Chapter 31: 31. Chapter 30

Previous Chapter Next Chapter

Author's Note: I really should stop writing these when my brain is half dead in the middle of the night. When I reread what I have already written and posted, I wonder what the hell I was thinking sometimes.

ShotgunFrenzy27: I did add her to the pairing because of reasons to be reveled at a later time.

Also, here are the current results of the poll:

Twilight: 10

Pinkie: 8

The poll will be closed on 9/20, so get your vote in. Depending on who he gets paired with will decide more than just a romantic interest, it will decide history itself.

Chapter 30: Anagram

After the fight the surrounding dragons dispersed, leaving me with the dragons from the volcanic crater. Kalurth was looking at me oddly… why do I feel like I know that look?

"You are an odd one," The large dragon rumbled, and I turned to look at him. "For someone who preached of death, you certainly don't follow it." He said with an amused look.

I couldn't help but smile at his observation, I like being the little oddball I am.

"You are not the first one to of said that to be Dragonlord," I claimed, calling the dragon his ranking since I still didn't know his name. Calling him that just seemed to increase his amusement. "But I have come to accept all that I am, and care little for what others think."

"That is the right way to live Pahkriivah, never back down and always show ones might!" The Dragonlord agreed. Pahkriivah? I am not sure if that is an insult or a complement. I look around and see that the surrounding dragons straighten up at what he called me. Well none of them seem to be glaring at me now. "Now back to your reason for coming here," He looked down at me.

I straightened at that. I nearly forgot why I was here somewhere in the middle of messing with Kalurth.

"Yes Dragonlord," I spoke respectively. "I was asked to come to your kingdom to find the reason for the recent attacks, but from your words, it was a pony that caused this threat." Kalurth and some of the other dragons growled with I spoke of the pony. "What wrong did the pony bring upon you and your race?"

"A foolish pony came into our land and did something unspeakable, even among our own race!" The Dragonlord bellow, the look of amusement gone from his face and replaced by a snarl. "It had managed to sneak into our nesting grounds, and destroyed a noble dragon's egg!" His eyes seemed to dart towards Kalurth for a second. That is why she was so violent towards me! She had her… children… killed…

How dare a pony do that! To take the life of a child!? My vision begins to go red with rage at the what that pony, no that thing did. It has no right to be classified at one of ponies anymore.

"Pahkriivah?" I hear the Rylarth, causing me to snap out of my rage induced state. "Are you alright? You are, bubbling?" I look down at my body, and see that my form was indeed bubbling.

I quickly stopped the bubbling and turn my head to meet Kalurth's eyes, causing her to take a step back from my green eyes.

"Who was the vile Egg-Smasher?" I growled, barley keeping myself from bubbling again.

"We know not his name, Pahkriivah," Rylarth continued speaking. "But the pony was a male earth pony, one with a vanilla like coat. Pahkriivah! You're bubbling again!" He shouted, but I stopped caring.

That pony! He came to us for help! That makes no sense! Acrid Misdo did this! Misdo…

"Gah, I am such an idiot!" I shouted, causing the dragons to look at me oddly. Misdo! It was in his name! Misdo is just another word for acting wrongly! His very name should of given him away!

I turn back to face the Dragonlord.

"I know who you did this," I said, my face revealing my anger. "He is the same damnable pony who sent me here! He was playing us all!" I turn away from the dragons to hunt him down.

"Wait Pahkriivah," Kalurth spoke up. "Why do you care that he killed a dragon? It is our burden to deal with!" She declared.

I turn my head at her, casting a glare.

"I care not of the race, the blood of a child has been spilt, and that is something even my kind hates," I told her, ignoring the other dragons around us. "And it is not just your burden. It was a pony that did it, so he will be dealt by a pony. But I can promise you this Kalurth; death will be a mercy for him."

I flew away from the dragons faster than they could ever go, and went to the town. I need to know who is the Acrid.

I land in the town not even 15 minutes later, but the town was empty. I couldn't hear any noise from the ponies, or even the sound of the wind. It was unnerving.

I walked through the street to the Inn, what I saw inside was an odd sight. The patrons were still all within the inn, but they looked off.

Their colors… they were gone! The ponies were all black and white! What was going on here!

I turn to talk the Redheart, but he was the same. He didn't seem have the same depressed attitude of the ponies from when I first arrived.

"Redheart!" I called out, but he didn't react. I got up in his face, and saw that his eyes were glazed over without a care in the world. "Damnit."

I left the building, but only made it 5 feet before something T-boned me, and I fell on the ground from the surprised attack. I recovered quickly, and got up to face who ever hit me, only to see a familiar face on the ground holding her head from hitting me.

"Derpy?" I asked confused, and was almost knocked over by another familiar pony. "Doctor?"

"Ah hello Chrome, good to see you," The Doctor said with a strained smile. "Actually not that good, there is just a tiny bit of trouble going on."

"Oh god, what is it now Doctor," I asked. Things have been getting really messy right now. "Daleks, Cyberponies? Did The Master get here too? What is it Doctor?"

"Oh no, it is none of that, thankfully," The Doctor said, trying to calm me down. "It is just that somepony is using an old call card to get your attention. And I don't know how they have this information."

"Doctor, start making sense, or I will just fly off," I warned him, I had to get that damn pony. The Doctor didn't speak any more, but just pointed to the window on the other side of the street.

I looked over and our reflections off of it, and the bar's reflection as well. What was… Dab Flow flipped was Wolf Bad. Bad Wolf…

"Oh for the love of all that is good in the universe, who but us would even know that!" I shouted at him. I mean, that was Rose's thing.

