Los Pegasus College
Chapter 15: November Snows And Rainbow Glows
Previous Chapter Next ChapterAh, November. The month where the fricking freezing weather eats you up, leaving no cold and no place uncovered with snow. The rain has been switching to sleet, and then slipping into having the structure, and temperature, of snow. November 7th was the day of snow. Literally, the college was overwhelmed with snow... Which sucked because Dash hated going outside even though her clothes made her toasty. The indoor park was wired to be set at the same temperature as outside, and same weather. No parties in there, since it was covered in snow.
"Hey Dash wanna go outside-"
"No." Dash was on the couch, wrapped in about six layers of blankets. Yet, she was still shivering.
"You're still cold?" You asked, while putting on a jacket.
"Well duh. You aren't?!"
"I'm actually a bit warm in this jacket." Maybe, just maybe...
"My jacket! I'm freezing!" She popped her arms out of her blankets, trying to grab you even if you were at the door and she was on the couch. You smiled and walked over to her, plopping onto the couch. Wrapping your arms around her, Dash sighed, "Your jacket, not actually you."
"I'm not appreciated? I'm sad, Dashie." You hugged her tighter, your smile getting wider.
"Don't call me that, only Pinks can call me that."
"Why? Is she special or something? Really special?" Dash couldn't escape if she tried, all those covers plus you wrapped around her was too much.
"Stop, seriously. I've been there before."
"Oh whoa whoa whoa! You're-" Your hopes died down, your smile fading along with your tight grasp.
"Was. I'm past that, bro." She closed her eyes, placing her head on your shoulder.
"So you and Pinkie... I can't believe that. I refuse to believe that." You took your right arm out from under Dash and rubbed your temple, processing it.
"Believe it. Pinkie and I dated, and that's why I still let her call me Dashie. That's why I got mad at her when she kissed you; It reminded me of when we broke up. Actually, she broke up with me."
"My brain hurts, Dash."
"Mine does too. I'm going to fall asleep." She closed her eyes and let her chest move up and down through her fluid breathing.
"Wait!" You said, poking her in the chest. Which might've or might not have been appropriate.
"What?" She murmured as she slapped your hand that basically assaulted her.
"You had any other... Um... Female relationships I should know about?" By Celestia I hope not.
"AJ, Fluttershy." As soon as Dash said that, you choked on air.
"WHAT?!"
"Hm?" Her breathing slowed down as if she was asleep, but she was still talking to you.
"I... Have a nice nap." You disregarded it, and let Dash fall asleep. Even you fell asleep eventually, but jolted back awake to the feeling of a leg wrapped lightly around yours.
"Dash..?" Silence, "Um... Dash?"
The leg got tighter and she twisted around, her nose touching yours. You weren't quite sure how you felt about that, since she was asleep and all... You decided to poke her, even resorting to one awkward thing.
"It's for the best." You grabbed Dash's hand and massaged it, making her sit up instantly.
"Don't. You. Dare." She held up her left hand in a fist, as her right hand was being massaged by you.
"You're hands are soft. Can I keep rubbing them?" I think I know the answer.
"No. You know what happens if you touch my hands." She frowned at you, shivering, "Now let go."
"But they're so soooooffft!" You said, as she tried to jerk away.
"Stop, Celestia dammit!" The back of her fist slammed against your face, making you release her hand, "Ha."
"But they were soft, Dashie!"
"1. That sounds perverted. 2. No!" She made her legs slip from under her when she got to stand on her bed, arms crossed and a pout. Don't forget the angry face, that made it overall adorable.
"You're so adorable!" You shout, frustrated, "Stop being so cute!"
"What? I'm cute? Oh really now." She turned her pout into a smirk, and uncrossed her arms.
"Yes, Dash. You're too cute for me to handle."
"The kid-cute or hot-cute?" Her smirk had the probability to kill you, it was so... Hot.
"Dash, will you-" Pinkie burst through the door, shouting Dash's name. Be my girlfriend...
"We need to talk, Dashie!" Pinkie shouted, a serious look on her face.
"Okay?" The two girls walked over to Pinkie's room, and you put your ear to the wall like you did with their argument.
"Dashie, I miss you."
"Huh? We see each other, like, everyday at school or your parties."
"No, Dashie. I miss you as in I miss when we were together."
"Oh. Pinkie, I'm not..." Dash started, "I'm not like that anymore, Pinks."
"But..."
"I'm not saying no, Pinkie. Just think about it a bit longer. You left me because I was too controlling, you want to go through that again?" Dash started to turn around, frowning.
"I thought! I'm ready, Dashie!"
"No, think." Dash walked out of the room, and back into hers. She belly flopped onto her bed, sighing. You quickly removed your ear from the wall before Dash noticed, giving an awkward poker face.
"What was that about?"
"I prefer not to talk about it." She rolled onto her back, staring over at you, "What were you gonna ask me?"
"Will you get out of your covers and come outside?" I'm a lowly coward.
"Nope." She slipped her feet under her blankets, poking her head out the top. An announcement started through the speakers that were implanted in the walls.
"Female volleyball tryouts in ten minutes, indoors. Come to the gym." Bonbon's voice cheerfully said, making Dash swipe off her blankets and run to the closet, pulling out blue shorts and a white t-shirt.
