"-down!" Trunks said as he woke up.

He got himself up, and looked out to the city...

It was destroyed.

"...Oh no..." He said to himself.

Trunks quickly took flight, going towards the city.

"Darn it, Gohan! Why'd you go alone!?" He asked.

He was above the city, looking around for Gohan.

The desolated and destroyed buildings made him even more worried...

The sun was shining, at least.

He found Gohan!

...Standing there.

Trunks smiled in relief.

"Gohan!" He yelled in happiness.

He flew down to him.

"Gohan! Where are the Androids? Did they get away?" Trunks asked.

Gohan opened his eyes.

Trunks was beside him, so he looked down at him to the side.

He smiled.

"We won, Trunks." He said.

Trunks was shocked.

"Y-You mean...!?" He asked.

"I defeated them. It's over." Gohan said.

"Y-You did it!? The Androids are gone!?" Trunks asked happily.

Gohan reverted back to his base form.

"Yeah. Now let's head home. I'm sure Bulma will be happy to hear about this." He said.

Bulma was in her mostly destroyed lab...

She wore a pink grease monkey suit.

She was on her computer.

She was designing a time machine...?

"Phew! Nice! That's better! That's a major improvement..." She said to herself.

Gohan and Trunks entered the dark room...

"Hey mom...?" Trunks asked.

Bulma sighed...

"What is it sweethea- Oh my gosh!" She yelled.

"Hey..." Gohan said, trembling a bit...

"Oh my gosh! What happened!?" She asked, getting out of her seat.

"To be blunt... I took them on alone." Gohan said.

"Alone!? Are you crazy!?" Bulma asked.

"I beat them, so..." Gohan said.

"Wait, what? You beat the Androids!?" Bulma asked.

"It's finally over, Bulma." Gohan said.

"T-That's amazing! B-But we need to treat you right away!" Bulma said.

"I was pretty close to kicking the can..." Gohan said, chuckling.

Well...

Gohan now has a bunch of bandages on his head.

His arm, too.

Other than that, there were hidden bandages on one of his legs.

Bulma fixed his gi for him...

And now it's time to celebrate!

...By celebrate, I mean for Gohan to leave.

We're right outside Capsule Corp...

"What do you mean you're leaving?" Trunks asked.

"Sorry, little man, but now that the Androids are gone... I think I'm going to visit someone." Gohan said.

"Oh... I see." Bulma said with a smirk.

"Tell them I said hello..." She said.

"Wait, you know who it is, mom?" Trunks asked.

"It's a secret!" Bulma said.

"What!?" Trunks asked.

"Now that the Androids are gone, I have plans for myself... I'm really excited." Gohan said.

"You'll come back, right?" Trunks asked.

"Of course! I have to train you, kid!" Gohan said.

"Only now, we'll be a bit more lenient. It's peaceful, let's relax for a bit." He said, patting Trunks on the head.

"How often will you visit?" Trunks asked.

"At least once a week. I'll always come." Gohan said.

"Okay! I'll be sure to be stronger than ever!" Trunks said excitedly.

"Good to hear, Trunks." Gohan said.

"Okay, then. See you!" He said, flying away.

Bulma and Trunks waved.

"Bye!" Bulma said.

"Come back soon!" Trunks said.

Where did Gohan go...?

He left to go home...

To Chi Chi and the Ox-King.

In East Mount Paozu...

A dome shaped house was there.

This was the home of Goku and Chi Chi...

However, since Goku was gone due to a natural cause, it's Chi Chi's home.

Her father, the Ox-King was living with her.

They mainly spent their days just hanging around...

Ox-King usually went out for groceries, and Chi Chi stayed at home to cook and knit.

Ox-King's hair turned grey, and Chi Chi started putting all of her hair up in a bun.

They were worried about Gohan...

Rumor has it that he's been fighting the Androids.

Anyway...

"Hello, honey! It's me!" Ox-King said, entering the door.

He had groceries...

"Oh! Wise man bearing groceries, come in!" Chi Chi said.

"I don't know about wise..." Ox-King said, closing the door.

"But I remembered the honeydew melon. And the ketchup. And the potatoes for my french fry potatoes!" He said, putting the bags of groceries down.

"You seem to say the same thing every time, dad." Chi Chi said.

"I'm losing my mind, honey." Ox-King said.

