Chapter 3: The memory

The memory

Rainbow Dash has always considered herself a fast Pegasus. Her ego was fed by the Sonic Rainboom like a flame fed by lighter fluid. That Rainboom was probably the biggest accomplishment in her life. Speed, agility and strength, her main skills. Why she prided herself beyond belief she always told herself "Be a little modest" in the back of her mind. Rainbow dash sat in the clouds, not care in the world. She sat her eyes closed front hooves behind her head, trying to remember the rhythm of a song she had heard at one of Pinkie's parties. The only thing that brought her our of this semi-sleep state of minor humming was a large flash in the distance towards Twilight Sparkle's library.

Bronze was in one word amused. Getting out of the train was...painful to say the least. But thankfully pain medication exists. Bronze couldn't quite walk, and wouldn't for a while, but for now he would master levitation. The looks on the faces of the ponies who saw him was to him priceless. Every time somepony gave him the same odd confused and awed look he would begin to laugh, some of Celestia's guards also found this amusing. Even Celestia herself let out a little giggle or even just a slight smile.

While there was still a slight pain, Bronze just didn't think about it. His injuries and illnesses didn't seem so bad when he was laughing.
"You have very odd sense of humor" one of the guards said.
"Indeed' Celestia said in between giggles
"I know, I know" Bronze joked.

When the group arrived at the castle, Bronze began coughing uncontrollably. Soon he found himself in a nice very comfortable queen sized bed. He thanked the medical group responsible that. Within a few minutes Celestia was in the room he was in.
"I am not sure I trust your story quite yet" She said
"Still?" Bronze asked weakly in a near whisper, his voice had become raspy again.
"Yes"
"Okay Princess...please come here" He said slipping off his necklace "Wear this again"
"Not that control trick"
"Just trust me"
Celestia sighed then put the necklace on. Bronze stared directly into her eyes, then she saw it all.

Celestia saw Ponyvile 60 years from now. It was stripped of all love, all joy. All she saw was a depressive near prison. Males and Females split into different closed gated zones. She saw large black pony-shaped beings. Their faces covered by a pure white V shaped glass on their helmets. She saw this all through Bronze's eyes. Bronze's past, he was marching in a line of other males to a large stone building with smoke coming from the very top of large pipe like chimneys. The females were marching next to them, they were separated by a change-link fence. When one male went crazy near the front of the line and yelled "I can't take this anymore!" The entire line halted to watch him try and run for his freedom. There were loud explosive cracks somewhere behind Bronze and then the male that had tried to run collapsed on the ground. Dead. Bronze looked over at the female line to see....Twilight Sparkle. In a single word she looked...older. Small streaks of gray had begun to enter her hair. She had multiple scars across her stomach and chest, visible even while she was simply standing on all fours. Twilight handed bronze a very small piece of paper. He rolled it and hid the paper in his mouth. Being sure not to swallow it.

Hours later. In the male Barracks, during a period called 'Lights out', Bronze read the note. Its contents not affect by spit.

Dear Bronze

I have thought about you ever since we met while trying to escape. In this day and age I have never in my life seen someone who was smarter, stronger, or more clever than you. I need you with me. Now get your head out of the gutter. I mean with the rebellion. You see have a plan, that gem you found put it on the gold chain I gave you days ago. Then get out of the barracks and meet me at the hut we hid in when we both escaped before.

After attaching the gem to the gold chain he slipped it over his head. And simply imagined himself outside Ponyvile in the hut in the Everfree forest. In a flash of a second he was there. Twilight had already arrived and was sitting in a dusty old chair.

"Hello Bronze"

"Hello Twilight Sparkle"

"I need you"

"Your old enough to be my grandmother"

Twilight sighed and chuckled "Get your mind out of the gutter, I need you to do something that would change the world we live in, forever"
"What would that be?"
"Go back in time, save Celestia. Memorize that name. Save Princess Celestia!"
The memory faded.

Celestia as Bronze took back his necklace. He slowly put it back on himself.
"Do you believe me now?"
1 hour later.
Twilight sat in her home. Spike still asleep in the mid morning. She was reading a book, when there was a knock on the door. When she opened it stood a hooded pony. Her voice was dark and in near whisper.
"Twilight Sparkle?"
"er...Yes? How may I assist you?"
The pony brought up her front right leg. She wore a devices on that leg like a long metal sleeve she un-did a latch with her teeth and a long black shot out.
"Come with me now!" she shouted.
Twilight took a few steps back.
"No" She near whispered eyes on the blade.
"Come with me now Twilight!"
"No"
The hooded female leap at Twilight blade still out. Not trying to stab or cut but to grab. The hooded pony got a hold of Twilight's hair in her teeth and gave a hard jerk. This made Twilight scream in pain.
Through clenched teeth the hooded pony whispered into another device on her left front leg. "I am gonna need help with this one!"
Just then many more hooded figures entered the library. Twilight shot off a random spell from her horn. It broke a window and blew in mid air creating a large blinding flash. Although it didn't matter. Twilight was already captured.
