Two hours had passed since Rainbow and Fluttershy had given birth to Viper and Screwball. Both babies were sleeping in the nursery with the other foals that had been born within the last few hours. Pinkie had her face pressed up against the glass and guessing which babies belonged to her friends. Nurse Strongheart directed their attention to the pink and teal fillies just off to the left. Scootaloo's eyes bulged wide in awe once she caught sight of her baby sister. She didn't mind that her sister had claws on her hooves, she had expected it as part of her father's contribution to the young one.

"She looks so cute," said Scootaloo.

"You're one lucky filly, Scootaloo," said Applebloom.

"But where Rainbow's daughter looks so different, Fluttershy's looks so....normal," said Twilight. Screwball slowly opened her eyes and everypony could see how she was truly Discord's daughter.

"I think it's safe to say that she's Discord's daughter alright, darling," said Rarity.

"She sure is and isn't she just a precious little trickster?" Discord's voice caused everypony to turn around and see him standing behind them. "Indominus helped me name her, and we decided on calling her Screwball."

"That's a.......darling name," Rarity said.

"Don't sound so disappointed big sis, remember that Scootaloo's father is Indominus Rex," said Sweetie Belle. "With a name like his, Screwball is a fitting name."

"Well spoken, Sweetie Belle," said Discord when he heard her compliment.

"Discord, do you happen to know what Rainbow and Indominus decided on for our sister," Scootaloo asked.

"Oh they gave her a perfect and worthy name. They called her Viper." The filly opened her eyes and Scootaloo saw the slit pupils staring back at her.

"Aw, she has beautiful eyes. Oh oh, I wonder what she'll think of my guardian state." Scootaloo transformed herself in front of Viper and donned her guardian form.

The hybrid pony stuck her front legs out and tried to reach for her transformed sister. Seeing that there was another pony like her excited the young filly, and made her wonder what it would be like to play with a pony so identical to herself. Scootaloo could see a small smile on the filly's face and it made her heart melt to see her sister so happy and eager to see her guardian state. Screwball followed Viper's gaze until she too saw Scootaloo in her hybrid-like state and she wondered if there were more ponies like her out there.

"Seems like she's already eager ta meet ya, Scootaloo," said Applejack. "You've been the little sister for so long, now ya get ta be the big sister in yer family for the first time."

"You two'll have a great time bonding as sisters," Applebloom added.

"Just remember this, Scootaloo. There will be times where you two will get into fights and have to make compromises for each other. That's completely normal and happens with all sisters, right, Rarity?" Rarity blushed as she recalled how she and Sweetie Belle got into such a conflict that it took competing in the Sisterhooves Social for them to make up, and realizing how much her little sister meant to her.

"Don't worry Applejack, I'll be the best big sister for Viper. I've had more than enough years of Rainbow being my big sister to use as an example."

"Just don't do everything that Rainbow did back then. She does have a habit of being rather brash and headstrong," said Twilight.

"I was talking about all the times she was there for me when I needed her, Twilight. I'll try to follow her example of being there for others, and be there for Viper if she ever needs me."

"Spoken like a true big sister," said Applejack as she ruffled Scootaloo's mane in approval of her vow.

"If only the dinosaurs could be here to see this," said Spike.

"Don't worry Spike, they'll see plenty of Scootaloo's vow as Viper grows up," said Twilight.

Over in the Everfree Forest, timberwolves were being trampled into dust and manticores were being run down with their necks snapped. Indominus and Tyrannosaurus were shaking two of the poor beasts in their jaws, with two more standing at their feet. Blood was spilling from the dead bodies as their bones were crushed by the massive six inch teeth. Each of the velociraptors were already eating their own meals and filling their stomachs. The rexes threw their victims to the ground and proceeded to rip the heads off, crunch them inside their mouths and swallow the tasty morsels.

"Mmmm, never thought these animals could taste so good," Indominus said as he snatched the headless manticore and chomped down on the body until the whole thing slithered down his gullet.

"You've been stressing too much, Indominus," said Blue as she swallowed a chunk of meat. "Food tastes much better when you've finished and had time to relax."

"She's right, brother," Tyrannosaurus said with his mouth full of manticore. He crunched the meat in his jaws and swallowed it whole. "You've earned this."

