Country loves techno

DJ gripped the pistol even tighter in his palm. His teeth were grinding so loud, he thought the others could hear. He shot a glance to the human on the floor, out cold. DJ started running scenarios through his head, trying to find a way to make it out without wasting all her ammo, which she found even more precious than him.

He had always been, not scared, but respectful of the woman who lay on the floor. She was far faster than she was, and could stop on a dime, soccer was her sport. She didn't do cheerleading or track. She was in the rodeo. The first time DJ went to one of her events, is when he learned not to fuck with her. As the whistle blew, she and her horse had taken off at incredible speed, but that's not what got DJ. What got him, was at a random point, she jumped off the horse, who was running at full sprint, tackled an animal, threw it to the ground, and tied its legs together in just a few seconds. He knew that she could do that to him at any time. They almost never argued.

DJ kept the sights locked on Twilight, instead of Shining. Sister goes down, he'll get pissed and miss. I'll have a clear shot. But he wasn't going to make the first move. That's when Celestia intervened.

"Enough! All of you!" Her voice boomed, she yanked the pistol from DJ's hands, and her horn ignited, causing the other ponies' to spark, and stop glowing. "These two need medical attention, and you only wish to cause more harm!"

DJ turned to Celestia. "Then get them out of here! For fuck's sake." He leaned over, gently moving his arms under the burned woman. "But I carry her. None of you fuckers dare touch her." He stood up, the woman laying in his arms. He looked down at the burned flesh. Why you?

Cadence stood to her hooves. "I'm fine, just a little sore." She said, obviously in immense pain.

Armor walked past DJ. "No, you're not fine. You're going to the hospital." He said, motioning for Twilight to help carry the alicorn. As the trotted by DJ, who was walking as calmy as possible, they exchanged glanes that said. "Did you see two, too?"

DJ was walking with his eyes fixed ahead. It was hard to see, but if you would have looked close enough at DJ's face, you would be able to see it trembling with hate and anger.

Luna stood next to her sister as the looked through the one way glass. She leaned over. "How is she?"

Celestia raised an eyebrow. "Cadence? Internal bleeding, sone scars, and a decent amount of pain."

Luna shook her head. "No, the other her."

Celestia turned her head, looking at the bed occupied by the human. Her skin was completely black in some places, while others looked untouched. DJ was on his knees by the bed, asleep, his head resting on her stomach, and his hands wrapped around one of hers. "Burns all over, our magic could heal her, and leave very little scar. They have already started treatment. Luckily for her, Cadence was never great with offensive spells, especially under pressure."

Luna nodded, then turned back to looking at the humans. "They recovered the 'Ninja' that came with her. Unlike DJ's vehicle, hers looks to be in relatively good shape. From the looks of it, all the protective gear she had on was very important, just for riding."

Celestia turned to her sister. "How so?"

"DJ's vehicle was enclosed, he was in a cage of sorts. With the 'Ninja,' the rider is out in the open. That's a reason she had on the gear. It is also nothing like DJ's, but you saw that."

A nurse walked up behind the sisters. "Princess Celestia, Princess Luna. I am pleased to inform you that both of them are stable for the moment. Cadence should be able to leave very soon if we keep our treatment up. And... ummm..." the nurse rubbed the back of her head. "What was the name of the other?"

Celestia and Luna exchanged glances. "We don't know. DJ won't tell us, and took her bag before we could get any form of I.D."

"Vert well then. Patient three-zero-B has a long road ahead of her. The major burns are around her torso, arms, and a few minor burns on her face. She will be in pain when she wakes up, but DJ requested he be the first to see her awake, to explain what happened." She looked to Celestia. "By my understanding, he has work tomorrow?"

Celestia shook her head. "I will take with Ms. Hooves, I'm sure she will understand." She turned her head, DJ was dreaming, his body slightly twitching. She turned to Luna. "Sister..."

Luna gave a nod, before her horn ignited, making her vanish.

______________________

Inside the dream, it was nothing but a white void. The only way she knew where DJ was is the way the dream made her mane blow, away from the controller. She extended her wings, thrusting herself towards where DJ should be.

She flew until she saw spinning boxes. They circled around DJ, who just sat down, watching each one. Luna silently flew behind him, watching the images as they flew by. Dates... She thought to herself. DJ put his hand out, stopping the images, he pressed his hand in, starting a video.

"No! Don't delete it!" She pleaded, grabbing DJ's arm, a smile plastered onto her face.

"This game is stupid! You've won, what, fifty times to my three?"

"What about those games you and Mason aways talk about? They sound much more complicated than this, this should be a piece of cake!"

"They're more complex, they're also a ton easier! I see something move, I shoot it! This is... I'm not good with word games..."

     "DJ!'

"Ryan!" DJ stopped the memory, and the images started to circle once again. He let out a sigh. "Game sucked..." he said.

Luna just stared at each image as it passed by. Oh, her name is Ryan? she was lost in thought, she didn't hear a small clicking noise. When she came back to 'reality,' she was staring into a long barrel.

"What are you doing here?" The weapon in DJ's hands was long, a split barrel weapon. The lights on the front depicting the bars. He cliked the button and let go multiple times, forming sparks and small rotating rings. "You don't belong here, not now." He said.

     Luna started pleading. "No! Wait!"

The gun started a small whine, a blue light emmiting from it as well. "Sucks to suck." The weapon shot the projectile at incredible  speeds. Luna was gone. DJ threw the weapon to the ground, and started the next video.

