When she got home she looked around her cottage with disgust. “Can’t any of these miserable animals take care of themselves?” She grabbed a nearby broom with her two front hooves and began evicting a family of sick mice. The chaos-induced mice however deemed too much trouble for Fluttershy to put up with. “YOU KNOW WHAT?! FUCK IT! I’LL JUST LIVE SOMEWHERE ELSE!” she screamed with frustration “ANGEL! COME ON! WE’RE LEAVING!” She flung her front door open and marched out into the Everfree Forest without giving it a second thought.
As she traversed through the forest, nightfall remained nightfall, the region was not affected by Discord’s flavor of chaos at all. “Dumb ass ponies... they’ve never been worth hanging around with.” she said to herself as she followed a path that lead up a cliff-side as it began to rain. The wind howled as it blew through the trees, but always behind her, as if it was stalking her. “Doesn’t even look like Angel followed me. Some pet! Thinks he can just run off because of a little chaos?” she mumbled as she reached a bridge like arch that was connecting two pathways together around a quarter mile from the ground. The wind screamed like a banshee, causing Fluttershy to look behind her in disgust - just before it hit her as hard as it could. It felt to her like a brick wall to the face, and the force of it crumbled the archway below her now-unconscious body.
Back at Fluttershy’s cottage, Twilight Sparkle and Applejack arrived to find that she had gone. There were mice running everywhere and a broken broom in the middle of the floor. “Gosh darn-it! Where could she have ran off to?” Applejack asked out loud.
Twilight looked out the window, there were chickens having a mexican fiesta in a small clearing on the edge of the forest, which drew her attention to Fluttershy’s hoofprints leading into the woods. “I have an idea!” she proclaimed as she cast a homing spell on the broken broom and a yellow feather. “If Fluttershy is in the forest, this spell WILL find her!”
“Good thinking, Twi” replied Applejack as they ran into the woods with the broom leading the way.
The broom dodged left and right to avoid the trees as it flew in a nearly inconvenient path to follow. But the girls kept up with it until it’s destination was in view. Twilight stopped in shock - her eyes fixed on the faded yellow pegasus sticking part way out of the rocks, all twisted up, half propped on a tree, and the other half in a small ditch.
“No!” Applejack exclaimed to herself, with teary eyes as she trotted over to her friend. She pushed the few bigger pieces of rubble off of her, and listened for a heartbeat. Then stepped back, removing her hat and bowing her head.
“Nononononono...” Twilight cried. “She can’t be dead! Not like this!” Twilight pulled the embodiment of kindness to a flat peice of ground. “I can still save her! I- I can transfer some of my own life!” Twilight kept attempting her spell, but it was not proving any worth.
Applejack tried to calm her down. “Twi, I’m sorry.” she said as the rested her hoof on Twilight’s back.
Twilight put a stern look on her face. “No. I CAN save her.” she insisted. “Help me carry her to Zecora’s!” and she scooped the dead pony up over her head onto her back.
Knock! Knock! Knock!
“ZECORA! ARE YOU HOME?!” Twilight shouted at the secluded hut’s doorstep.
The door opened with the zebra pleased to have some guests. “Twilight Sparkle! My dear friend, why do you today my cottage attend?”
Twilight put her head down as Applejack stepped forward with Fluttershy on her back. “Twilight here says that you may be able to help boost her magic and bring Fluttershy back.”
Zecora looked at the pegasus with concern. “Oh my goodness, what a wreck! Put her down and let me check!” she said as she ushed the two ponies inside. “I have a brew to help your friend, although it’s use I do not recommend.”
“I don’t care! I have to revive Fluttershy before anypony else is harmed by Discord’s games.” Twilight debated as she magiced the potion over herself in order to enhance her abilities.
“Twilight, don’t you think you should listen to Zecora? I mean, maybe the element of kindness can still be used.” Applejack implied.
“No! This has to be done!” Twilight persisted as she took stance for her spell.
“You do not know what you could reap! Let the poor pegasus sleep...” replied Zecora.
At that moment, Twilight’s horn glowed, and the air around her glittered. Fluttershy’s body began to prop up when the door flung open to a ominous green wind. Twilight’s eyes shot out light as her control over her own power was lost, and her body began to pull towards Fluttershy’s. “WHAT’S GOING ON!? I’VE LOST CONTROL!” she screamed as the two bodies began to merge.
“TWI!”
Applejack hollered as she tried to intervine, but Zecora stopped her and pulled her outside. “Get out! Get out, Applejack! This is too dangerous, we must stay back!”
Zecora led Applejack away from the hut, looking back AJ could see it flicker and fade with the sound of Twilight’s screams getting fainter and fainter.
Inside, the two ponies were now one, neither of which were conscious. Instead a powerful evil had taken over their body. The left half was mostly Fluttershy, with Twilight on the right. Long purple bangs, with Twilight’s horn hanging down, made of their hair. Both sides had wings, positioned normally, but in a fray, and a tail that curved down and cut cleanly at the end, originating from a floating point in midair. The two halves were not actually joined together, but rather bonded with a somewhat melted look with an unexplainable darkness in the middle of a gap that was set between them.