Indominus reveled in the fact that his family was right. Now that Rainbow had successfully given birth to Viper, the hard part was out of the way. Unfortunately, he forgot about the black shape that was still dwelling inside of Rainbow. He bent forward to gulp down his second manticore, but as he opened his mouth to bite down the head, an ear-splitting cry filled the whole forest. The dinosaurs all jerked up as the cry continued to stretch across the land, but Indominus was frozen in terror. He recognized the cry instantly and as he heard where it was coming from, Celestia's words echoed inside his head.

"No. No it can't happen. Not again. RAINBOW DASH!!!!!"

In one blinding second, Indominus had transformed into the Immortal WorldBreaker and was making a beeline back towards the hospital, with a trail of golden flame and destruction in his wake.

In the hospital, everypony was covering their ears as the cry filled the building.

"What's happening to Rainbow Dash," Twilight yelled over the cry.

"It sounds like she's having a chainsaw being put through her insides," said Pinkie Pie.

"Oh no, Dad's probably heard this by now," Scootaloo said. "Which means-"

The sound of running thunder could be heard over Rainbow's cries as Indominus reached the hospital. Nopony had a chance to ready themselves as Indominus smashed through the front doors with golden flames trailing behind him. He had thankfully gone out of his WorldBreaker form to avoid damaging the hospital anymore than he had when he entered. The hybrid dinosaur made an instant beeline for Rainbow's room, causing the doctors and nurses to scatter out of the way. More fear and terror continued to plague his thoughts as he closed in on the room, and the source of his wife's painful cries.

In the room Fluttershy was being held by Discord in an attempt to comfort her from seeing Rainbow dash in such agony. Strongheart and Nurse Redheart were dumbfounded that the black shape had become so active, and its activity was putting so much pain and stress on Rainbow. Worst of all, she hadn't fully recovered from giving birth to Viper, so she couldn't even summon enough strength to try and get it out of her. Then suddenly, the door was forced open and Indominus stormed into the room.

"What's happening to her," he asked immediately as he took up a spot next to the doctors. Strongheart levitated the ultrasound over Rainbow's stomach to show the hybrid what was happening.

"That black shape just became incredibly active just a while ago, Indominus. It looks like it wants to be let out, but Rainbow's too weak to do it."

"Just the effort of trying is too painful for her to handle," said Nurse Redheart.

Indominus saw tears streaming down Rainbow's face from the amount of pain she was in. If she couldn't give birth to whatever was inside her, its activity could tear her up from the inside. He flew over the doctors and went to his wife's side, and held her hoof to try and help her through the pain.

"Rainbow, I'm here now."

"Please.......Indominus......help me," Rainbow cried out as another surge of agony coursed through her body.

"I don't see it coming out. We don't have a choice, Redheart, we'll have to cut her open to get it out."

"NO!!!! I WON'T LET THAT HAPPEN," indominus roared in defiance.

He pinned Rainbow's front legs down, violently transformed into the Immortal WorldBreaker and pressed his mouth to her lips. Strongheart and Redheart watched in shock as the golden flames left Indominus and were poured into Rainbow's mouth. They were too shocked to even comprehend what was happening, but Discord and Fluttershy understood what Indominus was doing. It was the only way that he could help Rainbow give birth to whatever was inside her. He continued to pour the golden fire down her throat until he had gone out of the WorldBreaker from giving so much. When Indominus pulled away, Rainbow didn't make a sound, her mind trying to process what he had just done.

"Now Rainbow, CHANGE!!"

She heeded her husband's word and tried to focus on the power he had given her. The pain tried to split her concentration, but Rainbow fought against it as she tried to transform. Indominus saw the claws growing on her hooves and her teeth becoming sharper and he knew she was close.

"You can do this Rainbow Dash! Fight the pain and transform!" Rainbow gripped the sides of the bed with her claws as she dug deep and bellowed a massive roar as she transformed into her WorldBreaker state.

Her cries were slowly replaced by savage growls as Rainbow fought the agony with rejuvenated determination and energy as her transformed body was able to make progress at last. The doctors watched in disbelief on the ultrasound as the black shape was actually being pushed out of Rainbow's stomach.

"It's working, she's actually doing it. She's forcing it out." Strongheart wasn't sure what was going to come out of Rainbow, but what did come out, surprised him, Redheart and Indominus.

A long scaly, black clawed hand poked out and started grabbing at the air. Indominus couldn't believe his eyes, Rainbow was managing to give birth to a hybrid dinosaur like him. But this was a delicate process, because the hybrid would imprint on the first thing it came in contact with. Indominus had to make sure that it would be him and Rainbow Dash that this new hybrid dinosaur recognized as its parents. Indominus reached out his hand and the black clawed hand grabbed onto it.

