Previous Chapter Next ChapterHey Guys!
Here it is. The penultimate chapter. Or the third to last, I'm not sure XD
So, I know I haven't updated for a while, so here is an extra long chapter for ya!
Clover trotted around the room, thinking.
She had been at it for hours, trying to think of ways of not having to face Malice in Canterlot, but to no avail. The best that she could think of was leading him away, but from the stories of destruction and possessions, Clover doubted that the creature would leave the innocent ponies of Canterlot alone.
She was also worried about Fellfall. No doubt he will have realised what has happened by now, however that didn't mean he wouldn't try and come after her. Clover missed him.
Bu it was not just loneliness that filled Clover, but doubt. From what she had been told by the Princes and Princesses, she would be the one to bring the end to Malice, the creature that possessed Princess Luna, Discord, Tirek, Sombra, the changelings and many others. If they couldn't completely destroy him, who could?
Clover sighed and sat by the window again, but she only saw the ponies that would become enslaved in a matter of days. Clover spotted a large field by Canterlot, where the celebrations were being set up. Where they would watch the sun rise for the last time.
Clover heard another set of hooves comming from down the corridor. Clover listened as she heard the door open and a voice said
"It is time Clover," Came a soft voice
It was unmistakeable. The Princess Twilight had decided to pay her a visit. How sweet.
Clover did not respond
"Well, Cadence told me you were uncooperative. Here, you must wear these tomorrow," She heard the chick of metal on the floor, and the regal hooves walking away.
When Clover was sure she was gone, she turned around and looked at the items that the Princess had left.
There were a full set of short silver hoof shoes and silver tiara, with a small emerald encased at the centre. Clover scoffed and went and sat again by her window, pondering what was yet to come.
It was now, ironically, twilight. Clover stood and watched Luna's moon rise before going to the bed embroided with the sun's emblem and prepared to go to sleep. Tomorrow, her life would change, for better or worse was unclear, but it would undoubtedly, change.
It was dusk as Fellfall flew through the sky. He had found out from Clovers brother that she had been found flying through the night, before knocking herself out due to altitude. The sun celebration was tomorrow, and he didn't have much time.
Fellfall didn't know what he would do, but he knew just being there for Clover at this point was the best thing he could do. As Luna's moon rose, the temperature plummeted. He felt his wings starting to numb, and small amounts of ice crystals on his hooves. Sun rise was roughly 4 hours away, so Fellfall descended to a warmer climate.
Fellfall already missed Clover. He missed her sarcasm, her jokes, but most of all her. When he had found that Clover was not in her cloud hut, his heart had plummeted. He already knew what had happened, but he still had to check.
And so, Fellfall had left for Canterlot. He had roughly 80 miles to go, so he quickly sped up to 9.3 wing power and charged through the night.
Clover was quickly awakened by her mother. It was still dark, and she could see vague pony figures heading out to field where the celebration took place.
Clover sighed and slipped on the silver shoes and tiara begrudgingly at her mother's whim, and when she opened the door, a patrol of guards surrounded her. Eventually, they reached the darkened courtyard, where a chariot, literally, awaited her.
Clover clambered in with the guard following her closely. It was hard to see without and light and she doubted the guards new who she was. Oh good.
Clover waited patiently as the chariot rose and then descended behind a large tent, located behind the stage.
Clover was pushed eagerly into the tent were the two Princess's stood.
Clover sat heavily in an armchair and tried to go back to sleep, but it was too late. The princesses glided towards her, and said
"Clover, I hope that you will find today enjoyable, but you will not be required to speak to the ponies of Equestria, however we hope you could put on a smile," Cadence said happily
Outside a large gong was heard and the general chatter outside became silent. The two Alicorns nodded to her before saying
"Exit the curtain once we announce you. Good Luck," Princess Twilight said quickly before the two of them left to the raucous hoofplause of the ponies outside
"I'll need it," Clover muttered
It was almost sunrise; Fellfall had flown through the icy night to see Canterlot on the horizon. However, looking over the powerful city, it was deserted. Peering around the city he spotted a large field to the west of Canterlot, where a large gong could be heard ringing out.
In the field lay chattering ponies, waiting for the bringing of summer. He quickly spotted the two princesses glide out of the tent to the roar of approval of the ponies of Canterlot. Fellfall dived towards the field, but it would be a few minutes before he could get there.
Clover could hear the ponies outside quieten as the two Princesses addressed them.
"Citizens of Equestria! Today we welcome a new summer!" Princes Cadence began
The crowd cheered happily as Princess Twilight began
"This day brings new light, more plentiful times, and happiness to all in our fair land!" She declared
The two Alicorns turned away from the crowd, their horns beginning to light up when a rumble rocketed through the ground. The crowd gasped and stumbled back in horror at what they could see in the distance.
Clover poked her head out of the tent, to see what could only be described as Malice.
Fellfall swooped down to the field; he had not yet landed but suddenly a tremor ricocheted through the ground. Even the very air shook in fear.
Fellfall looked around; he was still high above the crowd and saw a terrifying creature.
The monsters skin was dark as night, and tendrils of jet black seemed to emanate from its very body. It seemed to be constantly changing, morphing to more terrifying shapes than the last. On what seemed to be its face was two red eyes, with streams of green, purple and black emanating from it. Its mouth was formed into a large, sharp toothed grin, whilst on its head was a pair of long, grey horns.
