Los Pegasus College
Chapter 11: Preparation Day
Previous Chapter Next ChapterYou were glad that Pinkie and Dash were friends again, even if you constantly had to pry Pinkie from suffocating Dash in hugs. All was well, and Dash didn't listen to your conversation from the other room. You told her that at the party you felt as if it was romantic, so kissed her for no reason... Lies are what separated Dash and Pinkie. Wait, Dash wasn't listening... Right?
"Hey dude. Hey, hey dude." Dash poked your back.
"What?" You poked her back, but in the stomach. Her laugh made you smile, because it was so adorable.
"So what were you talking about when you got Rarity, Applejack, Fluttershy and even Twilight into Pinkie's room?" She poked you back, challenging you.
"Nothing. Nothing at all." Since when did I start lying so much?
"Tell me..!" Dash pouted.
"Nope."
"Right, cause you weren't talking. You were probably making out with Rarity or something." She looked up at you with her pout, making you die a little.
"No! Nothing like that, Dash. I wish I could tell you. Actually, only Pinkie and I were in the room when I said the thing I can't tell you."
"Dammit. That leaves the honest AJ out from my planning." She stuck out her tongue, your life regaining.
"I'm hungry." You picked up your phone, looking in your contacts. The jingle was stuck in your head, but you clicked on the contact instead. Pizza Nova has best pizza.
"Who ya calling?" Dash stood the perfect height to start resting her chin on your shoulder.
"Pizza Nova."
"Good. Pizza Nova has best pizza." You snuck your hand behind Dash and poked her back, making her yelp.
"Surprise poke!" You yelled, accidentally pushing the call button.
"I am so gonna get you." She looked at your phone and expertly hid her smirk, "Faster!"
"Wait wha-" She covered her hand over your mouth, making your words sound like grunts.
"Oh my Celestia, keep going!"
"What the hell, Dash?" You mumbled.
"Excuse me. I think you misdialed us here at Pizza Nova." A guy said, as your eyes widen and you slapped away Dash's arm, making her laugh hysterically.
"No, no, no, no. Just my roommate pranking me. I didn't realize I pressed call, but she did." You quickly explained.
"JOE. HURRY UP WITH THE ORDER!" A female shouted, "You know what? I'll take it."
"Hello you've reached Pizza Nova may I take your order?" She brightly said.
"One large cheese pizza, please." You were thinking through some names that fit the voice, but none matched. Haven't met her before.
"Will do. Will you pick it up?"
"YUP!" Dash shouted.
"Um... Okay then. Thank you for calling." She hung up quickly, leaving you to think about her as a rude person.
"Let's go!" Dash weaved her arm between yours as you put your phone in your pocket. She walked through the dorm door, closing and locking it. It was busy downstairs, as people were leaving to eat. Such as you and Dash. She smiled and as soon as she stepped of the last stair, and she loudly started singing, "I'm a model; if you know what I mean, and I do my little turn on the catwalk. Yeah, on the catwalk, yeah, I do my little turn on the catwalk." That's where I got this clutching arm thingy from...
"By Celestia that song is hilarious!" Someone says, slapping their knee as Dash comes to a halt with her singing.
"Seriously, Dash?" You let go of her arm and roll your eyes.
"First song that popped into my head." She reduced to a whisper, "I am too sexy for my shirt, too sexy for my shirt. So sexy it hurts."
"I want to slap you so badly." You actually had the urge to do so.
"You wouldn't dare touch my awesome face." She walked towards the Pizza Nova that was beside the place you and Fluttershy went to.
"I don't see awesome-face." You poked her shoulder. She then shifted her eyes to one side, opening her mouth wide. She created awesome-face, "Now I see it."
She opened the door and shut it in your face, her inside and you outside.
"Why didn't you just say," You looked up and placed the back of your hand to your forehead, "I hate you now get out of my face before I mess up yours?"
"Shut up." She said, opening the glass door and shutting it when you got inside.
