Chapter 14: No Place in this World

Location: Three Hundred Miles above Equestria

Time: Three Weeks post Arrival

A massive black scaled form could be seen flying above the land, soaring through the dark void of space. The creature stopped in a hover, it looked down and when it spotted its target, it started a fast descent down toward the ground. The scales started glowing red from reentry, a trail of flame being left behind, yet the creature was not in the least fazed by the deadly heat, it had a job to do and it would see to it that it would be done.

Location: Equestria, Canterlot, Equestria Space Defender Headquarters

Time: At the same time

The Equestria Space Defenders or EDS, despite the catchy and heroic sounding name, were no more than a team of scientists that spotted incoming objects from space. In most cases the object would burn in the atmosphere, in other cases they would have to destroy the objects using magic and in rarer cases they would just reduce the object to a less dangerous size. Today however was different, the room was bustling with unicorns, pegasi and earth ponies each doing various tasks around a room filled with magically powered computers.

Asteroid Belt: How in Celestia's name could you miss that one? We're supposed to be tracking any meteorites, asteroid and comets that come near the planet, what do you get paid for.

Asteroid Belt was a sand brown unicorn with a dark brown mane and a Cutie Mark of an asteroid. Normally he was kind and quiet, but when the job was badly done he could become a real jerk and a loudmouth.

Pegasi ESD: Sir, the object appeared on our screens just a few minutes ago, we started tracking it at around the altitude of three hundred miles. There's no way that thing came from space.

Asteroid Belt: What are you implying?

Princess Celestia: What seems to be the problem Asteroid Belt?

Everypony turned to the entrance into the facility and noticed the regal white alicorn, they all bowed.

Asteroid Belt: Princess, our scanners picked up an object heading toward Equestria.

Princess Celestia: Is there a problem with that?

Asteroid Belt: There is. We started tracking it at the altitude of three hundred miles, there is no way it could have appeared from thin air, just like that.

Princess Celestia: Where will it fall?

All the ponies started calculating the falling location and after a few seconds, the map moved towards a secluded location in Equestria – Bronypaloosa.

Princess Celestia: *gasp* That's where the girls are headed to. Asteroid Belt, are there any teams in the immediate area?

Asteroid Belt: No your majesty, the closest team is around fifty miles from that location. I will send them the message.

Princess Celestia: Please do. *thinking* By the sun Twilight, why didn't you take Spike with you?

All over Equestria everypony could see the object falling from the sky. Fillies and colts made wishes believing it to be a shooting star, some adults were watching it in amazement, others were screaming that it's the end of the world and ran for cover. Everypony except a certain seven.

Location: Equestria, Thirty Miles from Bronypaloosa

Time: Around the same time

A carriage flown by two guard pegasi, was carrying six mares and a Reaper towards the small secluded town named Bronypaloosa. Pinkie was running around the carriage much to the chagrin of the guard pegasi, Twilight was reading a book, Rarity was talking with Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash was sitting excited, Applejack was leaning against the window with a bored expression and Harbinger was sitting with a blank facial expression.

Applejack: Ya know they could've at least cleared the sky fer our visit.

Twilight: It's cultivation season in that town, they can't just leave the crops without water just for our visit.

Applejack: Tell me again why are we goin' there?

Rainbow Dash: The Princess wanted us to 'tend to the crowd' or something, as punishment for trying to steal the book. She said that in that town we're extremely popular and asked her if we could come to visit, a lot of times. *excited* Everypony is gonna' see just how awesome I am… I mean we are.

Pegasus Guard: We're almost there, you can see the town from here.

Everypony looked outside. It was a small town, about as big as Appleloosa, but instead of being in the desert it was in the middle of a large green plain. A small forest could be seen in the distance, as well as a wheat farm at the edge of the town.

Rarity: My word, it looks a lot better than I imagined. It seems that wheat is their primary source of food.

Everypony noticed Harbinger hadn't said a word and was just staring blankly into the distance.

Applejack: Uh, Ha'binger, sugarcube, something the matter?

Harbinger: It's in the air, something bad is about to happen, something very bad.

Everypony stared at him weirdly then just brushed it off with a shrug. At that moment Pinkie Pie's body started twitching uncontrollably.

