Chapter 19: Trixie's Desperation! Gohan Is an Idiot! The Final Round Begins!

Setting stuff up for the big night.
Rainbow Dash was setting up the microphone.
"Check, one, two. Testing, testing..." She said.
The thing wasn't working, so she tapped on the microphone.
"Testing!" She said a bit loudly.
...Then the microphone gave a ton of feedback which teared into everyone's ears.
They covered their ears...
Gah...
Then it abruptly stopped.
Sunset shut it off.
"I thought I heard the end of it this morning..." Gohan said.
"Sorry about that." Rainbow Dash said.
"This may not go so well... We might need some backup." Gohan said.
"Why?" Twilight asked.
"If I need to step in, you're all vulnerable." Gohan said.
"That happened before..." Sunset said.
"Do you have any friends or something?" Rarity asked.
"One in particular can help... I hope. I'll go get him." Gohan said.
"Hurry back." Twilight said.
With that, Gohan flew off, leaving a white aura.
He was gone in the distance in an instant.
"I wonder who he'll bring." Applejack said.
"Maybe he'll love the counter-spell!" Rainbow Dash said.
"This doesn't make any sense. We were awful. Doesn't anybody else think it's strange that we're the ones that made it to the finals?" Fluttershy asked.
Before anyone else could respond...
"Very strange." Trixie said.
Yep, she was there.
With her two bandmates.
"What are you doing here, Trixie? Pretty sure the losers are supposed to be up there in the cheap seats." Rainbow Dash mocked.
"The Great and Powerful Trixie is the most talented girl at Canterlot High. It is I who deserves to be in the finals. And I will not..." Trixie said, snapping her fingers.
"...be denied!" She yelled.
Then her band flipped a lever.
...Then there happened to be a fucking trapdoor underneath the group that opened up.
Everyone fell!
Their instruments fell, too.
In fact, Pinkie's head went through her drum.
Oh, shit.
Trixie squatted over the edge and waved at them.
"See you never~!" She taunted.
Then the hatch closed on them...
In a dark room.
Spike saw this unfold...
And nobody noticed him.
He had to do something...
He leaped off the stage.
Trixie went back to her bandmates.
Then, from afar...
Like, at the end of the seats.
The Dazzlings watched.
Adagio chuckled.
"That idiot actually left them behind, hah!" She said.
"Well, what would you expect?" Aria asked.
"Told you someone would give them a shove." Adagio said.
"She didn't shove them. She pulled a lee-ver!" Sonata said.
Adagio facepalmed and Aria groaned.
"Ugh, go back to sleep Sonata." Aria said.
Well, it's been many hours.
The final round in the Battle of the Bands began, and Trixie played with her band.
It was nighttime and there were many stage effects.
"Ya better believe!
I got tricks up my sleeve!
And I captivate,
'Cause I'm powerful and grea-ea-eat..." Trixie sang.
"Oh, whoa, oh-oh-oh-oh..." The band sang.

Well, underneath this entire song, the Rainbooms were just... Doing nothing.
Most of them were sitting.
Gohan wasn't back yet, and... Well, they really couldn't do much.
Rainbow Dash kept ramming into the door in attempts to break free, but... Nothing came from it.
Except for pain.
"Give it up, Rainbow Dash. You've been tryin' at this for hours. It's not gonna open." Applejack said.
Rainbow Dash rubbed her soon to be bruised shoulder.
Fluttershy sighed.
"Why did Gohan have to get a friend..." She said.
"I'm sure we all feel the same, darling." Rarity said.
Twilight just sighed.
"Maybe it doesn't even matter that we're down here. I don't think the counter-spell would have worked anyway." She said.
"Of course it would have worked, Twilight." Applejack reassured, putting a hand on Twilight's shoulder.
"...Assumin' a certain band member didn't try to hog the spotlight the whole time we were tryin' to play it!" She said, looking at Rainbow Dash.
"Hey! If you wanna tell Twilight she's getting a little too caught up trying to be the new leader of this band, you don't have to be all cryptic about it." Rainbow Dash said.
"She was talking about you, Rainbow Dash!" Rarity yelled.
"Me!? I'm just trying to make sure my band rocks as hard as it needs to!" Rainbow Dash defended.