"Are you the large cheese pizza order?" The girl behind the counter said.
"Yep." Dash smiled, taking a pizza that was on the counter.
"OH MY CELESTIA RAINBOW DASH!" A child's voice echoed through the shop, and then a ten year old girl with short, purple hair hugged Dash's leg.
You were about to call assault when Dash started, "Scoots?"
"YES, RAINBOW DASH?"
"Watcha doin' in Los Pegasus?" Dash tapped the girl's head with her right hand while holding the pizza box with the left.
"I FOLLO-" She coughed and quieted down, "My parents are on a business trip."
"Scootaloo..." Dash stared at the sheepishly smiling girl, "You have no parents."
"My adoption ones, duh!" She continued to smile widely.
"Scoots! Can we get back tah eatin'? Ah wanna see my sister, and Ah wanna see her soon!" That voice reminded you of Applejack, "Howdy Rainbow! Have ya seen Applejack lately?"
"I'm confused." You raise your hand, looking between the ten year old and the girl with a giant pink bow in her hair.
"This is Scootaloo," Dash said as Scootaloo waved, "This is Applebloom and..."
Applebloom waved also, but had that country effect to it. Her yellow eyes matched her t-shirt, but barely any t-shirt was showing. This was because of her overalls that had only one strap done up. She looked behind her at a more of a girly child, with her hair two colours that were light pink and purple. Her bangs and the bottom of her hair were curly, her soft green eyes matching the belt on her pink dress.
"Hi!" She said as she hopped off the bench, squeaking her 'hi'.
"There's Sweetie Belle. Scootaloo is my number one fan, Applebloom is Applejack's younger sister and Sweetie Belle is Rarity's younger sister." Dash said as they all smiled.
"We're here to see our favouritest college people!" They said in sync.
"Follow us and I can bring you to your sisters. And Scootaloo... You can just follow me." Dash held the pizza with two hands again, and all five of you walked out the door, to the college. Dash didn't sing, though.
As soon as all of you got up the stairs, you knocked on Rarity and Applejack's door. But Sweetie Belle just attacked the door, letting it swing wide open.
"Hi Rarity!" She squeaked on her 'hi' again.
"Oh my... Sweetie Belle. Mother and Father did not call me to tell me you were coming..." Rarity was combing her hair for probably the sixth time that day.
"If Sweetie Belle's here... Applebloom!" Applejack came to the door, and bent down to hug Applebloom. That little scene made you miss your sister back home... Do I even have a sister? Meh.
"Hey big sis! Ah'm so happy Granny let me travel here with Scoots and Sweetie to come see ya!" Applebloom let go of Applejack.
"Yeah, what she said, Rarity!" Sweetie Belle sure did squeak a lot on her vowels, and she jumped with joy as she attempted to hug Rarity. Rarity just made a face.
"Sweetie, I am not in the mood for a hug. I forgot to brush my hair ten times yesterday so must pay close attention to it today." Rarity pushed Sweetie away, making her sad.
"Well, since Rarity's busy, you guys wanna join us for pizza?" Dash held up the box, and the three girls, followed by Applejack, walked to your room.
After you were done eating, all that was left was one piece. Applejack and Dash both stared at it, then at each other. Like they read the thoughts of one another, they instantly went into an arm-wrestling match. After a few seconds, you took the piece and took a giant bite, eating half of it. Dash turned to you while still focusing, frowning. Applejack did the same and let her force go down.
"Ah was raised on a barn, but Ah learnt it can harm ya if ya eat somethin' that someone else took a bite of." On that note, Dash stole the piece from you and nommed away the rest.
"Wow Dash. Hungry much?" You poked her stomach.
"Shut up." She said after swallowing.
"Everyone back to their dorms, it's eight and we need to pack up for Prep Day at school tommorow." You said, watching as Applebloom got picked up by Applejack, Sweetie Belle walking with them back to room 2E, "Now, Scootaloo... What to do with you..."
"She can stay here." Dash interrupted, "She can sleep on the couch."
