Pinkamena 3: Homecoming
Chapter 9: "You Kissed Me?!"
Previous Chapter Next ChapterTwilight and the others arrived at the base of the mountain, near the forest Pinkie was hiding out in. They looked around but saw nothing.
"We need to split up." said Twilight, sounding like a commander in the army.
The others nodded and separated, off to search for May.
May awoke when she felt water splash her face. She blinked a couple times to erase the feeling of fatigue and looked around. She was laying next to the lake outside the cave.
"Wake-y, wake-y." said Pinkie Pie in a fake playful voice.
May looked at her and noticed that she was covered in blood. Especially around her mouth.
"Am... am I dead?" asked May, still a little drowsy.
Pinkie let out a short chuckle. "Well, I haven't eaten you, if that's what you mean." She lowered herself into the shallow part of the lake and hung on to the edges with her front legs. She then closed her eyes and sighed.
May suddenly had a thought; this could be the perfect time to drown Pinkie. She thought and thought about and then decided against it. Pinkie would probably just overpower her anyway. Pinkie opened one eye and looked at May. She could see that May was thinking about something. She also figured out what by the look on May's face. Pinkie let out an evil chuckle.
"A perfect opportunity to take me down. Why not take it?" she asked inquisitively.
"How'd you--"
"I can tell." Pinkie sad. "So? Why?"
May let out a sigh. "You'd probably just kill me before I got the chance."
Pinkie let out another little laugh and closed her eye. "You're probably right." Just then she heard a noise and opened her eyes. "What's that?"
"What's what?" asked May.
"Voices." said Pinkie. "They're coming."
"Who's--"
Pinkie grabbed May's leg and pulled her underwater with her. The two now lay at the bottom of the lake in the deep part.
Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash emerged from the trees in the clearing.
"Ah-ha!" said Rainbow Dash triumphantly. "A cave. She has to be there. Let's go!"
"A c-c-c-cave?" asked Fluttershy. "Looks scary."
"So, what do you want to do?"
Down in the lake, Pinkie could feel herself running out of oxygen. She tried to think of what she could do to retrieve some air. Then, suddenly, a thought popped into her head. Though she knew it would feel weird, and she probably wouldn't like it, she did it anyway.
"So, you want to return with the others. Is that it?" asked Rainbow Dash, getting annoyed at their lack of progress.
"That'd be nice." flutter shy responded in her gentle tone.
Rainbow Dash let out a frustrated groan. "Fine." she said, turning around. "Let's go find the others."
"Oh, joy." said Fluttershy softly.
The two left the clearing and headed back towards the castle.
A minute passed after Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy left before Pinkamena and May emerged from the lake, gasping for air. They grabbed onto the sides of the lake and tried to catch their breath.
"What was that?" May asked frantically.
"What was what?" Pinkie asked, not really caring.
"You kissed me!" Pinkie pulled herself out of the water. "And it wasn't a short one either."
"Calm down." said Pinkie. "It wasn't a kiss."
"Then what was it?"
"I was running out of air." Pinkie explained. "So I shared yours."
"Oh, really?" May asked, not really believing her.
"Uh... yeah." said Pinkie. "Didn't they teach you about that in school?"
"Not really." May said, still sounding freaked out.
Pinkie gave her a smile. "Why would I kiss you? Even if you were a colt, why would I kiss you?"
"Because you're a freak!" May yelled.
"You were running out of air, too." Pinkie said, kneeling down in front of her. May was still in the lake. "I bet you liked it a little, anyway."
"What?!" May yelled, now feeling a little violated.
Pinkie laughed. "I'm kidding. Calm down, girl." May said nothing. "You ever planning on getting out of the water, Ariel?"
May looked down and realized Pinkie was right. She was still in the lake. Pinkie stood and backed up as May pulled herself out of the water.
"Isn't that better?" Pinkie asked in a fake playful voice. She let out a soft giggle.
"Now what?" asked May, calming down a bit.
"I'm getting hungry again." said Pinkie, licking her lips.
"Again? You just ate two campers."
"Now I need something sweet." said Pinkie. "Sweet like... Strawberry." May felt her anger returning. "I wonder if I'll ever find a pony that'll taste as sweet as Strawberry tasted."
May lunged at Pinkie with a yell. Pinkie countered by kicking May in the legs and forcing her to the ground. May lay on her stomach with Pinkie holding her down. May grunted with effort but Pinkie was too strong.
"Why haven't you killed me yet?" May asked.
"Why?" Pinkie asked. "Because... I like your company." She released May and headed for the cave. "We need to be ready when the others come back."
May was shocked. Did Pinkie really mean it when she said she enjoyed her company? Or was it sarcasm again? She couldn't tell this time. She could only hope for the best.