Then Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy yelled...
"OUR BAND!"
Twilight ended up sitting down and curling up into a ball at the corner, believing that it's over.
"But why wasn't it working? I should know what to do. How could I not know what to do? How could I have failed like this?" She mourned.
Sunset just watched with horror and they just ignored Twilight.
"It might've been your idea to start a band, but it's not just your band, Rainbow Dash!" Applejack yelled.
"I'm the one who writes all the songs!" Rainbow Dash retorted.
"I write songs! You just never let us play any of them!" Fluttershy yelled.
"I had the most perfect outfits for us to wear!" Rarity complained again.
"Again with the costumes! No one cares what we're wearin'!" Applejack yelled.
"I care, Applejack! So sorry if I enjoy trying to make a creative contribution to the band!" Rarity yelled.
Then Pinkie just appeared from nowhere and...
"Hey! Anybody here remember fun?! I'll give you a hint: It's the exact opposite of being in the Rainbooms!" She yelled.
"I wish I never asked any of you to be in my band!" Rainbow Dash yelled.
"I wish I'd never agreed to be in it!" Rarity yelled.
"Me neither!" Fluttershy and Applejack yelled.
This stupid arguing went on...
They were emitting the green energy the Dazzlings feed off of, and they didn't realize it...
Sunset realized this.
She did hesitate for a moment, but...
"STOP!"
That got everyone's attention.
"You have to stop! This is what they've been after all along! They're feeding off of the magic inside you!" Sunset said.
"How can they be using our magic? It's the magic of friendship." Applejack said.
"Ever since you started this band, you've been letting little things get to you. I never said anything because I didn't feel like it was my place. Not when I was so new to this whole friendship thing. I still have a lot to learn. But I do know that if you don't work out even the smallest problems right at the start, the magic of friendship can be turned into something else." Sunset said.
She had a great point.
Twilight stood up, amazed at the whole situation.
"I can't believe all this tension was happening right under my nose and I didn't realize it. I'm supposed to be the one with all the answers. And all I've done since I got here is let you down." She said.
"I don't think anyone is supposed to have all the answers." Sunset said.
"But you can count on your friends to help you find them." She said.
"I think you already have. C'mon! We need to get out of here!" Twilight said, full of energy.
...Then a fist came right through the door.
With a certain blue wristband.
There was now a hole, hah!
Everyone noticed.
...Then it bent down to the doorknob and broke the lock.
The door itself opened, and there was Gohan!
All by himself....
Oh, goody, the hero is here.
"I have made a terrible mistake." Gohan said.
That still got him a tackle hug by Fluttershy.
"You're here!" She said, really happy.
"I never should have left." Gohan said, patting her on the back.
Then Fluttershy broke off.
"The Dazzlings are getting stronger by the moment. We have to hurry." Gohan said.
"What took you so long!?" Rainbow Dash asked happily.
"His mother was very adamant in not letting him go. And honestly, I can't fight her on it." Gohan said.
"...Do all superheroes have their mom as a weakness...?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"We almost died the last time I took him with me." Gohan said.
"...Nevermind." Rainbow Dash said.
"I've been looking all over for you!" Spike said from behind.
He had another individual with him.
Vinyl Scratch, DJ and someone who never talks.
"Spike!" Twilight said joyfully.
"Ugh, sorry I took too long. I tried finding Gohan, but then I realized that was a stupid idea. Then I had to find someone who wasn't under the sirens' spell." Spike said.
"I can tell she isn't under the spell, but how...?" Gohan asked.
"Never takes off her headphones." Spike said.
Vinyl Scratch just gave a thumbs up.
"Come on, y'all! Time to prove we've still got the magic of friendship inside us!" Applejack said.
"And there's only one way to do it!" Twilight said.
"We're getting the band back together?" Pinkie asked.
"The band was disbanded?" Gohan asked.
"We're getting our band back together!" Rainbow Dash said.
"Whee!" Pinkie said.
"I think I missed something here." Gohan said.
"Ooh, which version of the counter-spell are we going to play?" Rarity asked.
"I don't think it matters what song we play, as long as we play it together as friends." Twilight said.
"So, you could've just played any song and beat them...?" Gohan asked.