"Generous." You sarcastically said.
"I don't care. I'm in the same room as Rainbow Dash!" She clapped happily and whipped her orange backpack onto the couch. She pulled out some pajamas and ran to the bathroom, changing and quickly running out. Dash just changed into her classic shorts and t-shirt for her pajamas, while Scootaloo had one of those matching fleece things. You were a gentleman and went to the bathroom to change, keeping Scootaloo's innocence intact. You eventually came out, heading towards your bag.
You lifted up the bag, putting pencils and such into it. Dash did the same, but messily while you were organized.
"I'm going to bed, night Dash and..." You told Scootaloo your name and she closed her eyes, quickly dozing off on the couch.
After an hour or so, it was 10:00pm, you decided to try to fall asleep. You crawled in bed and Dash did so too, but was sitting up under the covers with a flashlight. You could see some shadows, but only of Dash herself. You kept watching the shadow until you heard the swipe of paper against fabric. Book paper against her blankets.
"Dash. Go to bed." You said, not mentioning the book. The book closed, you saw that, and she slid it under her pillow. Then shined the flashlight at you as she surfaced from the blanket cover.
"Okay..." You made sure she went to bed, turning off the flashlight and all.
You woke up to your alarm that you set, but neither Dash or Scootaloo woke up to it. You took a few articles of clothing into the bathroom, then had a shower. You stayed in the bathroom while drying off and changing just in case Scootaloo was to wake up when you were naked. You exited the bathroom, and Dash was stretching. She pushed you aside and walked into the bathroom, turning on the water and hopping into the stream of water. You looked over at Scootaloo, who was still sound asleep. The clock read 8:10am, which gave you an extra twenty minutes to eat breakfast. While waiting for Dash, you didn't do anything. When Dash finally came out in a blue sweatshirt with some black leggings, and her normal running shoes. Her hair was down like usual, and she looked beautiful like usual. You quickly wrote a note to Scootaloo saying that you went out for breakfast, and that we'll get her something to eat too.
"Where to?" Dash adjusted her bracelet to be over her sweatshirt sleeve.
"That one waffle shop thingy." You said, laughing at the fact that you forgot the name.
"I have no clue what your talking about, so Starbucks or Tim Hortons?" Dash pointed to the two coffee shops that were right beside each other. Stupid place to put them. Right beside each other.
"Tim Horton's because it's cheaper, closer and..." You pointed to Dash.
"Always fresh, always Tim Hortons." She sang, beautifully. Beautiful looks, beautiful voice. Why you so attractive, Dash?!
You walked into the shop, ordering for Dash and you. She wanted coffee and you wanted coffee, so you got two of the same type of coffees. You also had a blueberry bagel, while she had a chocolate chip bagel. You finished eating quickly, waiting for Dash... She was extremely slow at eating bagels... But fast at eating pizza.
"How long will you take to eat that bagel?"
"I will savor it until the end of time!" She said, pointing to the roof.
"Hurry up and eat it already." You deadpanned.
"Fine." Dash stuffed the rest of the bagel in her mouth, and picked up her coffee. She muffled through the bagel, "Happy?"
"Very." You wrapped your arm around Dash's right arm, her left holding the hot drink.
"TO THE DORM!" She shouted, bits of bagel falling out of her mouth.
When you got to the door to the building, you didn't open it. You awaited Dash's response.
She politely opened the door, "Ladies first."
"Screw you." You happily said as you walked through the door.
"No. You have to use a compliment sammich." I know what that is. I hate them. Just get to the middle of it.
"You are a great singer! But screw you. Seriously, keep up the singing!" You said with a grumble between the sentences.
"Thank you." She had swallowed her bagel and wasn't spitting pieces out at every syllable anymore.
You unlocked the dorm, walking in to Scootaloo reading the note, "Don't mind that, Scootaloo. We're back."
"Okay! Did you get me something to eat?" She smiled at Dash, not looking at you.