"Come on Rainbow, keep pushing!"

Rainbow's growls grew louder as she continued the exhausting effort of giving birth to the dinosaur inside her. The doctors saw a head poke out, followed by a second arm as the newly born dinosaur creaked its eyes open. Indominus saw that the pupils were exactly like his, only they irises were orange-red compared to his blood orange eyes. The youngling's eyes locked onto his father's as more of his body was being pushed out. Indominus gently growled to reassure his son that he would be fine.

"It's nearly out, Miss Dash. Just one more push," Strongheart said.

Rainbow gathered her energy, summoned the last of her strength and bellowed a loud roar that vibrated throughout the hospital. Discord had to cover Fluttershy's eyes and ears because the sight was too much for her to take. Every patient and doctor had to cover their ears because Rainbow's roar was comparable to the shriek of a banshee and a monster. Her friends had shrunken eyes as the roar reached them in the nursery. Doctors were running into the nursery to calm down all the babies that had been woken up by the roar. Viper was shaking with fear in her crib as she heard the pain in her mother's cry.

"What's happening to Rainbow Dash? Please tell me she's ok," Scootaloo asked with worry.

"We won't know until the doctors come back," said Twilight, trying to sound calm herself.

Back in the room Strongheart and Redheart were staring at the small black dinosaur Indominus was holding in his hands. The dinosaur was definitely a hybrid just like Indominus, but it was of a much different caliber than him. This new hybrid had toe claws just like the Velociraptors, and a metallic golden streak running down his sides, similar to the streaks Blue had on her scales. The hybrid's hands were similar to Indominus's with four claws and opposable thumbs on each hand. The head was shaped more like Tyrannosaurus's, but the teeth bore the same sickly ragged look as Indominus and there were quills on the back of the head. There were even a row of flexible dorsal plates running along the back with two small rows of spikes alongside them.

Both hybrids were exchanging soft growls between each other as a way for them to establish communication. The black dinosaur reached up and placed his hand on Indominus's face, he returned the gesture by licking the hatchling's small face. The doctors didn't say anything as the two hybrids went through the procedure of bonding and imprinting, because it was a rather delicate process. It wasn't like a regular baby being born, dinosaurs imprinted on birth and they didn't want the young one to imprint on the wrong creatures. The hybrids gently nuzzled each other as the bond between them was finished, and after they parted from each other's faces, Indominus could finally let the doctors speak.

"He's quite the hybrid, isn't he?"

"He? You already know that this baby is male," said Strongheart.

"Yes. I can tell just by his scent alone. I've spent so much time with my brother and sisters that I can tell the different scents apart. I'm sure he'll be a strong guardian one day, just like us."

"Do you have a name for him?"

"Yes, the perfect name. I'll call him Indoraptor." The young hybrid chirped at the sound of his new name.

"I still can't believe he managed to survive being in the womb with Viper all this time. It certainly took a toll on Rainbow Dash," said Nurse Redheart.

"Rainbow Dash!" Indominus quickly went to her side to check on her condition. In all the commotion he had forgotten to check if she had managed to survive the ordeal as well.

She was breathing heavily and had changed back into her normal self after she had used up the energy Indominus had given her for the birth. Her face was drenched in sweat and she looked completely drained. Indominus used his heat sensing ability to look inside her body, and was relieved to see that Rainbow still had a heartbeat. Indoraptor picked up on her scent and looked back at his father.

"That's right my son. She is your mother. She's just really tired right now. Giving birth to you took a lot out of her."

Indoraptor leaped out of his father's hands and onto the bed. The doctors were about to intervene to remove him, but Indominus stopped them.

"Let him explore, he seems curious."

Indominus was intrigued at seeing his son crawling on all fours on the bed. He slowly worked his way up Rainbow's body until he was looking at her tired and sweaty face. He could see that she was severely weak and exhausted for some reason, but he couldn't understand why. He recalled what his father had said, something about her giving birth to him. He didn't completely understand, but he felt that he was in someway responsible for why she was so tired. He carefully leaned forward and nuzzled her face while purring softly.

"Aw, that's so cute," Fluttershy said quietly as she and Discord watched the exchange.

"Remarkable. He was just born and he's already showing signs of empathy," said Discord.

"Is that possible?"

