Ch1, The Mane introductions

~Chapter 1, New Day, New Beginnings, New ponies~

The fog lightened up mostly when Ravi reached Ponyville; the sky was grey with a cyan tint to it. He took the time to observe his soundings; Colorful, and simple buildings of many shapes, along with various plants mainly consisting of grass, a range of flowers blooming around in various places, and a diversity of trees.

Yep, it was just an old pony tale, no palace made of gold here. Walking by, he encountered a number ponies of all 3 kinds walking around, happy, colorful, and most with a smile on their face.

Ravi couldn't believe how peaceful the town looked. The whole place seemed like something out of…some cartoon, at least to him. The stallion had a feeling he wasn't going to fit in with such a crowd, but that would be nothing new to him; he just was glad that the atmosphere, though a bit old fashioned, was better than his old 'home.'

Ravi walked around looking for the one in charge of the town, assuming that this place had a leader or something close enough he could talk to. He looked for a map; given his had no specifics for any village in the land Equestria, or at least something to show him around, but didn't find anything on the board nor walls around that told him much anything. Only  semi-interesting thing he found was that the fog around the town was made by the Pegasi and was to fade away soon in the day.

With not much option other then explore, which he decided to do when he was a bit more than a total stranger, he decided to ask the closest pony nearby, which just so happened to be a pink mare with blue eyes and poufy mane and tail that was a slight darker shade of pink happily trotting around.

He couldn't say that he a fan of the color pink, but he decided that discriminating choices just cause of color would be, to say the least unnecessary in a place like this. "Um, excuse me, miss?" The mare stopped at looked at him for a second. "Um, hi, I'm Ravi Starlight, but you can call me by my first name Ravi. I wa-"

"HUUAaUUAA!" Before Ravi could finish, the pink pony jumped into the air and let out a big and excited gasp, startling the Stallion.  Then there was a second of awkward silence as the mare landed slowly, somehow.

"…umm, was that nessesar-"

"Oh colt, you're new to Ponyville!" The mare suddenly burst out to interrupt. "I know, cause I know every pony in Ponyville. Everypony!  That's so cool! Where you come from, how come you look a bit dull, you remind me of the time I first met Twilight! Ohh, it was so cool back then…you see I…Then we made a…with the….pretty in……ink…." Ravi stopped listening and sighed to himself.

Another absent minded loon. He quickly thought to himself. He never listened to these kind of people, they never seemed to have anything important to say. He remembered the annoying conversations other ponies had, where they were talking miles a minute like this pony, about nearly nothing. It bugged him, and didn't know why this pony was so excited over a new pony. After all, he was just a passerby, there was no reason to make a big deal of it, was there? Maybe this place won't be so different...No no, I must remain positive…

"…tria was made!'  Ohu! I know Iknow, you should see them!" That last part he heard as the mare grabbed his hoof with her arm and started to drag him with her.

"Hey hey Wait! Say what now?" He tried to pull his hoof away but she had a shockingly firm grip and probably topple over him before she would lose her grasp on his hoof.

"Weren't you listening?" He wasn't. "My friends! They did all that stuff and are so awesome! I'm Pinkiepie by the way, com'mon this'll be a great way for you to see what's up in Ponyville and everything!" Pinkie stares at Ravi with over excited eyes.

PINKie pie, how creative…  With that attitude and excitement, Ravi knew she wasn't going to take no for an answer. "Sigh, fine, if it'll help me get arou-" He's interrupted again as Pinkie excitedly runs with him; While so Ravi noticed that her Spirit symbol was 3 balloons, probably meaning she either liked balloons or that she liked fun stuff like parties, and Ravi guessed the latter.

"Oh YAY! Okay, what too doo first…! Who should we see now…"

"Just don't take too long…" Ravi said, half talking to himself. He let this pony drag him to meet ponies he didn't know.

