Chapter 9

Act 1-9

Nick has been working all week to find the serial killer he's been chasing after. But there's something to this case, and now the whole team is involved. This is it, the final case to catch the killer. Drew and Helena are still away in Griffonia, the newly formed Democracy, still mending relationships between them and the Griffons.

Griffonia

"Alright, so why do you have us in our MJOLNIR Armor?" Drew asked. General Stormwing laughed and explained.

"We are simply testing, comrade. Since we have been inventing new technology, we needed test subjects. So, we had you and your girlfriend be our test subjects." Helena blushed, Drew smirked under his helmet.

"I'm sorry, but we're not a couple. I'm a married man General." He replied, the General just chuckled and went behind a blast shield.

"Alright Helena, we have 4x overshield, so you shouldn't be able to feel a thing." Drew comforted her. Drew and Helena stood there, in their MJOLNIR Armor, and were living test subjects for new weapons.

"Y'know, *ZAP!* this isn't *CRACK!* that bad. *BOOM!*" Drew said, Helena grunted as a response. Even though they were in fully operational Spartan Suits, it still kind of hurt.

"Alright, alright, enough! How are you holding up comrade? Are you alright?" After five minutes the General told them to cease fire. Drew and Helena got up, and they were holding their aching parts.

"I think, you should just stick with the conventional guns General." Drew coughed. Helena thought likewise and she took off her helmet. General Stormwing thought the same, and followed Drew and Helena to the meeting room.

"Perhaps we should leave the weapon inventing to the Equestrians. If MJOLNIR armor can't take it, I can't imagine the destruction it could bring in the wrong hands." He mumbled to himself.

Ponyville

"Oh no." Nick realized what happened. The serial killer on the loose has kidnapped Rainbow for a 500,000,000 Bit ransom. Nick did NOT want to tell Drew this, but he had no other choice.

"WHAT?! Okay, I'll be there as soon as I can." Drew reappeared right next to Nick. Drew was still in his MJOLNIR Armor, and he was pissed.

"Whoever stole Rainbow is gonna get his ass sent to the moon!" Drew never actually sent anyone to the moon, but he had the power to be able to, he just was too lazy to actually pull it off. Nick put on his fedora once more, and went to the supposed killer's hideout. It was dark, rainy, and the storm didn't look like it was going to let up anytime soon. There was like a small army of mercenaries around the house.

"Alright Nick, I'll hold off the mercs, you need to get inside and catch your culprit." Drew then pulled a Leeroy Jenkins, with a Desert Eagle in one hand and an assault rifle in the other. Nick snuck around the side, avoiding any engagements. The serial killer has been toying with Nick for far too long, and he went and held one of his best friends for ransom.
(Music)

"Rainbow? Are you in here?" He heard a maniacal laugh around the corridor, Nick went down into the basement, and he found out it was a labyrinth. Rainbow's muffled screams could be heard down the hall, Nick had made it just in time. The killer, in which was completely unidentifiable, was about to slit Rainbow's throat. Nick fired a shot at the knife, and the knife fell to the ground. The killer made a run for it, but Nick stayed behind and untied Rainbow.

"Now you go to the surface and meet up with Drew, he came all the way from Griffonia to help rescue you." Rainbow nodded, she surprisingly only had a cut under her left eye, the killer didn't do anything to her other than that. Rainbow noticed a Battle Dress Uniform hanging on a coat hanger, she put that on and grabbed a gun lying on the counter.

"Rainbow! it's good to see that you're okay!" They embraced in a hug, and Drew shot a guy that was trying to ruin their moment.

"Drew, you're kinda suffocating me here." She wheezed, Drew let go of her and they were back to back, to be more exact back to flank.

"All ready to fuck some shit up?" Drew loaded a fresh magazine into his Desert Eagle.

"Make way for the rape train because it don't stop for nopony!" She replied, they both charged head in into the crowd of mercenaries, and they were no chance against the rape train that was Drew and Rainbow.

"Alright, give it up! Come out and come peacefully and I won't have to kill you." He then heard a maniacal laugh, and then what seemed to be the sound of a blowtorch, a very big blowtorch.

"I'm already a dead man, it doesn't make a difference that if you kill me now. We're both gonna die anyways!" He laughed, Nick looked at his revealed face. It was a crazed stallion, and had that crazy twitch in his eye like when Pinkie goes mad. Nick chased after him in the underground labyrinth, and the closer he got the farther he looked away from Nick. He got to a step ladder, and Nick was forced to give a warning shot. The serial killer named, Serial, stepped down and got on the ground.

