It was a terrible day indeed. Knowing I would need the mane six, I would spread my wings and take to the air. Using the speed I had my name sake from, I would fly faster. My speed was so great that I looked like an actual comet when I was flying. I just knew that the best place to start would be my best friend Twilight Sparkle. After some time I would reach the treehouse and knock the door. After a few minutes of waiting, Spike would open the door

Spike: “Oh hey there Comet, have you come to see Twilight?”

“Yes Spike it’s a matter of great importance that I see her and the girls.”

Spike: “Oh ok then”

Spike would go to get Twilight, and I would sit down. Discord presented a very large threat. I mean he was the freaking god of chaos, if that isn’t threatening then what was? I remembered the stories that my aunt told me of Discord when I was growing up. How she and my mother Princess Luna would fight him, using the elements of harmony to seal him in stone. I really hoped that we could stop him. Soon Twilight would then come to the door with Spike and looked at me with a worried expression

Twilight: “Comet? What’s wrong?”

“Twi, its-”

I would be cut off as chocolate rain began to start pouring down from cotton candy clouds. This was clearly Discord’s doing
“I’ll tell you later, c’mon we need to get the girls and head to Canterlot”

Twilight would nod and tells Spike to watch the house as she gallops with me to the acres, where Applejack and the girls would be trying to stop them

AJ: “Whoa nelly, what in tarnation is going on here?”

Rainbow Dash: “How the heck should we know?!”

I would see Rainbow and Fluttershy move clouds out of the way, but they would just keep going back to the same position

Rarity: “My word! I am going to get my new dress dirty!”

Fluttershy: “Oh my, I hope the animals are ok”

Pinkie: “Weeeee! Chocolate rain!”

I would facehoof with Twi at Pinkie’s usual hyperness and run over, trying to help

Twilight: “I will use my fail-safe spell, it has to work!”

Twilight would use said spell but unbelievably but kinda obvious to me, it failed.

Twilight: “My failsafe spell….failed?”

“Girls, we need to get to canterlot now! Aunt Celestia will explain everything”

They all nod and walk to me, I would then use an extra powerful teleportation spell to teleport us to Canterlot, stumbling a bit when we arrive due to the strain it put on me.

Twilight: “You ok there Comet?”

She would put a hoof onto my shoulder to see if I was ok and I would give her a smile

“Yeah I’m fine Twi, just a little dizzy. Now let’s go”

Pretty soon we would reach Celestia, she would tell the others about Discord as I look at the stained glass windows while we walked to the elements of harmony’s resting place. The walls pictured various events, including one of the battle between my aunt, mother and the evil King Sombra, who had cursed my mother to become Nightmare Moon. At least that’s what I think could have happened.

Celestia: “The elements have been kept here, since you used them to defeat Nightmare Moon.”

“But Aunt Celestia, how did Discord get free?”

Celestia: “Because the seven elements of harmony were tied to me and Luna when we defeated Discord. The sealing spell held up, but now, that you and the girls have got the elements with you, they are no longer tied to me and your mother.”
I would nod as I understood, this should have been foreseen. I would look up at the stained glass image of the seven of us using the elements on Nightmare Moon and smiles. Thinking back to that day when Twilight and I finally found that… Friendship Is Magic

“I keep telling you Twi, that book will be the death of you”
Twi: “Oh hush Comet you know that I can’t resist a good read”

She would giggle as she said this. I really didn’t understand her sometimes. We had been best friends for so long now. The book was about the story of the elements of harmony and Nightmare Moon who my aunt and father would never talk about. I had always wondered why they never did. Then Twilight and I would remember something. The 1000 year time limit was up….Nightmare Moon comes back tonight!

Me and Twi: “We need to get to the library!”

We would run to the library, rushing past two ponies asking us to go to the party somepony was having. As we got in, Twilight would call for Spike. He would say something about a gift but Twilight would cut him off, Looking at the hourglass I would catch the glimpse of a black alicorn with a long flowing starry mane and glowing blue eyes with slits. She wore dark blue armour on her and a dark blue helmet. As quickly as it appeared, it disappeared, followed by a quick flash of a black alicorn with dark blue armour but a darker yellow mane, darkness flowing around it as it had sharp teeth and glowing red eyes that were slitted. I must have been going crazy. I shook it off and would wait as spike sends a letter to aunt Celestia. Pretty soon we would get a letter back, Aunt Celestia was telling us to go to Ponyville and to make friends.

Twilight: “Well looks like we are heading to the town of Ponyville Comet.”
“I call dibs on shotgun!”

