Due to a seemingly miscast spell, Twilight Sparkle is now a stallion, but that's the least of his worries. Now troubled with ancient inequine instincts he once thought conquered, no longer repressed memories of psychological and emotional abuse and a family he once alienated himself from; he must continue his duties to Equestria even as the Principality itself tries to rip itself apart. Meanwhile dark forces conspire in the background and the potential extinction of the entire species is shockingly close.

One thing's for certain, the peaceful, friendly Equestria that Twilight is familiar with is little more than a paper thin facade over a corrupt, rotting and failing Principality. With every passing day, the Fires of Friendship dim and the Wheel of History turns on the end of an age.
