Loyalty is akin to steel. When forged properly, it is powerful. Firm, resolute, resistant to the warping of age, weather, and strain. However, it isn't unbreakable. Normally, it is hard to break steel as it is. However, heat the steel up, turn in molten hot, and two things could happen. One, is that the steel could break, and be made into a husk; a useless, broken shell. Or two, it could bend; be folded into a new shape, stronger and harder then before.

This is the situation Rainbow Dash, Element of Loyalty, finds herself in. Betrayed by her friends and exiled, her Loyalty, her steel, is being heated up. This new land she finds herself in adds coal to the fire. It is a harsh, unforgiving waste, far from the civilized place Equestria was. The stokes of change further add fuel to the fire. Soon, it will reach the melting point.

So, what will happen to Rainbow? Will she bend, or break?
