Author: Been awhile since the last chapter. Oh well, lets get this over with.

We arrive at a grassy area, surrounded by giant mushrooms...

Wait, giant mushrooms?

That's right, the next zone, is Mushroom Hill! We scan the area for a bit, until the heroes are seen. All of them are unconscious from the fall last time, and it seems peaceful... Then, Sonic wakes up most suddenly. "Uh... My head..." Sonic thinks, clenching his head. The blue blur looks around, and sees his comrades unconscious, then he remembers what had happened last time. "Guys! Wake up!" Sonic calls out.

No response.

Seeing no one had moved, Sonic tried the next best thing. The same thing he tried when he woke up the others back at South Island in Mystic Cave Zone. "GUYS! WAKE UP! I MADE BREAKFAST!" Sonic yells at the top of his lungs. Now that, sure enough, woke up everyone in surprise. "Really?!" RD exclaims. Sonic smiles, and shakes his head. "Nope! Don't you remember I used this trick on you guys back at the cave?" Sonic asks. "Oh... Dammit!" Tails exclaims. Sonic sighs at his best friend. "Seriously Tails? And you tell me not to say bad words..." Sonic says under his breath. Tails laughs nervously at Sonic, before taking a look at the surrounding area. Nothing but giant mushrooms, and Eggman's robots as far as the eye could see. "Wow, well this is something you don't see everyday." Sonic says, putting his left hand on his hip. "That is true." Twilight says. The heroes start to head deeper into Mushroom Hill, preparing for whatever dangers Eggman or Knuckles has in store for them...

(Minutes later)

Barely just getting through the Mushroom Hill, the heroes come across a cliff that could mean certain death if they aren't careful. "Lets turn back. We might be heading the wrong way." Tails says, starting to turn around. The others don't listen to the fox, and instead look off the edge of the cliff. At the bottom of the cliff, which is no more than a few feet, is some more road. Before being able to tell Tails though, suddenly, Knuckles' head sticks through the cliff's wall. The red echidna looks towards his sides, to see if no one is watching, then he jumps onto a hidden button before running off deep into Mushroom Hill Zone. "What are you h-" Sonic asks aloud. The blue blur doesn't get to finish his sentence, as the ground near the cliff, which Rainbow, Twilight, and himself are standing on, collapse under their weight. "OW!" Sonic and the ponies yell out as they land on top of each other. The heroes get off each other, and back on their feet, as Tails flies over to them, and lands near them. "You okay guys?" Tails asks. "Don't worry Tails, we're fine." Sonic says, brushing himself off. The blue blur looks behind Tails, and sees the same button Knuckles had jumped on before leaving. "Now, what are you hiding?..." Sonic thinks. The blue blur jumps on the hidden button, and sure enough, a hidden passageway that was inside the cliff wall, opens up. "A hidden passage?" Twilight asks aloud. "Hidden, smidden. Lets see what's inside!" RD exclaims.

Before anyone could stop the rainbow speedster, she flew inside the passageway as fast as she could, only to come in contact with a wall at the end of the passageway! "Ow!" RD exclaims, hitting the wall. She is quickly joined by the other heroes, who stop just a few feet in front of her. "It can't be..." Sonic says aloud. The bleu blur looks toward the ground, and sure enough, the red Chaos Emerald is just resting there! Rainbow looks over at where Sonic is staring, and she gets a smile on her face. "WE FOUND THE LAST EMERALD!" RD yells excitedly. Her yell echoes through the passageway, and nearly has the others go deaf. "Next time, don't yell in a small space..." Sonic says, trying to regain some of his hearing. The blue blur reaches over towards the emerald, and grabs it. After doing so, he hands the Chaos Emerald to Tails, who puts in his bag. "Now that we have all the emeralds, beating Eggman should be a breeze!" RD exclaims

Sonic shakes his head in disagreement. "No. If we use the Chaos Emeralds to early, we could risk them separating across Mobius again. Then, if Eggman isn't stopped, we could end up dying. Do you want that?" Sonic asks. "No." RD says. "Good, now lets go!" Sonic exclaims. The heroes exit the passageway, and head deep into Mushroom Hill.