Twilight would laugh at that as I would head to the chariot awaiting us. As Twilight and Spike got in, the door closed and started taking us to Ponyville. We would soon arrive and was soon approached by a pink pony with big poofy mane and tail. Twilight would start saying hello, but the pony gasped and ran off.

“That was….different”
Twilight: “Um yeah, so what’s first Spike?”
Spike: “Well first is food. We need to head to Sweet Apple Acres to meet an earth pony called Applejack”.
“Ok and I suppose it’s over there where all the apple trees are.”

We would head over to the acres, soon coming across Applejack

Aj: “Well howdy there yall. Ah’m Applejack, what are yer names?”
Twilight: “My name is Twilight Sparkle and this is my assistant Spike”
AJ: “Well pleasure ta meet you both. And whats yer name fella?”
“Um, my name is Prince Comet Rider”
AJ: “No kidding? Well welcome to Ponyville your highness”
“No no, just call me Comet, I hate being called that all the time”
AJ: “Well arnt yall different from most of the fancy pants ponies. Why don’t yall stay for lunch?”
Twilight: “Um no we really need to-”

AJ would then drag us to the barn. After meeting her family and having some food, we were off to find the next pony, one called Rainbow Dash.

“Well looks like they are doing a terrible job”
Twilight: “Seems so and-”

I would suddenly be crashed into by the blue Pegasus herself, Rainbow Dash. I wound up staring into her eyes, a blush on my face. Those few moments I felt my heart begin to race. What was this pony doing to me? My brain was telling me to kiss her or hug her but I knew better.

Rainbow Dash: “Oops, hehe sorry about that”

She would get off me; a blush developing on her face as well which I had to admit was kinda cute.

Twilight: “Are you rainbow Dash by any chance?”
RD: “Yep that’s me! Fastest pony in all of equestria!”
“Even more than the legendary Wonderbolts? I know them quite well”
RD: “O-oh my gosh….. you know the “onderbolts?”
“Um yeah I do, they come over for tea now and again and tell me of their shows.”
Rainbow Dash: “But why would they talk to a normal pony like you?”
Twilight: “Because he’s not. He is Prince Comet Rider. Princess Celestia’s nephew”
Rainbow Dash: “Wait you’re him?! Wow! That’s so totally awesome!”

I feel a blush develop but shake it off

“Um you’re in charge of weather am I right?”
RD: “Yep, I can clear the clouds in ten seconds flat!”
Twilight: “Prove it”

Rainbow would do just that, but in the process, she puffed up Twilight’s mane, causing not only Rainbow to laugh when she landed, but also me and Spike as well.

Twilight: “Alright jokers, let’s go”

She would drag me and Spike away, leaving Rainbow Dash to her laughing fit. The next place we went to was a boutique, to see the pony in charge of decorating, Rarity.

Rarity: “No no no this simply won’t do at all”
Twilight: “Um hello? Are you Rarity?”
Rarity: “Why yes I a-”

She looks over at Twilight in shock, Spike having hearts in his eyes as he saw Rarity.

Twilight: “Um we will just get out of your hair”
Rarity: “My hair? But what of yours? No darling I am afraid I must tend to this emergency”

After a montage of dresses and hairstyles, Twilight’s hair was back to normal

Rarity: “Now may I ask where you’re from?”
“We are from Canterlot miss Rarity”
Rarity: “CANTERLOT!? Oh I have always wanted to go there and meet that nephew of Celestia. Prince Blueblood”
“You want to meet my cousin? I’d advise against that”
Rarity: “Cousin? Whatever do you mean darling?”
Twilight: “This is Celestia’s other nephew, Prince Comet Rider”
Rarity: “You are?! Oh how splendid, it’s an honour to meet you Prince Comet”
“Please, just Comet. Anyway we have to go, let’s go Twi”

Twilight and I head out of the building with spike, looking for a pony called Fluttershy now. We would then soon come across a yellow Pegasus teaching bird how to sing

“Um hello there miss”

Fluttershy would jump and clench her wings tight before looking at us

“Hello, I’m Prince Comet Rider, whats your name?”

She would murmur something quietly, Twilight giving her name, Fluttershy mumbles again

“A little louder?”