Luna hit the floor with her eyes closed. It didn't hurt this time, it was only one hit. The blast was an instant kill shot, when she looked up, Celestia was leaning over, offering a base for Luna to stand. She slowly rose, and let out a long breath of air. "Her name is Ryan, and they are in a relationship." Luna said.

Before Celestia could speak, the door behind her was thrown open. "Auntie Tia! The guards aren't allowing me to go in the gardens!" He looked past the Princess into the room, his eyes got wide at the second human. "There's two?!"

"Blueblood, this is the reason you can't go in the gardens. We are still trying to look for more parts of her vehicle." The Prince snorted before walking out. Celestia turned to the glass, just as DJ's eyes shot open, a look of fear etched into his face. His dream had turned into a nightmare.

Celestia opened the door to the room. "DJ?" She called.

The room was filled with music, but nothing like what DJ listened to. This had a much more up and out tone to it, an acoustic guitar, and a man with a deep voice. "What." He replied, his eyes never leaving Ryan.

Celestia took in a deep breath. "You are not required to work tomorrow, I will speak with Ms. Hooves." He gave a grunt, signalling he heard her. Celestia listened to the music more. "What is this?"

"Trash. I've always hated country music, with a passion. 'My dog died, so I went to the bar and got drunk, when I came home my wife kicked me out, so I went back to the bar. But this is her favorite song, of all time she says." He smiled and shook his head. "It never made any sense. She likes Taylor Swift, I like Nero. She likes Kenny Chesnee, I like Powerman5000. She likes Reba, I like Eminem."

"Do you two only have musical diffrences?"

DJ shook his head. "She's country, born and raised. The only things that say otherwise are her bike and phone. Me on the other hand, I grew up in technology, a city boy. The only thing for me is my love of trucks, fishin' and huntin'."

Cadence, who just woke, asked a simple question. "If you two have so many differences, how did you to come to be?"

DJ took in a deep breath. "A bet."

Cadence raised an eyebrow. "A bet?"

Luna walked in the room, beside Celestia. "If you are willing, we could project the memory onto the wall?" She suggested.

DJ sighed, looking at the two eager, and one neutral, faces. "Whatever, as long as it don't hurt." He said.

Celestia shook her head. "Not at all, just focus on the memory, and I will project it."

DJ nodded, and an idea formed in his head. I'll make the game look real! As Celestia's horn touched DJ's head, he clipped the memory, allowing only the most important thing to show.

     The M4.

DJ took the binoculars from his eyes, turning to Corben. "They've got a dozen or so foot soldiers, plus a hummer, and two choppers." DJ placed the binoculars in his bag, which was overflowing with LSD.

Tyler crawled up next to DJ. "Should we try Bravo? Seems like every single one of 'em are here."

DJ shook his head. "They have two loaded SUV's there, saw them earlier when I was still sporting the hatchback. What we need, is a distraction."

Tyler nodded. "I'll rob the bank, that should grab their attention."

Corben nodded. "And I took this DMR off a cop earlier, the chopper pilots should be easy if they sit still."

As Tyler got on his motorbike and sped off, DJ reloaded his M4. "Just have to get some.random to try and pass through, they'll do their routine stop, and boom!"

As the two sat in silence, drawing in the sand, DJ didn't expect the next question. "Dude, why don't you ever have a girlfriend?"

     DJ snickered. "Uh, no job?"

"So? Don't be a bitch! You need a girl, dude."

"Really?" Corben gave a nod. "And what makes you think I can just walk up to any girl and get them?"

Corben smiled. "You can't, that's the thing!" He started laughing, before a siren sounded in the distance. Tyler had the money, amd was speeding away. The gates dropped at the checkpoint, and the troop carriers sped off with sirens blaring. Only one chopper and two cops remained.

DJ smiled as he walked over to the white truck. "You just take down the fuckin' chopper, I'll deal with these two."

Corben shrugged, before laying on the ground. DJ drove the vehicle around the small hill, coming up to the checkpoint. He shut his engine off, and his his assault rifle under the seat. "Sir, step out of the vehicle."

"Yes, sir." DJ said, as he opened the door. As he slammed it shut, a bullet ripped through the air, sending the helicopter to the ground in smoke.

"What the he..." The first cop said, before his stomach swallowed three magnum shots. Thw second cop took a single shot to the dome.

"Simple enough." He said, placing the pistol back in the holster.

Corben got in the passenger side of the truck as DJ lowered the gate. As he got in, Corben wore a mischievous grin. "I know..."

DJ frowned as he started the vehicle. "Know what?"

"You know Ryan? I'm seventh hour?"

"Yeah?" He said, running over the cop's remains.

"Her. Tomorrow, before seventh hour, I fucking dare you to ask her out."

DJ laughed. "Man, you know me, I can't just do that."

"You won't, fuckin pussy!" Corben said with a smile.

     "You're right, I won't."

Corben's smile grew bigger. "Fine, I guess I'll just have to..." he looked out the window. "...egg Lil' Red."

"You do it, you'll fuckin' die." DJ said, swerving to miss a random ATV in the road.

"Hey, just for dinner. If you don't, she gets egged."

As the vision collapsed, the faces in the room were all in shock. "You just... killed... your own kind!"

DJ laughed. "It's a game, Arma two, I knew it would get to ya." He let out a happy sigh. "So that happened, and here we are."

     "She accepted?"

A new voice filled the room, raspy, in pain, and feminine. "Yes..." DJ turned to look at Ryan, who still hadn't opened her eyes. "And it was the worst date ever!" Next Chapter: Love is like a bet Estimated time remaining: 2 Hours, 26 Minutes
