After an intense struggle through Mushroom Hill Zone, the four heroes find themselves in a forest of the area. But there's something obviously wrong. All the trees there have been cut down by something, and that something was seemed robotic. "What cut all of these trees...?" Twilight asked aloud as she looked at the cut trees in awe. Hearing this, Sonic looked over at the lavender alicorn. "You should know. It was Egghead, and something tells me that jerk isn't far behind this path of destruction." Sonic explains. "Are you sure Sonic? These look like they were cut days ago." RD says. "Sonic and I couldn't be surer. We are never far behind Eggman, and usually he doesn't have time to cover his tracks of destruction." Tails says. "Nor does he want to." Sonic adds. Twilight, nor Rainbow Dash, could argue with the explanation said by the two young heroes, so they just continued on their way in silence...

Or at least it would be that way...

Suddenly, a stump from one of the cut down trees is thrown at the blue blur. Given no time to react, he is unfortunately hit by the stump, and thrown back a few feet. The blue hero luckily regains his footing, and starts to look around. "Alright! Who did that!?" Sonic calls out. Without even needing an introduction, an flying robot with an ax appears in front of the four heroes. At seeing this robot, the blue hedgehog just smirks with confidence. "Another one of Egghead's toys, eh? This should be easy." Sonic says, running towards the flying robot.

(Cue Sonic 3 and Knuckles Miniboss music)

The blue hero jumps at the ax robot, and Homing Attack it, but the ax robot quickly retaliates by throwing its ax directly at Sonic. He is unfortunately hit in the left shoulder by the sharp part of the ax, causing a cut to form there before Sonic falls back on the ground. The robot quickly grabs its ax from Sonic's shoulder, before quickly flying back upwards. "Grrrr..." Sonic growls, holding his left shoulder in pain. "SONIC!" RD and Tails cry out at seeing Sonic's injury. Sure, the injury does hurt the hedgehog, but it doesn't faze him. "Heh, you want me dead? You'll have to catch me first." Sonic says, disappearing from everyone's sight. No one could see Sonic, except Rainbow Dash, since she has experienced the disappearing speed trick before. The blue blur quickly reappeared in front of the robot, and kicked it in the head, causing some damage to the robot. Now clearly mad, the robot starts to chop a tree next to it, and send the chopped parts as projectiles at the heroes. Sonic and a Tails easily sidestepped out of the way of the flying chopped wood, while Twilight used it as her own projectiles, and sent it back at the robot. The ax robot saw this coming, and used its ax to cut the wooden projectiles in half.

Little did the robot now that was a distraction.

Just as the ax robot cut the last projectile wood, Rainbow Dash flew in front of the bot, and bucked it straight in the face. This sent the robot back a few feet, and caused it to start to spark. The robot, now really mad, started to use its ax differently. The sharp part of the ax opened up, and revealed itself to be a machine gun! "A FUCKING GUN!? Just great!" Sonic exclaims. The robot started to fire at Sonic, making the blue blur have to quickly dodge the bullets. He unfortunately walked in front of Twilight, making her conjure up a shield before her body was full of holes. "Can you be... Anymore reckless?" Twilight asked, obviously annoyed. "Sorry." Sonic said, quickly side-stepping to stop from being filled with bullets. After a few more shots, the robot finally runs out of ammo, giving the heroes a chance to finish the robot. The blue blur runs at the ax robot, and Homing Attacks straight through the bot, cutting it in half. The two pieces of the robot fall to the ground before exploding.

(End Sonic 3 and Knuckles Miniboss music)

"Hmph, to easy!" Sonic exclaims, crossing his arms in happiness. The others though, aren't really that happy with the hedgehog "YOU IDIOT! YOU COULD'VE GOT US ALL KILLED!" Twilight yells out, her eyes starting to glow red. Hearing the arguing Twilight, Rainbow Dash brings herself into the conversation. "Well he didn't, did he?" RD asks Twilight. "No, but he could've! That robot was really close to killing us both Rainbow." Twilight explains. "And did it? No. Now calm down bookworm, we need to get going." RD says. "Alright..." Twilight says. With that, the heroes trek on deeper into the chopped down forest

(Minutes later)

After seeing a bunch of more chopped trees, the heroes finally make it to the exit of the forest. "Finally!" RD cries out. The rainbow pegasus quickly flies forward...

And straight into a wall.

She crashes straight into the wall, and slides down to the ground before falling flat on her face. "Ow..." RD whispers as her face hits the ground. The other three heroes quickly catch up to the rainbow pegasus, and Sonic helps her up. "You okay Rainbow Dash? That seemed like a hard hit." Sonic says. "I'm fine Sonic." RD says, touching her snout. At doing so, a sharp pain goes through her head. "OW!" RD screams. "That's not okay. Hold still Rainbow Dash." Twilight says, charging her horn with magic energy. The lavender alicorn shoots a laser into Rainbow's snout, resulting in even more pain. "OW! WHAT THE FUCK TWILIGHT! THAT REALLY HURT!" RD snaps. "Sorry, the healing spell can, and will hurt." Twilight says. Moments later, the rainbow pegasi' snout is healed, and she faces the wall she crashed into. "Alright, now to get rid of this stupid wall." RD whispers. Just as she is about to pound her way through the wall, Rainbow Dash and the rest of the heroes hear a familiar laughter coming from the other side of the wall. It is Knuckles. "Looks like, you're not going through. So, bye." Knuckles says through the wall. Then suddenly, a giant fan is hear turning on below the heroes, and starts to push them upwards. The four heroes hang on the ground for dear life, but the fan was to strong as it pushed the four of them upwards. The fan's power was soon out of reach of the heroes, causing them to stop flying upwards. The four of them looked downwards, and saw the ground below was pretty far down. "GOD DAAAAAAAAAMIT!" Sonic yelled out as he and the other four fell towards the ground. The last thing the four of them remember before becoming unconscious, was hitting the ground...