"It's very possible, Fluttershy. He has the best traits of his mother and father, and after all the time Indominus spent around Scootaloo and Rainbow Dash, it only makes sense that he would develop empathy and it would be passed onto his offspring. It's pretty extraordinary to see such traits in a newborn at such a young age."

Indoraptor's nuzzling got Rainbow Dash to stir, even though her eyes were still closed.

"Indominus.......I'm ok........I'm just tired."

"That's not me, Rainbow. That's our son." Rainbow slowly opened her eyes to see the hybrid nuzzling her face, and her husband standing beside him.

She could see actual concern in the hybrid's eyes as he nuzzled her. So she slowly raised a hoof and gently stroked his face. Indoraptor relaxed as he pressed himself against the warm touch of his mother's hoof.

"It's ok kiddo........I'm just tired." Indoraptor chirped in response, then leaned forward and gave his mom a small lick on her cheek.

"Are you sure you're ok, Rainbow Dash? That was quite the extreme situation you were in," said Strongheart.

"Tell me about it. I feel so weak, I don't think I'll be going anywhere tonight."

"That's probably for the best after all the effort you put into giving birth to your new son," said Nurse Redheart. "Plenty of sleep overnight and you should have enough strength to get back to the castle. But I would give yourself at least a few more weeks before you get back into Wonderbolt practice."

"Don't you worry about that, Redheart. We'll let them know first thing in the morning," said Tyrannosaurus from the open window.

"We were concerned that Rainbow wouldn't make it, but judging by how our new brother turned out, it looks like we don't have to worry anymore," said Blue from Rexy's back.

Indominus scooped Indoraptor back into his hands and started making his way towards the window. But he only got two steps forward before Indoraptor suddenly shut his eyes and collapsed on his side. Indominus saw his son's body twitching and shaking erratically and once again, concern and fear got into his mind. The black scaled dinosaur was crying out in pain, as if something was attacking his body from the inside.

"Redheart, we need to get Indoraptor to the ER at once," Strongheart said as Indominus placed the twitching hybrid in a small stretcher.

"What's going on with him, doc?"

"I don't know what's happening to him, Indominus, but no child should be showing signs like this. We'll need to conduct some tests on him right away. Nothing that'll hurt him, just to examine his body so we can see what may be causing all this," he said to try and alleviate the dinosaur's fears.

"Rainbow Dash, I'll be right back," Indominus said as he followed the doctors out of the room.

"I'm coming with you," Discord said as he followed after his stressed friend through the hospital. What had Indominus so stressed out was after he had placed Indoraptor on the stretcher, he found small bits of black scales left in his hands. Dinosaurs didn't shed their scales, and the fact that it was happening to his son, only made the tension worse.

The Mane Five had their attention drawn away from the babies and towards the rumbling of Indominus's returning footsteps. Tyrannosaurus and the velociraptors were waiting in the damaged doorway as Strongheart, Redheart, Indominus and Discord all came out into the hall with Indoraptor on a stretcher. Scootaloo saw the panic in her father's eyes and flew after them to see what was happening to her little brother. Discord repaired the broken doors after the dinosaurs followed after the doctors, then continued after Indominus. Twilight flew after them too, because she was tired of not getting any answers from the stressful situation.

"Doctor, what's going on?"

"We're not sure, Princess Twilight. He was doing fine one moment and then the next, he just collapsed and started shaking," said Strongheart.

"There were even scales falling off his body, almost like he was shedding."

"But dinosaurs don't shed, right Indominus," Twilight asked nervously.

"No, we never shed. But because it's actually happening to him, it gives me every reason to be concerned."

The doctors wheeled the trembling hybrid dinosaur into the ER and immediately began conducting tests on him. The dinosaurs, Discord, Scootaloo and Twilight could only watch from a window as Indoraptor was put through ultra sounds, X-rays, muscle and body tests, anything to find the source of his twitching and shaking. He had to be put in a restraint suit because he was moving too much for the tests to be effective. The doctors had a very hard time getting just a small sample of blood to work with, because his skin was so thick that it broke five needles. Scootaloo had to bury her face in Twilight's chest with a wing over her ears because the scene was too much for her to see. The whole time the tests were taking place, Indominus kept a constant eye on his son's heartbeat to see if he was slipping away.

In an effort to ease his pain, the doctors coated his body in a magical lotion that was designed to relieve pain or pinched nerves in the body. It took a few minutes, but the black scaled dinosaur's twitching and shaking slowed down and finally, he passed out after the lotion was in full effect. Twilight sighed in relief as the doctors brought Indoraptor back out on the stretcher. They put a breathing mask over his mouth to give him more air, and hooked up monitoring systems to his body before he was taken out of the ER. Strongheart and Redheart let the other dinosaurs get a better look at the brother, who now had a few patches of missing scales in his hide.