"Yeah. I have a bagel for you." Bagels, bagels everywhere!
Scootaloo ran over to you and grabbed the bag, taking out the bagel and cutely nibbling on a small part of it. You resisted the cuteness that was about to start pouring out of your eyes and ears. You looked at the clock, and you quickly grabbed your bag.
"Hurry up Dash, five minutes 'till the bell thingy."
"Actually five minutes fifty seconds. Fourty-nine... But who's counting anyways?" She swung her bag over her shoulder, and went to open the door.
"TALENT CRUSADERS LIBRARIANS YAY!" Applebloom and Sweetie Belle shouted, making Scootaloo smile.
"YAY!" Scootaloo ran to them and they zoomed towards the library door.
You and Dash walked down the stairs and through the tunnel that led to the main building. The main building then had another tunnel on the other side which led to the classrooms and such. Many students were already in the classroom that they were told to originally go to. Yours was Ms. Cheerilee's classroom.
"Who's room are you going to?" You asked Dash.
"Ms..." She cocked her head, "How do you pronounce it... Cheer..."
"Ms. Cheerilee! We get the same schedule!" Giddiness overwhelmed you, making your smile look insane.
"Good for us." She said, looking at the names of the classrooms. The teacher would stay in the same classroom, therefore the room would be named after them. Cheerilee would be your class' name.
You saw the name and pushed open the door, letting Dash and a few other people through. Of course, you sat in the desk beside Dash. There was no teacher yet, so you thought Ms. Cheerilee would come at the bell. You were wrong. After the bell rang, a tall female with long, flowing hair came in. Her hair was coloured with pastel colours, making her magenta eyes stand out. She was wearing a long, very light pink dress with wide sleeves. On her belt was a golden sun, and you knew exactly who it was.
"Hello students, I am Principal Celestia if you didn't know. Ms. Cheerilee called in sick today, so I will hand out your schedules and let you settle in for Preparation Day." Her voice was one of a tender mother, soothing and caring. She handed out the sheets of paper, as they were all the same so it was easy. Every class had a different schedule, to keep the classrooms perfectly full.
"Thank you." You said to Principal Celestia as she handed you a paper. She smiled slightly.
"You're welcome." She said back, handing Dash a sheet.
"Someone's kind, aren't they?" Dash said, reading her schedule and smiling, "We actually have two free periods?! Two?!"
"Yeah, but one of them is specifically for work or reading." You thought Dash wouldn't like that, but then remembered her nighttime book thing.
"Yes!" She said, but then stopped as someone looked at her, "I mean, reading? Crap."
You laughed, "Well I like reading, so that'll come in handy."
"Can everyone please say hello to Bonbon? She is a student helper here, and will be helping you settle into the class." Principal Celestia said, Bonbon smiling and waving.
"Why does she get to be student helper?" Derpy sadly said.
"Hands please, and because she applied and got accepted." Principal Celestia held her smile that you caused her to have, "Put up your hands for any questions, and Bonbon will answer. If she cannot answer, she will then ask me."
"Yes ma'am." Bonbon held a clipboard to her chest, hugging it. A pen was also behind her ear, "Should I take attendance?"
"Yes please, Bonbon." Principal Celestia said while writing something on the whiteboard.
Bonbon went through the the names silently, checking to see if the person she was checking off was there. Her pen checked off twenty-four out of twenty-five.
"Spitfire's missing." She said to Principal Celestia, frowning.
"She is organizing the track and field, mark her present." Principal Celestia said, removing the marker from the whiteboard. It read 'Full name, favourite colour, favourite food and favourite thing to do'.
Principal Celestia put the cap on the green marker and set it aside, "I would like to get to know everyone better. We will start in the front row, to the left."
There were five rows of five, so there were no extra desks. Every desk was taken except for one, Spitfire's. You weren't listening to the first two people, but shook back to focus when a bookworm started talking.
