I have been asked if Shadow would be paired up with anyone, but he won't until the sequel. It is sort of the main theme around it as it will be mostly focused on the lives of both Sonic, and Shadow… By the way I am planning to do a Halloween special! It will be posted exactly on Halloween! Chapter 9

I sat across from Twilight in the small restaurant. Nothing fancy, simply a local establishment. We both picked at salads in front of us. Usually I would have ordered something else but this restaurant was all pony run so there wasn't any meat. I looked up as a pony came with our main course, which was a mixture of fresh fruit and vegetables. The waiter came back and had a tray of fruit, he started cutting it up and placing it on our main course. "My apologies. We had missed something from this dish… Passion fruit." He told us. I smiled at the irony, he picked up our mostly eaten salads and walked off. "You know I don't think I've ever seen this place…" I commented. Twilight looked up and said "It's not a big time restaurant. Just a small locally run place."

It was about fifteen minutes later when the Waiter returned and took the empty tray, while placing a small cake, it was in the shape of a heart, and it had our names written on it. "Um… Ex-Excuse me… We… We didn't order any…" I said blushing before the Waiter cut me off "Its complements of a small purple dragon." "Spike…!" I muttered to myself. "How… Sweet… of him…" I said aloud. "I think it's romantic, don't you Sonic?" Twilight asked me. I nodded, I did think it was but also a bit embarrassing.

We finished our desert before walking out and I noticed a filly selling flowers, so I walked over and gave her a few Bits. I returned to a confused Twilight with a single red rose. She smiled and took the flower. We walked back into the library to see everyone was there, including the Princesses. "Sonic, Twilight! Thank goodness you've arrived!" Rarity shouted. "Did something happen?" I asked. "Yes! We've spotted a large amount of Eggman's robots massing near the southern wall of Canterlot!" Silver shouted. "You have the most experience fighting him so we waited for you." Luna told me. "Well… Knowing Eggman he probably has some sort of trap set up for me… So let's return the favor." I said before rushing out the door.

-1 Hour Later-

We waited in front of Canterlot, as Eggman's army approached. I smiled and shouted "NOW!" Several ponies charged at the army, while I stood my ground. The robots attacked, but each attack went through the pony, and they continued forward, until they faded out. I held up my hand and shouted "NOW!" Several more ponies charged, with the same outcome. I saw Eggman floating above his army he shouted at me "Stop this Illusionary fighting and come at me!" I smiled before responding "All right." There was the shouting of ponies as they attacked from the rear, catching the robots off guard. The ponies had an advantage which is what kept all of them alive. Several ponies were rushed in injured but no deaths could be seen.

"COWARDS!" Eggman cried out as he had robots bring forward a large wooden crate. "All right Sonic! Fear the Egg Viper 2.0!" The crate was opened and the body of a large robotic snake like creature was revealed. He hitched in and fired it up. At which point I rushed in, remembering that the weak point was the cockpit. It fired several lasers at me, each one narrowly missing. I leapt and kicked the cockpit of the Egg Viper, causing Eggman to be jolted around. It launched two circular disks each one covered in spike and the sides, however there was a spot where I could jump onto, I took the opportunity and gained another hit on Eggman. Then I noticed the setting sun, I grabbed onto my chest, while hunched over in pain. A purple fire like aura surrounded me before I transformed.

I leaped at Eggman grabbing onto the side of the Egg Viper before Shouting "Try to hit me now!" The Egg Viper swerved and turned spastically trying to fling me off. I leapt off and punched the cockpit, causing a crack to form in the glass. "You little wretch!" Eggman shouted at me. I leapt and let off several quick strikes against him before, he ejected from the Egg Viper, and shouted "RETREAT!" The robots took heed of their master's call and fled. "And that is how you beat an Eggman!" I shouted, while the ponies cheered.

Twilight rushed over to me and said "Sonic! You were amazing!" I smiled before replying with "I know, and so was everyone else who helped!" I shouted. We left before I knew it and there was someone I didn't know in the Library. Twilight smiled before saying "Sonic, there's someone who I'd like you to meet. This is my brother, Shining Armor." "Twilight… This is Sonic?" He asked suspiciously. "He doesn't look how you described him at all…" I sighed before saying "It's a long story so I'll give you the short version. I was cursed so every time night falls I look like this, during the day I look WAY different."

"A curse? Have you tried asking that odd Zebra who lives in the Everfree forest?" Shining Armor asked me. "Odd Zebra?" "Oh, he must mean Zecora! That's a good idea! She might be able to help." Twilight said excitedly. "She lives in the Everfree Forest?" I asked. "Yeah… Why you scared?" Shining Armor asked me. "Scared?! Well… Not for me… But for Twilight… I'm sure she can handle herself, and especially while I'm with her, but if she did get hurt I'm not sure what I'd do." I answered.

"You know, you've got a good head on your shoulders…" Shining Armor said to me. "I'm sure you'll both be fine." He said before walking out, leaving me and Twilight alone. "We'll go and see her in the morning, good night Sonic." Twilight said to me. "Good Night." I replied before going into my room and lying down.

Sonic looked into the room, it was dark but he could make out a single shape. The figure rushed at him before shouting "Daddy!" Sonic held his daughter, the small light purple filly looked up at him her eyes shining, and her blue hair had been brushed down. "All right Speedy. Time for bed." Sonic told his daughter, she quickly rushed over to her bed. She watched as her father thumbed through several story books on a shelf, he decided on one and grabbed it. "Daddy?"

Sonic turned to face his daughter, and with a soft voice asked "What it is Speedy?" She shuffled in bed for a moment before cautiously asking "Can you tell me one of your stories tonight?" Sonic smiled before sitting on the edge of the bed and asking "Well which one do you want to hear?" She pondered this for a moment before saying "The one how you met Mommy." Sonic was taken back, she had often asked for his specific stories, but this one was a first. "I'm sorry but how about a different story. I'll tell you that one on your birthday." Sonic tried to reason. "Oh… All right… Wait… Tomorrow's my birthday!" She happily yelled. Sonic chuckled before saying "That's right. So what story do you want to hear?" "The one where you fought that big blue monster!" Sonic took a deep breath as he told the started to let the details flow through his mind.
