When Fluttershy abandons home during the events of The Return of Harmony part 2, Twilight Sparkle and Applejack find her body in the forest. Using a boost from one of Zecora's potions, Twilight's revival spell gets high-jacked by an evil spirit, doing a little more than revive her.

Meanwhile Fluttershy finds herself in a far away land unaware of her untimely death - but perfectly unharmed. With the slight company of Gilda and Trixie, will she feel alone forever?
