Admittedly, this part of my notes is very incomplete. Here’s what I do know about Changeling mating.

The first and most obvious thing is that if a Changeling is born female, its only option for a partner is to mate with another male Changeling. Males however, can mate with any other species, but if they have a specific species in mind, the hive’s matriarch must approve of it.

This also extends to Royal Changelings as well, yet male royals have even further flexibility, barely even needing approval from their parents, just a natural promise to not attack the origin hive if the Prince wishes to spread changelings to a new area.

Interestingly, the off spring of such matings from male changelings with other species produces a Changeling hybrid, and if the female is a pony, the hybrid will have access to Changeling magic to a degree, with a unicorn allowing for full access.

According to both Pharynx and Amicitia though, no Changeling male; royal or drone; has had offspring with a female Alicorn yet. Hence the incomplete nature of my notes at this time.