Suddenly Ravi started to wonder if he should've discriminated his choice just because of color…too late now though.

~~~~
"This is my place! Sugercube corner!" Pinkie exclaimed, standing in front of a building that looked like an oversized gingerbread house with a cupcake on it, refurbished to make a house to live in. Had Ravi not known better he'd thought that it would really be edible.
Inside it showed it was basically a bakery it had a few tables with some ponies eating pastries, and a court table where it displayed the pastries they had within glass domes, along with a few small pieces as samples for new recipes.
"This is where I live and work! I love to make tasty sweets for everypony so they all can share the smiles!  The treats here are ssoooo Good! Made with love! I know, you should have one these Cupcakes! On the house!" Before Ravi could react to what the mare just said, Pinkie was taking a Cupcake out of one of the glass domes and then shoved it into his mouth along with the paper on the treat, catching him off guard. "No need to thank me!"
Annoyed, Ravi spit out the paper wrapping and tried to breakdown the big mass of frosting and pastry dough in his mouth. Tasting it, he couldn't stay too irritated at Pinkie, the cupcake was very sweet and tasty like a bite of heaven…least it probably would've been, had it not been shoved in the way it was. Ravi swallowed the lump and turned his gaze back to Pinkie Pie, who was looking with eager eyes again.  Now that he knew she worked, no, that Pinkie lived here, the stallion had an idea about why and how she seemed so happy and energetic.
"Well, whadya say! Did ya like it? Huh! Huh!"
Despite not liking the pony very much so far, he couldn't lie, it was one of the best treats he tasted in a long time. "Well, yeah, it was good-"
"Yay! I knew it was good! and know why, cause I put point 20 percent more frosting in that one than normal, and a dash of rainbow-sugar! You should come here whenever you get the chance! Corse you have to find a place to crash first but hey that can be fixed easy!" Ravi looked at Pinkie, interested in the last part, but before he could say anything, "Well that's my place in a candy shell! Ohohoh!  Next you should see Sweet Apple Acres!" Pinkie grabbed his hoof and started to drag him again with her limitless energy.
After a few minutes Ravi discovered that her boundless energy was a bit contagious, that or the cupcake had some effect on him. He stopped resisting so much and ran with Pinkie to wherever she was going, more so in a competitive manner than anything else. He often tried to outrun the pony for exercise and for the sake of running fast, but to little avail; his baggage, though not really too much of a burden on his back, were just heavy enough to slow him down enough so he couldn't beat the skipping mare.
By the time they reached Sweet Apple Acres, Ravi had to pause for a second for his breath to catch up with him, while Pinkie still seemed fine. When he was ready, the stallion walked with Pinkie through the gate into the place.
Its looks were pretty basic. It was basically a farm with different crops, pen houses for various uses, a water well, and a gateway to a huge field of apple trees behind the farm stretching far as the eye could see in the mild fog, which was close to being gone now.
"Hey Applejack!? You here! There's somepony I want you to see!" And not to long after Pinkie yells that, Ravi hears galloping nearby. Turning to see, he found an orange mare with a cowboy hat on, tan pony-tail mane and tail hair, and a cutie mark of 3 apples.
"Why howdy Pinkie! Ain't this a pleasant surprise, coarse that's to be expected from you." She chuckled then turned to the stallion pony. "So, who's yer friend here?"
"I'm not her fri-"
"This here Is RaviStarlight!  Ravi for short," The stallion groaned; Pinkie was still not letting him finish a sentence it seemed. "He's a new pony that just recently came to Ponyville! I was just showin him around a little."
"Well that's mighty kind a ya Pinkie." Ravi scoffed a little, then noticed Applejack facing him. "Well aren’t you a cool colt! I'm Applejack, I help run Sweet Apple Acres, and as you may have guessed, we specialize in the apple. Other crops are raised by other family relatives." She turned to look at her farm.
"A beauty, is it not? This here farm is taken care of by me and my family. Apple bloom," She pointed to a tan filly pony that had red hair and no Spirit symbol yet, moving a basket of apples in the field. "She's nuts about getting 'er cutie mark, so don't mention the blank flank…"
Spirit symbol. Ravi almost thought out loud, paranoid about the name
"Next we have Granny smith." She then pointed an old green mare with old white hair, and a pie spirit symbol, dozing on a rocking chair. "Elder of us all, though time has took its toll on 'er." Her hoof moved to point at a muscular red stallion with orange hair and a cut green apple Spirit symbol. "Last but certainly not least Big Macintosh; he helps me manage things 'round here and is quite the help! You should've been here when the family came together far an' wide for the Summer sun celebration, but I guess not much can be done about that."
"Yeah, quite a place you got here…" Ravi commented, letting his gaze wander around the farm.
"Why thank ya kindly! We're mighty proud of this 'ere farm, lotsa work was put into her but it was worth it." Applejack  walked over to an apple tree and gave it a light kick with a back leg, causing an apple to fall. "Our signature crop, the apple." She rolled the apple to Ravis hooves."Best in all of Equestria, if not the world! Have a bite and you'll see. Com'on, I insist!"
Taking up her offer, Ravi leaned down and bit into the red fruit, thankful that it wasn't shoved into his mouth unlike another certain treat he was offered earlier.
The apple was delicious, juicy, and sweet. Ravi found himself eating the whole thing soon enough, excluding the core of course. "You weren't kidding, this is quite the fruit!"
Pinkie took the complement before Applejack could. "I know! Applejack makes the best apples ever! Course that's why it's called Sweet Apple Acres and she's called Applejack but yep! Her apples are top sellers! Not that I know the Sales charts but-"
"Say Pinkie, 'ah think that pretty much does it for mai farm tour for now." Applejack said, noticing Ravis disinterest in Pinkies speech, then extended a hoof to the stallion to shake, which Ravi obliged.  "You feel free to come again Sugercube, and hope you have a wonderful time in Ponyville!"
"All right then, and thank you."  Ravi replied, noticing that the Pink mare actually didn't interrupt his sentences this time. That was certainly progress…but he noticed Pinkies arm wrapped around his hoof again.
"Yeah well that's all there is to see here! Now for the remaining 4!" Pinkiepie galloped out of Sweet Apple Acres, dragging Ravi along with her, again.
"Hmm, you know! We should See Rarity next! She's a fashion designer and stitches the finest clothing around!"
"Be still my heart…" He knew that when a girl comes to clothing, it can last for hours. Ravi never really cared to much how he looked so long as he looked decent, but he had a feeling that these ponies may think otherwise. With a groan, Ravi waited for Pinkie to reach the Fashion designer…place.
~~~