"Yes, at first I thought that this was Rose's message to me again, but these haven't been appearing across time, only around you like—"

"Bad Wolf Bay!" I said realizing the name of water route to how I got here.

"Exactly," The Doctor agreed, rather solemnly. This must be bringing back some awful memories for him. "I have followed the source of these, and some other places, and found them all belonging, or named by a certain pony."

"Acrid Misdo," I guessed, and really hoped I was wrong, the Doctor gave me a nod and dashed that hope. So I got someone stalking me now, and have information on me, the Doctor or both. "I was on my way to meet with this Acrid when you stopped me." I said and flared my wings to leave

"Wait, there is something you need to know!" The Doctor said, getting me to stop. "It's an anagram. Acrid Misdo, it isn't his real name. The letters, it spells 'I am Discord'. You are about to face the God of Chaos." He warned me.

Discord, that name again. The storied about him, that very book he wrote. It was about him and humans, and about he's obsession with the Spirit of Harmony. Spirit of Harmony…

My eye started twitching. Everything has been looking me right in the face and I never figured any of it out! Spirit; me. Human; either me or Stone. Discord knows something, and it is big.

I flew away from Doctor, and Derpy, and back home.

I am not facing a pony anymore. I am facing someone who is a threat to everyone, to the ponies, my friends, to my daughters!

I flew hard, and I flew fast. I never stopped for anything, I had to get home. For the second time in my life, I created a Sonic Boom.

(2 Days Later)

When I finally reached the city, I couldn't understand what I was truly seeing.

The city was still there, but there were building floating around in the air, still attached to its rocky foundation. The land was wonky, and checkerboard patterned of pinks and blues. The sky was a mint green, with pink clouds raining down some brown liquid.

"Curiouser and curiouser," I said to myself, feeling like Alice right now. I quickly shook those thoughts from my head, and flew into the city. I fully expected to see dark colored ponies here like before, but those ponies down there, they were grey, but in the same way.

I touched down on the ground, and looked around me. Statues, hundreds of pony statues were all out on the street. They all looked as if they were running away from something, or someone. I looked around me, to see if there were any familiar faces, and there was.

Puddinghead, he was frozen in place in his odd half gallop half skip. But you could still tell he was trying to get away.

I walked passed my friend, and continued to where the ponies were running from. I walked between the statues, and continued by path to the center. I felt somewhat relieved that I didn't see Celia or Star in the faces I passed, but it also caused me to worry even more of their condition.

When I finally escaped the crowd of statue, I saw it.

On a throne that looked like an overturn pendulum blade, sat a serpent like creature or distorted feature. It was something that I have seen before, in the caves long ago.

"Stone," I said surprised. It was my own creation. He did this! My heart felt heavy with guilt, it was my fault this happened then.

"Ah, I was wondering what was taking you so longer Father," Ston—Discord said, swirling a glass of whatever was falling from the sky in some places. "So how do you like what I have done to the place?"

"Discord," I said his new name, it felt bitter. "Why have you done this?"

"Oh, that was easy," He spoke happily of his actions. "All I did was declare myself their king, and they tried to ran away, screaming things like "monster" and other such things. So I just froze them in a quick and painless manner." I eyed the statues, feeling dread for what had happened to these ponies. "Oh don't worry, they aren't dead." He told me. "They are just frozen until they accept my rule," He said with a smile.

"Discord, what do you think that this will accomplish? You can't force people to just follow you." I told him, disgusted by his methods, but glad they were still ok. "And what about the dragons? Why did you kill their child?"

"Oh please, those rubies for brain brutes were easy to trick," He spoke, and with a swirl of his hand revealed a purple dragon egg. "Why smash an egg, when taking it is so much more valuable, and a good bargaining chip. I just smashed some chicken eggs and the dragons just started freaking out."

He was planning as using the egg as a hostage!?

"And what of my daughters?" I asked, glaring at this thing that I had created.

"Oh, don't worry; they are safe, for now." Discord gave me a cold grin. "And they will remain safe, as long as you are mine."

"What? What do you mean by that Discord?" I asked, worried for the girls.

"I know where they are, and can easily catch them, and make them a statue as well," Discord spoke, as if he had already won. "So they will remain free, as long as you are not."

I resigned myself to this, I can't risk them getting hurt. And it will work out in the end, with him turned into a statue like his victims. Thank you history books.

"Very well Discord, I will stay," I told him, hating that smile on his face. "But how did you know about Bad Wolf?" I asked. Discord seemed to ponder over weather telling me or not.

"Well, I had found a rather interesting book when I was at your house last time. A special red book," He said, enjoying the look of shock on my face. "It told me about how you would be drawn in by the word, and it did!" He laughed.

I had helped him? But wait, that word only brought me here faster. Am I playing with Discord now?

I suppressed a smile from that thought, and continued to look resigned.

Discord snapped his fingers and a walls rose around me, and encased me an a cage, with only a 10in by 4in hole in front of it to let light in, and to see out of. I could feel the cage begin to sway around; it felt like Discord was moving me with his magic.

"Arrivederci," Discord said happily, as his magic teleported me away.

Teleporting in a box is hell. I couldn't tell what way was up or down as I tumbled around in the box for who knows how long, or how far. When the box finally hit the ground it really stated to spin out of control, as it skipped across where ever I landed.

Once the box stopped moving, I looked through the hole, revealing the place where I was trapped. I looked around and found myself on a large stone monolith, with two jagged rocks poking from either side. There were numerous other pillars like the one I was placed on, and path way to each. But other than the rocks, there was nothing else here. No ponies, no vegetation. I looked up, and couldn't even see the sky.

I know where I am, but I have only read about it before.

Tartarus.
