About to puncture my throat with his horn, Shadow was immediately scorched by a flame across his chest dropping me on my wounded side.

"LEAVE HIM ALONE!" Ditzy shouted with Valkyria beside her with a bat in her wing.

"Oh, how weak is this? Graze is going to be saved by his marefriend? How weak can you get?" Shadow stomped on my detached winsg and twisted it with his hoof ripping more veins apart. Releasing tension on my wing, he watched the mare and dragon and slowly progressed towards them. "Remember when I told you I was going to kill you first?" He said watching me, "I lied."

There was a snow ball's chance in hell that I was ever going to let that happen.

There was nothing left for me to feel, most of my blood was gone and my vision was going blurry but yet, I still needed to protect her. Crawling on my hooves, I gripped onto every piece of dirt I could have, every blade of grass as I used it to pull my body closer and closer to Shadow. All that I had left behind was a trail of blood through my crawling in my last breaths.

Before he even touched Ditzy, I held onto his hind leg with all hope and life trying to prevent any further movement. "Fucking pathetic." Shadow watched me once more but this time, completely ripped off my right wing with his magic. I wanted to scream but, I had no more will nor energy to. Even if I wanted to, my mouth was dripping with blood.

"I SAID LEAVE HIM ALONE!" *POW* Breaking itself in the process, Ditzy took a full swing of the wooden bat upon Shadow's face sending it to the limitations of his neck.

"Why you little bitch," he cursed bringing his attention to the mare in front of him. "I'm gonna enjoy killing you." He rose a hoof about to punch. "WHA- WHAT'S GOING ON?!" He shouted as his hoof was restrained. Looking down, he saw many vines as they wrapped themselves around him preventing him from any movement.

"GET OUT OF THERE DITZY!" Vinetion shouted from afar, "I CAN ONLY HOLD HIM FOR SO LONG!"

Quickly making her way towards me, Ditzy used her mouth holding onto my black shirt as she dragged me. "I'VE GOT YOU GRAZE! HOLD ON!"

Fading in and out, black and white, the voices heard were so muffled as not a single word was understood. But, I knew it was her."You...You came? I thought..."

"Save it Graze! We need to get you some help fast!" She said rather strongly, but then, I felt something liquid other than blood, I felt something wet fell upon my face. A tear. "Just please! Please stay alive! PLEASE!"

"I....I'm sorry...." I said with my eyes half closed.

"No! Graze stay up! We're halfway there! Don't go yet!" She shouted as she dragged my near lifeless body.

Through my vision, I saw Shadow massacre through the vines as he ripped through them with only more appearing to restrain. Being pissed as he was, he didn't want any survivors. He rampaged through the vines and galloped heading towards us.

"Oh buck, he's going to make it!" Aroma said with her hooves covering her mouth.

An evil smile upon his face, he was now on the offensive making his way towards the slowly moving couple. No pony else could have helped, they were either too exhausted or controlling Stallord which was earthed to one spot.

"Leave me here....Thi...this is all my fault...Run now..."

"I'M NOT LEAVING YOU BEHIND GRAZE! WE'RE GOING TO MAKE IT!" Ditzy continued dragging my body but with a bit more haste.

"I....I don't have much blood left...I'm going to die anyways..."

"NO YOU'RE NOT!" She shouted looking back at Shadow and me. "WE'RE GOING TO LIVE A LONG LIFE TOGETHER GRAZE! I PROMISE!" It was too late for promises though, five seconds left and everypony's death would have been on my hooves. Slowly counting down in my head, I gratefully awaited for Shadow to put me out of my misery. At this point at time, I had given up, I was going to lose it all anyways.

Five. Four. Three. Two. One.

*POW* Wait. What?

"NICE ONE CHASER!" Omnius shouted galloping onto the field with the other teachers.

"That was payback for my snout bitch!" Chaser exclaimed looking at Shadow's body pitch halfway across the field as he cracked his neck.

"Grim and the rest of you, take Graze to the infirmary!" Cross instructed  immediately watching the situation at hoof, "We will be there in five minutes! Do everything you can to keep him alive!"

Teleporting us all away, we were now in Cross' office as I laid upon a bed soaking the clean sheets with blood. "Just hold on buddy! We're gonna fix you up!" Grim said looking at the one winged pegasus.

Even in my last few minutes of death, I chuckled with a tear coming from my eye. "Heh, w-we did it? W-we held him off?"

"Yup, it's up to the teachers now." Everyone nodded with tears in their eyes as they watched me smile laying my head peacefully on the pillow as I slowly closed my eyes finally able to rest.

"Graze?" Ditzy looked at me with that smile.

"....."

"Gr-Graze?" She began to tear up from hearing no response.

"......"

"GRAZE WAKE UP! WAKE UP! PLEASE WAKE UP!" Ditzy began to shake my body for any sign of life and then laid her head upon my chest trying to hear any sign of a heartbeat desperate for a response.

"I can't sense Kill or Joy anymore," Charge said to himself.

Not knowing what that meant, Shadow Mark as well as rest of the other teachers looked at him confused as Shadow got up on his four hooves. "And what does that suppose to mean now?"

"It means I have the license to kill." Charge's shadow then moved by itself as a certain pony appeared from it.

"You ready Slender?"

*Ba-bump* A single sign of life. A single sign of hope.