Ravi stood in front of a big tower like place with various designs and flags on it. Boutique place thing, whatever. Ravi wasn't exactly big on the latest fashion trends, and he was reluctant to go in.

"Oh come on!" Exclaimed Pinkie, pulling his hoof , trying to get him through the door. "It's so we can see Rarity, stop being a fussy mic muss fuss! Soon as we see her soon we can see everypony else!"

"…Fine." Ravi stopped his resistance just in time for the Pink mare to give a powerful yank, causing them both to tumble through the door.

"Ouff…" Said the mare, who toppled over the stallion.

Ravi, belly on the floor, groaned and looked at his bags. Nothing spilled and nothing seems to have been damaged, which seemed to have been the only good thing.

A white unicorn nearby, holding ribbons and scissors with her light blue magic, simply stared. "Umm, hi Pinkie. Glad you could, uhh," She cut a red ribbon and placed the things on a table to check on the ponies. "…Drop by.  Who's this Colt you brought along?"

"I'm, Ravi Starlight, Ravi for SHORT!" With the last word he pushed himself up, getting a 'Hay!' in response from Pinkie as he shoved her off. "You must be Rarity I take it?" Looking at her image, she had an elegant body, a well groomed dark purple mane and curly tail, and apparently 3 diamonds for a sprit symbol.

"Why, yes I am. Is there something I can help you with?" Said Rarity. Looking at the way the pink mare simply flew off, she couldn't help but suppress a chortle.

"Well, you see I'm new to this place. I try to ask somepony for how to settle in, and as luck would have it…"

"The first pony you asked just so happened to be Pinkiepie?"

"Yeah, that. She insisted that I meet her friends, so-"

Pinkie finally got up to interrupt Ravis sentences again. "So that he may have a warm welcome into this new town and new friends! Not to mention get around." She jumped to Rarity's side. "As you and that sentence just said this is Rarity! She's the best fashion designer there is!"

The stallion tilted his head. What do you mean "that sentence?" He just shrugged it off and turned to the unicorn.

"Well yes, I do own this fine building. The Carousel Boutique has fashions unlike any other. I can make any kind of clothing for any occasion! I do take pride in what I do, for I do enjoy fashion and style! So if there's anything you need on clothing, fashion, or anything like that don't hesitate to call me!"

"Okay then." As he stated to Pinkie before, Ravi wasn't into fashion. But Rarity seemed nice enough, so he decided not to mention it. "I'll see to it once I get my own place, to…" He stopped talking when he noticed that Rarity was examining his mane.

