Hey Guys!

So yeah, I did abandon this story a tad, but I WILL FINISH IT!

But yeah, this will be a bit short, but at least it's something!

When Clover awoke, she was alone. There wasn't a pony in sight. Clover crawled out of the bed and stumbled when her hoof hit the ground. Ground?

Clover blinked as she tried to remember what happened, when it came flooding back. She wasn't in Cloudsdale anymore...

Clover nervously trotted to the window. Outside, she could make out banners and signs being put up, guards training in a courtyard. She was back in Canterlot. Clover tapped the glass with a hoof, only to be bounced lightly of the surface. Every now and again, the glass flashed a light lilac light.

"Figures," She grumbled

The Princess obviously wouldn't let her get away.

It was only now that Clover had noticed her surroundings. The room was large and lavish, he bed a large circle mattress, emblazed with a sun.

"I swear I've seen this before," Clover mused as she looked at the sun

It was then she heard hoof beats coming from outside the room. Clover scurried under the covers, pretending to be asleep.

Her door creaked open, as a set of hooves gently moved over the floor. Clover didn't risk a peek, but she had an idea of who it was.

"I know your awake Clover," Came a motherly tone

Clover refused to sit up, if she was going to act she might as well be convincing. The voice sighed, and Clover felt herself being lifted into a sitting position.

Princess Cadence sat down next to her as Clover looked blankly at her.

They sat in silence for a few minutes

"You had us worried," The Princess stated

Silence

The Princess tried again

"That letter you sent," She started

Clover almost cringed

"I'm afraid that your wishes may have to be put after the good of Equestria. Clover, you must be seen! An unaffiliated alicorn in Equestria could be seen as invasion, if something were to happen to me and the other Princess, you would be the only alicorn left to rule. Imagine the issues you would have Clover! People would be against you every step of the way, even if it is for their own good. Ponies are stubborn like that," She finished

Clover remained stubbornly silent

Cadence sat up straight and said in a strong voice

"It has already been decided, this is what you must do Clover. You are the only trained pony fit to rule." She turned around and marched out off the room

Clover growled and stood up.

" 'My own wishes before the good of Equestria' Pah! I'm the one trying to save it" She exclaimed to herself

Clover sighed; her anger expelled, and went to sit by the window. She watched as the happy ponies of Canterlot prepared for the Summer Sun Celebration. She thought and thought on all that had happened, but her dream, no not a dream, but what the royal ponies had told her. She could not do anything now. All she could do is waiting.

"And make sure no pony gets hurt," She pledged

Eventually, the best she could come up with was either to run away, which was unlikely, or let things unfold. Clover liked neither option.

Malice was coming, and Clover was the only pony that could stop it. She was all alone, and no pony new it, not even Fellfall. Clover slumped on the window sill as she imagined how he would feel right now. Shocked, saddened, and scared. Clover felt guilty, she imagined his tussled mane slumped over his face, his usually bright, and handsome- what?

Clover shook herself, and started to stare out the window. All she could do was wait.

She spotted a group of about 20 fillies and colts split of into 3's and gallop of around the city. Clover smiled, since the rule of Celestia there had been cutie mark crusaders. Clover continued to watch each little group, until she got attached to one particular group.

Along the day, she saw two ponies from the 20 jump in the air excitedly, but the group Clover was watching were not doing any activities, but just trotting through the streets. Eventually they got to a main road. Carts whizzed by at lightning speed, no place for little fillies.

It was then one of the fillies sprinted forward, and dragged something Clover couldn't see back. It was one of the newest gainers of their cutie marks. The filly had just saved the others life.

Clover waited with eager anticipation, hoping that the brave filly would jump in the air, but no. The fillies just continued on their rounds. Slowly, Clover noticed a pattern; they went to were there seemed to be trouble, each time a different filly saving another.

Clover wondered what in Equestria they could be doing when all three of the at once smiled and jumped ecstatically in the air. It was only then did she realise what these ponies were doing.

These fillies new full well what their talent was, but they all wanted to get it at the same time. Clover smiled. She hoped they went far.

But Clover was brought back down to earth when a guard walked in with a tray levitated above him, a note on the side. In the tray was some food, the note read

The Summer Sun Celebration will be in 2 days.

Be prepared

Clover grinded her teeth. At least she would be busy.

So what'd think?

Don't forget to R&R!
