My Little Pony: Spike the Pony
Chapter 3: Chapter 2: Of Crushes & Crusaders
Previous Chapter Next ChapterSpike was over at Rarity's place because Twilight wanted the library for herself to search for anything potential to help the former dragon turned colt.
"This kind of sucks. I wish I had at least been made into a stallion." Spike said.
"How many times do I need to tell you Spike? I just do not see you that way. And that's because I simply won't allow myself to do so." Rarity said.
"What's that supposed to mean Rarity?" Spike asked.
"It's because Spike, you remember how my sister practically disowned me prior to the Sisterhooves Social? Well, that made me realize that I can't go placing my own priorities above hers. And you? You were just too young for me. Even as a Dragon you were." Rarity explained. "Besides, Sweetie Belle she...told me she was crushing on you." She added. Spike's jaw dropped.
"Sweetie Belle has a crush on me?!" Spike exclaimed.
"...I'm lucky Sweetie Belle is out at School right now. Because she would have my head if she knew I told you. Please, do not tell her that I did so. And don't even bring it up around her. I'm the only pony she's told of this." Rarity said.
"I...I will. Still...wow..." Spike said. He couldn't believe it, Sweetie Belle had a crush on him? "So...what do I do now?" The unicorn colt asked.
"If you would be so kind, try and get to know her better, because I refuse to persue you when she already is. In fact, I prefer it if you would please, for my sake...try to move past your crush for me and go for her instead. It would mean everything." Rarity said.
"Rarity..." Spike said.
"Please?" Rarity pratically begged.
"...The element of generosity really chose someone worthy of it I guess, if you're willing to let me have a chance with your little sister." Spike said. "Well, thank you for telling me this. It...does help somewhat." The former dragon added and headed off.
"...Rarity, you better hope this doesn't get back to you..." Rarity said to herself.
Spike found his way to Sweet Apple Acres and the Crusader Clubhouse before knocking on the door. He had been here before yesterday so he knew the way. The crusaders agreed on helping him find out what his special talent was as even he was unsure what his cutie mark was supposed to be about. Sweetie Belle was the one who answered the door.
"Spike, it's you. I was wondering if you'd show up." Sweetie Belle said.
"Of course I would. I want to figure out what's up with this cutie mark of mine just as much as you guys." Spike said and came in.
"Just a simple scroll is so very vague if you ask me. I wish I could think of some kind of talent that relates to that off the top of my head." Scootaloo admitted.
"Hey, at least we'll figure this out together." Spike said. "Though I will say, this place is unnaturally unorganized..." He added.
"We haven't really been super focused on organization as much as we have trying to find our own cutie marks." Apple Bloom admitted.
"If you girls wouldn't mind, I'd be glad to help you organize this stuff. When you spend time around Twilight as much as I have you pick up a few things." The unicorn colt said before he started using his magic a bit. For some reason, Spike's magic came to him as naturally as breathing, but the former dragon didn't question it. The former dragon began organizing the clubhouse, while the Crusaders were huddled and whispering.
"So, is it just me or is Spike pretty cute for a cult?" Scootaloo asked.
"Are you serious right now?" Sweetie Belle asked.
"Ya have to admit, he's pretty cute like this." Apple Bloom said.
"Not you too, Apple Bloom." Sweetie Belle said. "You two both know in secret that I have a crush on him. And as good friends as you both are, I saw him first." She added.
"Chill Sweetie Belle; I wouldn't dream of snatching him away from you. Just...on the off chance things don't work out..." Scootaloo said.
"And what about Rarity? Is he going to continue to have his crush on her?" Apple Bloom asked.
"I hope not. I'll show Spike that I can be better for him then my sister. You'll see." Sweetie Belle said.
"I hope your right..." Scootaloo said.
"I know I'm right!" Sweetie Belle said and broke the huddle.
"...Ah don't think I've ever seen Sweetie Belle this determined before." Apple Bloom said.
"Me neither." Scootaloo said.
"So Spike, I was wondering...my sister's probably going to be busy this weekend. I was wondering if tomorrow, just you and me could...possibly get something from Sugar Cube Corner." Sweetie Belle said.
"Sure thing Sweetie." Spike said. It took everything Sweetie Belle had just to keep herself from shouting in glee and hugging the former dragon.
"Thank you Spike." Sweetie Belle said.
"You do realize tomorrow is Friday right?" Spike asked.
"I know. I just wanted to ask in advance." Sweetie Belle said.
"Well don't worry Sweetie Belle; I won't let Diamond Tiara try and manipulate me into dating her. I simply won't have it." Spike said.
"Thank you." Sweetie Belle said. She felt really good about the weekend now.