"I mean... I just figured that out." Twilight said.
"Fair enough." Gohan said.
"I know just the song!" Rainbow Dash said.
Now, that got everyone worried.
But...
"Fluttershy's written a really great one." She said.
Then Fluttershy squeeed, which was just adorable.
"We're about to save the world here. Personally, I think we should do it in style. Rarity?" Applejack asked.
"I thought you'd never ask!" Rarity said, suddenly pulling a clothes rack out of nowhere with all sorts of dresses.
"You had that here the entire time...?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Yes, anyhow, we don't have much time, would you mind trying this one on?" Rarity asked Gohan, pulling on some sort of rainbow gi.
"Wait, you actually... Wh-... No thanks." Gohan said.
Well, Trixie just finished.
She and her bandmates were walking offstage, past the Dazzlings.
They're all dressed for the big show.
"Try to top that!" Trixie sneered.
"Oh, gosh! I don't know if we can!" Adagio said sarcastically.
This time everyone got the sarcasm, and the Dazzlings laughed.
Now, onstage...
It's time for the finale.
Smoke appeared onstage...
"Ah-ha, ah-ah-ah, ah-ah-ah...
Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah...
Ah-ha, ah-ah-ah, ah-ah-ah...
Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah..." They sang.
"Welcome to the show..." Adagio sang.
"Ah-ah-ah-ah, ah..." Aria and Sonata sang throughout the rest of the song.
"We're here to let you know...
Our time is now...
Your time is running out..." Adagio sang.
"Ah, ah, ah..." Aria and Sonata sang.
The "Ah-ah"s went on.
In the distance, over a hilltop...
The Rainbooms were suited up, geared up and ready to play.
Only...
"How are we supposed to play over them from up here?" Rainbow Dash asked.
Then a car honked behind them all.
It was Vinyl Scratch's car, but...
Then it transformed from a sports car into a fucking DJ festival setup.
The girls were impressed, happy and such.
Well, back to the actual show...
The Dazzlings were actually using magic as they sang together.
"Feel the wave of sound...
As it crashes down..." They sang.
They waved their hands down, and created a red shockwave to actually make it feel like gravity got stronger.
The Rainbooms were even affected, being pushed down for a moment.
They gathered a lot of power...
"You can't turn away...
We'll make you wanna sta-a-a-ay!" They sang.
They gathered up the energy to pony up!
Or siren up.
They started floating with red aura...
And they had flashes of red light!
Gohan noticed a huge increase in power...
They were powerful, but could they ascend even higher, somehow...?
They gained new ears...
"We will be adored!
Tell us that you want us,"
They gained new wings...
"We won't be ignored!
It's time for our reward!"
Now they gained the longer and extended hair...
"Now you need us!
Come and heed us!
Nothing can stop us now!"
Counterattack by the Rainbooms with a drum solo to start!
"Oh-oh, oh-whoa-oh!
I've got the music in me,
Oh-oh, oh-whoa-oh!" They sang.
Then Rainbow Dash had the quick guitar solo.
Then Twilight sang.
"Don't need to hear a crowd,
Cheering out my name!
I didn't come here seeking infamy or fame!" She sang.
This got the people's attention.
Then they all sang.
"The one and only thing,
That I am here to bring,
Is music, is the music,
Is the music in my soul!
Gonna break out, out!" They sang.
They each gradually received their pony parts as they kept singing.
"Set myself free, yeah!
Let it all go, go!
Just let it be, yeah!
Find the music in your heart,
Let the music make you start,
To set yourself apart!"
Now they were all ponied up!
Extreme increase in power!
Time for the real battle!
The Dazzlings didn't seem too surprised.
"So the Rainbooms want to turn this into a real Battle of the Bands? Then let's battle!" Adagio said.
"What we have in store..." She sang.
"Ah-ah..." Sonata and Aria sang.
"All we want and more..." Adagio sang.
"Ah-ah..." Sonata and Aria sang.
"We will break on through..." Adagio sang.
"Ah-ah..." Sonata and Aria sang.
"Now it's time to finish you!" Adagio sang, getting red eyes.
They all had red glowing eyes...
Gohan noticed an massive increase in power.
With flashes of red light coming from their pendants...
