Chapter 2: Chapter 1: Just a Normal Day

Previous Chapter Next Chapter

One Month, 730.001 Hours, and 4.34524 Weeks, 30.4167 Days, and 43,800 Minutes before the Battle of Manehatten

We see the town of Ponyville, looking peaceful as usual. We see there is festival going on in the park. Foals are playing, adults are talking, laughing, and playing with their children. Octavia and Vinyl played music, while Tempest Shadow sung No Scars to Your Beautiful.

"But there's a hope that's waiting for you in the dark

You should know you're beautiful just the way you are

And you don't have to change a thing

The world could change its heart

No scars to your beautiful, we're stars and we're beautiful

Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh

Oh-whoa-oh, oh-oh-oh

And you don't have to change a thing

The world could change its heart

No scars to your beautiful, we're stars and we're beautiful."

We then see Spike and Grubber swapping stories.

"So there we were, on top of the castle, the Crystal Heart just a few inches away from us," Spike said. "Sombra had finally broken through Princess Cadence's barrier and was approaching fast. Twilight immediately rushed to get the Heart, but little did we expect that Sombra had a defense in place for it. With little time left, Twilight made the ultimate sacrifice and threw the Heart to me. Sombra was approaching fast, so I knew I had to get the Heart to the bottom quickly. However, Sombra fired a blast that knocked me off the castle. Me and the Heart were falling fast, and Sombra was getting even closer. And then, out of nowhere, Cadence catches me, and I manage to catch the Crystal Heart. I put the Heart into its place, and when everypony poured all their positive feelings into it, and we managed to restore the Crystal Empire and defeat Sombra."

"Wow, that soundth really interthting," Grubber replied. "The only thing I've ever done ith help Tempetht."

Thorax, Trixie, Discord, and Starlight were playing a game of Bobbing for Apples, headed by Big Macintosh. Thorax goes first, missing an apple by an inch.

"Dang it!" Thorax said in annoyment.

Trixie stepped up to the pool (or whatever it's called they put apples in for the game), and dunked her head into it. She pulled out a green apple, used her magic to hold it in the air, then took a bite out of it.

"This isn't so bad," Trixie said, enjoying the taste of it.

Discord stepped up this time, and put his head in there. He came back out, with frown on his face. As he was about to walk away, he noticed everypony was glaring at him. Reluctantly, Discord handed over the apple he magically took from the pool.

"I almost got away with it," Discord grumbled in annoyance.

Starlight rolled her eyes, stepped up to the pool, waited for a few seconds, then dunked her head under the water. She pulled it back up, holding a bright red apple in it.

"These are my favorite type of apples," Starlight admitted.

"Eeyup," Big Macintosh replied.

We cut to Applebloom, Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo, Babs Seed, Button Mash, Flurry Heart, Pound Cake, and Pumpkin Cake playing hide-n-seek.

"Alright, to see who'll be the seeker, I'm gonna count to three, and we'll all 'not it'," Scootaloo explained. "Whoever says it last, will be the seeker."

"Right!" all the foals replied in unison.

"Ok, ready?" Scootaloo asked. Everypony nodded. "Ok, one... two... three!"

"Not it!" Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle, Babs Seed, Button Mash, Apple Bloom, Pound Cake, and Flurry Heart all said in unison.

"Not it!" Pumpkin Cake shouted last.

"You're it, Pumpkin," Pound Cake told his sister.

"Dang it!" Pumpkin replied in annoyance. "Alright, where do I go count?"

"How about the tree?" Flurry Heart suggested.

The Crusaders agreed, and Pumpkin began counting.

Meanwhile, with the Mane 6.

The girls all are lying down on their picnic blanket, talking about all of their recent adventures.

"So anyways, there we were, fighting off the Storm King's loyalists," Rainbow Dash said, telling about how she, Tempest, Grubber, their Storm Warriors, and the Canterlot Army had stopped an attack on Baltimare by the Storm King loyalists. "We were low on arrows, and boulders for the catapults. Then, Tempest got an idea to use the catapults to take out the heavy artillery, while the archers dealt with the distraction, allowing a number of us to charge in and take out the loyalists. We almost got defeated, but Discord showed up and provided us with cover, allowing us to fight from the shadows."

