Chapter 1: Princess! Princess!

Twilight was waiting in the main room of her library when she heard a knock at the door. Glancing up at the clock confirmed what she had assumed, that it was Pinkie on the other side. Her friends had been feeling off side effects from the cutie mark switch that she accidentally caused almost three months ago. Rainbow had urges to help small animals, and could somewhat understand them as well for a time. Rarity was able to move the clouds away from her boutique without thinking, and even caused a small fire on Sweet Apple Acres with lightning. Fluttershy was the only one that was normal, to a degree, but throwing parties for her animal friends wasn't strange or dangerous to anypony. Applejack was caught stitching her hat up expertly after it got ripped during a work day, and she had also made Applebloom a collection of what she called bows, but they were anything but.

And then there was Pinkie. She seemed to be remembering things that happened in the alternate life she had been shown. Every now and then she would look at one of the girls with confused looks, and on one occasion asking why Rainbow had Rarity's cutie mark. They were worried for her, but it took an entire month to finally convince her to take a day off from work so she could go see Twilight and get this all figured out. The others were learning that through some strange memory spell, similar to the one that she had used when Discord attacked, Twilight was able to make them forget the alternate lives that they had "lived". After enough sessions the only thing they had to worry about were some short term memory loss issues, but even those were starting to go away.

"Twilight?" Pinkie asked quietly from outside, still waiting for the daydreaming Princess to open the door and let her in. Twilight blushed to herself before opening the door, giving Pinkie a large smile as she let her in.

"Sorry for the wait, I got... distracted," Twilight apologized with a small bow of her head, which Pinkie blew off. When Twilight looked up she saw that Pinkie's pink hair was straight, something that only happened on rare occasions. Her three balloon cutie mark seemed to be a darker shade as well, but Twilight passed it off as bad lighting.

"So, what's going on?" Twilight asked as she led Pinkie to the table, where the two of them sat down. Pinkie looked down at her hooves for a moment before she looked up at Twilight. Pinkie froze before saying something, as if she didn't know exactly what she was supposed to say, but when she went to talk all that came out was a quiet mutter, which was completely unlike her.

"Pinkie?" Twilight asked, putting her hoof out on the table as a way to reach out to Pinkie. Grabbing her hoof Pinkie seemed to perk up, her hair getting some of it's puffiness back. After another minute of thought she managed to say what she wanted.

"Twilight, I'm... remembering it," Pinkie said slowly, "Piece by piece, but it's all coming back to me..."

"Uh oh..." Twilight muttered slowly as she thought about what this could mean. Her other memories could be strong enough to overpower her, causing her to share a cutie mark with Applejack naturally. Something like that would cause humongous issues for the two Princesses back in Canterlot, as well as for Twilight herself. All she could do was wipe Pinkie's memory, and it might bring break apart everything. Twilight had been trying non-stop for the past few months, trying to come up with a form of medicine that would take her place in the healing process, but nothing ever seemed to work. One medicine gave Rainbow feather flu. Another gave Rarity magistipation. The most recent one caused Applejack to have wild muscle spasms, and ended up making Fluttershy work extra hard because she had accidentally bucked a tiny beaver halfway across the farm.

"What kind of things are you remembering?" Twilight asked, hoping that this was going to help her narrow down the hunt when she went to "delete" the memories inside Pinkie's head.

"Only bits and pieces, nothing too big, I think..." Pinkie replied in a troubling way, but Twilight passed it off as her being nervous about this. She didn't want to have to do this in the first place, so it would be understandable if she was uncomfortable right now. Twilight sighed before she began to work her magic, literally. Within a few seconds she was inside Pinkie's subconscious, memories of her entire life laying all around. There were some memories that Twilight saw herself in, and others that Twilight was happy she didn't see herself in. After some searching she was able to find a memory of what they had cheerfully dubbed "Apple Pie", and with a quick flash of her horn the memory was gone. With her job done, or at least as far as she knew, Twilight left, popping back to the library floor.

"How are you feeling Pinkie?" Twilight asked, looking at her worriedly. A spell like this can cause serious damage to a pony's mind, and with how Pinkie was acting it seemed like that might have happened.

"Oh, um, I'm okay!" Pinkie said quickly as she snapped out of the daze she was in, "I was just caught off guard by the spell you used, that's all" Pinkie was lying straight through her teeth, but Twilight didn't seem to notice it. With a smile the two of them shook hooves and went their separate ways. When Pinkie was outside she stopped and slumped against the door. Why didn't she tell Twilight the truth? What stopped her from telling Twilight the truth? Did Pinkie really know what the truth was? Yes, of course she did, or so she thought...

The truth is; she was married to Big Mac