The sirens emerged with their true forms!
Three sirens that look like dragons...
Their gems were engraved their chests...
Shit, they brought in the big guns.
Everyone was shocked, this is insane.
The sirens flew around the hilltop the Rainbooms were on...
Kinda trapping them.
There was a red protective magical barrier around the sirens's human forms...
This was a tense moment...
Vinyl Scratch raised the volume to the extreme!
Pinkie Pie had a quick drum solo, and they all played with magic!
The speakers were quite literally emitting magical shockwaves.
The sirens had to move around, but this wasn't a great option.
The Rainbooms had not only the speakers for magic, they had their instruments.
You know, they fired magical things from their instrument.
Really effective in slowing the sirens down.
Diamonds from Rarity, red lightning zaps from Rainbow Dash, apples from Applejack, butterflies from Fluttershy, balloons from Pinkie Pie, and magical sparks from Twilight.
Speaking of whom...
She sang a quick vocalisation.
Releasing all the magic!
Well, this enraged the sirens very much.
So Adagio fired back with magical shockwaves with her own voice!
"AAAAAAAAHHHH!"
It seemed to overpower Twilight's...
It even pushed her back.
The other sirens joined in, and they all started firing!
"AAAAAAAAHHHH!"
They were really pushing them back, they couldn't play.
They were struggling to stay standing...
"Oh no..." Gohan muttered.
"Oh no is right." Sunset said, very concerned.
The Rainbooms couldn't keep it up anymore...
They were knocked off their feet, and collapsed onto the ground.
Well, Pinkie was slammed into her drum set.
Twilight dropped the microphone, which fell to Sunset's feet.
She picked up the microphone, but rushed to her friends with Gohan.
She rushed to Twilight, and he rushed to Fluttershy.
"Twilight!" Sunset said, holding her hand.
She tried to help her up.
But Twilight was weakened by the attack...
She couldn't stand too well.
Gohan helped Fluttershy and Rarity up, but they had trouble as well.
The others had to remain on the ground.
They were weakened.
"Are you able to perform another counter-spell?" Gohan asked.
"I don't know... We weren't strong enough..." Twilight said.
"I think we could..." She added.
Gohan looked to Sunset...
"Maybe you just didn't use all the manpower you need." He said, looking back at Twilight.
The sirens were going to finish them off at any moment, so...
Gohan turned around.
"Listen, you need to rest up. I'll try to defeat them, but I'm also buying time." He said.
"They destroyed us...!" Rainbow Dash said, finally getting on one knee.
"Then what do you think you need?" Gohan asked.
He looked over his shoulder at Sunset.
"Use everyone you have." He said, looking forward.
...Now everyone understood what he meant.
"There's no way I'll..." Rainbow Dash muttered.
The sirens dove down, trying to ram themselves into the hill...
"There's no time!" Gohan yelled, looking up.
In an instant, he made his aura flare, and he became a Super Saiyan.
"HRAAAGH!"
He yelled to the skies, his aura intensifying.
The girls and dog behind him had to cover their eyes.
The sirens actually stopped their descent and looked in shock.
The golden Saiyan in front of them...
Adagio decided to arch her head back...
The other sirens joined her, vocalizing out...
The "AAAAHHHHH" again.
They actually developed a giant crimson sphere of magic...
This was to completely finish the Rainbooms off.
"Get down!" Gohan yelled, looking over his shoulder.
The sirens all hurled the magical attack at the hill!
It was tremendously huge and fast.
It was powerful!
Lightning sparks around it and everything...
It got close to the hill, and Gohan was ready to whack it away with cupped hands.
Suddenly...
...
"FINISH BUSTER!"
A gigantic yet smaller yellow blast smashed itself into the sirens' blast...
It didn't destroy the blast, but it knocked it off course and into another hill.
BAKOOM!
There was a crater in that hill...
Now, the human Dazzlings...
"What was that!?" Adagio asked angrily.
Looking to the skies...
There was a small person.
"Trunks!?" Gohan asked.
Yep, Trunks in the same Capsule Corp. shirt and grey pants.
He was bent over and had his arms crossed between his legs.
He hurled that blast.
What the hell was he doing here?
Wasn't he supposed to be home?