"He looks so....vulnerable," said Blue.

"When will you have the results done, doc," asked Rexy.

"They're being analyzed right now. In a few minutes we'll have some real answers," Strongheart replied.

"I feel sorry for the poor thing," said Redheart. "He sounded so scared and afraid during those tests. If we didn't have that lotion, I don't think we'd have anything that could relieve his pain."

"Don't worry Indominus, he'll pull through this. He is your son after all," Discord said in an attempt to ease Indominus.

The hybrid father wasn't uttering a word. He was already full of so much stress that he wasn't going to say anything until he got a true verdict from the test results. He watched Scootaloo place her hoof over one of Indoraptor's hands and talk to him softly, hoping it wouldn't be the only time she would get to be with her little brother.

"Let's get him into the nursery, it might do him some good to be around his sister when he wakes up," said Redheart.

"I've got a crib ready for him," Discord said as he snapped his fingers and a crib that was big enough to accommodate Indoraptor appeared in front of them.

He carefully levitated the sleeping hybrid and all the machines until Indoraptor was snug in his crib with all of the systems still attached. They were about to head back to the nursery when Twilight asked if she could do something for Indoraptor first. Indominus agreed to let her and she went right up to the crib and whispered to his son.

"I know you'll get through this, you're strong just like your father. You have a family and friends waiting for you, and I personally would like to see you all grown up and strong. Don't give up your spirit, Indoraptor," Twilight said before giving him a small kiss on his neck.

Indoraptor was placed beside Viper while the Family went back to Rainbow and Fluttershy's room to wait for the test results. The filly was extremely fascinated by the hybrid dinosaur next to her, but she could tell that something was wrong with him. All the strange things hooked onto his body, and the patches of missing scales didn't look right. She wanted to get closer and have a better look, but she was too young to walk or fly, and not nearly strong enough to pull the crib closer. Screwball could only see parts of the hybrid dinosaur, but what she was able to see had her young mind intrigued already. Both fillies wondered what the new creature would be like when he would wake up, assuming he didn't sleep the entire day away.

Indominus and Rainbow tried to comfort the other and remove the burden of stress that had been place on them, while the others waited with anxiety or paced about the room to distract their minds. Tyrannosaurus was back outside looking into the room, while Blue and her girls had chosen to stay inside.

"Did he look really sick," Pinkie asked Delta.

"He looked like he was in terrible agony," the raptor responded.

"I've never felt so sorry for a fellow raptor before," said Echo.

"Ah'm sorry all of this is happenin' to ya, Indominus," Applejack said while Applebloom and Sweetie Belle were helping Scootaloo stay calm.

"I just want it to end, Applejack. I know Celestia told me something like this might happen, but I never imagined it would happen to my own son just minutes after he was born." Strongheart opened the door and walked in with the test results. Every head in the room instantly snapped in his direction.

"What's happening to him doc," Rainbow said, seemingly holding her breath waiting for a reply.

"Indominus Rex. Rainbow Dash. There's no easy way for me to say this so I'll have to be really blunt about it. Your son, Indoraptor, his body is unstable and is slowly coming apart from the inside out."

Discord saw the pupil in Indominus's eyes shrink to the size of a needle and instantly conjured earmuffs for everyone in the entire hospital. A second later, a roar of pure grief erupted from the hybrid's throat. Rainbow did her best to hold him in her tired condition as Indominus bellowed out his pain and grief at the news. Even with the earmuffs, everypony still had to put their hooves to their ears because the roar was so loud and shrill. After Indominus was done, Discord took away the earmuffs and saw that Indominus was crying. Pinkie, Rarity and Twilight went to him and hugged him to show they were sorry too, while Applejack bowed her head in silent acknowledgement.

"Why.......why is this happening?"

"I've gone over the tests plenty of times, indominus. They all show that your son is unstable on a genetic level, his muscles, blood cells, even his DNA, every part of him is starting to unravel from the inside and work its way out. It also explains why he was losing scales, those were an outward sign of his instability."

"But how? How did this happen? He was doing fine when I was holding him. Where did this come from?"

"That's the rough part, Indominus. I don't mean to sound rude, but it might have come from you."