"My name is Twilight Sparkle and my favourite colour is purple. I would think my favourite food is a fruit salad since I eat them a lot and enjoy them. In my spare time I read, and I find it fun to learn new things... So my favourite thing to do is read." Twilight said while placing a pile of books in the corner of her desk.
The next person made you smile, "My name is Derpy Hands and my favourite colour is a golden-brown because it reminds me of my favourite food, muffins. My favourite thing to do is gymnastics."
The next two people were unimportant to you, and the whole second row. The third row, first person was a fellow of yours.
"Howdy! Ah'm Braeburn and Ah would say my favourite colour is like a orangey fire. My favourite food is nothin' but apple pie, and Ah guess that my favourite thing to do is hang out with my fam'ly." He said, and next was you.
"Hi I'm-" You said your name over a loud balloon that popped from a other classroom, "My favourite colour is-"
Another balloon popped, strangely enough.
"I have two favourite things to do, and they are-" A long line of balloons popped, followed by one of those party noise makers, "Oh and my favourite food is-"
You looked over to Dash, who started instantly, interrupting you.
"I'm Rainbow Dash, the one and only!" She lengthened her 'the' for dramatic effect, "Do I have to pick just one colour? Because I love all colours. My favourite food is probably pizza, and my favourite thing to do is play Xbox when I'm able to or play sports when I'm able to."
Everyone else after Dash you tuned out, almost falling asleep until a final balloon jolted you back awake. There was one person left, since a female with curly orange hair just finished. The last person was sitting at the desk in the back right corner, where it was darkest.
"I-I'm um... I'm um..." She whimpered, and hid behind her light pink hair, "I'm Fl-Flutter... Fluttershy and... My favourite colour is... Yellow."
She paused to look around, and she gulped because people were staring and listening to her, "My favourite food is..."
Fluttershy put her hands together, her right hand overlapping her left knuckles. She held her hand to her mouth and whimpered again, "Anything vegetarian... And I-I..."
"I love taking care of animals of all types. All creatures are cutesy-wutesy to me no matter what and I dislike seeing them hurt." She smiled and put her hands on her desk on those sentences, but frowned and put her hands in the formation again, "I mean... If that's alright for me to say..."
"Great! Now let me do my own one." Principal Celestia still had that small smile you gave her plastered on her face, "My name is Celestia, and my favourite colour is a light, almost white, pink. I would have to agree with Derpy on the favourite food category, muffins are delicious. My favourite thing to do is simple; embrace the many possibilities of knowledge."
Derpy clapped at Principal Celestia's favourite food, and Twilight nodded with a smile at her favourite thing to do, "Hello everyone, I'm Bonbon. My favourite colour is the same shade of pink that is in my hair, and my favourite food is... Well... Bonbons! I love to bake and create."
"Now that everyone is done sharing, I have news to inform you of. Today isn't an offical school day, it is Preparation Day. The period bell will ring, but then the ending of classes bell. Go straight to your dorms or wherever you plan on going, as classes will be over for today extra early." Principal Celestia wrote in an easy pattern on the board with black and orange, "Also, tommorow is Nightmare Night. Normal school day, party in the gym starting at 8:00pm. Wear your costumes, too."
The board read, 'Happy Nightmare Night!' In medium sized print on the top right corner of the whiteboard. In the middle of the board was a math question in green marker. Really simple, though. Just multiplication. Oh lookie a math problem that is extremely easy.
"This math question is easy, but if the bell rings and no one answers correctly, you aren't leaving." Principal Celestia said, looking at the question.
The question was '501,245 x 897', pretty simple for college students. But it really surprised you that the person who raised their hand actually knew the answer.
"Yes, Rainbow? Please come write it out on the board."
She walked up and wrote it out neatly, the whole number of 449,616,765.
"Four hundred fourty-nine million six hundred sixteen thousand seven hundred sixty-five." Dash looked at the students, "Uh... Guessing."