"Alright, I'll come peacefully." He pulled a pin, and that pin belonged to a now live grenade. Nick left Serial to his fiery death because the walls were lined with gas pipes. Nick got to the door before the whole house burst into flames, but the explosion severely scorched Nick. The burns were so bad it was to the point where his flesh was pink, and his outside skin was charred black.

"Nick! NNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Drew ran over to Nick, and held his now severely burned and wounded body in his arms.

"*cough* It's okay, I believe in Heaven... I'll buy you... *cough* a drink when you meet me up there..." He faded away.

"No! No! No! No! No! No! Don't die on me buddy! Nick, you gotta stay with me! Nick?" Drew started to break down in tears, he closed his eyes and took his dogtags.

"Why don't you fix him with your Alicorn magic?" Rainbow suggested.

"It doesn't work like that, Rainbow. I can't bring him back. His soul has left his body, and time travel is out of the question too. It would be selfish of me, plus it could rip a hole in the space time continuum."

"Oh, I'm so sorry." Rainbow started crying too, which made Drew even more sad. Drew then stood back up, taking off his helmet, and his hair overshadowing his eyes to where you can't see them.

"I need some time alone, dear. Though our fight together was pretty swag if I do say so myself." Drew tried to smirk, but couldn't. Rainbow gave a nervous laugh, not knowing if she should be laughing or not. Drew had informed the others about the death of their team mate, they were all devastated.

"If only I was there to help him!" Kaptn punched the wall. Drew shook his head.

"No, that explosion would've killed you both. I could've been there though, but there were just too many mercs, and I was almost overrun." Drew felt even more ashamed of himself.

A few days later... In the Chapel room
(Listen to this)
(Also, think of this as a narrative in Drew's voice, but it isn't in his perspective)

"We are all here to honor the great sacrifice that one of the best soldiers I knew gave for the well being of the ponies of Equestria. That soldier/detective, was Nick Churchill, personally one of my best friends since childhood. He was a great man, and he will be forever in our hearts, and most importantly, he was family. If anyone would like to share their thoughts, please make your way towards the podium." Nopony made a move, but when Drew announced that if anyone would want to pay their respects, to do it now.

"We'll miss you bud." Drew patted his hand on the coffin, and left a single red rose by his nameplate. Jhon put the full sized American Flag over Nick's coffin. They then brought the casket into the royal graveyard, in which Drew had a new section dug out for Nick. The people and ponies who attended threw flowers as the casket went deeper and deeper into the ground, and to make matters worse it was gloomy, and rainy. Drew and Jhon lifted the flag off of the coffin before it went into the ground. Twilight came over and stuck a gravestone in the ground, where it read this.

General Nickolas Churchill
Friend, Family Member, Soldier, Detective
2131-2167

Drew left a little bit early, and so did Princess Celestia, probably going to try and comfort him. Drew sat down on the edge of his balcony, where he was still crying over the loss of his best friend.

"I'm sorry for your loss, cousin." She sat down a little bit farther from the edge, but she was still next to him.

"It's okay Princess. It's just hard to cope with y'know?" She nodded silently.

"Drew, you do know that you'll be seeing the death of every one of your friends, right?" Drew nodded, he knew of the consequences of being an Alicorn, which meant a very long life span.

"Yes, I do. They'll never be replaced, but I will be making new friends as old ones come and go. You taught me that." He sniffed.

"That is true, old friends can never be replaced, but you make new ones along the way as you get older. You're still very young, even though you're only part Alicorn, you'll probably stay alive as long as I will. And my life is only just beginning." Drew's eyes widened, but then he perked up.

"Thank you, for the talk I mean." He hugged his cousin, and left the room.

"You act like you're but only a mere child sometimes. When you fall down, you get right back up. As if it didn't happen at all." She told herself. Drew then happily skipped into the courtyard, and everyone but Pinkie Pie was still in a bad mood.

"C'mon guys! We can't mourn forever, Nick wouldn't want that." Drew said, and everybody's mood just got that much better. Everypony left to go eat lunch, but Drew came back moments after they all left.

"I'll see you 'round, Drew. I'll be looking after you, from up here." Drew looked around and nopony was there. He then ran back to try and catch up with his friends.
