End of Night, Begining of Chaos
Chapter 1: Prologue: A Deal With Discord Prt 1
It was a dark and stormy night in Canterlot, and everyone was sleeping, warm in their homes. Everyone, that is, except for the dark form of a pony wrapped in a cloak of shadows, galloping through the courtyard of the castle towards the garden of statues. Once it made it to the beginning of the statues it stopped and looked around, making sure no one was following. When it was sure there was no one around, it took off it's hood, revealing a dark blue alicorn. This alicorn was taking a big risk being here and she knew it. But this was the only way for her to do what needed to be done. And so, she continued on her way, deeper and deeper into the statues.
After half an hour of walking, the alicorn found what she was looking for. She had made it to the middle of the garden of statues, where the statue of the most dangerous creature alive stood, in the middle of the six Seals of Harmony. The statue of Discord, the spirit of Dis-harmony and Chaos, stuck in the form of a statue. The alicorn was having second thoughts about this, but she steeled herself against her fears and started her horrible task.
Her long dark blue horn touched down on the first Element of Harmony surrounding the statue of Discord, and with a moment of unforseen stuggle inside the alicorn, it exploded in a blast of light, with a sound like a thunderclap. The alicorn winced slightly, but continued on her work.
In a short amount of time, all the seals of Harmony were broken and there was nothing holding Dicord back from breaking out of his prison. A loud cracking sound, louder than thunder, ripped through the air. It was the sound of almost solid rock breaking down the middle. The statue began to crack, starting from the middle and spreading through the rest of the statue.
It as over before it began. The statue was completely destroyed, and Discord was nowhere in sight. The alicorn sat back on her haunches in disbelief. Either Discord had fled the moment he escaped, or this wasn't the right statue and was just a trap set by the ruler of the city just in case someone was to try someth exactly like this. As the alicorn wondered, Discord snuck up behind her... and then without a second thought roared the scariest, and loudest, roar he could muster. The alicorn jumped forewards and then whirled around to see Discord laughing on the ground behind her.
"Oh, princess, You should have seen the look on your face!" He choked out as he tried to catch his breath from laughing. "It was priceless!"
"What dost thou mean?" The alicorn, who was apparently Princess Luna.
"What I mean, Princess, is that for someone these ponies used to fear so much, you are very easy to scare!" Discord explained and fell back into a laughing fit.
"We did not awaken thee so thyself can laugh at us!" Luna exclaimed, using her loud voice. "We only awakened thee so thy can help us!"
Discord stopped laughing suddenly. "And why, Princess, would I help you? Especially after you imprisoned me in stone the first time!" He exclaimed.
"Because we did not imprison thee for a second time!" Luna shouted back.
All this shouting begn to wake up the residents of the nearby castle. Lights suddenly turned on inside it and guards poured out.
Discord, seeing this, chuckled darkly. "I wouldn't keep shouting if I were you! It looks like you have awoken the guards." he said.
"What? This cannot be! We must escape!" Luna exclaimed.
"We? What we? Your the one who's in big trouble, because me... I can just... dissapear." Discord said and his body slowly began dissapearing in a mist.
"Wait! Please! Thou must help us! We will give thy anything thou wants, anything as long as thou helps us escape!" Luna begged.
"Oh Princess, are you begging. This is really a terrible sight to behold! I suppose since you asked so nicely, I will help you escape. On one condition..." Discord slowly trailed off.
The guards were getting closer, and Luna noticed this. "Alright, anything! Just save us!" She exclaimed.
"Oh all right." Discord said and chuckled because she didn't know what the condition was and yet she had still agreed to it. She was so trusting and naive. The moon must have messed with her mind... Discord grabbed her with his taloned appendage and they both dissapered.
The guards got there just in time to see them completely dissapear. The leader, a large, white, earth pony, stamped his hoof down onto the dirt. He turned and trotted past his soldiers and towards the castle to report to Princess Celestia that the Ex-Princess of The Solar Empire had released Discord once again.
