Celestia’s eyes opened as she awoke in a small cell, two night guards standing on both sides she growled as she tried to move but realised massive chains glowing with runes had pinned her to a wooden cart just small enough to leave the cell.

Celestia growled “Let me out, I am a Princess of Equestria I should not be in chains!”

One of the guards growled “Silence, you are lucky Princess Luna didn’t hand you over to Queen Twilight for punishment or you probably wouldn’t have woke up!”

The other grimaced “The fact you could do that to those who you were supposed to serve, it sickens me to think we once respected you.”

Before Celestia could say anything a tall thestral trotted in “Her fate has been decided, bring her to the throne room where her punishment can be served.”

They saluted “Yes Captain Dark Wind!” Celestia slumped as the cell door opened and she was wheeled out of the room. She winced as the bright light of the castle blinded her eyes that had adjusted to the dark, she felt sick to the stomach as ponies who once showed her with praise glared at her as though she was a demon of Tartarus.

Ponies then began to throw things at her “Demon, Tyrant, Monster!” Celestia began to weep as they threw things at her, just when Celestia thought things couldn’t any worse she entered the throne room. It was not the glares of either of her former students, the fury of Tirek, Sombra and Discord nor the Scorn of Amore, Cadence but the sorrowful look of her mother’s eyes.

Luna sighed “Bring forth Celestia, the Tyrant who sought to enslave Equestria under her reign” she then turned to the guards “Wait outside.” After the guards left she cast a soundproofing spell.

Celestia was amongst those who she had wronged in the past for good or ill, Tirek growled “Why did you do it, even at my worst I was no slaver. I sought power but I didn’t chain ponies together, I wasn’t like that, it was not my way…”

Celestia scowled “They didn’t respect me, after all the years I devoted myself to Equestria they turned on me!”

Luna grimaced “I know how tempting it is to turn to your own darkness for comfort…” Luna’s grimace turned to a scowl “The difference between you and me is that it wasn’t just me, that I could tolerate but then thestral hunts began. To the point I sent them away from Equestria so they would not be persecuted by ponies, you did nothing to stop it. What happened to you here thought was to you alone and would have passed as some knew threat turned up, however what you have done here is unforgivable.”

Luna took a deep breath “My plan one thousand years ago was to remove you an become sole ruler to bring our nations to peace and prosperity as you did maybe I would be stricter but not to this extent.”

Luna sighed “I am not the one who decided your punishment, in truth I would have stripped of leadership but no more than that. Another however had decided a stricter punishment…” Luna paused as she began to cry.

As Tirek gently picked her up as she cried in his massive arms, Mystica approached her daugther “You have brought great harm to those you have sworn to protect, I will miss your smile my precious sun but you have brought his upon yourself.”

Tear began to well in Mystica’s eyes as her horn glowed with white magic, Celestia watched as the world got bigger she felt her sides and forehead get lighter. Celestia was no longer bound by the chains as they were too large to hold her, she looked around to see her wings were gone, she then touched her forehead and no horn sat there.

Celestia looked up in tears “Mother… why?”

Mystica shook her head as she faded away in front of her, As Celestia now a simple plain white Earth Pony with a pink mane and Cutie Mark of a few clouds cried on the floor, Luna flew out of Tirek’s arms her tears drying on her fur as she levitated a pair of saddlebags with meager amount of bits as well as a candle I and a note “You are no longer Princess Celestia, you are now Cloudy Days and you are the new Ponyville Librarian.” She then lifted the soundproofing spell “I wish you luck in your new life” she then shouted “guards escort this mare out of the castle!”

Cloudy Days after being forced out of the castle trotted to the Canterlot train station miserably no-one knowing who she was or what she had done.
