My Little Pony: Spike the Pony
Chapter 4: Chapter 3: Spike's feelings
Previous Chapter Next Chapter"Spike are you...feeling okay?" Twilight asked the former dragon as she noticed he was a bit distracted today.
"I'm fine Twilight. I can't stop thinking about Sweetie Belle since yesterday." Spike said.
"It seems to me Spike, that you're growing up." Twilight said. "Ever since you've become a pony, you've seemed to have moved on from your crush from Rarity and decided to have a crush on Sweetie Belle instead." She added.
"I really had thought that I loved Rarity but being around Sweetie Belle...it makes me feel happier, and better." Spike said.
"I always knew the day would come when you'd find where you heart truly resides. Now more than ever, I really have to find a way to make you a dragon again." Twilight said.
"But...Twilight...that's just the thing..." Spike said.
"What do you mean that's just the thing?" Twilight said.
"If I'm to be as honest as applejack here, then I have to get this off my chest." Spike said. "I...kind of like the way I am now. I've grown so used to this new body that I kind of want to stay this way forever." He added.
"Spike..." Twilight said.
"Don't get me wrong, I still want to know what caused all this. But if and when we do find that something, please...please consider how I feel. Right now, the way I am...it feels right. Like it's something I've always wanted but never talked about verbally." Spike said.
"You really are growing up right before my eyes." Twilight said. "Alright Spike. I'll consider your feelings. Above all else, I want you to be happy. And if being a pony makes you the happiest, I'll take that into consideration." She added.
"Thank you, Twilight. You're the best big sister I've ever had." Spike said.
"Your welcome Spike." Twilight said. "Now run along; I have a feeling there's someplace you'd rather be right now." She added.
"You're right. Thanks Twilight." Spike said and ran off to go find Sweetie Belle. After he left, Rarity came in.
"Twilight, did Spike just run off to find my sister?" Rarity asked.
"Yes. Is something the matter?" Twilight asked.
"It's...nothing. It's just...I'm glad he's doing great." Rarity said and then left.
"...Maybe I should ask around Ponyville." Twilight noted and then went to ask around Ponyville.
"Ugh..." Diamond Tiara said as she sulked. She knew better right now, but she couldn't help but look at Sweetie Belle and Spike with jealousy. "...Maybe it's for the best..." The pink earth pony said and then went into the bathroom and looked at her reflection in the mirror. "...You just had to keep on the path you're on, huh?" she said to her own reflection. "You've more or less pushed everypony that's not Silver Spoon away thanks to your antics. You don't deserve a coltfriend. You never did. Your nothing; less than nothing!" Diamond Tiara said.
"Is somepony in there?" Came Apple Bloom's voice.
Apple Bloom... Diamond Tiara thought to herself. She turned the facet on and began splashing her face with water before drying her face off and prettying up her mane. Apple Bloom came in but then left. She went back in after Diamond Tiara left as well. But something seemed different about the usually bully centric filly, Apple Bloom had noticed. Something was wrong with the filly, something very wrong indeed.
"That's peculiar. Ah was right here and she just...walked past me as if I didn't exist. What's up with that? Ah know I shouldn't be bothered but..." Apple Bloom said. She then saw Scootaloo come in and Diamond Tiara was heading towards her.
"...Oh. It's you." Scootaloo said to the pink earth pony.
"...Can I just get past please? I'm not feeling in the mood to yell at you or anything right now." Diamond Tiara said. Scootaloo was confused but stepped aside anyways. "...Thank you..." Diamond Tiara said and left.
"...That's peculiar." Scootaloo noted.
"Ah know right, I was right outside the bathroom when she came out and she simply just walked past me." Apple Bloom said.
"Wait what?" Sweetie Belle and Spike had come over.
"Yeah, it's the weirdest thing. She asked me kindly to let her pass. No insults or anything of the sorts." Scootaloo said.
"But...wasn't our table on the way out?" Spike asked Sweetie Belle.
"It was. But I wouldn't have even known she had passed us because she...said absolutely nothing..." Sweetie Belle said.
"Something's going on with that filly..." Apple Bloom said.
"You can say that again." Scootaloo said.
"Maybe she's starting to have a change of heart?" Apple Bloom asked.
"This is Diamond Tiara we're talking about but then again...she was being rather off today..." Scootaloo said.
Diamond Tiara was soon home. She went into her dresser and then took out a photograph. She hugged the photograph tightly.
"I miss you...mother..." She said. In the picture was her father Spoiled Rich with her and a grown mare in manhatten. Written on the back of the picture frame was a message.
"In forever remembrance of Spoiled Rich; life taken by a drunk stallion in Manhatten" was the message written on that frame.
"Mother...I can't keep this up..." Diamond Tiara said. "I...I want friends. Real friends." She added. "You probably wouldn't approve of any of them but...I have to move on. Please, keep me strong at the least." Diamond Tiara said and then went straight to bed. There was a faded image of the mare in the photograph once Diamond Tiara was fully asleep. The faded mare just smiled.
"That's my girl..." A female voice said as a whisper. The faded mare vanished shortly after.