Pinkie Pie: Uh-oh, i-i-i-it's gonna b-b-b-be a do-do-doozie.

The twitching stopped just as fast as it started, everypony sighed in relief. A quiet moan could be heard from the distance. Everypony stood up and looked around frantically, they saw nothing. For a moments it was all quiet, they all relaxed until…

GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

A loud roar was heard, causing the guard pegasi's wing to lock in fear sending the carriage falling to the ground. They quickly recovered just before they hit the ground. Fluttershy who had fainted, was waking up and looked at the worried faces of her friends.

Fluttershy: W-what was that?

Applejack: Ah don't know sugarcube, but it sounded like a-

Pinkie Pie: *points up* LOOK! What's that?

Everypony looked up. Their faces changed from confusion, to surprise, then shock and finally horror at what they saw.

From above the veil of clouds, a massive black form was descending. First claws, then body, and finally wings.

Twilight: *horrified* D-D-Dragon!

It was a large pitch black dragon, about twice the size of the dragon they encountered on the mountain. It's entire body was covered in scales and plates, except for the underbelly which was the same as Spike only dark gray. On it's back were numerous spikes that looked like they could stab a manticore right through. The tail was long and ended in a sharp trident. To finish it all off it had glowing red eyes that promised a lot of things, none of which were good.

The dragon started moving towards Bronypaloosa, letting out another ear splitting roar. The villagers started to panic. Spells could be seen flying through the air trying to hit the dragon, pegasi were attacking it all around, the dragon just shrugged all of them off.

Back in the carriage, the Mane 6 who recovered from the shock, stood up and spoke to the guards.

Twilight: We have to get to Bronypaloosa fast. That dragon doesn't look friendly.

The guards nodded and picked up speed. Twilight sighed and turned towards the other ponies. Rainbow Dash was already itching to go and give that dragon a piece of her mind. Flutteshy was whimpering in a corner. Rarity was trying hard not to faint, while Applejack was holding down Rainbow Dash. Pinkie Pie and Harbinger stood on their spots with blank expressions on their faces. This unnerved Twilight a bit, but she spoke up.

Twilight: Girls, I know we just came to this town, but we have to save them. I know that you're scared but –

Rainbow Dash: HA! Me, scared? I'm never scared, we defeated a dragon once and this is gonna be no different. We just have to go there and *emphasizes each word with a punch* KICK. IT'S. BUTT.

Harbinger: I do not know the specifics of how you defeated another dragon, but, underestimating your opponent, no matter how insignificant they may seem to you… is a grave mistake. I learned that the hard way.

Rainbow Dash: Pfft, I don't need to learn anything to tell that we can beat it.

Harbinger: Then you may as well fly right into its mouth.

Rainbow Dash glared at the Reaper for that comment. On the ground it was hell.

Location: Equestria, Bronypaloosa, Town Square

Time: A few minutes earlier

It was a normal day in Bronypaloosa. Unlike most towns in Equestria, this town was filled with ponies, no, not normal ponies, they were humans turned ponies, either by wish or dragged here unwillingly by stray dimensional portals. Most of course knew were they came and were super thrilled that the Mane 6 of the TV show they watched back in their worlds would come to town. One of the ponies, or bronies, named Alex was trotting through town balancing a basket of flowers on his back, which were meant for decorations. He was the de facto leader of the town, since he had the best leadership skills of all bronies and was the most responsible for the arrival of the six mares.

Alex: How's the food going guys?

A mare by the name of Elizabeth answered his question.

Elizabeth: Good, I'm pretty sure even Pinkie Pie would think its super good.

Mark: I still don't get why it was so hard to get them to come. In the fanfics they always make it so the character always lands in Everfree Forest, they get found by the Mane 6 and they become fast friends.

Alex: *sigh* Guess it's a lot harder in reality. *excited* But it doesn't matter, they're coming and nothing is gonna ruin this.

Mark: *looks at horizon* Look, they're coming.

A quiet moan is heard in the distance, all bronies stop doing what they were doing and look around.

Trish: D-did anyo-anypony hear that?