"Say, forgive me for prying, but that's some do you have with your mane. How you comb it like that? I notice that your hair is straight yet slightly curly at parts."

"Oh this?" He looked at his mane. "I hardly ever comb it, and when I do I just comb straight down." When he got a questioning look from Rarity, he replied, "Er, it's a new, style I'm going with."

"Hmm… It seems to suit you well! Whatever works I guess!"

"Yes, and thank you…"His eyes wandering, he noticed a filly unicorn that looked a bit like Rarity with her mane was a lighter shade of purple. The filly was making some sort of paper craft.

"..Oh, that's Sweetie belle, my younger sister. She's part of some, thing her friends made."

"The Cutie Mark Crusaders!" The filly jumped in, leaving the craft on the table. "Me, Apple bloom, and Scootaloo made a club to find ways to get our cutie marks!" She looked at her flank. "Not much luck so far… but we're working on it! Origami craft are sure to be it!" Sweetie belle looked at Ravis 'Cutie mark.' "Speaking of which, that's an interesting mark you have their yourself! What's it stand for?"

Deciding not to tell the filly of his own name for it, "This, I'm not entirely sure myself, I came up with many things but I'm not sure." Deciding to change the topic before anypony could say anything, "Say, I think I heard of Apple bloom…she was in the field of Apple Acres."

"Yeah! Apple B is Applejacks sister like Sweetie belle is Rarity's! Scootaloo is a Pegasus filly that is, well I don't really know who's she's related to but she's a huge fan of Rainbow Dash!" Pinkie pie informed excitedly.

"Oh really. That's cool I guess." Ugh, so many introductions… I'm not sure if I'll even remember all of the names. Ravi shook his head. Least these meetings are brief. I'm not good with being social with too many people...

"Well, do you want me to show you around?" Rarity asked, snapping him out of his thoughts.

Ravi was surprised by how quickly something like that came up right as he thought about the opposite.  "NO no, that's quite alright…"

"Common, we insist!" Said Pinkie, butting him though the place with her head, with Rarity following.

"No no, I really, uhh, I still have to go to do…welll…" His arguments feel on deaf ears, and Ravi simply gave up.

