Chapter Three: Deepground

The sunlight shone through the window and onto areas of the bedroom; including Vincent’s face which woke him up. After putting on his clothes he walked out onto the balcony overlooking all of Canterlot. Vincent just stood there taking in the peace and tranquillity of the morning. That was quickly interrupted by an explosion. Vincent looked around for the source of the noise and saw that it came from the street. He could see ponies running from something but he could not tell what. There was a faint whirring which got louder and louder until Vincent knew exactly what it was. Helicopters; more specifically Deepground helicopters; 3 of them came overhead and started firing missiles at different areas of the city. The only things that could be heard now were gunfire and explosions.

There was another whirring noise which got closer and closer to Vincent; he noticed that a Deepground heli spotted him and was going in for the kill. Vincent reached for his gun and was ready to fight the chopper.

The chopper was literally a meter away from his face; he could hear the sound of a minigun barrel turning giving him the signal to move. He dodged and hid behind a wall. The gun ripped apart the room. It stopped to cool down; Vincent took that opportunity to put a few holes into the heli. There was another sound; rockets. Vincent narrowly dodged the rockets and shot the chopper again.  ***Stop listening***

The fight lasted a good ten minutes before the chopper took too much damaged and crashed into the mountain. With the helicopter out of the way Vincent started to look through the other rooms for Twilight. Room after room was searched but he found nothing. Suddenly a noise caught his attention; a blood curdling scream. Vincent ran towards the source of the noise and ended up in the foyer. What he saw made him angry… VERY angry.

Twilight was on the floor in a small pool of blood with Celestia by her side; she was crying.

Vincent walked up to her and said one word.

“Where?”

Celestia looked up to him and was barely able to speak.

“Ou..out th..th..there” She pointed to the main entrance.

He walked up to the doors and literally kicked them off their hinges sending the two grand doors flying. Vincent walked out there and was immediately surrounded by Deepground soldiers; their guns aimed directly at him. A long deep laugh followed.

“Lower your guns men. I’ve got this”

The soldiers did exactly as ordered and lowered their weapons. A pure black puff of smoke covered the area in front of Vincent. When it cleared; someone he never though he would see again was standing there.

“Nero”

“Well you remember me; isn’t that nice”

He unsheathed his sword and placed the tip right on Vincent’s neck. Nero laughed again.

“It appears that I have the upper hand”

Suddenly a voice came out of nowhere.

“Oh no you don’t”

Then a large shuriken like object came from the right of Vincent knocking the sword out of Nero’s hand.

“Open fire! Kill him!”

The soldiers started firing at him but some sort of shield was protecting Vincent from harm.

It was Princess Celestia; she was using her magic to form a barrier around him.

The voice spoke again.

“Fire!” Rockets started firing from the castle walls killing a large amount of Deepground. Vincent finished off the rest with ease.

(Oh yeah and Nero Disappeared in the confusion)

Vincent knew exactly who the voice belonged to; it was… “Yuffie?”

The girl jumped out right in front of Vincent with a smirk on her face.

“The one and only”

“Wait Yuffie how did you get here?”

“Oh you’ll see”

Yuffie had this device on her right arm which she aimed to the sky and pressed a button on it which sent a blue beam into the sky; shortly after an extremely large blue orb appeared and out of it came…

Airships; WRO airships. They were coming out of the orb. By the time it closed there were at least 40 airships. Vincent was too busy looking at the airships to notice that there was one above him.

“HEY VINCENT!”

Vincent looked up and saw the airship hovering just above.

“It’s me Cid listen; there is too many of those bastards down there, we’re gonna need some extra help if we’re going to kill these guys, head to the main plaza. Cloud is there with Barret they’re protecting some of the civilians from Deepground. I’m not sure if they can hold out for much longer”.

Vincent nodded and ran off to the plaza with Yuffie in tow.

While Vincent and Yuffie were heading towards Cloud and Barret; Cid seemed to be having the time of his life firing at the Deepground soldiers.

“Hot damn another one bites the dust”

Cid has a passion for shooting the shit out of everything Deepground. Whenever he sees something of theirs he can’t help but shoot it.

It didn’t take Vincent long to reach the plaza due to his augmented body. When he got there he saw Cloud and Barret surrounded by hundreds of Deepground soldier bodies. They saw Vincent and walked up to him.

“Vincent where have you been man? Never mind about that I just got a call from Cid saying that Weiss has been seen at a town called Ponyville”

Vincent took a step back and clenched his fists.

“Weiss”

“From all we know he is the reason that Deepground is here and that all deaths here are his fault”

Vincent’s eyes widened and he got angry.

“WEISS!”

He screamed before beginning to turn into the beast within… Chaos.

He then flew off in the direction of Ponyville.