"You're correct, Rainbow." Principal Celestia erased the question as Bonbon checked something off. The period bell rang as Principal Celestia said bye to everyone, and the dismissal bell rang as she was reminding everyone about Nightmare Night. You make sure to remember that today was extra early dismissal, and that every other day will be longer.
You swung your bag over your shoulder and watch as Dash walks to her desk, doing the same. She starts to walk out, you following her.
"Hey Dash." You said, making it awkward.
"Hi." She just added onto the awkwardness.
"How'd you know instantly what the answer was? Even for Twilight it would've taken about ten seconds, not one." You questioned, making Dash dead silent.
"I-Uh... I didn't know it, remember? I guessed." She was obviously lying, but you ignored it. A book at night and answering a question as soon as it's asked to be answered... Hm...
After unlocking and opening the door for Dash, you walked into your dorm. It was peaceful, and it was only 10:00am. Of course, Dash being herself, she turned on her Xbox and started up Call Of Duty. She started talking to her 'friends'... The conversation went a bit like this.
"So, watcha guys being for Nightmare Night?" Blossomforth said in a focused voice.
"I'm being a turtle- WHAT THE HELL!" The male that wasn't a creep said, "I was reloading, should've covered me, Blossomforth!"
"I was also reloading." Blossomforth said, seriously.
The creepy dude started, "I'm being a vampire."
"So creative." Dash said, sarcastically.
"Okay then, Dash, what are you being?" The creep angrily said.
"I don't know... Probably Daring Do." She replied, a bunch of groans following that.
"Vampire overrules Daring Do any day." The creep said after the chorus of groaning.
"Nu-uh!" Dash had a kill streak going on, and was annoyed.
"Well I'm being a person from Call Of Duty-" Blossomforth said, interrupted by the creep.
"Yeah-uh!"
"Daring Do is, like, the second most awesome person ever." Dash killed another person, getting her team in the lead.
"Who's the first? A vampire?"
"Nope. Me." Bewm headshawt.
"Daring Do is a fictional character!"
"So? Vampires are too!" Dash yelled back.
"Celestia, you're annoying Dash."
"Dash, we're winning!" Blossomforth cheered, killing someone.
"Blossomforth, be right back, cover me." The male who's being a turtle for Nightmare Night said.
Dash was on Skype with these people, it was a group called 'The CoD Group', and had a bunch of people in it. Blossomforth, Turtle Dude and Dash were on the same team while the other girl who hasn't spoken yet and the creep were on the same team. They had more people on their teams, just those were the ones on Skype.
"Plus Dash, Daring Do is the worst. Book. Series. EVER!" The creep said, making Dash blow him up and let her team win the game.
"Guess what Dylan." Dash said.
"What?"
"My team just won." There was some raging from the creep, or Dylan's, microphone.
"Ha." Dash said, causing Blossomforth to burst into laughter.
"Okay back... Oh look we won." Turtle Dude said with a dopey voice.
"That's retarded." The other girl finally talked, "And it seems I was on mute the whole time!"
That was the conversation, all while you chilled out on your bed, listening to music. Dash ended the call and shut off Call Of Duty, "Up for some Halo?"
You turned off your music and smiled, "You're on."
After a furious battle, Dash won the game by sneaking up on you and waiting until you noticed her, then shooting instantly.
"It was a furious battle!" You dropped the controller, putting your arms out.
"Balls."
"It lasted for days! You should've seen it!" Wait, she was there... Whatever
"Baaaalls." This time Dash made her 'a' longer.
"There was lightning and crap." You gestured to the roof, then the floor as you tried to draw lightning in thin air.
"BAAAALLS." She loudly said, keeping her 'a' lengthened.
"Did we seriously just quote a series on YouTube?" You asked, with a look of emptiness on your face.
"Yup." Dash said, making you both burst into laughter.
By the time that Dash finished her CoD game, and she defeated you in Halo, it was 12:30am.
"You know what?" You put your hand to your stomach, "I'm hungry." Next Chapter: Dark Alleyways Estimated time remaining: 2 Hours, 31 Minutes
