Twilight was sitting in the throne room listening to petitions, Twilight frowned “Yes Solid Station I will grant you an extra fifty five thousand bitcoins to expand the Aqueduct but I expect progress within the next month understood!”

A messenger pegasi flew in “Queen Twilight we have received a message from Queen Solaire, you have been given three tickets to attend the Solar Cycle Celebration tomorrow with one guest with each.”

Twilight nodded “Very well, I need get myself ready as to give the two tickets to two others and pick who I want as a guest.”

Twilight turned to the line “I’m sorry I have diplomatic matters to attend to, it would be rude to refuse their invitation so I have to cut this short I’m afraid.” Twilight trotted out of the court room with a smile, she trotted over to a room and knocked on it.

Fluttershy opened the door with a smile “Twilight what are you here for?”

Twilight pulled out a ticket “We have guest tickets to attend the Solar Cycle Celebration, you get to bring one friend. This one is for you.”

Fluttershy smiled “I’d love to come, I even have an idea for my guest already.”

Twilight smiled “Good, I have someone who’d I’d like to give the ticket too.”

Twilight teleported to the barracks, she opened the door to the guard barracks “Crystal are you here?”

Crystal smiled “Twilight what do I owe the visit.”

Spike smiled “Twilight!”

Twilight smiled “I was wondering if you two wanted to go to the Solar Cycle Celebration, I got a ticket for one of you and a guest.”

Crystal rubbed the back of her head “Actually the dragon migration starts on that day and I was hoping we could go, we would be gone for a few months at least.”

Twilight smiled “I’m sure Tempest can take over training, I’m glad you’re taking good care of Spike.”

Crystal nodded “I want to reconnect after being absent for so long.”

Twilight teleported back to the castle, she knocked on a rose coloured door. Tempest opened the door various exotic weapons were all of the room, Twilight smiled “Quite a collection you have here?”

Tempest blushed “I like collecting weapons, it’s a hobby.”

Twilight smiled “Tempest would you like to attend the Solar Cycle celebration, I have one spare ticket.”

Tempest smiled “It would be an honour to join you, thanks Twilight.” Twilight smiled “No problem, also you may want to find a plus one.”

Tempest blushed slightly “Well I do have a date in mind, we have been doing good work together.”

Twilight laughed “That’s great, Tempest. Well I need to meet with my plus one, you’ll see them tomorrow.”

Tempest nodded “Thanks I’ll see you then.”

Twilight flew up to the top of a tower on one side of the castle, she knocked on the door with a smile.

Sunset raised an eyebrow “Twilight why are you here?”

Twilight smiled “Um would mind being my plus one, I’m going to visit Griffonville for the Solar Cycle Celebration.”

Sunset smiled “Sure, I wouldn’t mind that.”

Twilight smiled “Well we better pack, I’ll see you tomorrow morning.” Twilight and Sunset spent the rest of the day packing before heading to bed.

The next morning Twilight and Sunset were standing next to a shuttle their luggage already in the undercarriage waiting for their friends to turn up, Tempest trotted over to the shuttle with Discord in his finest purple suit with orange polka dots all over it. Twilight smiled “So this is you plus one.”

Tempest smiled “I like a little chaos in my life what can I say.”

Twilight laughed “Fair enough, now where’s Fluttershy.”

Fluttershy smiled as trotted up her wing over Starlight with a couple of small suitcases, Fluttershy smiled “I’m here.”

Discord growled “I see you brought her!”

Fluttershy sent him a chilling glare as Starlight shivered “Don’t test me Discord, I am not going to let you hurt her.”

Discord froze from her glare as waves of hatred flowed out of her, he nodded quietly, Twilight frowned “Discord behave we are here to have fun, not have a spat.” Twilight then frowned “Warp rule, keep your mouth shut at all time unless you want to have your insides on the floor.”