I just HAD to think this would be brief…I should know better than to even think things that can be jinxed.

~~~~
"Ugh, I'd thought that'd never be over" Ravi groaned as he walked next to the overly energetic pink mare.
The little tour was dull for him, and slightly awkward. He hardly cared nor understood about what style things he was shown, yet had to at least pretend he did out of good manners(though he felt like falling asleep during much of it and nearly did). That and he really didn't know what else to do. He was sometimes sprayed with colognes, which he didn't really enjoy. When Rarity told him that the tour was done he left the boutique soon as he formally could, trying to leave Pinkie behind, who he thought was left in the sewing room.
But as he soon as he turned around, the mare was somehow outside waiting for him. All he could do was sigh and trot forward.
"So why are we out here again?" He asked. The path they were walking on was a trail in the field just outside of Ponyville, the place he still was trying to find a house to live in.
"We're going to see another one of my friends silly! Her name's Fluttershy."
"Fluttershy, is she possibly a Pegasus, who is shy?" Ravi guessed.
"Why, yes she is! How'd you know?" The mare replied, beaming.
"…Just had a hunch." Ravi had to look away from the odd mare. "Say, I see a… cottage over there." Not just a cottage, but many trees as well, along with a small stream nearby, a few fields with various animals in them, and a lot more trees. "I take it this friend of yours is a nature lover?"
"Why yes she is! How can you tell so much? Are you psychic?" She beamed, again.
Ravi just rolled his eyes and continued to walk toward the cottage. "Since she knows you, I think you should be the one to knock."
"Oki Doki Loki!" Pinkie hopped up to the door and began to knock. No one came. Pinkie continued, same result.
"…Wow, she is shy." Commented Ravi, walking closer. " So, what now…is on the door?" Standing next to Pinkie pie, the stallion noticed a small note attached to the door. Not surprised that the mare missed it, he looked it over.
Sorry, but I'm away guiding some birds to good trees for nesting.
I'll be back later, sorry if I'm making anyone wait.
~Fluttershy
"Well, looks like we'll have to skip here…" Ravi said with slight faked disappointment. Honestly though, he was relieved that he could skip a pony, especially the shy one who'd most likely just make an awkward silence.
"Aww, that's a bummer! She's so sweet and…quiet." Pinkie sighed, than quickly perked back up again. "Oh well, I can introduce you two later! But given your PSYcho powers you know her summary!" Ravi rolled his eyes yet again. "Hay! Let's see Rainbow Dash! She should be nearby resting on some cloud again."  The mare hopped on ahead with the stallion following. In his mind, Ravi was wondering if he would get a house anytime that day.
~
"Hey Dashie! DDAAASSHHHIIIEEE!!" The mare called out.
Ravi looked up. Pinkie said that 'Dashie' lived in a house of cloud, and she didn't feel like going to get something to visit her, given that she usually isn't there anyway. She just decided to call out when they got to an open field.
Ravi didn't see anything in the skies though, other than a few clouds. The fog has faded away by now, so she couldn't hsve been that hard to find. "…I don't see anything coming Pin-" BAM! Some rainbow blur tackled Pinkie from the sky, and almost got Ravi as well, but he reflexively side-jumped away.
When he turned around, he saw a cyan Pegasus mare with windblown rainbow mane and tail, and a rainbow bolt for a sprit symbol. Obviously, this was 'Rainbow dash' Pinkie pie was talking of. Speaking of, Pinkiepie was toppled on top of the mare's back.
"Darn it, the surprise went off. I wasn't expecting that guy to dodge that way... otherwise the tackle flip would've worked" Rainbow shook herself, and helped Pinkie up. "Oh well that's what I get for unannounced tricking. So pink, what's up?"
I'm not to be used as a show tool! The stallion muttered under his breath. Looking just ahead of them, he noticed an inconveniently placed mud pile that they just barely missed. And I'd hate to have been shot right into that mess…
"There's this pony I want you to meet!" Pinkie pointed to the blue pony. "This is a new pony in town!" Again Ravi rolled his eyes, given that for a while he wasn't in town. "Ravi Starlight! He's new so I want to introduce him to my bestistes friends!"
…bestistes? The word was a bit, odd to the stallion.
"Well okay then!," Dash turned to Ravi. "The stallion with reflexes! You've most likely heard of me, but I'm the Rainbow Dash!" She said, saying each syllable of her name with extra force. "The fastest flier in ALL of Equestria!" She extended out her hoof. "Nice to meet ya, brony!"
He just stared with an awkward expression "…Brony?"
"Bro, Pony, Bro-ony." Rainbow dropped her hoof gave a slightly bland glance. "I know you're new but, to not know an expression like that, have you been liven under a rock or somethin? No offence…"
"Brrr-rony? That sounds like Macaroni Brownies! I should try that sometime, coarse then that require me to put dough in water, unless you…" Pinkie went into one of her random speeches and thus was ignored.
"No, but I come from in Mareica so you're not far off." Ravi chuckled to himself.
Rainbow saw his chuckling as decided to join in, despite not getting the joke. "Heheh, what place is Mareica?"
Ravi was about to ask in surprise if she really didn't know the place. But then again, if this place was hidden by mist, which no longer seemed to surround Ponyville currently showing the clear blue skies, then it was to be expected they they didn't know of the 'outside lands.'
"Oh, look at me talk as is this was some super sacred place." The stallion mumbled to himself.
Rainbow edged close to try to hear better. "Sorry, I didn't catch that."
Ravi gave his head a slight shake. Once again he let his mind wander, this time during a conversion. He shrugged it off and paid more attention to what was going on at the moment. "Oh, no place important. I am familiar with the term, I just haven't heard it in a while."
"Oh, Oky then." She let out a sly smile and extended her hoof out again. "Then… how about a Bro-hoof? From the honorable RainbowDash!"  She retreated her hoof to her face, spat on it, and extended out again. "Don't leave a Pegisister hangin!"
Ravi hid a look of repulsiveness. Aren't mares the ones who are supposed to complain that stallions are gross, and not the other way around?  He hesitated, but Pinkie, who was surprisingly silent, was staring at him with a grin and expectant eyes. With a hidden inward sigh, Ravi gave Rainbow a 'bro-hoof' and quickly rubbed his hoof off on the grass.
Rainbow looked at her hoof, then at his disapprovingly. "Umm, that was weak, and you forgot to spit on your own hoof." She placed her hoof down. "You need to work on it. I'll have to show you how to do the art of the bro-hoof soon." She extended out her wings and started to fly just over the ground. "But that'll have to wait for another time. Right now I gotta fly! Pegasus duties and such." She cast one last glance at Ravi. "Let's hang out again sometime!" With that she bolted off into the sky, leaving a rainbow trail behind her. "Catch ya later!"
"Well that was fun!" Shouted out Pinkie pie, who was quiet throughout the whole thing, much to Ravi's surprise."Too bad she's busy, but sleeping won't tend to itself!" She gave Ravi another wide grin.
Once more his eyes rolled in his sockets. "Yeah, so umm… who's left?"
"Just one more… Twilight Sparkle! She came to Ponyville over a year ago. She made her home in the Ponyville library! Oh you have to see her, let's go!"
"She lives in a library?" The pink mare nodded "…Okay then…" And once again, the stallion followed the mare, this time it was back in town.
However, as Ravi followed the mare a thought crossed his mind
I'm staring to notice that all the ponies Pinkie introduced to me are all mares, including herself; and when a stallion is introduced to a few single mares something's gonna happen eventually. I swear, if this is some plan of hers then I'm making sure to stay out of it the best I can, and I'm not going to being sharing a bedroom anytime soon. Pinkie I hope you've got nothing funny planed here, in that way. I hope I'm just being paranoid.
For a second, Ravi heard something say "You are silly nilly!" Whether it was Pinkie, he was unable to tell.
~~~~