At that, Fluttershy would make a squeaking noise

Spike: “Hey what did I miss?”
Fluttershy: “Oh my a baby dragon!”
She would run over and pet Spike

Spike: “Oh hey there”

Pretty soon, we reached mine and Twilight’s new house while Fluttershy was talking to Spike. We then hurried inside.
Twilight: “Oh thank Celestia for that. Its over n-”

The lights in the house turns on and everypony would shout surprise, causing me and Twilight to jump. Pretty soon we were introduced to the pink pony, Pinkie Pie. She had gasped and ran away before, because she wanted to set up a party. After a mishap with the punch, Twilight and I headed to her room to think

Twilight: “This is bad Comet. We haven’t found any sign of the elements of harmony because those ponies stopped us with this party”
“And Nightmare Moon comes back tonight. What are we going to do? The summer solstice is tonight!”
Twilight: “I don’t know comet. But we need to head there now.”

We both look up at the moon nervously, seeing the outline of a mare on it.

I look around at all the ponies ready to see Princess Celestia. As the mayor prepares to introduce her I look at the moon and see the outline of the pony, disappear!

Mayor: “Now it is my absolute pleasure to introduce. Princess Celestia!”

The curtain opens but my aunt was not there. Soon some evil cackling was heard and up there would appear the very pony herself…

NIGHTMARE MOON!

Oh indeed it was good to finally be back, after so long I have returned. As I looked through the audience before me, I saw a pony that I recognised all too well….. My dear son ,Prince Comet Rider. I could not see my daughter Star Shower or my other son Emerald Shine anywhere which I was slightly disappointed about, but no matter. Soon I will unleash the eternal night and the seed I planted in Comet.

So here she was, Nightmare Moon herself. I had a bad feeling as she addressed everypony, but then she would say something that shocked me.

Nightmare moon; “Now then, where is my dear son, Comet Rider?”

I couldn’t believe it. I was the Son of Nightmare Moon?! But that’s impossible, it just can’t be true!

“You lie! You’re not my mother. My mother is Princess Luna!
Nightmare moon: “Oh? Lying am I? You poor pathetic foal, I AM Princess Luna!”
Many ponies would all gasp and murmur among each other. Some guards would go to capture her.

Nightmare Moon: “Back away you foals!”

She would disappear into a dark starry mist and fly away. I would then look at Twilight

“Twi we need to find those elements now!”

She would nod and head to the house with me running with her. The other five ponies following us.

After finding the book, we would head to the Everfree forest. Overcoming many obstacles, we would arrive at the castle my mother and aunt once inhabited. The seven elements on a statue. As we get them down, the mist returns and steals them, but Twilight and I jump into the mist, winding up in a tower with nightmare moon with the elements around her hooves. I would distract Nightmare moon as Twilight tries to activate the elements, but to no avail. Nightmare smashes them and it would seem there would be no hope….. then Twilight and I hear the others and a twinkle appears in her eye.

Twilight: “This isn’t over, because those weren’t the elements. Because I know for a fact that the elements are right here!”

The other five and I gather by Twilight

Twilight: “Applejack, who’s truthful words saved me from the avalanche represents the element of…Honesty. Fluttershy, who tamed a wild Manticore, using her kindness and her affiliation with animals, represents the element of…Kindness. Rarity, who’s willingness to give up her tail to help a sad sea serpent represents the element of…Generosity. Pinkie Pie, whose fun nature drived away the scary trees represents the element of….Laughter. Rainbow Dash, who’s unending loyalty to her friends represents the element of…Loyalty. Comet Rider, who’s sense of honour helped end the curse of a ghost knight represents the element of…Honour.”

Nightmare Moon: “You only have six elements, the spark didn’t work!”

I would step forward and smirk as I look at her.

“Well mother, Twilight finally gained the spark when she realised how much she really cares for the girls and I. Which Represents the element of….. Magic!”

The elements would all go on us, our necklaces matching our cutie marks. My own crystal was black in colour. We would all float into the air and shoot a rainbow beam at Nightmare Moon. As she screams the rest of us go unconscious. Waking up a little bit later everypony was ok and rarity even got her tail back. Celestia would soon appear and smile at us”

Celestia: “You have done well my little ponies. Equestria is safe and Luna is restored”

I would look at where Nightmare Moon was and sees my mother in a sort of filly form. I would run over and hug her

“Mother! Your back to normal!”
Luna: “C-comet it’s so good to see you again”

She hugs me back as I would look at the remaining pieces of Nightmare Moon’s armor. I would touch it as Nightmare Moon gives me one last message.

Nightmare Moon: “You may have stopped me my son, but you haven’t changed your fate….ARMAGEDDON WILL RISE!!”

I would shake it off and smile as my aunt and mother reunite, but that message will ring in my head for a while.

Present Day

That day sure did bring back memories that’s for sure. I would watch as my aunt brings out the elements in a box. But when it was opened something was very very wrong….
“IT’S EMPTY?!”