Everyone nodded as they boarded the shuttle, with a flash they saw a massive castle surrounded by a large city on the Griffonia Mountains, they landed in a small town just a short train ride down form the large city. Twilight got out with Sunset, Twilight sighed a she thatched roofed buildings all around her as Griffons walked past not noticing he group at all “This reminds me of Ponyville wherever it is.”

Fluttershy smiled as she got out “By the way our other friends are safe, the Tree of Harmony is protecting them.”

Twilight let out a relieved breath “I’m glad their safe, thanks Fluttershy for informing me.”

Just as Tempest and Discord just got out of the shuttle they heard a warm voice “Welcome to Griffonia.” They turned around to see to see a Griffon about Twilight’s height with a long horn sticking out of their forehead, her white coat almost glowed as her aurora feathers flowed backwards “I am Queen Solaire, I’m glad to welcome you as guests to the Solar Cycle Celebration.”

Solaire then nudged a fairly small looking purple Griffon with a tricoloured feathers similar to Twilight’s mane colours “Come on Moonstar, Queen Twilight Sparkle is here.”

Moonstar looked up “You’re Queen Twilight, can I inspect you wings so I determine the difference between yours and Solaire’s?”

Solaire frowned “Moonstar that is rude, you don’t ask a guest questions like that. Life isn’t all about research.”

Twilight laughed “It’s fine” she then turned to Solaire “actually do you mind if I speak to Moonstar for a little bit while you show the others were they will be staying.”

Solaire nodded with a smile “Okay just don’t let her ask you too many questions.”

Twilight nodded “Come on Moonstar, I need to talk to you.” The two found a quiet bench to sit on, before Moonstar could start firing out questions Twilight asked with a frown “Do you have any friends?”

Moonstar shook her head “I don’t need them, I study a lot and that suits me fine, I have no idea why Queen Solaire wants me to make friends.”

Twilight smiled “I was once like you, I didn’t have these wings. I was a nerdy little unicorn who loved her books…”

Moonstar blinked “That sounds a lot like me.”

Twilight nodded with a smile “Yes, anyway I focused on my studies under my teacher High Princess Celestia she taught me everything I knew about magic, one day she told me I should keep my nose out of my dusty old books and make some friends.”

Moonstar’s eyes widened “You sound like a me if I was a pony.”

Twilight smiled “I thought something similar when I heard about you. Anyway I did make friends and they changed my life for the better, they made me happy, they made understand things I never could have understood without them. Your mentor has a reason for telling you these things, trust in her.”

Moonstar smiled “I’ll try then.”

Twilight nodded “That’s all anyone can ask of you, now let’s get you back to your mentor.” Twilight and Moonstar trotted over to Solaire.

Moonstar smiled “Do you mind if I go off on my own and try to make some friends?”

Solaire nodded “Of course you can, go right ahead” then once Moonstar ran off she turned to Twilight “What did you tell her?”

Twilight sighed “I had a mentor, one like you one who taught me magic, one who told me to make friends. I told Moonstar about all the good she did and how that making friends changed me for the better” Twilight turned her voice low “I didn’t tell her that my friends and mentor turned on me, my friends when we met up years later were sorry so I forgave them but my mentor wasn’t or if she was she didn’t show it, it was worse because she was the one who up until that point I thought was infallible.”

Twilight took a deep breath “So there is one thing you need to do is no matter what happens support her, she sees you as the shining star that never fades. She needs you to be in her corner when the world turns dark and she is at her lowest to be the shining beacon that will protect her from the darkness, because losing that can turn the kindest purest individual in a killer one who is willing to spill the blood of millions to protect those she cares about.”

Solaire nodded “I understand, thanks for helping her, I promise on my life that I will never turn my back on her.”

Twilight asked“So when’s the celebration going to begin?”

Solaire smiled “At dawn when the sun rises in the town hall, now let’s take you to were you will be staying.” Twilight nodded as she looked up worried of what might happen at dawn.