"ME!? YOU'RE SAYING I DID THIS TO MY OWN SON!?" Strongheart had beads of sweat on his forehead from the deep, angry tone Indominus had bellowed.

"N-No Indominus. W-What I'm saying is that your DNA could be responsible for why his is unraveling." The response made Indominus calm himself down so he could think about how his DNA could be tied to Indoraptor's issue.

"That doesn't make any sense. I was made a hybrid, how can that-" the word hung in his mind as he began to realize the connection.

"Yes, you were MADE a hybrid while your son was BORN one. There are some major differences between those words. When you were made, was your body completely stable or did you start shaking and losing scales at a young age?"

"No I never shed any scales. Granted I was experimented on multiple times, but I wasn't unstable."

"Maybe, but the very nature of your DNA being made of so many different animals, combined with the DNA of a pegasus might've caused the instability within him. The tests showed us his DNA is having trouble staying together and strands of it were already peeling apart when we performed those tests. If this keeps up, I'm not sure if your son will make it through the night."

"But you can help him, can't you doctor," Scootaloo asked.

"Well sweetheart we can try our best, but this is the first time we've dealt with an unstable newborn baby. Handling an unraveling body is something we've never come across before. All we can do is monitor his condition, give him plenty of care and the love he needs, then all that we can do afterwards is hope for the best."

"But Strongheart, I don't want to have given birth to him just to lose him," Rainbow said as Indominus held her before she too cried into his chest.

"We'll look after him tonight, but if his condition hasn't improved by the morning, you two may want to consider sparing him the agony of dealing with this condition," Strongheart said in a grim tone.

"He will pull through this," Twilight said defiantly. "He's a hybrid just like his father, and no condition will keep him down."

"But Princess Twilight-"

"No doctor! I've seen what Indominus can do, I've watched him and Rainbow Dash pull our world back together to keep it from splitting apart. If Indoraptor is anything like his father, he will find a way to pull through and survive this."

"Let's hope that you're right, Twilight. In the meantime, I'll give you two time to think about this and we'll see what he's like in the morning," Strongheart said before he excused himself from the room.

"He'll survive, Indominus. He's bound to have inherited your determination and endurance."

"One can hope, Twilight. Once can hope." Indominus and Rainbow just held each other in silence as their friends hugged them with hope that Indoraptor would pull through.

Outside the bedroom, two doctors had overheard the tense exchange between Indominus and Strongheart. They slipped away into a utility closet and locked the door behind them.

"So, the King of Equestria's newborn son is stricken with an ailment that could kill him within the next day," said one stallion.

"It seems that our little tip was right about there being a chance to make our 'King' suffer by losing his own flesh and blood," said the other.

"Now how shall we do it?"

"Simple. When it gets dark and the patients are all asleep, we'll sneak into the bedroom, unplug that black abomination without waking any of the babies. Then we take him into the X-Ray room and expose his body to enough radiation that he'll be dead long before morning comes around."

"That is simple and brilliant all at the same time, and nopony will suspect a thing. There won't even be a scratch on his tainted hide to show that he had been killed, they'll think he succumbed to his illness and died overnight. It'll surely break up our King's spirit and make the little bird that told us about this chance, very happy."

"It definitely will. In the meantime, we'll act like we didn't hear anything and just wait until the hospital closes up. Then we'll put our plan into action." The 'doctors' peaked out of the closet to make sure that nopony was approaching, and then strolled back out into the halls, confident of their plan for that night.

Later that night, the lights in the hospital were all out and the patients were all sound asleep. Rainbow and Fluttershy were staying one more night, partially because Rainbow was still too weak to get back up, and Fluttershy had decided to stay to keep her best friend company after the horrible news. The babies were all sleeping peacefully in the nursery, with the only sound coming from the monitoring systems that were attached to Indoraptor. Though that little noise was able to stir Screwball from her slumber, and she found the constant beeping rather annoying. She furrowed her gaze at the machines and bubbles suddenly appeared over them, causing the noise to stop, but the machines were still working. She was starting to close her spiral eyes and was about to fall asleep again, when she spotted something from behind the window of the nursery.

Two stallions that she hadn't seen before were making their way towards the door to the nursery. She didn't recognize them as any of the doctors that had tended to her all day, and that was enough cause for her to wake up Viper by conjuring up a small poker within the filly's crib and lightly jab her until she woke up. Viper sleepily turned her head towards Screwball, annoyed that she had been woken up. The purple filly locked eyes with Viper, then moved her eyes in the direction of the window. Viper could barely make out anything in her sleepy vision, but she did see the outlines of two heat signatures standing at the window. She focused her vision on one eye, while keeping the other closed to make it seem like she was still sleeping and saw two stallions she had never seen before either.