Elizabeth: Maybe it was just the win-

GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

All of the bronies recoiled at the loud roar. They looked around and noticed the massive black dragon approaching them, obviously having bad intentions. Pegasi took the air, unicorns fired spells earth ponies readied whatever weapons they had to fight the dragon. None of the attacks worked, the dragon shrugging them off like balls of paper. After a few seconds of flight it landed in the center of the town. All of the bronies gathered looked at it in fear. Alex was the only one who wasn't scared, because he knew this dragon was no big deal, if the Mane 6 could beat dragons, why couldn't they?

Alex: *bravely* You! Dragon! What are you doing here?

The Dragon: I would ask the same of you humans.

The bronies were surprised at the dragon's statement. Humans were a myth in Equestria. Yet here comes a dragon, claiming that they were humans. The worst part, was that it was right, but they didn't want anyone to find out.

Brony from Crowd: *tries to act convincing* Human? Humans are myths. Didn't you read books or something. Why the hell do you think we are humans?

The Dragon: Ponies don't have the word 'hell' in their vocabulary, they prefer 'hay' or 'Tartarus' tha's one out of three, human.

Another Brony: One out of Three for what?

The Dragon: Proving that you are human.

The crowd glared at that brony.

The Dragon: If you're wondering why I'm here, then I'll tell you. You don't belong here. You have no place in this world. I will remove you from here, by any means possible.

The crowd got angry. A dragon was trying to kill them for a unfounded reason. Well, in reality he had a good reason, yet he had no right to do so.

Crowd Brony: *angry* Who the hay do you think you are to choose where we live? This is as much our world as everypony else's.

Another Crowd Brony: Yeah! We invited the Elements of Harmony into our town, they'll be here any minute and they'll kick your ass.

The Dragon: *pays no attention* Yet another human word. In Equestria the word 'ass' means donkey or mule and isn't used in the context you used it. Two out of three.

The crowd tensed. They weren't aware of what the dragon could do. Yet for some reason it wasn't so scary. This was the MLP:FiM universe, nothing really bad happened. The dragon plopped his belly on the ground and used one arm to support his head. The crowd looked at it confused and annoyed. Not only was it ignoring them, it was also making itself comfortable.

The Dragon: Well, any more human words you wish to say, so I can start working.

The crowd was silent. None dared say a word. Then a cyan and rainbow blow flew right into the dragon's head, momentarily dazing it. It was Rainbow Dash, the crowd cheered, which bolstered the pegasus' already strong confidence. The rest of the Mane 6, Harbinger and the two pegasi guards jumped down from the carriage and stood between the dragon and the crowd, all wearing expressions of resolve. Except Fluttershy who was trembling and Harbinger who was as impassive as always.

The Dragon: Leave this place at once, you have nothing to do with this.

They all stood their ground.

Codex: Apple Bloom

Apple Bloom is an earth pony filly, most known for being part of the Cutie Mark Crusaders, a group formed with her friends Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle, that has the common goal of finding what their special talent is and gain their Cutie Marks. Even though she is young and still not strong enough to buck apples, she has show prowess in other spheres like carpentry, such as when she repaired the clubhouse that became CMC headquarters , which is by many believed to be her special talent. Despite that like her friends she still doesn't acknowledge it as her talent and frequently tries the various plans they come up with to gain their Cutie Mark. Some of those plans can be very dangerous…

Author's Note: #1: It took me a lot of time to post this, mainly because of school, Code G.B. and because my laptop was occupied for a few days. Nevertheless I'm here and I'm back, but I won't post so frequently because of school.

#2: A normal pony is about 1,0-1,1 meters tall. Big Macintosh and Shepard would be somewhere 1.4 meters tall. Harbinger and Luna is 1.6 meters tall. Celestia is 1.8 meters tall and Black is 1.9 meters tall. The dragon in DragonShy and the one in Owl's Well That Ends Well would be 30 meters tall. The End Dragon would be the largest at around 70 meters tall. That's how large he is.

#3: Code G.B. is a side story that centers on Black and will take place for some part during the Ubbsvatgba arc. I think it will be my largest story, although I don't have this many stories anyway.

Fun Fact: It takes forty-two muscles to scowl at someone, yet it takes only four to raise your hand and punch him in the face. Do the math.
