Reaching out with a shaking hoof. You pat Twilight on her head in a reassuring fashion. “I’m going to miss you too, Twilight. I’m sorry we couldn’t spend more time together.”

Twilight rushes forward and throws her hooves around your neck in a big hug. “I’m sorry too,” she sniffles, squeezing you tightly against her.

Humming softly to soothe Twilight’s nerves, you stroke her mane gently. You stay like that for several minutes, savoring each others’ warmth.

You notice a tingling in your chest, but choose to ignore it. Slowly, you draw away from Twilight so you can look into her eyes. “Let’s just enjoy the time we have left together, okay?”

Twilight frowns, but nods solemnly. “Okay,” she relents, a smile full of melancholy spreading over her muzzle. “Let’s do that.”

Offering her your hoof, you walk her back into the party.