It grinned at the crowd, and raised a fist, and a solid dark blue fog to its back.
Fellfall stared in horror as the Princesses flew into the air to tackle the beast.
Clover saw as the Princesses charged at the beast, their horns glowing with raw magic which they released directly at his chest. The creature laughed, and said in a voice that made Clovers whole being crawl.
"Did you believe that a light show would stop me?" He chuckled in a deadly voice
The princesses snarled, but were knocked sideways out of the air and into the ground, leaving groove in the dirt.
Clover could take no more. She rushed out of the tent, quelling the fear and doubt inside her heart, and launched into the air in front of the shocked crowd.
She flew as fast as she could towards the creature. She knew not what she would do, but Clover knew she would not be killed in a tent, cowering.
Malice turned with a look of amusement towards Clover.
"Why, after the two most powerful beings in Equestria have just fallen, to what will soon be there demise, why would you be hear little one?" He sneered
Clover growled slightly
Malice sighed expectantly
"So be it," He grinned, raising a fist, swinging it at Clover, when a cry echoed through her head
"NOOO!" A voice cried as a blue blur shoved Clover out of the way in time, before being sent flying to the ground.
The voice was unmistakeable, the blur, her saviour was Fellfall.
"FELLFALL!" Clover shouted as he landed on the ground, Clover chasing after as a booming chuckle echoed from Malice's ever changing chest.
Fellfall watched as the Princesses fell in shock, but not as much when he saw Clover galloping out of the tent and into the air. He watched as the crowd gasped and pointed at her. Fellfall just watched as the events unfolded.
As Fellfall heard the creature speak, he was awoke from his frozen slumber, and flew as fast as he could over the petrified crowd.
He heard Clover growl and before he knew what was happening, a fist was directed at Clover, whizzing through the air. He cried out, and flew directly into Clover, pushing her out of the way in time before he was sent spiralling towards the ground.
He heard his name being called out up above as he crashed into the hard ground, blackness enveloping him.
Clover landed with a thud and ran up to Fellfall, dust clearing from the impact.
His body had a developing bruise on his right side, and the dust from the ground had settled on his body.
Clover sat next to him, and a tear dribbled down her cheek and landed on Fellfalls chest, which was know breathing raggedy breathes. Clover called out his name between a sob, shaking him gently. He was out cold, blood trickling from the side of his head.
Clovers horn lit up as she healed his wounds, wiping her face she stood up and faced Malice's eyes.
"How quaint. At least he'll be able to breathe when he dies," he chuckled "or maybe I'll choke him, who knows?" He laughed again, as Malice waved a tendril, and the darkened mass of fog behind him, enveloped her.
Images flitted through the fog around her, before seeing creatures of evil march towards her.
Clover quivered as a spectral alicorn dark as the night with teeth as sharp as diamonds march towards her, her moon cutie mark flashing for all to see. Next to her, a ghostly image of a draconis grinned gauntly at her. As well as this, there was a large maroon centaur, grey unicorn with a sharp curved horn, ended with blood red, and grey, green and red smoke emanating from his eyes. A large female changeling stood cackling to their left, as well as diamond dogs, timber wolves, hydras and many more.
A voice boomed from the darkness
"Do you see them? They could not save themselves from me, what makes you think that you can!" Malice's voice faded away before coming stronger stating
"Even your teachers couldn't protect themselves!" It shouted in her ears, which Clover flattened against her head, as two alicorns glided from the shadows, darkness permitting there being.
Clover sat in despair as they surrounded her, laughed at her. Clover felt like giving up was her only choice; perhaps Malice would help her if she gave up Equestr-
"NO!" Clover shouted, magic filling her horn the light banishing the shadowy figures, to show her once again Malice, and thankfully Fellfall.
Malice looked slightly surprised.
"Very well," He whispered, his eyes manic with playful glee.
Malice sent down a tendril towards her, which Clover sliced with a beam of magic.
Malice cried out as the darkness evaporated, and snarled at Clover
"I suppose I underestimated you. I will not make the same mistake twice," He said through gritted teeth.
Clover stepped back slightly. She felt it.
Magic flowed through her body, from her mane to her hooves, magic flowed to one concentrated point, gathering to one glowing red hot point that filled the maintained the elongated darkness.
She was no longer Clover Night.
Clover opened her eyes as light spilled from the, and a voice that was not her own said as she floated into the air without aid of her wings said
"Leave hear Malice and never return," Said many voices as one
Malice reeled at the light, and said wildly
"What are you!?" He screeched
"Your end," The voices said hauntingly
Clover's horn let out a blinding light as the crowd watched in awe at the spectacle.
The Sun and the Moon together raised in the sky, until the merging together, light spilling from them. The orbs started to twist gently as it split into two tendrils of flame and navy darkness, which intertwined themselves.
Malice screamed in pain at the sight, his body contorting.
Suddenly, a spectral image of a sword passed through the spectacle, and light flowed down to one point in the ground.
Clover walked up to the 4 alicorns that stood, horns glowing around the screaming Malice. Clover nodded to each of them, and together their horns lit up, and a brilliant sea of rainbow engulfed him, and in one swift movement, they each swung their heads and Malice screeched in pain as he was thrown towards the strange symbol in the sky which enveloped him and vanished.
As the light from Clovers eyes faded, she felt like sleep was about to carry her away, but not before she spotted hundreds of ponies flit over her vision, as she fell to an unwilling slumber next to Fellfall.
AHH! :D