"What are you doing, exactly?" You questioned Dash as she ripped off her three layers of clothing, putting on the athletic-type outfit.
"Trying out for volleyball, why else would I be wearing a volleyball uniform?" She put her hair up in a sloppy ponytail, and somehow grabbed a volleyball out of thin air. She volleyed it upwards and gravity made it push back down, the same process repeating over and over again.
"You're cold in millions of covers, but when you get into that uniform where your arms and up to your thighs are exposed, you're alright?"
"Yup. I'm gonna go to the gym, you can watch if you'd like." You yawned when Dash said this, but smiled at her next remark, "There's lots of chicks there with really exposing shirts and pants."
"I'm in!" You followed Dash out the door and down the stairs, entering the gym that was technically a separate building.
There was a lot of girls, wearing the same thing as Dash. All were athletic except Twilight, who seemed to be off onto the stage, reading. She was obviously forced to try out. All the girls were called over to the coach, and slowly walked over. As she passed, you looked at her backside. Her back was arched enough to be considered not too much posture or not slouching.
"So, ladies! There is, I don't know... 20 of you?" An older male with dark blue hair asked, smiling at the 'ladies'.
"21, actually." Twilight was one of the shorter girls in the group, or acted like it. She's barely smaller than Dash, but her confidence is zero.
"Whatever. We can only have eight. Five for our team, and three for backup incase our players get hurt," He looked at Dash, who was listening attentively, "Dash, I heard you got into a little... Fight last week."
"Oh that... It wasn't much of a fight. It was more of an attempted murder." She said, rubbing her shoulder. Her shoulder healed up a while ago, and didn't bleed on pressure.
"We can't have you getting into those type of situations if you make the team." He pointed to the left side of the net, "Everyone who thinks they can make it, move over there."
Nineteen out of twenty-one moved, Twilight and Lyra staying on the right, "You girls, why don't you think you can make it?"
"I'm doing it to get out of cooking." Lyra said, slowly walking over to the left, "The practices are in the time of that stupid class."
"Lyra Heartstrings, you're out." The coach said, frowning.
"Meh. I'll go try out for swimming." She said while stomping to the door.
"Now there's twenty." He turned back to Twi, "Why don't you think you can make it?"
"I'm... Not very confident."
"Get over to the left side."
"Alright." You watched Twi walk over to the left side, and the tryouts actually beginning. They simply went in pairs of two, one on each side of the net. The ball volleyed, bumped or got served over the net. Dash was really good at volleying an bumping, but her serves weren't ideal. The coach walked over to her and from behind, he grabbed her wrists, showing her how to do it properly. Dash just blushed from the closeness, and a pang of envy hit you in your stomach.
"Now you try it, Dash." He said, and Dash served the ball. It was perfect, "Good job."
"Thanks Soarin'." Soarin', eh?
The girls were paired up and split into groups, four fives. Soarin' explained how the winners of their own game were going to play another game, together. The people who work the hardest were going to get picked, but he didn't say that. Dash was in a group with Twi, AJ and two other girls.
"Ah'll serve." AJ went to the back, and you stared at her thighs. Dammit, I'm acting like the perv that was staring at Octavia and Trixie.
The other team volleyed it over, towards Twilight. She moved to the right, sliding away from the ball. The ball smashed against the ground, and Dash sighed.
"Here Twi..." She wrapped around Twilight and did the same thing Soarin' did, except with bumping.
"But that hurts my wrists..."
"Don't use your wrists, use this fleshy bone thingy that is under your thumb." Dash said, and released.
"Okay, I got it. Thanks Dash."
This time, Dash served and it went over instantly. One to one. Someone from the other team served, making the ball bump repeatedly over the net. AJ jumped up and spiked it, getting another point for her team. This went on and on until Dash's team reached the max point of five. The other game was quickly finished, and the winners went together into a different game. Soarin' wrote down two names and looked back up, surveying the girls.
"So, you know who's gonna be on the team?" You asked Soarin' who shrugged.
"I only have three out of eight girls written down. Dash is a sure, I mean, have you seen her ass?" He smirked, not looking up from his clipboard.
"Yeah, I have-" You furrowed your brows in confusion, "Dude... Aren't you like, ten years older than her?"
"Nah, I'm only two years older than her." He quickly sketched down another name.
"I'm guessing you enjoyed helping her with that serve, then?"
"The only reason I helped her is because she's hot. Why are you asking so many questions?" Soarin' looked up at you, finally.
"No reason." You walked away as the final game ended, Dash's team winning again.
"Okay girls, feel free to socialize with each other while I finish choosing people." He scribble two names, having two left now.
"So far, I have... Dash, Applejack, Emerald, Aloe, Lotus and Twilight." Soarin' said, making Aloe and Lotus squeal in happiness. Dash and AJ brofisted, and Twilight gave a confused look to Soarin'.
"Why Aloe and Lotus?" You questioned Soarin', knowing the answer.
"Because they're hot, and decent enough at volleyball." He whispered back to you, then wrote down two other girl names and called them out, "Sorry you others, you almost made it!"
Everyone that didn't make it exited, and the eight girls went to Soarin' to get their uniform; which was a white t-shirt with royal blue trim, and some royal blue shorts. Everyone left, including you and Dash. As you reached the dorm, another announcement came on for swimming, and Dash smiled widely again