The two chuckled.

But while they did, a knocking came at the door.

"Huh? Who could that be?" Chi Chi asked.

"I'll get it..." Ox-King said.

He opened the door, and...

"Hey Grandpa Ox!"

He was shocked.

"W-What!? Gohan!?" He asked.

"Gohan!?" Chi Chi asked.

It was Gohan!

Bandaged up...!

Chi Chi moved the Ox-King out of the way.

"My baby boy...!" She said, crying...

"Hey mom!" Gohan said.

"Y-You've grown so much...!" Chi Chi said.

"What happened to you?" Ox-King asked.

"I finally beat the Androids..." Gohan said.

"Come inside, please!" Chi Chi said.

Dinner time...

Even though it's a tiny house, Chi Chi was able to whip up an amazingly huge meal.

Like she used to...

Gohan was flabbergasted at how fast it was prepared...

"Wow! This is amazing!" He said.

He put four dumplings in his mouth...

"We're so glad you came back... It's been so many years...!" Chi Chi said.

Gohan swallowed.

"I'm glad to be back... The nightmare is over." Gohan said.

"You've turned into a real man!" Ox-King said.

"It's been over a decade... So..." Gohan said, putting a bowl of rice to his face.

He started eating.

Chowing down on the entire table...

Meats, potatoes, there's a lot.

"You're just like your father..." Chi Chi said.

"You said you defeated the Androids?" Ox-King asked.

Gohan put a bowl of dumplings down...

"Yeah... In fact, it was just yesterday." He said.

"Yesterday!?" Chi Chi asked.

"No wonder you have all the bandages..." Ox-King said.

"How'd you do it?" Chi Chi asked.

"Honestly... I really don't exactly know." Gohan said.

"What do you mean?" Ox-King asked.

"I fought them again, but this time... I just suddenly had a surge in power... It came out of nowhere, they ganged up on me... I nearly died." Gohan said.

Chi Chi gasped.

"Calm down, he's here." Ox-King said.

"Oh... Right..." Chi Chi said.

"Uh... By the way... Mom? Can I tell you something?" Gohan asked.

"What is it?" Chi Chi asked.

"I... I want to go to school..." Gohan said.

...

"Y-You want to...?" Chi Chi asked.

"I still want to become a scholar... But I remember you trying to apply me to a great school, and... Well, I left..." Gohan said.

"I'd love for you to go school!" Chi Chi said.

"Yeah... Only problem is, I don't know which schools are destroyed or not." Gohan said.

"Well, from what I've heard, 2/3ths of the population is dead, so we only have so many schools..." Chi Chi said.

"I know..." Gohan said.

"But don't worry! I'll do it all for you! Does it matter which school...?" Chi Chi asked.

"No... As long as it's an education, I can become a scholar." Gohan said.

"Okay! But first, you need to eat up, and get better...!" Chi Chi said.

"I don't think anyone wants to see those wounds..." She said.

"Already on it!" Gohan said.

He started chowing down again.

Chi Chi and Ox-King whispered to each other...

"He reminds me a lot like Goku..." Ox-King said.

"Well, that's his appetite. He's willing to work!" Chi Chi said.

For the rest of August, Chi Chi managed to find a school for Gohan.

Sad thing is, he had to go to high school.

It's the starting week of September.

In his old room...

Chi Chi had to give him the details.

"What!?" Gohan asked.

"I'm not even 18 anymore..." He said.

"I'm sorry, but if you want to go to college, you need to go to high school." Chi Chi said.

"Well... Okay." Gohan said.

"It's Canterlot High School, and I went through a lot of legal stuff..." Chi Chi said.

"Thanks..." Gohan said.

"They were willing to take you..." Chi Chi said.

"Good." Gohan said.

"Here's the details... Canterlot is about 200 miles away." Chi Chi said.

"Not bad." Gohan said.

"You're being a junior, your old application was good enough for it." Chi Chi said.

"I fail to see how that makes sense but okay..." Gohan said.

"The city wasn't attacked by the Androids, luckily. I'll have all the books you need by your first day, which is Wednesday..." Chi Chi said.

"What about orientation?" Gohan asked.

"Apparently we have to buy our own textbooks." Chi Chi said.

"Oh." Gohan said.

Fun...

How is he going to fare?

Will he meet any familiar faces?