The two ponies stood right in front of the Equestrian Library. It was basically a huge tree with a door and many windows on it. Built on the sides were balconies with hoof railings, top one holding a blue telescope for astronomical purposes, or simple star gazing.

Pinkie let Ravi knock on the door this time.

"Just a second!" Said a mare, which Ravi guessed was Twilight. On the other of the door heard what seemed to be books being moved onto shelves and then hoof-steps.

Okay then Ravi, after this, hopefully you'll be on your way to making progress in this town. Let's see how this goes. He thought to himself

The Door swung open, and revealed a violet unicorn with a dark purple mane and tail that both had a pink stripe between 2 not as dark purple stripes. Her hair-do was simple yet practical bangs going down flatly, and her Spirit symbol was a pink 6 edge star with other white stars around it.

"Oh? Hello, I don't believe seeing your face around here before, what's your name?" Said the apparent Twilight Sparkle in a formal fashion.

He let a pause to see if Pinkie would interrupt him again before speaking. "My name is Ravi Starlight, and I recently came from a distant land to make a living here… but I got caught up in things. Then Pinkie came and wanted to introduce me to her friends…whether I liked it or not." The last part he added silently.

"Oh really?" She looked at the Pink pony, who was holding a big grin. "Oh, in that case, please come in." She opened the door in fully and stepped away, letting Ravi walk and Pinkie hop in. When they both came in she closed the door and walked up to the both of them

"Haia Twilight!  I met the pony on my wandering around Ponyville! I knew he was new so I decided to give him a warm welcome and intrude him to my bestist friends! That way he'd see Ponyville and we'd become good friends!" Pinkie put on another wide grin. "You're the last one I have to show to him! Other then Fluttershy, cause she was out."

"I see…Well I bet she'll be gone a while, she did have a big flock of birds with her." Twilight turned to face Ravi. "Well, welcome to Ponyville! And sorry if Pinkie gave you trouble, she has too much energy then what good for a pony. I remember my first visit years ago still." Twilight shook her head with an passive expression. "I was as annoyed as you must be, am I right? Go ahead and say it."

Ravi slowly nodded. "Yes, I've been in this place for a while now just trying to find out how to move in; But then the pink pony came and insisted I followed her to see her friends and such."

"Hmm, I got you. Don’t worry, incredible sounding this may be, you get used to Pinkie in time. Now anyway," Twilight turned her head to Pinkie. "Hey, Pinkie Pie, I think I'll be able to show Ravi around now, if you wouldn't mind."

Pinkies ears dropped. "Aww, but I wanted to play with the new pony some more! Plus he hasn't met Fluttershy!" She let out a glum look, but it was soon replaced with her enthusiastic grin, again. "You sure you got this, I'd be more than happy to show him around myself."

The unicorn nodded "Yeah, I'm sure Pinkie."

