In this chapter I decided to speed up the romance! I was planning on bringing this in later but I thought of a better ending that requires them to start now! After much thought I will be making a sequel that does accept OC's but not until I finish all 30 chapters of this story! It will focus on Shadow having been… Oops! I almost told you the plot 3! Chapter 8

I glanced up from the book I was reading when I heard the door to the Library open. I saw a pony with a brownish tan coat a darker mane and tail with light violet eyes, her cutie mark was a pink Treble Cleft. I had seen her around town but never had an opportunity to speak with her… Not that I was interested in her or anything, she just seemed to be the kind of pony you could have a nice conversation with.

"Can I help you?" I asked her. "Um… Yes… I was expecting a book of music to come in today." She replied. I moved through the many shelves of books until I found one with a note stuck on it that read "Reserved for Octavia". "You Octavia?" I asked her. She nodded before I pulled the book off the shelf and checked it out. "Are you new around town?" She asked me. I smiled before replying "Fairly new. I'm actually staying in the library for the time being…" "So I take it you know Twilight?" She asked me. "Yeah, I actually volunteered to help her out around here… Didn't want to seem like dead weight you know?" I answered before handing her the book.

"It's due in about three weeks." I told her before asking "So what do you do for a living?" "Well… I'm a musician…" She replied, before asking "So where are you from? You obviously aren't from here." I laughed before saying "You got that right! I'm not even really sure how I got here… I just woke up in a forest and several guards surrounded me. I was being accused of a crime I didn't even commit! Everything worked out though… I'm Sonic by the way."

Octavia smiled before saying "Well, I should get going…" "Oh! Sorry if I kept you from something important." I said before she left. I sat back down and picked up the book again. The door opened again revealing Twilight, and the Elements. "Hey Sonic. How's your book?" Twilight asked me. "It's good for the five pages I read so far… I just can't get into it… Something's bugging me…" I replied.

"What would that be?" Rarity asked. "When Spike, Knuckles, Rainbow Dash, and I rescued Twilight and Fluttershy, there was this Badnik… It was in horrible condition… It had taken a beating… Bite marks, claw marks, and things I couldn't figure out too…" I replied before setting down the book. "I'm sure a pony couldn't do any of that… So what's bugging me is…" I started before Twilight finished the sentence "What did do it…" Her voice was serious and cold. "It's been three weeks since then and Eggman hasn't attacked once… He's planning something… I can tell you that much…" I said. "I need to go take a walk and think about this… Oh, and Twilight? Octavia came by to pick up her book. I got it checked out and everything." I said before walking out the Library.

I walked down the stone roads, before looking in a store it was an instrument store, inside I saw Silver sitting at a piano. I walked in and he didn't notice me. I saw him take a deep breath before singing.

He sat there for a moment before I did what I thought would be most respectful… I clapped. He looked up startled, and asked "Sonic!? When… When did you come in!?" "I saw you here and thought we could have a chat, until you started playing…" I said before someone interrupted. "That was a beautiful song Silver…" We saw Rarity standing there, her tears streaming down her face. "Oh… I didn't even write it… I just love the song is all…" Silver said grabbing a white cloth and wiping tears away from Rarity's eyes. "Oh, but you sang it so well! It was full of passion and…" She started before their eyes met. "Love…" She finished. "Would… That is if you don't have other plans… Would you like to… Perhaps… Play a little more for me…?" She asked him. Silver blushed before saying "O-of course! I know many songs, of many different genres." I smiled before leaving the building.

I looked down the path and saw Twilight, she was alone reading a book. "This is your chance Sonic. Don't blow it." I thought to myself before walking over. She looked up at me and smiled before asking "Hey Sonic, what's up?" I felt my hands clam up as I prepared to ask her something. "Uh… Twilight… I was wondering … If you're not going to be busy! Would you like to grab a bite to eat?" She looked like she was pondering it, before smiling and saying "Sure! When do you want to go?"

I was shocked, she actually accepted! I was so happy I could almost leap for joy. "Um… How about later? We could meet up for lunch." I said, she nodded and said "I'll see you there…" I walked into the library and saw Spike standing there smiling. "What?" I asked him. "You did it…" He half spoke half sang. "Did what?" I asked. "You finally asked her out!" Spike shouted. "WHAT!? No, no, no, no, no! It's not a date! We're just going out for lunch is all!" I said hysterically. "Sonic, can't you see she likes you too? It's pretty obvious!" Spike said. "Look, it's not a date we're just going out for lunch." I said before walking into the guest room. I sat on the bed and thought "Is it a date? Well I can't ask her, that can I? I don't know! I've never felt like this before…" I lied down and closed my eyes.

I opened them when I heard the door open, Twilight walked in and she asked "You ready to go?" I shot up and checked the clock. Had I fallen asleep? "Uh… Sure! I have one question though… Is this… A… Date…?" I asked nervously, she blushed and said "Well… I was about to ask you the same thing…" "Well… If you want it to be…" I replied. Her eyes shot to life, as if fireworks had gone off in her skull. "Really?! Well… Okay…" She said, before I got up and walked her into town.