Both stallions stared at Indoraptor from behind the glass.

"How repulsive. They put a thing like that in a nursery with ponies? What if it woke up and decided to have a child buffet as a midnight snack?"

"All the more reason that there shouldn't be anymore of these things wandering around our world." Then they noticed that Indoraptor was beginning to stir and the twitching was starting to come back. "Let's hurry and get this over with. If those machines start flaring from a change in him, the doctors that are left will sound the alarm and we'll be busted."

"Alright, let's put the poor abomination out of his misery."

They started making their way towards the door of the nursery, and Viper was scared for the first time in her life. Strangers were going to get into the nursery and potentially harm her or her brother. She too took notice of Indoraptor's twitching and realized that she needed to get help. Viper turned towards Screwball, hoping that the filly would understand her plight and help in any way she could. Screwball saw the stallions tinkering with the locks on the door, trying to get it open and the pleading look in Viper's eyes. Somehow she did understand what the hybrid filly wanted to do and conjured up a small microphone speaker right next to the filly's face. With her back turned to the stallions making them think she was asleep, Viper began emitting soft, raptor-like calls into the microphone. Her calls were sent out through all of Ponyville, but only a few select souls could hear them.

In his bedroom, Indominus was having a hard time falling asleep. Without Rainbow by his side, his custom bed felt so empty. Add on all the stressful moments he had handled in one day and his mind was too restless for him to get any peace or sleep. As he laid there on his bed, he hears something unique calling out. It was faint, soft, almost like it was trying to be quiet on purpose. It sounded like one of the raptor squad, but it was almost like there was the voice of a child mixed into it. The call drew him from his bed and into the main room of his castle, where the other dinosaurs were gathering.

"You guys here that too?"

"Yes we do, Indominus, and I already know who's sending it," said Blue.

"It's Viper, isn't it?"

"Yes, and a call like this means only one thing: 'help me,'" said Delta.

"Why would Viper be asking for help in the middle of the night," asked Rexy.

"She wouldn't be calling for us unless......unless something's happening to her and Indoraptor."

"Can you tell from here if something's going on, Indominus," asked Charlie.

The hybrid dinosaur turned around in the direction of where the hospital was, and used his heat sensing ability to make out how many patients were still inside. He could see numerous bodies sleeping on all the floors, even Rainbow and Fluttershy's heat signatures were still calm and in their beds. Then he focused his gaze on the nursery and his blood ran cold with anger. He spotted two heat signatures that were right by the door of the nursery, they weren't signatures he had seen before, but they were trying to get into the nursery and it was the cause of Viper's calls. It didn't take him long to realize that his children were in danger. Indominus's protective instincts went into overdrive.

"We have to move now! Our kids are in danger!" That was all the dinosaurs needed to hear before they were out the castle doors, airborne and at the entrance in mere seconds. They used any open window they could find and silently made their way through each room without waking the patients inside, and made their way towards the nursery.

"Come on, it's a stinking locked door. You should be able to open it."

"Hey, you try to unlock a door without waking a bunch of mini alarms and see how easy it is." The stallion finally heard the lock on the door click and slowly pushed it open.

Viper became more frantic in her calls as the stallions inched their way closer to Indoraptor's crib. He was still twitching in his sleep as they loomed over him and she finally had to stop to avoid being heard. She could only listen as the sound of cables being plucked from Indoraptor's body filled her ears. Then the machines stopped working as each stallion unplugged them from the walls to avoid setting off any alarms. Once the breathing mask was removed, they levitated Indoraptor's body from his crib and started carrying him out. Viper finally turned over and was horrified to see them carrying her brother out of the nursery. In a blind panic, Viper tried to give out a call to startle the kidnappers, but instead a red ball of energy burst from her mouth, went out the door and struck of the stallions in the back of the head.

The sneak attack broke their concentration and they dropped Indoraptor. The stallion that had been hit was rubbing the back of his head as he turned around to see who had hit him. When he spotted Viper growling at him, he merely dawned a coy smile.

"Oh you want to join this freak of nature? Alright then darling, I was going to get you next but I don't want to disappoint you if you're that eager." He had only taken one step towards Viper when he was suddenly kicked in the side and sent skidding to a halt. His partner turned around to see what had happened, only for the same thing to happen to him.