Pinkie smiled. "Okay then, if you insist!" She went to the door. "I've got pastries to make and parties to toss! See you soon Ravi" She hopped outside, leaving to do who knows what.

Ravi let out a sigh of relief "Whew, I thought I never was gonna lose crazy that pony. No offence. But really I was surprised she didn't cut off one of my sentences there."

"It's fine, a pony can only handle so much pinkie in one day." Twilight giggled to herself. "Now anyway, I think I'll be able to take you to Town hall if you want to find a way to move in. Oh, but first I'll tell you of this place and myself as formalities if you wouldn't mind." She cleared her throat "I'm Twilight, in charge of this library, with my dragon assistant Spike."

"Wait, you have a baby dragon for an assistant?" Ravi asked, surprised. Dragons are incredibly rare creatures, least where he lived, and Ravi only caught a glimpse of one once a few years, at an event most times. Whether it was the same here was beyond him though…

"Yes, I met him at a test for talented unicorns when I was a filly, when I was to hatch a dragon egg. It's a long story." Twilight walked up to a small basket, where a small reptilian bod,y 2 hooves tall, laid curled up. It had green spines along its back, purple scales, and a light green belly. Twilight grabbed a blanket and put it above the sleeping baby dragon. "He had a long day, so he does need his rest."

Twilight walked up to her desk and turned back to face the Stallion. The desk was simple, looked like it was meant for writing notes with, as blank scroll paper and a quill in an ink bottle. It made Ravi feel a pleasant sense of nostalgia. "This is my workplace, also where I work with the books sometimes. I write letters to the princess of Equestria here. I'm currently sending her reports on what I learn along with my friends."

"Princess?" Ravi asked.

"Yeah, The Princess Celestia-" Twilight remembered Ravi was a new pony. "Oh, haven't you heard of her yet?" The stallion shook his head. "Oh, well Celestia is the Princess of Equestria. She raises the sun across the sky with her powerful magic. She's an Alicorn so-"

"Wait, did you say Alicorn?" Ravi asked, trying to hid his shock.

"Yeah, in fact there are 2 really, Celestia and Luna. Luna as you may have guessed Raises the moon. The princesses lived longer then anypony even can remember, and they have powerful abilities as well, being princesses and all."

"Oh, okay then." Ravi said it casually, but really he was dumbfounded. Alicorns are real? But they were just fiction! Was it possible that somewhere in Equestria there was an undefective Alicorn that somehow discovered ways to make them some demigod? Or was previous info he was told false; nothing would surprise him that much. After all,  you'd think that having wings wouldn't strain a mind capable of magic that much.

Ravi let the topic slide. He pretty much came up with a few theories already, and if they were princesses of the land it was inevitable he would hear more of them one way or another. Maybe Equestria was out of the ordinary after all…

Twilight continued before the stallion could get lost in his own thoughts. "They really just watch over the land more than they do anything else. I'm Celestia's number 1 student so I have my connections." Twilight put a proud smile on her face and walked across her bookshelves.

"Now anyway, I have wide collection of various books gotten from various parts of the world. I find them all interesting, but I have only few ponies come to check out books. Oh well," Her walk across bookshelves ended at the staircase at the wall of the oval library. She  climbed up the stairs "Here at the top level we have a balcony, where I sometimes send messages, make observations or simply step out for air. Also I  have my room up here, cause I live here. It does feel nice to live in a tree you know, as Kokiri tribes have, so I heard in my studies." She jumped down from the top level.

"And with that, I conclude my little introduction of the library and such." She stretched "Oh I haven't gotten to do an introduction like that in a loong time!  But anyway," Twilight gazed at Ravi. "I believe I said that I'd help you find a place here. Town hall is just a trot away. I'll go with you to lead you to it, that and who knows how others with react to a newcomer, or pinkie."

Ravi smiled. He was already walking in town before, but who knows when that pony could pop up. "Yes, and thank you. We can leave as soon as you're ready."

"Let's go then." Twilight's horn glowed violet, then the door did as well and was opened. Twilight walked outside, and Ravi followed into town.

She's not half bad. He thought. She was formal and to the point about things. Course, she most likely been though these sort of things before. Plus it didn't seem like she was trying to entrance me, so maybe I was just being paranoid. I'm still not going to trust Pinkie's antics anytime soon though.