"That's a very interesting story, Rainbow," Twilight commented. "You gotta admit, though, Tempest made a pretty good plan."

"Well, the idea was technically Grubber's," Rainbow Dash admitted.

"Still, with the help of Tempest, Grubber, and their Storm Warriors, we've quelled the loyalists faster than the Siege of the Crystal Empire," Applejack said. "Don't tell Celestia or Luna Ah said that."

"Cross our hearts, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in our eyes," the others promised.

"So how are things going at the boutique in Manehatten, Rarity?" Fluttershy asked.

"Oh, business as usual," Rarity replied. "With the Anniversary of the day Celestia and Luna Began their Rule, this is one of those times that I can actually spend some time to myself, darlings. I mean, honestly - don't those ponies know there are other boutiques in that city?"

"That mostly depends on how popular the boutique is," Pinkie Pie chimed in. "The more popular the boutique, the more business you're gonna get."

"Pinkie, darling, how do you even know that?" Rarity asked.

"Nighlocktheawesome00 told me," Pinkie Pie replied.

Pinkie, I never told you that. I don't even know the first thing about fashion.

"But you didn't like how Superman and Wonder Woman looked in the DCEU," Pinkie argued.

That's because I don't recognize the skirt.

"What about-?" Pinkie tried to ask.

I don't like Ben Affleck's Batman, because Batman doesn't use guns. Josh Brolin would've been the best Batman, just as he was the best choice for Thanos and Cable.

"Ehhh, that's fair," Pinkie replied.

"Uh, Pinkie, who are you even talking to?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"The author," Pinkie Pie replied. "He's new to Fimfiction. *gasp*! I should totally throw him a 'Welcome to Fimfiction Party'!"

*Points Cable's gun at you*

"Never mind," Pinkie said.

"Anyways, tonight everypony is going to be at the top of Town Hall to gaze upon the stars," Twilight told her friends. "Luna told me she's going to be doing a special arrangement of the stars tonight."

"Princess Luna surely must've gone into fashion design or art class if she can make such great arrangements amongst the stars," Rarity replied.

"Ah have ta agree with Rarity on that," Applejack said. "Only an expert fashionista or an expert artist can make beautiful arrangements like those."

The Mane 6 all laughed at this.

Meanwhile, at the Canterlot Castle, Celestia and Luna were walking down the halls of the castle.

"So, are you excited for the big star arrangement, Luna?" Celestia asked her younger sister.

"Yes, but at the same time, I'm a little nervous, Tia," Luna replied. "Especially before a big occasion."

"I'm sure you'll do fine, Luna," Celestia assured. "Besides, you're probably one of the top 10 beings in Equestria that more fearless than I am."

"You think so?" Luna asked.

"I know so," Celestia assured.

Luna smiled, but suddenly her eyes turned white, as she began receiving a vision.

Luna found herself on a battlefield, destruction everywhere. She saw men in white armor and robots firing lasers at each other. Leading the robots was what appeared to be a cyborg with yellow eyes, four arms, and four laser swords. He was fighting three human males and one humanoid female. They all had laser swords of their own, though the humanoid had dual laser swords. Civilians were trying to escape the battle, though some were killed in the process.

One white armored man ran up and fired a few shots with what looked like pistols at some robots who were sneaking up on the humans and humanoid. One robot appeared to take notice of Luna and fired at her.

Luna came to in the real world, the vision finally ending.

"Luna!" Celestia called out. "Luna, what's wrong? Talk to me!"

"It was horrible, Tia," Luna said softly, still frightened at what she saw. "There was this big battle going on. White armored men were fighting against robots. There was destruction everywhere, civilians trying to get away, some weren't even lucky. That wasn't even the worst part."

"What was the worst part?" Celestia asked. Luna remained silent, still in shock. "Luna?"

"There was this cyborg creature," Luna replied. "It had four arms and four laser swords. It was fighting three humans and a humanoid who also had laser swords of their own. But I could see the coldness in the cyborg's eyes. The cruelty. It was as if it lacked a heart and soul. It was like it was much more machine than creature."

Both sister stood in silence, shocked about this. For they knew that whenever one gets a vision of another world or a great cataclysm, it always led to trouble. And unbeknownst to them at the time, trouble was on its way.