They both saw Indoraptor awake and struggling to stand up. His legs and arms shaking and struggling to support him as he bared his teeth at his kidnappers. The stallions were surprised at first, but after seeing how much Indoraptor was struggling, they figured he didn't have the strength to fight. They started walking towards him and Indoraptor responded with an angry growl.

"That's it? That's what you call a growl," the stallions said mockingly at the young hybrid. They were so focused on Indoraptor that they didn't notice the massive bubble that was slowly appearing around them. "Do it again, come on."

The bubble fully closed around them and loud roars filled their ears, paralyzing both stallions in fear before they were swatted away like flies. Delta and Echo pounced on each stallion immediately afterwards and started clawing and biting into their hides. Both stallions tried to use their magic to push the raptors off them, but Blue and Charlie chomped down on the horns so hard that they nearly broke off. The raptors then threw the bodies in the direction of the rexes and both dinosaurs crunched down on them before throwing them to the ground.

"Y-You animals......you can't.....do this....to us."

"Tell me, who sent you ponies in here after my son and daughter."

"Like we'd ever tell a king like you." Indominus turned his head towards the defiant stallion. "You don't deserve that title. You're nothing but an animal."

"The little birdy that told us about those atrocities you call 'children' will hear about this. Know why? Because....you don't kill ponies anymore."

"That's right, you'll let us go because "you won't spill anymore pony blood." You're stupid kindness will be your downfall."

"You're only half right," Indominus said with complete calmness. "I did say I wouldn't spill anymore blood, but I also said that anyone that dares to hurt my children would have a war on their hooves. You two idiots already lost your war before it even started, and now you are just, refuse."

"Goodbye scum," Tyrannosaurus said before he and Indominus crushed their throats.

The stallions' bones were crunched over and over as the rexes swallowed them whole without leaving a hint of blood. With the danger eliminated, the dinosaurs turned their attention to indoraptor who had watched the fight take place. Indominus and Tyrannosaurus leaned forward and nuzzled their son gently, reassuring him that the danger had passed. The raptor squad took turns licking their little brother, and Indoraptor loved the attention he was getting from his family. Indominus helped him onto Blue's back as she helped him back into his crib. Indominus spotted Viper watching from her crib and gave a congratulatory growl to show his thanks for alerting him. Viper returned the growl as Blue went over to lick her and show the affection that Indominus couldn't at the moment.

Blue was about to walk out of the nursery when Viper stopped her with a call. The hybrid turned her gaze towards Indoraptor like she had something that could help him.

"You want to be in there with him?" To Blue's surprise, Viper answered her question with a caw similar to her own. So the raptor let Viper climb onto her head and lifted her into Indoraptor's crib.

The other dinosaurs watched with curiosity as Viper slid in next to her brother. Indoraptor stared at the odd pony in front of him with curiosity. She had a scent similar to his so he had to guess that she was part of the family too. He wasn't sure what she was going to do as she drew closer to him. Then Viper suddenly opened her mouth and Indominus's eyes went wide as he saw a small stream of red, tangible energy coming from her mouth.

"It can't be," Indominus said in shock as the small stream went into Indoraptor's mouth.

Viper closed her mouth and the stream stopped flowing into her brother. Indoraptor could feel the strange energy flowing through him, but he was amazed to see that the twitching and shaking in his body had stopped completely. He felt at ease and relaxed from just a small portion of the red energy, and noticed that some of the patches in his body were filled with brand new scales. He leaned forward and licked Viper on the face as his way of thanking her. She slowly moved closer to him and cuddled against his body as he coiled his tail around her body.

"Seems you have a guardian angel looking out for you already, Indoraptor," Blue said as she leaned in and nuzzled her brother before she left the nursery.

"What do you think that was, Indominus," Rexy asked after they exited the hospital for the final time that night.

"I think my son is going to be alright now. What Viper did for him was give him a small portion of her stable energy. I believe that will help stabilize his body and possibly beat that condition."

"At least tonight he'll be sleeping with his sister beside him," said Blue.

"Plus he won't be twitching," Charlie added.

"Yes, for now."

For the rest of the night the dinosaurs finally slept soundly. Indominus went to sleep knowing that his son had a chance of living a peaceful life, while Indoraptor was sleeping peacefully with his sister beside him. But this was just one hurdle the young hybrids had managed to overcome, there would be many more for them to face as they matured and grew in their new world.
