's really great seeing that baby hatch." Rainbow said.

The Alpha Gang ran down the hill chanting about omelets because they noticed the egg before, but noticed Fluttershy holding the baby next to the hatched egg.

"Oh, our egg hatched." Ursula said, noticing the baby Maiasaura.

"Now, what do we do!?" Ed cired anime tears.

"I like my eggs firm, but this is ridiculous! I refuse to eat that!" Zander injected.

"But we can still take the little runt!" Ursula points out.

Fluttershy saw the Alpha gang approaching and heard about taking the young one. She backed up while holding the baby close to her.

Just then, Maiasaura appeared, and Chomp and Ace gathered the goat herd as they all gathered together around Fluttershy.

"Yeah, I wouldn't do that if I were you three." Rainbow said smirking.

Maiasaura snorted angrily at the three, pawing the ground in a threatening warning to back off, while the goats bellowed and readied their horns to charge at the villians.

"May a make a suggestion?" Rarity asked. "Run."

"Good idea!" The three shouted in panic by the goats and Maiasaura and ran for the hills.

After the Alpha Gang was gone, Fluttershy gently placed the baby Maiasaura down.

"There you are. Go on to your mom, sweetie." Fluttershy softly said patting the young ones back.

The young and mother reunited as the Maiasaura looked at Fluttershy. It wanted to go back into its card and be with its young for the rest of it's life. But she knew with evil like the alpha gang out there, no one is safe.

"I already know what you're thinking." Rainbow said. "You wanna help us right?"

The Maiasaura bellowed gently, as the Dino Holders glowed and the three heard Maiasaura's voice, but even Fluttershy's Shot glowed and she even heard her voice.

"We want to leave, but I must stay. Will she accept me?" she asked.

"Of course I will. And I will name you, Maya." Fluttershy smiled sweetly while stroking her snout.

Maya turned back into a card and went into fluttershy's hands.

Back at the house….

"That sounds amazing. I wish I was there to see that." Spike said.

"Yeah, and we saw how much mothers love their kids. Maternal instinct, right?" Max said.

"I guess so, that Maiasaura was ready to ready to fight for that egg." Rex added in.

"Exactly." Zoe chimed in. "Because women are powerful, unlike some people who run away from their duties."

"Oh come on!" Rainbow said.

"Now, I want to see this place spot…" Zoe said turning to see the entire house clean. "..less?"

Everyone was surprised to see Fang, Blaze and Iry standing by a clean house.

"Wow…!" Max said.

"Fang, Blaze, Iry… you three did all this?" Zoe asked in shock.

"So that's why they didn't come with us, and a good thing too." Rarity said.

Fluttershy the came into the room, holding three plates, each with a large juicy steak. "For their hard work, I made them this special steak for them." She placed them down and the three carnivores happily started eating their special dinner.

"I'm glad they like it. It could've been worse with Maya if they decided to come." Sunset said.

"Yup. If they went after the egg, they would've gotten off on the wrong foot." Rex said as all of them laughed.

Max: Another dinosaur has appeared, and it's in...the studio!?

Rex: It's a Utahraptor!

Rainbow: That Utahraptor will be my Partner! I still need a dinosaur as a partner for my own!
